And in my tiny, upper-class town, everyone wants the Savage Six. Whether it’s to be them, beat them, or f*ck them depends on who you ask.

But for me… it’s Cole Callahan that I want.

The Savage Society’s unofficial leader—and my dad’s best friend.

He pretends I don’t exist… at least until my eighteenth birthday.

That’s when everything changes, and this dangerous, ruthless man decides that I’m his.

His to worship.
His to pleasure.
His to own.

Cole’s got big plans for our future—permanent plans that he won’t let me say no to.

But we’ve got bigger problems as a new rival threatens the Savage Society and Cole’s position in it. War’s coming, and my hitman boyfriend’s about to learn what ‘til death do us part really means…

This is a steamy dad's best friend, age gap DARK romance with triggers and themes often found in these types of books. You can find a full list of trigger warnings at the start of the book.

Hi! I’m Heather.

It’s great to meet you! I’m a socially-awkward introvert who loves love stories. I’m not awesome at singing or keeping my house clean, but I somehow find the time to obsessively read romance novels. I consider it one of my many talents.

In my opinion, you can never have too many books (or french fries…), messy buns are a girl’s best friend, and I’d probably die without my laptop. If I wasn’t over-committing myself to future stories or procrastinating to meet my deadlines, I’m not quite sure what I’d do with myself.

Be sure to find all sorts of sneak peeks and my more than likely cuss-word filled rantings over on the blog. Oh, and if you’re a fan of getting in the mood to read and connecting to the characters that way, check out the playlists that accompany each story in the “Playlists” tab.

Peace, love, and abs for days.

Five shining stars! ☆☆☆☆☆

Fallon has always been in love with her dad's best friend, Cole. On her 16th birthday she asked him to give her her first kiss but he said no. Two years later, Fallon is abruptly engaged in an arranged marriage to Cole's enemy. As soon as she turns 18, Cole goes after her with everything he has.

This was a kinky, romantic, suspenseful book! Cole is sooo jealous/possessive over Fallon. She is his perfect counterpart. Regardless of their large age gap, they were made for each other.

Also, I love the dedication below. Way to call me out, Heather Ashley!! 🤣

"To all the girls who spent their childhoods dreaming about that older guy…
The one you knew would ruin you if only he got the chance."

I really enjoyed reading this. I'm a sucker for age gaps and forbidden love, this book has a bit of everything!

safety/triggers:
virgin heroine
age gap

dubcon
breeding
somnophilia
forced preg
kidnapping
cockwarming/swaddling
blood play

HEA ♡

EDIT 10/14/22- I changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 because I cannot get this book out of my mind. I need more recs like it omg. So good!!!

Being used as a bargaining chip in her father’s attempt to reclaim his power, Fallon Ashwell has been given to rival and Fallen Angels MC leader, Anton Leven.

Having waited for years to claim Fallon, Cole Callahan must now make his move in order to keep her out of their enemy’s clutches. With his decision made, nothing will stand in his way - not Anton, not Tristen, not even Fallon.

I love an alphahole hero with no fçuks to give and Cole fits the bill. This was recommended to me for the somno and it was meh. Overall it’s a good read with lots of potential for the series as a whole. I’m a sucker for a forbidden storyline and if things continue in that direction, I’m all in!

Oh do please tell me more about how the 36 year old man is ALREADY in love with a 16 yr old girl in the effing PROLOGUE.

So now not only have you killed every bit of any kind of tension in the first few pages (because of course she’s in love with him too 🙄) you’ve also outed your hero as a creep of epic proportions. When exactly did this Friend of Her Father fall in love with a teenage girl? 🧐 When did this attraction start? 🤔 What the hell could they POSSIBLY have in common? 😒 Besides that he’s apparently into teen girls and she’s one of them. He sounds like a real winner. 👍🏻👍🏻

I guess I’ll give props for laying out his character in the first page. 🤷🏼‍♀️

She's 16 and he's lusting after her. Like, BAD. So bad. Super DUPER bad. and hes like.....36? 38?

Listen linda! A change in cover picture from a 17 year old boy to a 28 year old manly boy still won't change the fact that this 38 year old is giving those creepy Samuel L. Jackson staring eyes vibe (if you know that GIF then you know 😂)

Yo. Guess what I did after about 1 chapter. Guess 🤔 starts with a d. And no, I was not dicked down.

Um a lot of nothing

Well not sure how this will play out. After several chapters of nothing and skimming I decided I will stop. Since there is over 50 chapters in this book I for see more of the nothing happening that I've already read.

To each their own give it a try.

