Running a paranormal inn is going to run Holly right out of her mind.

The ink on the contracts is dried and the first batch of guests are set to arrive. There's no turning back. But when a dead body shows up in the flower beds the morning before opening day, it's going to take all hands--and paws--on deck to set things right.

Will the opening of the inn be the start to a new chapter, or the ending of the whole book?

Wow - I read this super fast. Was it just me being really into it or was it shorter than usual? Either way I enjoyed it and am sad to have it finished already. I buddy read it with Sophia and it was a treat to share our impressions, however fast it flew by. I believe she's also giving it 4 stars.

Side note: If you haven't read the short story "Dead Men Tell No Tales... But Women Do" from Betwixt Volume 2 I recommend checking it out. It's not necessary, but you will understand a new character a little better.

This book was a bit different than the others for me - I feel like usually there's a big mystery that you're caught up in all these moving parts to solve. This time, there was a mystery but I never really felt like Holly and the gang were as deeply into it. I mean, they were invested and Holly was searching for answers. But it just felt different and easier somehow.

Where this book excelled were the developments on the personal front - I feel like Holly and Adams relationship is continuing to progress (I know, their engaged already but things are still in motion), especially with the new Inn and visitors that are friendly with Adam's parents. Muriel and Nick are developing and even things with Evie are developing. Our crew of paranormal misfits are growing up!

I listened to this (of course). I say of course, because Amanda Ronconi is the narrator and she is in my top 5 of narrators. She knows how to deliver a compelling performance, bringing the characters, the humor and the stress to life.

n The Witch Is Inn, Holly soon finds the Inn in trouble when a dead body is found on the property before it even opens. While each audiobook in the series offers its own mystery, the overall ARC, character development and relationships make reading the series in the order of their release preferable.

Holly and Adam are preparing to open the inn, but their Haven Hospitality liaison is demanding more renovations and improvements before he will give them his seal of approval. A seal necessary to draw folks from the paranormal community to their quaint seaside inn.

But a dead body and their first guests soon have them worried that all their plans will fail. This time the mystery was a side dish as Holly and Adam find themselves on the suspect list.

This series is a fast-paced, light and always fun. At just under six hours, I quickly devoured The Witch Is Inn. Garrett introduced new characters, further developed relationships and held my attention.

Amanda Ronconi narrated and has become the voice of Holly and these characters. Her narration adds another layer of enjoyment to a solid story and engaging series.

As always, I cannot wait to go back to Beechwood. Fans of cozy mysteries with a paranormal twist will want to grab the audiobooks in this series. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Another solid book in this series! I only have two more books left and then I have to say goodbye to Holly and friends. 🥺

I know it’s going to end on a happy and wholesome note, but I really don’t want to say goodbye to any of these precious characters. Although, I am ready to explore new characters in Danielle Garret’s other books! So, that’s something to look forward to. 😊

Overall, great mystery and I like the direction where Holly and Adam are headed. They’ve grown so much in their relationship and I love them together. 🥰

Time for book 11!

Constant stress and irritation from the Haven Hospitality group's rep pushing toward unnecessary renovations at the new inn are nothing when a body turns up and one of their own gets the blame. This light, charming, and always-engaging paranormal cozy mystery series has another fab installment out in audio and I couldn't wait to start listening.

The Witch is Inn is the tenth of the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series that read best in order to get all the character and relationship connections surrounding the standalone mystery. I would also recommend that this one is read/listened to after Betwixt 2 because there is a certain novella featuring Harmony that is heavily referenced in this one.

Holly and Adam are excited and a little afraid to be nearing the end of all the prep work needed to open the Manor as an inn. They had to jump through a ton of hoops set by the obnoxious guy repping the Haven Hospitality group who need to give their stamp of approval for the inn to open. Holly has been suspicious all along that he was pushing them toward changes and renovations that weren't necessary for his own reasons, but couldn't think why he would slow them up when he had no motive. But right when he angled for a new condition they had to meet before opening and she's ready to murder the man herself, he turns up dead. The Supernatural Protection Agency find some suspicious evidence on scene that lead to Holly determined to getting to the bottom of things.

