He’s dangerous. He’s violent. He’s everything I should stay away from.
Viks stormed into my life and he wrecked it. I know bad men. I know what they think. I know how they act. So trust me when I say, that of all the bad men in Eastpoint, I know Viks is the worst of them all.
I tried to be good. I tried to stay away. He kept pulling me back in.
Once a wicked man, always a wicked man.
“In the end there is only darkness. Sometimes we find others in that darkness, and sometimes we lose them there again.” ― Stephen King
Lucy Smoke, also known as Lucinda Dark for her fantasy works, has a master’s degree in English and is a self-proclaimed creative chihuahua. She enjoys feeding her wanderlust, cover addiction, as well as her face, and truly hopes people will stop giving her bath bombs as gifts. Bath’s get cold too fast and it’s just not as wonderful as the commercials make it out to be when the tub isn’t a jacuzzi.
When she’s not on a never-ending quest to find the perfect milkshake, she lives and works in the southern United States with her beloved fur-baby, Hiro, and her family and friends.
I enjoyed this, but didn't love it, just a few things I was hoping more of was his side job, I wanted the nitty gritty side of him to show itself more, everyone was afraid of him, a dangerous man to stay away from was whispered from many people's lips, so I found that just a wee bit of a disappointment.
And everything just felt a wee bit insta for me and I'm sorry I don't do insta. She went from hating him to the next instant not, from nothing to the next instant everything so it felt too rushed for me. I needed more build up, more fire works between them, more background info on the both of them, we know nothing about her other than she is a collage student majoring in art.
Vik's works for a man who runs the town and one not to be crossed so when a new drug on the market is on his turf it's up to Viks to bring him down.
Haley despises everything Vik's stands for, she doesn't hide the fact that she can't stand him, it doesn't make it any easier though when he's her boss when she's put herself in the line of danger she's placed under Vik's protection and this is where things go from slow moving to fast paced so we kind of miss that build up between them.
With that cover and title I expected more..
Just because this book fell flat for me, others before me have loved it, as I said I don't do insta..
This wasn't a BAD book, nor a good book. It was a good one considering how short it was but it's predictable and there are minor grammatical errors which my perfectionist ass couldn't tolerate. Also, the nickname 'Haley girl' and 'Haley baby' felt so unserious and weird.😭
I'm unfortunately not going to pick up the rest of the series because the plot felt weak and didn’t intrigue me in the slightest.
Haley is a kick ass stubborn as hell female character that I adored.
The plot was a good one.
The sex is insanely hot.
The two things I hated was Viks’ nickname “Haley girl” - ugh and the lack of background for both Haley and Viks. I really wanted a bit more about them.
Haley works for Viks. At club Outsider. Viks works for Nicholas Carter, who’s not to be messed with. There’s anew drug being introduced into Carter’s clubs and also on the university campus that Haley attends. Haley hates Viks. Viks loves to irritate Haley. When Haley is attacked, Viks steps in to keep her safe and the results are bloody fireworks !!
Forbidden deviant games by Lucy Smoke ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ive read this book in the filthy Elites Anthology and It took me a few chapter to realise that this book was about Viks and Haley from the sick boys series, I was so excited, viks was always such and interesting side character in the series I couldn't be happier to have read their story. And the few snippets of 16yr old Dean Carter was an awesome treat. Sick boys series is one of my favourite, I love the duel POV and love Lucy's writing style. This little book was a gem.
I absolutely love all things Sick Boys!!! And Vik and Haley’s story is no different. It is at a faster pace since it’s not a long novel but it isn’t missing anything. There is definite action and a LOT of spice. Seeing a young Dean is a major plus, but the story is amazing.