Things I liked about this book:
1. Cole! What’s not to love about an OTT J/P MMC who won’t take no for an answer?
2. The smexy scenes and the chemistry between Fallon and Cole. So hot 🥵
3. The forced pregnancy! I’m a sucker for this trope!

Things I didn’t like:
1. The godawful cover! The guy on the cover looks like like an emo kid in HS, but he’s supposed to be a rugged 36 year old. One of my biggest pet peeves is when there’s a person on the cover but they don’t match the description of the characters.
2. Plot holes galore! Honestly there were just too many to name. But I felt like I was missing a lot of information. Like there was BARELY any info on the Savage Six, the secret society that Cole and Fallon’s dad are a part of. Maybe this will be fleshed out in other books down the line, but basically all we got was: they are rich badasses who commit unnamed crimes in the name of making a profit. I would have liked more background info on the society and each member.
3. The ending felt rushed and didn’t make a lot of sense. Again, maybe it will make more sense as the series continues, but as it was I felt like there was still a lot left to be said.

I’ll for sure read the next book though. I think this series has a lot of potential.

OTT JP goodness

Age gap? BIIIIIIIG Check. OTT? Check. Protectiveness? Check. Breeeeeding😈? Check check check 😉

Fallon (16-18) has always thought that her father’s best friend was handsome. In fact, on her 16th birthday, she asks Cole (34-36) to take her first kiss 😬. Cole, being the “I-need-to-wait-until-she’s-18” man that he is, tells her that he can’t… she’s too young 😅 and decides to wait for her to turn 18 before he makes his move.

And move he does make when she turns 18 👀. The night of her 18 party, he claims what he’s been waiting to claim 👀 and Fallon is ecstatic 👏🏻. Fiiiiiinally she be with the man she’s been wanting to be with 🫶.

But there’s a loooot of tension going on with the Savage Society, her “family”, the one her dad and Cole are a part of (specifically, they’re considered part of the Savage Six). Their rival, the Fallen Angels, aren’t going to make their lives any easier 😒 and the Savage Society needs to make things right.

What I liked/loved: possible spoilers
—the 🔥. Yeah. I should’ve started with something warm and fluffy, but ima be honest here 🤣 the 🔥 was 🥵. Cole has decided he wants a future with Fallon, and he’s claiming her in all ways possible 😮‍💨. At like 12/13% we get a first glimpse at all Cole is willing to do to make sure she’s his 🫣 and by 30%, he solidifies it 🔥💦

—breeeeeding 😉. Cole is obsessed with making sure his future with Fallon is secured, and he wants a family with her 😅. So, he’s gots to do what he’s gots to do 🤷‍♀️ and Fallon has to real way of preventing it from happening 🥵🤣😅

—surprised marriage 🤣. Imagine one day waking up and your boyfriend takes you to get married… yeah. That’s what happens here 🤣 but don’t worry. Her dad is there too 🫶

—OMD 😈. Fallon’s dad wants to buy time with their enemies, so he agrees to having Fallon get engaged to a Fallen Angel 😅 but Cole isn’t gonna let another man touch what’s his 🤷‍♀️

—OTT JP and protectiveness ❤️. If Cole could bubble wrap Fallon, he would 🫶. He’ll do anything for her 🥹

—how close the MC club is ❤️. They’re like a real family

—the side characters 👀. I can’t wait to continue this series (Beckett’s book is next 👏🏻)

—Cole remains celibate for Fallon as soon as he sees her as more than just his best friend’s daughter 👏🏻

—the sweet stuff 🫶. It’s not all just 🔥. Cole can be so swoony 🥹

What i didn’t like/wanted more of:
—Fallon’s mom 😑. She needed to get her comeuppance 🤬

—although I know Cole needed to wait for Fallon to turn 18, man… I wish things could’ve been sped up 😅

Overall, I loved it

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no cheating*/sharing
-violence/bloodshed/graphic torture/deaths
-OMD- the h has a boyfriend and catches him cheating- she breaks up with him. Another OM2 makes threatening remarks to the h. The h’s dad is arranging for her to marry OM3. OM3 causes lots of drama
-the h’s mom continually cheats on the h’s dad
-mild OWD- the h’s MOM (you read that right) sleeps with her “fiancé” the night of her “engagement”; later on she implies she slept with the H. It upsets and makes the h throw up. When she confronts the H, he gets grossed out and says he would NEVER 🥹
-virgin h/celibate H
-dubcon (some might say noncon 😬)
-breeding/biting/marking/somnophilia/c warming/hand necklace/praise kink/p slapping (more like clit slapping lol)/edging/knife play?blood play
-no condoms (breeding)
-HEA/HFN/epilogue/2 months later
-it’s obvious we’ll be seeing this couple in future books

