These are not bad books. However, "Blake Pierce" is obviously (probably) a writing mill and we're well into the formulaic process whereby I know we'll open with a murder and page 6 will have the paragraph about Jessie Hunt's ponytail. Like the rest in this series, this is really not bad, and they're finally beginning to flesh out some of the recurring characters but the villain of the week with big bad doing things in the background is beginning to wear thin for me. That said, I'm still likely to read the next one because the writing isn't Terrible
I am truly obsessed with these mediocre books. They get me through the work day, but the editing is atrocious and the characters are probably worse. But I will continue… I was not a big fan of this one. I think a big death would shake things up!
I have my ups and downs about the series. one minute i am back to being hooked. next it feels all the same. This was a bit better hence the rating. not sure how long author will continue with series. But hopefully not to long after its over stayed its welcome.
Love the Jessie Hunt books. She is a hard driving profiler married to her boss and captain. And works the hardest cases in LA. She gets to see the depraved humans (if you can call them that) who commit crimes on others and think they are smart enough or psycho enough to get away with it. Not to mention the ones in jail who still try to pull strings from the inside to get even.
But she has help from some of the very best detectives and computer geeks/nerds in the state to help her solve the crimes. It’s a team effort with Jessie being the lead. And on this case, she needed them all to work hard as this was a whodunit for sure. Not to mention she has a sister who is working with Kat as a PI on some difficult cases. And who proves to be a huge asset to Kat in this case. I can’t spill the beans, but it was a WOW did not see that coming at all for a couple of chapters for certain.
Blake has a way of building the case with so many twists and turns that you really can’t figure out who or what is coming next. The books just keep getting better and better. I’ve got every book in the series and the rest on order as they come out. The Jessie Hunt books is my ok need a really good mystery with twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and people who work so hard and are so good at what they do that the bad guys win for a while but always end up where they should be dead or in cuffs. Love it and off to my next read.
I love Jessie Hunt Psychological Suspense Thriller Books 📚📖🤗. The first story in this series was so hard to get into at first but when I finally got into it I have been hooked ever since. We left off with Zoe reminding Jessie that the second part of Operation Z was still a go. The second part was to torture and kill those people closest to Jessie, Ryan her husband, Hannah her sister and Kat Gentry her best friend. We know that Jessie is still having migraines from what Andrea Robinson did when she kidnapped her. In this the 26th book 📚📖 Jessie and Ryan are paired together. We out that her boss Decker is now the Chief of Police and Ryan is head of the LAPD division. Ryan and Jessie have to Investigate the death of the CEO billionaire of a Biomedical company. This is another excellent suspense thriller. Well written and great plot development 😃. It's definitely a good read.
I have NO IDEA how Blake Pierce can even conceive of SO MANY unique and varied plots, twists, and stories, AND STILL keep the theme, overall feel, and character arcs carrying on smoothly and continuous.
As certiviable book hoarder, oops, 😉 I mean, bibliophile, I have read MANY books and series and trust me when I say that not many authors can continue a series over 10 volumes (not to mention over 30!!!) And still maintain the main character and story integrity.
Blake! You AMAZE ME!
I'll be honest, though. You had me SERIOUSLY SCARED and NERVOUS for a while there. I thought I was going to have to hunt you down with a pitch fork and torch!!!
Phew!!! THAT! WAS! A! CLOSE! ONE!
😳🫣🥹😵💫😢
How about you DON'T stop my heart like that again, OKAY!!!
Hannah should have her own series! I actually thought she was about to go back to her dark side.. but that part I think deserves a different series.
The Perfect Veneer might be one of Jessie Hunt series I like.. the story was good, less drama from Jessie - which is also good. She no longer sounds like a kid not being listened to or someone having tantrums over a case or situation. The twists are good.. and can stand on its own like another book separate from the main story. Each of the characters were given a highlight in the story. So, yes, it's a 5 for me.
In house with a full security detail and a panic room, the wealthy owner is found dead and his wife wounded. Their marriage seemed to be perfect and little is known about the first wife and their children and they become the main suspects. As Jesse investigates she'll discover that not everything is as it seems and the truth was in the minor details. Entertaining and easy to read. I thank the author for the free copy of this book.
I can’t believe the series is still going. When will it end? Just more exciting adventures for Jessie! And now Hannah is taking a bigger role in fighting crime and solving big problems. Would love to keep reading more, and excited for book 27. I’d love to see Jessie have a baby. But would she protect herself and stop working?
These books are consistent. I think there is too much retelling what has already happened. That happens here too. I am not pulled into this new treat Jessie is facing and I think she found out too quickly. The case was a classic crime fiction who done it and was well done.
A wealthy couple is discovered dead in their panic room, Jessie Hunt is assigned the case to work. The question on everyone’s mind is how did the killer manage to get into a room that is designed to keep people safe. Jessie wonders if this is just a one-time event or are more invasions going to happen. At the same time, Jessie, her family and close friends still have to be on the lookout for the crazy serial killer followers coming after them.