But, of course, her life is full of many things including Kirra needing help planning Cassie's baby shower, their first unofficial guests arriving who just happen to be friends of Adam's parents, and of course thoughts on her and Adam getting married in the near future. Evangeline is back with a certain handsome lawyer and feeling out whether they should get more serious and Holly feels a twinge of guilt when she discovers she missed something going on in Harmony's life.

As the case continues and evidence is thin on the ground though suspects there are aplenty someone in the shadows has no desire for the truth to come out and will do what they have to do to keep their secrets.

The Witch is Inn was engaging from cover to cover. I enjoyed listening to large portions at a time because I love being in the Beechwood Harbor world. It moved swiftly with all Holly had going on. Kirra is keeping secrets from Cassie, Evie needs love advice, Adam's family friends get the wrong end of the stick about Holly's rushing off to play detective with Nick, Holly and Adam have frank convos about their own wedding and starting a family, the Inn prep and their separate businesses keeping Holly and Adam frantic, and then there was the murder mystery. It sounds like a lot, but it never got confusing and all meshed well as a whole.

I think what really had me happy was the mature way Holly and Adam were handling things. Not like in the past when they wouldn't talk, got cold feet, and would start arguments just because. Their relationship as come far and has deepened so I can totally see them in the long-term commitment of marriage. It is easy to see the series winding down and them living happily ever after.

The mystery was a curiosity and the impetus for parts of the plot, but other than proving everyone at the Inn innocent, I was not as into this part of the story. I didn't mind sitting back and finding the answer to the murder when Holly found out and that was quite the harrowing adventure when she did.

But, I'm glad there are a few threads still out there needing tying off. The wedding itself, getting the Inn up and running with Anastasia's brides coming for pamper me getaways and Lacey's vamps staying while Vampire political talks take place, but let's not forget Harmony's master test as a potion's witch or Kirra's big secret from Cassie. So much excitement still to come.

Amanda Ronconi is a champ at narrating this series and bringing it to life. Male, female, accents, and even personal characteristics come out so that the full cast comes alive. She catches the tone and humor so well.

All in all, it was another fabulous installment in the series. If you love a blend of paranormal and cozy mystery, you must try this series.

My thanks to Tantor Audio for the opportunity to listen to this series in exchange for an honest review.

This is a Fantasy Cozy Mystery, and this is the 10th book in the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series. I have read books 1-9 before picking up this book. I have to say I love both characters, Holly and Adam. In this book Holly and Adam has brought the Inn, and they are working on getting it ready to open up to magical guest only. I really enjoy the mystery in this book, and I did not guess who did it. This series has became one of my favorite cozy mystery book series. This book is a good mixed of cute fun light fantasy with a good mystery. It also has fun and developed characters. I love how the characters as changed through out this book series. I cannot wait to read the next book because I cannot wait until the Inn is open and see all the guests. (*)

This book was so frustrating for Holly and Adam. Just when they thought they would get the Inn up and going, they are put down by a BS rule and a BS person trying to enforce it. Of course things go crazy and someone ends up dead. I didn't expect the suspect to be Adam, which meant that everyone at the Manor rallied around him to make sure that he was proved innocent. It was crazy the things they discovered, but more crazy was how things went down at the end. It's a good thing that Holly has a cool head and was able to let people know she needed help. In the end, the bad guy was caught and punished and Holly and Adam are back to getting the Inn up and running.

On a side note, how horrible were Adam's parents friends, especially the woman. You gotta wonder what the parents are saying about Holly if this is how the woman reacted.

It was nice to see Holly acting more maturely in this book, she’s working WITH Adam and the others to solve the murder at the inn instead of making rash decisions. This book shows the characters all going through transitions in their lives/relationships, as some contemplate relationship, career, and location changes.

