The huge alien orc who runs the pub on Elora Station knows what he wants for Christmas: me.
MAGGIE
Seeing my friend Sophie find happiness on the bustling Elora Station is just the kick in the pants I need to follow my dreams. I’m finally going to open my own bakery. When a coveted rental space opens up on the festive commerce station, I jump at the chance.
I have my work cut out for me getting the bakery ready in time for Elora Station’s busiest season: Christmas. I don’t mind – I’m used to hard work.
What I’m not used to?
Having a flirtatious, grinning orc all up in my business. Literally. The absurdly-named Archibald runs the pub next to my bakery, and he spends more time in my shop than his own.
Sure, he’s attractive in a giant, muscly, boisterous sort of way. He’s also funny and kind and shockingly generous. But I need to focus. A girl’s gotta have priorities.
And those priorities absolutely do not include falling head over heels in love with an alien orc at Christmas.
This is somehow the third orc romance book I've read this month and this was definitely the hottest orc so far so...there's that. This was the sweetest lil' Christmas novella. I'd give it like a 4/10 on the Christmas scale, because the book was set around Christmas and there was definitely Christmas-ness in the story, but it wasn't exactly the focus of the story.
As always with Ursa Dax's books, I was giggling and heehee-ing the entire time. I adored both the FMC, Maggie, and the MMC, Archie. Maggie moved to Elora Station to open up a bakery by Christmas. Archie is the owner of the pub directly next to her new bakery. Archie ends up being the sweetest cinnamon roll orcy man and does everything to help and support her.
This is veeerrry low angst and there are absolutely no safety warnings needed!!
Holiday book #3 for 2025.
preread
I was going to read a contemporary romance after my last read, but I need to read the second Holiday Romances of Elora Station immediately!!!!
The second book in the Elora Station series is as cute as the first, with much more creative dick building. A pub owner Orc meets a human bakery owner and insta-love happens. Archie is adorably eager and gives golden retriever vibes trying to impress his woman with feats of strength and frequently finding reasons to take off his shirt. The humour in this one was well done with lots of silliness from the Orc and his family. It’s a short Christmas read and much steamier than the last, this Orc has three knots, each producing its own fluid. So maybe hot, kinda gross… *spoiler* he has to buy her a new couch. A nice, low angst book for a cozy night by the fire.
It started off strong with beautiful descriptions of the environment, the initial meeting between the two MCs which was absolutely adorable, the short cameos of Sophie and her chimera husband - X who are characters from a previous full length novel that sparked my curiosity about their own book (tbr tbr). The setting was intriguing along with a few details about the world they inhabit - laser teeth cleaner aaaaaaa gimme!!!
Considering how short this book is I knew I had to manage my expectations when it came to their chemistry build up, and while I was okay with seeing them fall in love and lust on an expedited timeline, what fell flat for me were the dialogues between them. It felt immature, flat and frankly like those two MCs were reciting lines someone else gave them especially during their sex scenes. It was surprising considering how good Ursa's writing seemed to be independent of that. Only a few dialogues were beautiful. This book had more potential.
I'd still recommend reading this one (on KU if it's available) if you have not much to do on a nice, cosy Sunday afternoon, especially because I loved the 🍆creative cock🥒 Ursa came up with for our leading man and it's worth daydreaming about long after the book is over 😌👏 It's only been 2-3 days(?) since I finished this book and while I may have already forgotten the names of our MCs, I will never forget the description and the function of that wonderful cock (before you get your hopes wayyy up, I'll tell you that it's a simple cock that has a bit of a fun surprise. That's all..nothing too crazy but definitely one worth thinking about from time to time 🥴) 4 stars for you, well hung Orc machine. I appreciate you. 🤠
All kinds of adorable and fluffy alien and holiday romance happening here. Such a cute read and both Maggie (h) and Archie (H) were sweet and likable. No angst at all, just a human woman moving to a space station and opening a bakery next door to an orc owned pub. That orc owner is immediately smitten and helps her get set up before pursuing her romantically. Some humor, a touch of feels, and a bit of holiday spirit (although you might not think of a snowman the same way again 👀). Also a couple of steamy scenes (Archie’s rocking some extra in his pants btw) along with their budding romance and then the story ends with their HEA, showing them a year into the future in love and happy. Maggie’s BFF, her husband, and child are in the story (her friend is apparently from book 1) and Archie’s sister and cousin also make appearances. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, neither appeared to be virgins but no history, bc not discussed but thought about by h.
back at the space station following 𝓂𝒶ℊℊ𝒾ℯ a baker opening up her own bakery and 𝒶𝓇𝒸𝒽𝒾ℯ who owns a pub next door. this was so funny and cute love love love!!!