This is my first read by Heather Ashley and it certainly won’t be my last!
This book is deliciously dark with just a bit of taboo. I loved Fallon as a heroine. She’s tough, she has a fake persona that she puts on for the world at school, and she’s the perfect daughter of a mafioso. Cole is delightfully dark and disturbed, and he’s known for a while now that he plans to make Fallon his. This is a dad’s best friend romance, and he’s a little worried that his friendship with his best (and, well, only) friend will be damaged by the fact that he plans to marry his daughter asap.
All the men in the Savage Six are powerful, dark, and disturbed. There’s violence and some very gruesome bits in this book that aren’t for the faint of heart. All six of the men are perfectly positioned for their own taboo relationships, from the fact that Beckett has just taken on a job as a professor to how Xander was recently ordained.
I’m eagerly awaiting the next in the series - I love the professor/student trope, and the fact that Beckett’s a serial killer makes it even more fascinating. I can’t wait!
5 stars.

Alright, I'm going to be completely honest in this review.
This book in one word? Boring.
Did this really need 300 hundred pages and *checks notes* 52 chapters? Absolutely not.

Halfway through it, I just started skimming through the rest because there was no point in the story anymore. By the end, it was just drama (really bad drama), after drama, it was ridiculous. . It was pure bullshit. We know the hero is going to come rescue her anyways. They're gonna kiss, he's gonna say "you're mine" or some shit like that and it's done. My point is: there's nothing exciting about it. It's like reading the same thing over and over again.

I'm alright with insta-love stories, but I don't think you can drag them on forever. At some point, the magic is going to wear off, right? And in this book that happens pretty quickly. So why keep going? In my opinion, what makes an insta-love novel good is the author knowing exactly when the story should end so that 1) the reader is not bored 2) it leaves the reader wanting more. It's all about the balance, which I think this book lacks. If I were the editor, I would've probably cut this in half. Too many pointless chapters that don't add absolutely anything to the plot because, let's be honest, there is no plot by the end... Maybe if the steamy scenes were good I would've given this 2 stars, but nope. Not even that. They were also pretty 'meh' at best.

All in all, if this book had been 100-150 pages long, maybe it would've been better. Only slightly better because the writing isn't the best. The characters aren't really likable either. Secondary characters were completely unremarkable as well, so I don't see myself reading the upcoming books in this series any time soon. Not for me!

Don't you just love it when every tiny town in America just happens to be filled with secret societies, that consist of a group of men, who for some ungodly reason think of themselves as ruthless rulers of their empire. They always magically have billions of dollars, don't have to abide by any rules of society, are kind of businessmen, but also trained killers with a mental capacity of a 13 year old bully. These little shithole towns, or tenderly called kingdoms by our vicious secret society members seem to be cut off from civilization, as all enemies reside inside the town border. The sheriff is on a payroll, but FBI doesn't exist, higher powers are absent, there seems to be no government or surveillance or anything outside of the kingdom's reality. Now, I don't know about you, but this setup makes me think about a bunch of institutionalized clinically insane patients, who forgot to take their daily cocktail of meds.

The hero thinks of himself too highly, is always boasting about how he's THE shit, or how cool he is, how ruthless, controlling, how everyone and everything will bow down to the greatness that is his measly persona. I like reading about assholes, possessive and obsessive jerks, it's entertaining. But those traits have to come through actions and not words, or constant mental diarrhea. Otherwise it will come off as whiney and pathetic.

This was clearly written just to showcase the smut tropes and the plot came second. And I just have no patience for that.

I need someone else to read this because I need a second opinion. I'm giving it 3 benefit of the doubt stars. I do know I loved the age gap, but I wasn't a superfan of the MMC.

"I want you because you were born to be mine. You were raised to stand by my side, the perfect queen to my king. The only woman who knows our world and doesn't shy away from it. You. Are. Mine."

On her sixteenth birthday Fallon Ashwell (18, virgin, high school student) asked her dad's BFF to be her first kiss. He obviously rejects her, so she proceeds to love him from afar for the next two years.

Cole Callahan (36, assassin, member of Savage 6) has lusted after his BFF's daughter since she asked him to be her first kiss. Now that she's turned eighteen, he's ready to claim her..... except, her dad has promised her to someone else to gain mafia-ish favors.

Cole stakes a claim, breeding, broken engagements, daddy issues, revenge porn, whore mothers, a kidnapping, some weird stuff, and an HFN.

