This is the 6th book in the Camille Grace FBI series. Although I did like the book it wasn't has fast paced and intriguing as the others. FBI agents Grace and Palmer are sent to a small town in Alabama to investigate the deaths of women that are being tied to Mangrove trees and left to die when the tide comes in. As with all small towns they have secrets that they would rather not share but in order to solve tis case the police are going to have to tell what they really don't want to.
Yet another author succumbs to the synthesized British accent for their audiobook! The other books were fine aside from some odd pronunciation. This book is set in the deep south!! Why not have a synthesized southern accent...or at the very least American English. It's distracting to have an accent that doesn't match the setting of the book!
This book is very fast paced and easy to read. I loved the story and the characters in it and the hint of a romance. It was based in the Louisiana area and was quite descriptive but not overly done. I am already reading her next one in this series and will be sad to see it close, but she has many more interesting series for me to get into so I will be reading these for a while..lol
I enjoyed the book, a good read. I didn't feel it was right to go after the temporary help at the police station, she did her job, it was the cop who didn't do his. I was glad she was a survivor.
Was looking for a short audiobook and found this on Libby. I liked the setting of the story and thought that the murders were unique. Overall though I was pretty indifferent to the story, I didn’t love it and thought that the writing sounded amateur.
3.3 Same formula as the others in the series. Solve a mediocre case miraculously. A ‘will they won’t they’ with the two main characters and a potential love interest. Audiobook narration is pretty bad similar to the others with both voices and quality but a very easy read