I feel like a lot of alien stories have human women being taken from Earth, but this one doesn’t! Maggie was born on another planet and comes to this one to fulfill her dream of opening a bakery.
I wanted a little more of seeing them falling for each other. I feel like we’re told a bit more than we see their conversations and moments every day, but it was still a sweet and festive read!
Awww what a giant teddy bear Archie was! He was utterly devoted from day one and determined to help Maggie set up her bakery before Christmas. I loved his silly competitiveness with X and how he would whip his shirt off anytime he could think of an excuse to impress Maggie. They were adorbs together. Super cozy little Christmas novella
This was a 3.5 ⭐️ for me. It’s a sugary sweet little holiday insta-love romance that just happens to take place on a space station…that is also a mall. Also he’s and alien and an orc. No angst. Bakery cuteness. Also his 🍆is very originally designed. 😂 totally cute and enjoyable.
✨ “I intend to woo you within an inch of your gorgeous human life.” ~~~ Maggie is such a kind and sweet woman. And since she was a child, she’s been dreaming of owning a bakery. I loved how hardworking and dedicated she was to achieve her goals. Even more, I loved how witty and spirited she is. Maggie is such an amazing woman and I loved her so much.
Archie is the owner of a pub - The Middle’s Guardian. He’s one huge, confident, charming, funny, generous and absolutely irresistible male who often has the tendency to lose his shirt. I loved how warm, open and friendly he is. And he’s such a flirt! Even more, I loved that he knows what he wants and is not hesitant to go after it. I couldn’t help but absolutely adore everything about this giant green alien goofball!
The development of Maggie and Archie’s relationship was so wonderful! Maggie is determined to focus only on building up her business. And the last thing she expects is a giant pub owner to waltz his gorgeous green butt into her life. From the moment they met, their attraction was undeniable. And I really enjoyed the time they spent together, Arche helping her to prepare her bakery for opening on Christmas. Even more, their chemistry was fantastic and their banters were so much fun to read. Arche trying to impress her and competing with X was so adorable and genuinely made me smile. I loved how supportive the huge orc was and that he was always there for her, making even the most stressful situations more manageable. And then they finally gave in to their undeniable need for one another, the spice was off-the-charts hot. Archibald Mountainbound is a male of many talents and comes with a very, VERY special equipment.
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! I loved the festive spirit of the story and was so happy to meet Sophie and X again. I also loved Archie’s sister so much! And the epilogue was so sweet and absolutely perfect!
Overall, the story is another wonderful addition to the series and a wonderful holiday read. It’s sweet, spicy and very naughty.
“As much as I’d tried to avoid it, as much as I’d tried to keep my priorities in line... There was no denying it. I was falling in love with an orc on Elora Station.”
This is a short holiday novella, taking place on the Elora space station. The story centers around Maggie, a new resident of the station, as she prepares to open her bakery. She meets Archie, an Orc pub owner, on her first night. The story is very much instalust with a dash of instalove, but in the most non-nauseating way possible. It is a low angst romance, with some high heat towards the end; a perfect holiday romance to read in a day.
-I make it no secret that Deep Space Nine is my favorite Star Trek series, so any time there’s a scifi romance which takes place on a space station, I’m all about it. I loved the world building, I found everything about it to be clever and approachable. The story kind of thrusts the reader into this futuristic timeline, but I never felt lost navigating the plot.
-The two main characters, Maggie and Archie, are super cute; it’s very easy to root for their romance. There is no angst, no miscommunication, and no third act break-up. If you’re looking for a straightforward and spicy romance, you need to check this book out.
I stumbled across Ursa Dax and her romance series after finishing up reading books from another author. I wanted something a bit different from normal romance and decided that Sci Fi romance was the go because anything can go. Let me tell you I really enjoyed them and read the whole series one straight after the other, Alien men in all sizes and shapes, all growly and protective of their mates was just what I needed. Of course, it takes a while for the abducted Human women to come around but that is just part of the fun. Ursa’s world building makes it so easy to imagine the world she has created, and the characters are so easy to fall in love with. If you love Sci Fi romance that is messy, sexy, a little alien erotica and fated mates then Ursa is your gal. I was not disappointed, and I know you won’t be either.
Never gonna look at snowmen sugar cookies the same 🤭
I loved this one almost as much as Sophie & X’s story! (And I loved that they were supporting characters in this one!!)
