69 books825 followersI was born in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri named Bridgeton. During my time in Missouri, I explored the Ozarks, swam in the Mississippi River, played kickball and endless games of hide and seek with the neighborhood kids. Spending summers in Kentucky with my Grandmother, Ruth, are the fondest childhood memories for me.
At the age of thirteen, my family moved to Wisconsin to learn to farm. Yes, learn to farm! That was interesting. Taking city kids and throwing them on a farm with twenty-eight cows purchased from the Humane Society because they had been abused, was interesting. I learned to milk cows, the ins and outs of a breeding schedule, feeding schedule and the never ending haying in the summer and trying to stay warm in the winter. Our first winter in Wisconsin, we had thirty-six inches of snow in one storm and were snowed in our house for three days! Needless to say, I wasn’t loving Wisconsin.
I am now married with four children and three grandchildren. I have learned to love Wisconsin, though I still hate snow. Wisconsin and the United States are beautiful and my husband and I travel around by motorcycle seeing new sites and meeting new people. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are interested in where we are going and what we have seen along the way. At every gas station, restaurant and hotel, we have people come up to us and ask us about what we are doing and offering advice on which roads in the area are better than others and great rides others have been on if we are interested.
I come from a family of veterans. My grandfather, father, brother and two of my sons and one daughter-in-law are all veterans. Needless to say, I am proud. Proud to be an American and proud of the service my amazing family has given.

SAVING SHELBY
This was such a good story. You have everything... Sex. Action. An aunt who'll do anything for her niece and nephew. A former military man who has his own demons. Now be prepared to tear up because it is a tear jerker.
Shelby's sister has gone missing and her husband or the police will not help her. When she overhears a phone conversation by her sister's husband about the children and she takes them. Diego works for RAPTOR, they do jobs the police or government will not. He is tasked with finding Shelby and the children. He catches up to them and he ends up saving them from a killer. He takes them back to the compound and are trying to find evidence of him killing Shelby's sister. Can they find it before its too late?

HOLDING HADLEIGH
Hadleigh is a social worker and is going to visit one of her families. She talks to the little girl and inspects the house. She sees some disturbing items in one of the bedrooms and gets suspicious. She decides to do some investigating.
Donavan/Van is a former Army Ranger but now works for RAPTOR. They help get traffickers, molesters, and pedophiles off the street. Van is watching the house that Hadleigh goes to. They at first think she is involved until they talk to her.
Hadleigh is texting someone from that house and Van is determined to bring down whoever is using the kids. He tries to get her to stop before she messes up their investigation. He finally agrees to let her work with them. Can they bring down the perp before anyone gets hurt worse?
This was a great story at the beginning but as it got toward the end everything seemed rushed. Between the takedown of the bad guy to the dialogue between them. Action. Sex. Suspense.

CHASING CHARLESIA
Charly was injured in the Army and now works at RAPTOR rescuing kidnapped or trafficked children. They rescue a little girl and come to find out this is the second time she has been rescued. Her sister was sold too and Charly promises to find her.
Sam is a detective and is called in when they find the little girl, Olive. Sam has met Charly before and they have flirted with each other. They get closer working this case and start to fall for each other. The traffickers scheme is falling down around them but can they find Olive's sister before she's moved?
Action. Sex. Edge of your seat suspense. Each book can be read alone but they each lead into the next. Sam is big, burly, and handsome. Charly is beautiful and smart. They are perfect together.

Finally, a series that isn't a cookie cutter version of one after another. So far each of these stories have been different, even though the mission of RAPTOR is always to rescue and save trafficked children. Some time ago, Charley was on the team that rescued three children from deplorable conditions and an even worse future. Now they rediscover the little girl only to find she had been returned to her mother and sold again. Then they learn she has a sister who dear old Mom had sold first and they set out to find find her. Sam is a detective and is working the same case. These two make a perfect team because he can handle the legal stuff and when necessary, she can bypass it. She has crushed on Sam for some time, not realizing he's been crushing on her too. There's a good thriller twist to this story, as well as the inevitable love story between Sam and Charlie. Our author does a fabulous job of setting the scenes, disgusting as they may be, but always with a purpose. I'm eager to see what happens next for the RAPTOR group.

Fantastic!
The first 3 books in this boxed set were awesome! I enjoyed each one so much. The backstory of injured ex-military vets forming a taskforce that still does good in the world is well thought out and delivered. Fantastical? Absolutely! But that’s reading for you - an escape from reality. And I loved the romantic storyline for each of the RAPTOR team. Super fast with developing the relationships but why not.
This series was my first foray into the work of PJ Fiala but it definitely won’t be my last!

Fantastic series!
I really enjoyed this series. Each book was unique and with its own charm. While the storylines address real life drama they also possess a certain fun & entertaining quality.
The narration was fantastic.
This is the box set books 1-3 each with an HEA and each can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend this series!