This book kind of derailed me and I had to leave the series alone and read something else for a while, I got really tired of the Haven always being the bad guys in one form or another. After reading a few books in another series I did come back to this one. It did end well so I’ll continue.

However, instead of introducing someone new to make Holly’s life miserable they should have brought Platt back to do the job.

Holly and Adam are just about to open the manor as an inn for supernaturals, just a few last steps. Unfortunately, the SPA inspector who needs to okay their opening keeps finding problems that could delay everything. Then he’s found dead in Holly’s greenhouse with Adam as the prime suspect.
They are also trying to keep the knowledge of the murder from their first guest, friends of Adam’s parents.
Holly and friends start to do their usual investigation.
This book has an interesting mystery with a few suspects, some humour, some surprises and the usual great interactions between the characters.
For some reason I was thinking this was a 10 book series and am quite happy there are still 2 books to go.
A quick, easy, enjoyable read.

Holly and Adam are now owners of the Supernatural Inn, but they're having a rough time getting certified as their SPO contact is making them go through ridiculous hoops. To top it all off, a dead body is found on their property, and Adam is a prime suspect.

This book would be relatively meaningless if you hadn't read the rest of the series, as it builds on longstanding relationships and issues. Since I've read the rest of the series, I enjoyed it. There were a multitude of possible suspects for the murder, as the victim was a really annoying, nasty man. In the end, we're closer to Adam and holly actually getting married.

Following the events that unfolded in Sassy Witch, The Witch is Inn picks up roughly three months after Holly and Adam decided to purchase the Beechwood Manor and convert it into an Inn for the supernatural. They continue to have to work with the persnickety French SPA official who tried to evict them in the last book. Now the inn is ready to go but can’t be on the official Haven registry until they get 25 references from guests.

Now that Adam and Holly are engaged and happy, I like that the stories focus on their life as they deal with hiccups and celebrations together. Pierre, who is essentially Michel from Gilmore Girls, is harassing the couple, demanding improvements they can’t afford. Trying to work around him to get guests, things go sideways when a dead body is discovered out in the back gardens. The pair have to juggle the SPA, concerns over Chief Lincoln getting involved, working on a marketing plan, and by the way… Adam’s parents’ best friends are staying at the Inn.

The Witch is Inn is wonderful for what it is - cozy, easy, and entertaining. I love that Adam and Holly function as a team throughout the story, working together. They are talking about their future, like the wedding and even kids. It’s so great to see them go through the ups and downs together. They also work together to solve the mystery, which hits especially close to home. This time around, the mystery itself is important to the overall plot as part of the story instead of the primary focus of the book.

Narration: As always, Holly and her friends are brought to life through the performance of Amanda Ronconi, who has consistently done a wonderful job. Her interpretation of Holly is always spot on. Ms. Ronconi convincingly portrays Holly’s thoughts, concerns, and expressions. Her voices are all well-suited, and she gives paranormals their own fitting voices. However, I notice that as the cast gets larger, some of the characters start sounding similar, but due to writing, I can usually tell them apart. This time around Ms. Ronconi tackles a snooty French accent, reminiscent of Michel from Gilmore Girls.

The Witch is Inn is an entertaining addition to the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries, and I look forward to following Holly and the gang as they move onto the next phases of their lives.

It seems like there are new elements to the magical world introduced with each new book. With this one, it's the politics of getting approval for an official recommendation to be a paranormal B&B. And there's nothing like discovering a murder has been committed right outside the inn the night before the photographer comes for photos.

Another fun book for the series.

Oh how I love this series, and over the last week or so have settled into a routine where I snuggle up on the sofa with a Beechwood Harbor book and get drawn into another cozy murder mystery, total heaven. With it's blend of humor, great characters and a cozy mystery to solve (yeah I know I never get the bad guy) I've found it an enjoyable way to relax after work.

