NOTE: This book comes with an app. I have not used the app, rather the book.

As a student who took German for three university years, I must say that this book is ok. It teaches the following:

-Daily objects
-Food
-Question phrases
-Casual phrases
-Life in Germany
-German culture

But, it lacks in teaching things like plurals, past tenses, or sentence building.

Nonetheless, if you are visiting, studying, or preparing to live in Germany or Austria, this is a helpful book. Just do not rely on this book only.v

It wasn’t too bad, but some of the words were different than my German friends use, & different from what I learnt on Duolingo (which I’m assuming is up to date & how the locals speak). It was printed in 2005 & this updated edition in 2018, so it’s perhaps a little outdated, but you will still pick up useful things. It does also have the free app so you can go on & hear the pronunciation (I find hearing it more helpful than the phonetics underneath each word).
