Rachel Gift #10

Her Last Hour

Rate this book
When hospice patients are found murdered in a string of “freak accidents,” FBI Special Agent Rachel Gift must enter the world of the terminally ill and race to find the other danger that lurks among them. Who would want them dead? And why?

FBI Agent Rachel Gift, 33, unparalleled for her ability to enter the minds of serial killers, is a rising star in the Behavioral Crimes Unit—until a routine doctor visit reveals she has but a few months left to live.

Not wishing to burden others with her pain, Rachel decides, agonizing as it is, not to tell anyone—not even her boss, her partner, her husband, or her seven-year-old daughter. She wants to go down fighting, and to take as many serial killers with her as she can, but she can feel herself slipping.

While investigating the murders, a hospice worker recognizes the tired look in Rachel’s eye. She can’t hide her condition anymore and she knows it.

It is time to confess her truth—but not before she catches her last killer.

A page-turning and harrowing crime thriller featuring a brilliant and tortured FBI agent, the RACHEL GIFT series is a riveting mystery, packed with non-stop action, suspense, twists and turns, revelations, and driven by a breakneck pace that will keep you flipping pages late into the night.

Great story but brought down by typos!

While I love all the strong female leads in all the series by Blake Pierce, the story was interesting but the typos and wrong names were very noticeable and distracting. I’m hoping this was just an off situation because I have never noticed it before. As I said I love all her series and the mystery of this one keeps you guessing and hoping Rachel will be ok! Looking forward to Book 11.

Rachel has an unusual task to figure out why these murders are happening, they are saying accidents. She is determined, and has the ability of knowing what the killer think. I like that nothing seem to deter Rachel, and the toll it takes on her to get answers. Good riveting series. Given arc for my voluntary review

I'm really enjoying the main plot line of this series. Im glad to see there is 3 more books coming out as well. I'm not ready to say goodbye to Rachel just yet. As for the plot in this story I found it to be a bit repetitive as she always seems to know how the killer is feeling as she can relate...boring.

Absolutely worst editing I've ever seen. Made reading difficult every time there was a completely wrong word or use of a word, or even an odd word thrown in out of context.

I've been following the series so plodded through to see what was happening with the characters.

Great plot, as always but someone needs to do a better job of editing

While I enjoyed the story itself I was distracted by the many many typos and grammar errors. It was as if this was the first version before an editor had even looked at it. A writer should take pride in what they deliver to their readers and this version is nothing to be proud of.

I sincerely hope this was an oversight and that the next story will be carefully edited.

Rachel is battling with all the decisions she has to make and although on medical leave she insists to help Jake in this last case where she sees so much of her afflictions in the culprit. The story has a great plot, it mixes feelings and action at an appropriate level, and it's fast-paced. This could be a 5 star rating book if it were not for the many proofreading mistakes.

Another Twist and Turn for Rachel Gift

I enjoyed this book 📚📖. I am trying to figure out if we are going to have a miracle for Rachel Gift or something else kills her like a person with a twisted sense of good and bad right and wrong. You definitely can't predict what a person would do for love ❤️. It was a good read.

I typically love these books but this one had sooo many grammatical errors. It felt like it was just spell checked vs actually reviewing the book by reading it. There were so many that I could not enjoy the book as much as I usually do. Reading the incorrect words was very distracting.

Really enjoy that this series. Keeps you on edge. Only problem, they need to do a better job of proof reading. Way too many mistakes, which takes away some from the book.

Again, I absolutely love this series but I can’t give this book more than 3 stars. The amount of errors, both grammatically and in the story, bugged me. I will continue to read every book in this series but I wish the author would slow down and edit!

A quick read.
FBI Rachel Gift is currently off duty after her cancer diagnosis. She has recently started dating her old partner. He gets a call about a case of a couple doctors that have been murdered that seem to be connected. Although she’s weak she can’t ignore the pull this case has on her.

I love the books, but the proofreading really, really needs help. There are entire sentences that don't make sense. Otherwise great read!

Book was good, but the editing could have been better. Misspelled words.
