Coral Island #3

The Blue Shoal Inn

Rate this book
The Blue Shoal Inn faces its biggest challenge yet. Will it close its doors, or will Taya find a way to save it?

Taya’s inn is under threat. Her father’s company has built a five star resort in Blue Shoal and is taking her business. She renovates the inn, as a last ditch effort to keep it afloat, but will finally have to make a decision about whether to hold onto the past or embrace the future. When her father hires a handsome manager for his new resort, Taya wants to hate him but witnesses him do something unexpected that causes everything she thought she believed to unravel. Rowan reconnects with his estranged stepfather, Buck, but questions still hang over Buck’s head about the murder of Penny’s grandmother. He was once a suspect, but was cleared of any wrongdoing. Still, Penny and her friends do some digging and will discover that not everything is as it seems. When, Rowan and Penny have a decision to make that could mean big changes for both of them, they'll learn a truth about their past that has been hidden for far too long.

The Coral Island series is full of family drama, sweet romance, renewal, mystery, and friendship. This is the third book in the series and ends on a cliff hanger. Be sure to read book 1, The Island, and book 2, The Beach Cottage, before starting this one.

I love this series! This book is a great addition to the series. The book continues with the friends we’ve been introduced to in the previous books. Taya is at a crossroads in her life and deciding whether to sell her inn to her father or not. Penny has started a new relationship. Bea is worried about her son’s health as well as her father’s. There are some secrets that seem to be solved. This book ends in a cliffhanger as the other books have. I can’t wait to read the next in the series. I received an Arc and have voluntarily written my review.

I enjoyed Book 3 in the Coral Island series. In The Blue Shoal Inn, Taya struggles with a BIG decision regarding the Inn she and her late husband began, a decision that will affect her future. Meanwhile, as secrets are revealed and some mysteries are solved, more seem to rise to the surface. Second chances for romance continue. Can Taya find her romance? What will happen to Penny and Rowan now that a BIG mystery is solved--or is it? Will Betsy reveal her secret? A great continuing series with a few twists and turns. This is not a stand alone book. Best to read books 1 and 2 in the series first, and this book also ends in a cliffhanger. I thoroughly enjoyed this clean romance set in Australia and can't wait to read the next book! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

Families change, love is born, and life moves on in Coral Island. The old Inn is getting a facelift, but Taya is tired; plans are made for Penny and Rowan; and the coffee cafe is booming that keeps Bea busy. All things on the Island are the same but different. The mystery that left us in Book Two is back with force. I confess that Harry is in my heart as he loves his Mom: it’s the way it is with mothers and children. This story connects the dots of activities and yet in the end, a name is very important. This author is an excellent writer and I read this book in one day; I just couldn’t put it down. Thanks for giving me a great storyline, wonderful characters and life stories that kept me fully entertained.

Bea's enjoying Harry and Dani summer vacation from university but worries that Harry doesn't seem himself - always pale and tired, Dani's seeing someone and wants to know is she can bring him for the next holiday vacation, Penny is waiting for the results of a DNA test to confirm that the man she suspects really is her father, Taya has renovated the Blue Shoal Inn but will she be able to reopen once the renovations are done or is the cost too high? So many questions plus the ladies are still investigating Penny's grandmother's murder. Lots of twists and turns and a ton of unexpected surprises and reveals. Bea and Penny think they may have found the murderer but everything is just left hanging. Can't wait to read the next book and find the answers. Great read.

This continues the story set up in the first two books and the group of friends living there. Still life isn't straightforward, Thea is struggling with the Blue Shoal Inn, with her father's new hotel opening up next to her and her visitors dwindling. Bea's cafe is still doing well, but she is finding it hard work and Penny's relationship with Rowan is growing. There is still the mystery of the murder in the background and new evidence is coming to light on who may have been responsible. I still have to get my head around the seasons begging the other way round to those in the UK, although even their winter is much warmer than ours. The story ends in a cliffhanger, however this just makes me look forward to the next book in the series.
I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however this did not influence my review of the book.

Cute story - I figured I would read the series since I started. It is fun, mindless reading and the characters all become more developed with each book so definitely should be read in order.