Archie is too darn sweet 🥹 His ego was a little much for me lol but it was fitting for an orc alien I suppose. He made up for it in his unwavering belief in Maggie and the lengths he went to help her (and woo her) though, it made my chest clench to read him saying how proud he was and how much he believed in her. 🥲 Maggie was a wonderful character too. And the supporting characters were lovely, I would love to see more of them in the future. This was super sweet and very cozy, and the tension and spice were really good too.
Ursa Dax really nailed these holiday romances, I can’t wait to read more from her.
I could not wait until Christmas to unwrap this one and thank goodness because this novella delivered everything I wanted and then some: cozy chaos, filthy flirtation, and enough heart to power a space station.
This book had NO business being this horny and this wholesome. Giant green alien orc with golden retriever energy falls for a sunshiney baker? Immediate yes. The holiday vibes are cozy, the steam is fully turned on, and the flirt game is strong. Oh, and I’m smiling like a lovesick loon because the humour is orc-estrated to perfection.
Ursa Dax, you festive alien genius - I’m obsessed. 5 stars, easily. I’m already planning my re-read this December because nothing says holiday cheer like an orc who wants to rail you and feed you cookies. 💚🎄
Another cute standalone holiday read in the Elora Station Romance series. This book features Sophie’s (heroine from book 1) friend Maggie who’s slowly adapting to her new life. She’s got her eyes set on opening a bakery and luckily she has a ready and willing Orc whose willing to help in more ways than one. While I wouldn’t say this is exactly instalove, the hero simply gets a single glance and he’s smitten, the heroine takes a bit more time to get to know him. This is novella length so it’s not long at all before they’re contaminating her kitchen christening her new shop and celebrating Christmas.
This was a great novella! I really loved both the MCs. It felt very sunshinexsunshine. Didn’t hate the insta-love but I also didn’t love it. Great chrismasssy read
"You should know that once you're settled here and the shop is open, I intend to woo you within an inch of your gorgeous human life."
This book was so sweet, overly so that it was just not my cup of tea.
Maggie bought a space in the station intending to make it into her dream bakery. She made friends with the co-owner of the bar next-door, Archie the orc.
Right off the bat, both main characters got instantly attracted to one another. Archie's so down bad for Maggie. He's like a peacock, strutting around his feathers to gather attention, and lowkey that kinda rubbed off me wrong.
Archie's basically a personified cinammon roll here and if you like those, this book is for you.
I did love how they had their priorities straight in setting up the bakery first before they embarked on a relationship, and the added bonus of seeing Sophie and X was really great to see.
4.5 ⭐️ Christmas Spirit!! We love a man who is so down-bad for his lady. The gift-giving? The simping? The way this alien-orc-man was truly excited and happy to do the most for her? I’m melting. Adorable. Ursa Dax, you did it again. Love these two fools.
The alien orc, Archie, was a great book boyfriend. He’s a wonderful example of how to treat a woman. The attraction was instant and his adoration was second nature. Maggie was the queen of his heart and he repeatedly showed it. Great short yet fun romantic read. 3.75 Stars.
I know it’s kind of early to be thinking about the holiday season but hear me out. This book, while centered around Christmas, is the ultimate feel good book. It’s great for any time of year really.
Maggie is the sweetest, most determined FMC that I’ve read in a long time. She gives off total Tiana, from the Princess and the frog, vibes and I am so here for it. I loved watching her work towards her goal of starting her own bakery. As well as seeing her fall in love while doing it.
Archie… well… he’s just the ultimate himbo cinnamon roll and I LOVE him! I mean there is literally nothing about him that isn’t endearing. Everything he does and says just makes me love him more. The snowman in his pants isn’t too bad either!
This book was so very sweet. Making my little icy heart melt and grow just like the Grinch’s. If you’re looking for a minimal angst, feel good novella this book is certainly worth the read.
While I liked the characters, the story itself didn't hook me. It was a bit boring actually. Also this book is a novella, only 112 pages. Why was it a slow burn for a book so short? Add in the random declaration of love at the end and it just didn't work for me. The book wasn't horrible but not great either.
