A nice little palate cleanser to break up all the fun! Short and simple and read it in one go. Some great home truths about how money is viewed in New Zealand and solid advice for people in all financial situations. Plus I’ve actually met the author of this book when he was in my office (lol), maybe next time I see him I’ll ask him to sign it <3

Solid simple book. I’m old and wise enough to have known most of this stuff already (happy to remove the part of my brain where I stored this…)- but shit it was a good wee nugget of knowledge nonetheless.

Such a great resource. We set both our kids up when KiwiSaver launched so, without any input, they already had $1700 each before starting their part time jobs. Reading this book has now prompted a conversation with my son who says he wants to increase his contributions from 6% to 10% as he doesn’t really need all the money he earns and thinks it would be better to save in a way that he doesn’t even see it. Both kids (14 and 16h are focussed on getting house, well apartment, deposits for the future.

A simple, straightforward book on building personal long-term wealth for New Zealanders. I liked how the author introduces financial terms as part of a story and leads the reader to some sort of action. Based on the author’s experience, he provides practical tips (“golden rules”) using the names of New Zealand financial products, which the concepts can easily be applied to other countries. This book is suitable for anyone interested in building personal long-term wealth and is not suitable for more experienced investors.

Highly recommend.

A bit basic for me, but if you don’t have any concept of finance, this is a really effective and simple read to get your learning kick-started. I would even feel confident that my younger teen relatives would be able to pick this mini book up and understand what it’s talking about.

Very easy to read in one sitting, with easy to understand examples and graphics. Great advice for those starting out and is New Zealand / Kiwi based (but the principles can be applied universally).
