There are two sides to every argument...Her side...Alexis ‘Lexi’ Marigold is an accomplished criminal defense attorney in California who has spent her entire life admiring and following in her father’s footsteps, even partnering and then taking ownership of his law office. When he unexpectedly passes away, it is a hard blow to her everyday existence, and she copes the only way she knows how by burying herself in her work. So, she is looking forward to letting off a little steam at the upcoming annual Criminal Defense Lawyers conference in St. Louis. His side...Garrett Robicheaux is a power player amongst New England’s criminal defense attorneys. After many years of living his life to the fullest and working to become a partner in Boston’s preeminent law firm, Garrett begins questioning where this journey has brought him with the realization of how unfulfilled he is in his personal life. Although the yearly conference will not be much of a reprieve from his career-focused existence, it will be a welcome break from his every day stresses. And when fate stubbornly intervenes...Luck seems to be in Lexi’s favor when she stumbles across this handsome stranger with the dreamiest blue eyes, Garrett, who is equally as pleased when his lovely distraction comes in the form of this stunning blonde with a twinkle in her eyes and an overwhelming attraction follows. Both quickly recognize there are emotions that exist beyond the physical, and hesitation develops as a relationship does not fit in either’s busy life, let alone each residing on their respective coasts. However, when chance keeps bringing them together, they begin questioning each other’s motives along with their own...should they give in to their temptations in spite of their objections? Which one will prevail in the end, or will they be guided to a truce?

“I have such an active imagination and I truly enjoy transcribing it into words. As I am writing, the people, places, and things come to life before me and I completely lose myself. Writing is my meditation. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Thank you and happy reading.”

C. R. Lemons is a native Texan who requires a cup of coffee to function, must have background music playing for concentration, and enjoys her life full of laughter. As a child, she would sneak her mom’s romance novels and lose herself in them. Her love of writing started through poetry in her teens. C. R. Lemons always had an active imagination and dreamt of sharing it through writing. This dream finally came true with her first novel, Getting Him Off Quickly (Getting Him Off Series, Book 1), and continues with her published catalog full of romance, thrillers, and poetry. As an award-winning author, she excels at writing literary stimulation, one word at a time. For the latest list of books by C. R. Lemons, please visit her website at http://www.crlemons.com.

Cute story about 2 lawyers who meet at a conference, both challenged to get out of the rote routine that is their life. One, buried in her work, the other resigned to a passionless marriage. On meeting sparks fly, but life and obligations, get in the way of the passion ignited between them. Will this be the push they both need to recognize the changes they need to make in their lives? Told from the perspective of both characters, the author gives you insight into the interior struggles of both, while keeping the overall tone light.

Is there a book 2??? I need to go find out. I hope there is, because I am not ready to say goodbye to Garrett and Lexi. I've read books with multiple POV's, but not one quite like this. I enjoyed the 'His Side', 'Her Side' POV's. Objections Overruled has a lot of intense moments, with a delicious amount of "squirming in your seat" moments.

Captivating read. Enjoyed this new-to-me author whose writing style kept me engrossed. The multiple POV’s added depth to the story, and brought the characters to life right off the pages. Light yet with sizzling undertones, taking root in your imagination and keeping you turning the pages from start to finish.

Enjoyed this quick read! Characters blended well as they teased each other to a point of no return. Both not looking for something more in their lives and finding it in an unexpected place, found you cheering them on to get together. Spontaneous play is always a bonus to read. Will be reading more of this author!