SEX: Some somno-ish stuff happens at 14% and it's fucking hot! There's no full penetration, just the tip, but sex wise, that was the best part of the whole book. You know I was 100% on board with that. He takes her V at 30% and I can't say I was impressed. It was one of those where I blinked and then was like, "wait, did he climax?" There were a few other times, but they usually involved pain and that's not my kink.

COLE: There was actually a lot I didn't like about him. While I do love a good breeding kink, I wasn't crazy about it in this one because she's still in high school. Then, I just felt he was more on the mean side than caring side. For example, the issues between FMCs and food is something I read about in a lot of fics. Where most of the MMCs are trying to get their FMCs to eat because they want them to be healthy, Cole doesn't. He demands that she let him feed her by hand, and when she refuses, he tells her that she won't eat at all and tells the school not to serve her any meals. This is the woman you want to carry your child and you're going to let her starve? Then he does the normal demanding shit that all alpha-holes do, but I guess it just bothered me more because she's so young. Anyway - I found him to be more of a douche.

BUSINESS: I'm pretty sure Cole runs a club full of assassins? It sounds like everyone in the Savage 6 are in some sort of illegal businesses.

WRITING: I can't say the writing was the best, and there were a lot of things I wish we had more answers on. Some of it was silly because she's 18 and acts 18, and he's talking about her being a queen to run his empire. It just doesn't mesh well in my head.

AUDIO: I don't recommend it. Wen Ross and Kylie Stewart are the narrators and I'm curling my lip at them. I know I had more to say about it, but I've slept since then.

I recommend one of you read this and let me know what you think. I'm about 50/50 if I want to read the next book in the series.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

This was a fun and spicy dad's best friend romance with some mafia/crime family/secret society vibes.

Cole realized he wanted his best friend's daughter when she was 16 years old (so this may not be for everyone), but he waits till she turns 18 to make her his woman.

Fallon has been obsessed with Cole for years, but she felt like he would never want her. Now, her father has arranged a marriage with a rival and this forces Cole to move up his timeline.

Cole is part of the Savage 6, a group of friends who run the criminal empire of Emerald Hills. I was intrigued by this group of ruthless men and would be interested in continuing.

I did think this resolved the drama of Cole falling for his best friend's daughter too early in the book, so there was no real angst or conflict for half of the book.

This had some great breeding kink that I love.

the book wasn’t necessary bad but it also didn’t have me absolutely gripped to the edge of my seat like some other reviews have been saying. the plot was sort of all over the place, rushed in some areas dull in others but i guess all books have there pro’s and con’s. the mmc was just way to over possessive for my liking. but i honestly did like the fmc. she wasn’t overly aggressive or sour. not a cry baby or very stubborn. but i found the build up, tension and chemistry between the two characters was lacking a TON! (definitely felt like something was missing from the story leaving me feeling incomplete) and being 16 in the prologue was kind of a turn off for me. a 30 something year old man pinning after a 16 year old? 🤯

some how i still found a bit of interest and read all the way to the end. i mean the book wasn’t life changing and i think I’d be okay if i never discovered it but somehow I’m kind of glad i did. I’ll probably end up reading the other books in the series as well. 😂

More Like 3.5 Stars but i rounded it to 3 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sometimes i forget FMC was in Highschool..
Like she's literally got married and pregnant while still HS!
And i don't know how to feel towards that shit?!

BTW... this book is kinda ended up in cliffhanger so I mean the real main villain/maybe we called it mastermind is still out there, well I get it since this will be a series.

And there's fucking a lot repeatation monologue/dialogue, like while I'm reading it the paragraph I thought I read it for twice cuz the words keep repeating.

He called her Little Lamb, but for me she's not even a lamb... well she might be a lamb if you compare it to Cole but among her friends she is the definite example of how wolf would be.

Also, i don't fucking get it why her father who had mighty friends need to be make his daughter to become his pawn so he could buy time...? Huh?🤨
Cause Cole keeps saying that boy(Anton) is out of their league so why bother to pretend pawn your daughter why just not end that lil shit earlier if that was easy for you.
LIKE WHY???????

This one was okay. Fallon has had a crush on her fathers best friend forever at her 16th birthday she made a wish she wanted a kiss from him. He said no because she's 16. Mind you, he likes he'd, but her age and his best friend are her dad, so he pushes her away. This did give me a ick because if she wasn't his bff daughter would he? Now 2 years pass she has a bf who cheats on her and she gives her word to her father she helps him by getting engaged to an enemy. This sets Cole off because she's always been his. Now she's 18 he can claim her, so he does.

