The heart questions what Alex cannot

Alex knows two things are
Horse racing is everything, and she loves it hard-- the way she loves Dejado Augustun.
But when her best friend, Caroline Daves starts dating Johnathan North, Alex is forced to realize the extent of her feelings.

n turmoil, Alex once again turns to horse racing to find her center and solace. Both Venus Nights and Dreamer’s Song prove worthy distractions as they make their final preparations for the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks. Even Alex's kid sister, Gina, proves useful for once.

But when Dejado and John take Alex & Carol to their senior proms, Alex is unable to cope while watching Carol with someone else. Despite being distraught over her feelings, Alex buckles down and finds the drive to ride out the mad six weeks that is the Triple Crown.

Can she make it through with her heart still intact? Especially when it's already so fragile...

On the heels of Joanna Campbell’s beloved Thoroughbred Series, and Walter Farley’s Black Stallion, comes a brand new young adult horse racing series that will sweep you away like a runaway Thoroughbred.

Scroll up and one-click INQUIRY, the tenth novel in Ann Hunter’s best-selling series NORTH OAK, to jump into Alex’s world today.

Enjoyable continuation of the North Oak saga, but not for those who cannot deal with adolescent trauma and tragedy. A good read for teachers and youth ministers.