Holly and Adam now have their dream home and are turning it into supernatural inn. Unfortunately, the SPA inspector agent sent to inspect the property to make sure it's okay to open keeps finding faults which is putting a delay on everything. When he turns up dead in Holly's greenhouse, Adam is suspect number one. Can Holly and her friends solve the murder and clear Adam's name, while keeping the investigation away from the guest's staying at the manor?

Holly and Adam's dream of opening a supernatural inn is rapidly becoming a reality and has taken a lot of hard work on both their parts. So when they realise they are to be saddled with Pierre Ancel the inspector who they have dealt with before, they are both less than enthusiastic. Pierre the little french fry starts listing a mountain of impossible demands that he wants them to complete before he will even consider giving his stamp of approval, but the last straw comes when he wants Holly to get rid of her greenhouse to accommodate off road parking. When he knows he will not get his way he threatens that the inn will not open as he will not grant the certificate they need as so it looks like their dream is going down in flames. When he is found dead the next morning Adam becomes the prime suspect, so Holly and the gang have to find a way to investigate without letting the SPA know. I don't know about Holly and Adam but there was a number of times that I wanted to reach into my kindle and throttle the little weasel myself, honestly he was such a pain in the rear. Holly herself remarks that she thinks she is cursed the amount of times she gets dragged into murder investigations and I honestly have to agree with her, but I still adore her cursed or not.

Poor Adam it's now his turn to be on the SPA radar and I think he actually understands how Holly felt when they seemed to have it in for her, but in true Adam style tries to not let it bother him. Bless him.

Theres also a few surprises with the rest of the gang which because I don't do spoilers I can't say what they are but they are good ones.

With only two more books to go I can't wait to see how Holly's story wraps up. Another fantastic read which I enjoyed immensely. I'm off to book 11, so if you want a nice cozy read I highly recommended this series 😁

Inn Over Their Heads?

Holly & Adam are cramming their lives with not just Holly's potion shop & Adam's tech work at the Seattle Haven, but getting ready for the big day. The Beechwood Harbour Inn is just about ready to open. Months of dealing with fussy Haven liason, Pierre Ancel insisting on doing things his way are now behind them. Or are they?. Pierre demands Holly tear down her precious greenhouse to put in more parking. Otherwise he won't approve their listing with the HHC. But the paranormal community usually books through the HHC so Holly & Adam have a big problem. Late that night, her Pierre problem is solved when she finds him dead in her side yard. But who killed him & where is Adam? Things get abruptly worse when the SPA makes Adam a prime suspect!
This series has evolved into a first class paranormal world. It started from the very first adventure rebel Holly had in Beechwood Harbour. Both the original characters & those added since have developed their own voices & places in these magical stories. The Witch is Inn continues that tradition. I can't wait to read what happens next to this close knit group.

Magic, Mayhem and Holly

Somehow magic, mayhem and Holly Boldt seem to be a constant, chaotic theme and a wild one in the Beechwood Harbor mysteries. Holly and fiancée Adam have purchased the manor.

Pierre, the government official is supposed to sign off their final inspections so they can officially open. But since he is mostly an addlepated twit, he is making their life insane with his demand they comply with his changed and insists they use only his vendors to make the changes.

They refuse and when he turns up dead in their backyard, just before their first guest arrives, their inn reputation is on the line and they have to find the murderer. As always Holly juggles a myriad of perplexing clues helped by the charming and unusual magical friends that are their family of choice- if only real life were so wonderful!

The reveal of the villain and their take down is most satisfying, and an absolutely worthwhile read

Holly and Adam have officially bought the Beechwood Inn but they are having problems with their liaison to the Haven Hospitality Committee. They need to do all of the things he says or they won't get rated by the HHC, the only way they can advertise to the magical community. No advertising, no guests. So they'll have to figure out how to work with Pierre Ancel. Too bad he ends up dead just outside of Holly's greenhouse. Even worse, someone saw a man who looked like Adam arguing with Pierre early the evening before.
The mystery ends up being a little thin with the end being way too quick. There was nice development of some of the side stories though with Holly going on a date with a human and Evangeline's baby shower being in the planning stages. We also get a nice set up to the next book which will feature Lacey's return.