And what bugs me is Fallon had no backbone to push Cole away. She gave In so easy I would hope she make Cole earn her. But nope, he bulldozed into everything.

Idk if I'll read the rest of the series. It seems like the dad has the hots for the best friend.

Ow/om drama, cheating (not between mains) drama, slight secondarycharacter, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

Beautiful Carnage is book 1 in the Savage Society of Emerald Hills and an ok book for me. I liked the concept of the book, but the delivery was a mess. I found the constant talk of the Savage Six and what they're capable of ridiculous. I also thought Tristan's reaction to Cole with his daughter totally unbelievable. While yes, he attacked Cole it was over and done with too quickly IMO. Also, the villain Mom story line was nonsense. Now with that said I do plan to try again with this series because I would like to read Tristan's book especially if he's with Waverly.

This book came highly recommended and it was exactly as the poster promised. Cole is not a good man and blocks Fallon’s wishes, she’s too young, and his best friends daughter, so totally off limits. But after her eighteenth birthday when she is promised to someone else, a switch flips in Cole and the gloves come off.
My friend promised me the following and she was right on the money with this story!

Beautiful Carnage is what is my heart and I think the author did an amazing job at that. This book was incredible and messed up which is quite similar to how I like it.

The story is about Fallon and Cole, it has tropes like fathers best friend, age gap, there is a gang, and lots of br33ding.

Wonderful story and it had an HEA and this story actually had what I love. They didn't break up with each other and instead there was other plot drama which I loved and what I aim to write as well.

Great job to the author for being progressive and realizing conflict isn't just a breakup scene or two.

I couldn’t put this one down! I was hooked from the opening paragraph and read it in one sitting. It was fast paced with plenty of sexy times and a suspenseful plot. Be aware of the TW because this is a dark romance!

Let’s talk about Cole for a second. He is delicious, possessive, dominating, dangerous, sexy, and the epitome of morally grey. I’m sure I could think of more adjectives to describe the sexiness that is Cole, but I’ll leave it at those. The way he feels about Fallon goes beyond love: she is the center of his universe. I love the bond those two have. Fallon has always been independent and strong, growing up with a father in the Savage Six. She didn’t back down from Cole, even though she gave in to his demands (I mean - who wouldn’t?). She didn’t give in because she’s weak. Rather, Fallon realized she didn’t have to always rely on herself or wear her carefully crafted facade because Cole would always be there. Cole took charge, giving her the freedom to just be. Cole knew he found an equal in Fallon. She embraced him wholly, darkness and all. She’s the queen to his king.

Heather Ashley has a way with words that simply sucked me in. “It’s like lightning strikes and I’m turning to ash, blowing away on the wind of a hurricane.”

I can’t wait for Beckett’s story! And Tristan’s and the rest of the six

i have thoughts. first of all, it’s fucking WEIRD as FUCK that the book starts off when she’s 16. BRO. BRO. BROOOOOOOOOOOOO. SHES SIXTEEN. THAT’S FUCKING CRAZY. NAH. the way cole is talking about a 16 year old…. JAIL. IMMEDIATELY. LIFE SENTENCE. so lovely start to the book already!😍 fallon keeps talking bout how hot he looks in a suit… mf needs to be in an orange jumpsuit! JAIL! bro the way this man did not let fallon have one SECOND to think about shit to herself. bro. the way that he’s like “i’m going to fuck u now” & she’s like “wait” and then he goes no and fucks her anyway?? JAIL. RIGHT NOW. bro i had to take a second to myself and really rethink what the FUCK i had just read after reading that. OH AND WHEN HE LITERALLY FUCKING FINISHES IN HER WHEN SHES FUCKING SLEEPING???? like ok slay if there’s like consent but there fr wasn’t any consent here. the reason i found this book is thru tik tok, n the comments mentioned somno & cmc in regards to this specific scene, but like… there was no pre-established like lil discussion where she ever mentioned she would consent to that??? LIKE BRO?? JAIL! (take a shot every time i said jail in this review :p) he’s also fucking obsessed w her having kids, and when she says she’s uncomfortable w having kids rn he’s basically like nah fuck u we’re having kids. BRO. SHE’S 18. IN HIGH SCHOOL. HAS NOT EVEN GRADUATED YET. NOT OK! GIRL IS BARELY FUCKING LEGAL AND YOU ARE A 36 YEAR OLD MAN. ONCE AGAIN, JAIL! the lack of consent in this book just made me extremely uncomfortable guys tbh!! :p not a vibe.