Ch 3 || Hell, when I’d first seen her through the shimmer of the holoscreen door, I’d felt the bursting need to impress her. It was instant and primal. It’s why I’d stripped out of my shirt, hoping the pub’s lighting would lend my form a flattering gleam. lmaoooo he took his shirt off just for her|| Ch 5 ||Archie is so earnest and eager, it’s kinda cute|| Ch 6 ||omg he finds another excuse to take off his shirt 🤣🤣🤣🤣|| Ch 8 ||lmao his sister saying his cookies were her favourite cookies and getting Maggie to write he’s a gigantic knob|| Ch 8 || “You should know,” I said, the words coming out in a commanding rumble, “that once you’re settled here and the shop is open, I intend to woo you within an inch of your gorgeous human life.”|| Ch 9 || I wanted to see if his cock really was shaped like a fucking snowman. Me too, Maggie, me too.|| Ch 10 ||awwwww he stayed up all night hand carving her a sign with her and her grandmother on it???|| Ch 12 || But being in the kitchen wasn’t much better, I realized. Because this was my sacred space! There was no way I was going to get down and dirty right here where the food was prepared. No matter how enticing the image of Archie bending me over the island was... I appreciate this a lot. Kitchens should remain sanitary!|| Ch 12 || are all orc cocks typically shaped like this, or is this just an Ursa Dax thing? Also wow after all the hard work he’s done for you, you won’t clean up his cum puddle??? Really?? lol. Also talk about instalove.|| Overall… ||this was also pretty mid for me. I liked it though! Still 3 stars. Also I was totally okay with him being an orc, I think I could definitely read more orc books.|| ❌ feels

Another cute little holiday novella by Ursa Dax, also taking place on Elora Station. Human Maggie leases shop space on the station and is stressed about getting it prepared and turned into a bakery by Christmas but immediately gets distracted by her neighboring shop/pub owner, orc Archie (yes, Archie the orc).
Honestly the only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 stars is because the pacing was a bit breakneck and gave me whiplash. Unlike Sophie and X in Alien Chimera for Christmas, there's not really any build up or dancing around each other - Over half the novella takes place in the first day and a half they meet and Maggie and Archie are throwing feelings at each other immediately.
Like, they both go HARD on the attraction, especially Archie. Speaking of Archie, he could be seen as smarmy with the way he charms, flirts, and flexes except that he's also a dork, a bit of a doofus, and super sweet so it balances out. Maggie is a little more reserved on the flirting front but wholly into him from the start. Chapter 8 skips to end of week 1 while Chapter 9 skips to after 2 weeks. There's another skip and then Chapters 10-12 are December 23rd and Chapter 13 is Christmas Eve. So yeah, zero buildup, just all instant attraction, a couple check-ins, and then BAM! the story "payoff."
Anyway, even without any building up to a payoff, it was overall cute, fun, lighthearted, and I happily read it and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for the same.
Series: Holiday Romances of Elora Station #2 Rating: 3 stars - I liked it
Maggie has come to Elora Station to follow her dream of opening her own bakery. She is determined to get the shop opening before Christmas but it's a lot of work. What she doesn’t expect is the handsome Orc from the pub next door jumping at chances to help her and flirt with her.
This was another enjoyable Christmas story set at Elora Station. Maggie and Archibald were a very cute couple. Archibald falls for Maggie almost as soon as he sees her. He goes out of his way to spend time with her and help her get her business set up. I really liked how much effort he put into helping her achieve her dream and that he watched over her on opening day.
Maggie was a hard worker who was determined to achieve her dream. I really liked seeing her achieve her dream and find love at the same time. Also I liked that she was Sophie’s friend from Terratribe 1 and we get to see what Sophie and X’s future is like since this takes place a few years after their book.
Overall, this was an enjoyable Christmas story. I have enjoyed Elora Station and would love to read more holiday romances set on this station.
I’m really enjoying Dax’s Elora Station books. The romances are sweetly steamy, and the small details in the world building, especially language, add perfectly your sense of the characters and plot.
Maggie has moved from cold and dreary New Toronto to Elora Station to open up a bakery in the bustling business district. Next door is an amazing pub called the Guardian of the Middle. From the front door, to the food and drink, to the decor, it’s a captivating mix of orcishness and olde Britain. Even more captivating is its 7’ tall owner, an orc named Archie, who — shirtless — is tending bar. Ooooh la la.
He’s so swoony. Funny, flirtatious, and just gosh darn cheerful.
Both Maggie and Archie are quickly smitten but he’s so respectful that they don’t come together until the very end.
The romance was fun to read but what I think I enjoyed even more was how Dax took orc culture in such an interesting direction, especially language-wise. Like cockney, orcish names and descriptions are poetical and have clever double meanings.
Wishes? I wish there were more scenes in the pub, and more info about Archie’s carving.
Recommended as a cozy, fun, sexy read any time of the year (not just Christmas).
Genre & Tropes : Christmas romance x alien x cute romance

A cute Christmas romance on a space station
Well even if the previous book remains my favorite, I read with pleasure this little novella with Maggie, a friend of Sophie (the heroine of the first book that we see again with her child !) who falls under the spell of her neighbor, Archie, who is an orc/alien ! And it was cute but also sexy and full of delicious food <3
In short, a cute Christmas romance perfect for the season !