Not my usual genre of book but I found this series because I was looking for books narrated Amanda Ronconi and I thought 'what the heck, I'll give it a try'. Well, I am so grateful I did. The stories are fun, the characters are interesting, and more importantly, the stories evolved and the writer matured the characters as the series moved forward. I often get frustrated when characters remain the same from book to book and as a result lose interest in the story line. FORTUNATELY, that isn't how Danielle Garrett managed this series. The character's maturing throughout the series made the stories more interesting and kept me engaged throughout.

A Witch 🧙‍♀️, a Wimp and a Were?

With Posy selling the Manor to Holly and Adam, they’re all-out working their butts off getting it ready to be an Inn.
When the realize they’re getting stuck with the same Wimp as before, that French know it all Pierre, it all comes crashing down because he can’t get his way!
When he ends up dead outside in the yard, Adam is a suspect because he went for a run around that time.
Can they clear Adams name, get Beechwood Inn ready for some of Adams parents friends and figure out how to get the Inns name out there?
We’ll see.

The witch is inn - Danielle Garrett

📚 paranormal romance
⭐️ 4/5
🔥 0/5

Holly and Adam are ready to host their first guests at the inn when they receive a letter informing them they will need 25 recommendation letters from guests before the haven will give them approval. Once Holly comes up with a plan to help them get these guests of course disaster strikes and they have yet another murder on their hands. Only this time it’s in their own backyard. Man was this one a doozy. Adam being a suspect in the murder? A skull being the only witness to the murder? Goodness I can’t wait to see where these books continue to go.

Holly and Adam are embarking on a new endeavor, but it’s not shaping up quite how they had envisioned. Between uncooperative bureaucrats and enough red tape to wrap a mummy, their dream future is starting to feel like a money pit. And when their biggest obstacle is removed rather permanently, they’ve got their work cut out for themselves proving neither of them did it. This book read so fast. It almost felt like I blinked and it was over already. I had sunk so deeply into it I didn’t even realize how many hours had passed while I was reading. And now that it’s over, I really wish it weren’t because the hints of what’s coming next make me a little rabid to find out more.

Holly and Adams relationship is blossoming, she is slowly letting the walls down that were surrounding her heart after her last relationship broke her heart. Other friends are announcing wedding plans as well and their is a baby on the way for a happy couple. Holly cant help but try to solve the latest murder, the sooner the better because her boyfriend Adam is one of the suspects.
This series has been a great read, each book brings with it a new mystery to solve and another supernatural to stay at the manor/ Inn.

good

Even though these books are short, they sure seem to have a lot of action in them. Holly and Adam are trying to get the in ready to open and the person that is supposed to be helping them is more trouble than he’s worth. a couple comes to stay at the end that are friends of Adam‘s parents and some of the things that they do are just stupid, and some of the things that the wife says to Holly you would think she doesn’t have a brain cell in her head. I will be reading the next book in the series.

A Great Series!!!

I haven't written reviews for each book because I'm afraid of spoilers; I find it difficult to describe things without naming names and giving details. But I have to say something about this one; it's so ooo good and satisfying. You'll understand that statement when you read the book! You do have to start from the beginning to understand the relationships, though you might get away with not. The series is great with well defined characters and stories where the who-done-it isn't obvious! Enjoy!! Oh, this book isn't the last one... Mmm

Super fun as usual!

Holly and Adam are trying to get the inn set up while dealing with Pierre. When Pierre ends up dead in the backyard, they have to scramble to try to find the killer while also hosting their first guests at the inn. And of course Holly gets pulled into the middle!

Its nice to see all our favs back again. Holly and Adam are moving forward, as is Evie and Teddy. I cant wait to see what they do in the next book!