I have been following and reading this series since book 1 and will be doing a thorough review once I finish book 7 First Please keep in mind that this is a prequel. Prequels are written either because the writer wants to set the mood for the books or because readers have fallen in love with side characters and wanted their backstories So usually prequels are shorter, like an appetiser You do not get a full detailed story (although I wish I did in this case and that is the reason for one star short I wanted to see how they met Why she hated him at first Why he fell for her) Also, prequels are written after 2 or 3 books in the series, so you should have read a couple first So we get a glimpse of the brotherly interaction between Vics and Dean And a forshadowing for Avalon(the badest badass college romance MFL)
Vics is of course possessive and alpha male No surprise there But Hailey was I was afraid she would turn out as a doormat, but she is anything but She is submissive but assertive Vulnerable but strong when needed Takes no BS from Vics and knows how to wrap him around her finger I wanted to slap her sometimes especially for putting herself on danger, but how else we'll get a story🤭 I Loved her Now on to book 7
Second book from the author and I am not disappointed one bit!!! Read book 1 before this one loves it! Only Dean from the Sick Boys makes an appearance… this book is all about Viks and Haley… Viks works for Nicholas Carter and Haley is a waitress at Viks club. There are some crazy drugs that start to go around and the boys are putting a stop to it quick. When Haley gets involved, Viks becomes the protector and they become hot 🥵 and spicy 🌶️… WHEW! Perfect amount of spice, with great plot all while wonderfully paced. Couldn’t ask for more. On to book 2 of the sick boys.
I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. This my first book by Lucy Smoke and I'm itching now badly to read Dean's book and the rest of guys. I loved how viks was determined, he didn't take no for an answer. Hailey I loved this fight because she could definitely fight. She gave so much sass and fight to Viks but than like I said doesn't take no for an answer. I'm very curious about the Nicholas Carter, Troy, Cain, Andrei. Definitely need there story's too.
This may have been my most anticipated story of the Filthy Elites anthology, as I've already read the first three books of the Sick Boys series (Dean & Ava's story) but it has been my least favorite so far. There wasn't really anything wrong with the story, it was actually pretty action packed and steamy, but I never got excited about it, or really bought into anything more than instalust between the two main characters.
*Read in the Filthy Elites anthology before the standalone was released.
I've always liked Viks and never had the opportunity to get to know Haley until this book so I appreciated this prequel. I just don't really feel like I got to know Viks very well, so I'm a little disappointed. I love this series though and can't wait to read the next book.
I was a bit hesitant to read this one, because I Red the others first and then for knew they we're a couple and happy. That being said, I'm glad I took the jump and read it. It was fast and addictive.
DNF at 71% may come back to finish. I love Viks but Haley woof. I keep seeing reviews saying she gives as good as she gets. Or strong and sassy. No she’s like a petulant teenager and needs to grow up. Her attitude and immaturity at handling life situations totally ruined this book for me. It didn’t make sense and his insta love for her just was pure lust because her personality sucked. Literally a low personality chick.
She supposedly liked him so much, yet hates him, yet likes him I just couldn’t warm up to it. She fights him on everything and it gets old. This is where the h usually lose it for me. You know there’s danger, you know the guy is probably going to have more information than he’s letting in man’s you still fight to be able to go places or not have their protection. Grow up and enjoy the care for a bit. I don’t know it just drives me crazy. And especially when they h is a raving bitch with no personality other than arguing and being disrespectful. It’s a fine line with being a total pushover or strong woman but it needs to be found with these characters to keep my interest.
I just couldn’t get into it. I don’t mind insta love from the H, but not when the h is a pain in the ass and just has no redeeming qualities besides how good she is in bed or her looks. It just doesn’t do it for me. I could literally hear her voice in this book and she was like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. Just flat and blah.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Note: This novel is a standalone in the Filthy Elites Anthology.
2.5 Stars The plot was a bit underwhelming, but I did love the dynamic between Viks and Haley. Viks being completely confident that Haley is the one for him, and doing everything in his power to make her see that, believe it, and trust him is swoon-worthy. The guy is actually a bit of a teddy bear on the inside
I will say the title of the story is misleading ... there aren't any "Forbidden Deviant Games" really... just one scene that they refer to as that. The rest of the plot is them trying to figure out who is bringing a new drug into their community and take them down.
Below are some quotes and scenes I loved: (possible spoiler warning:)
Great prequel to what looks like will be a promising series. I loved the banter between Viks and Haley. Viks loves to push Haley’s buttons but she is most certainly someone who bites back
As always, Lucy has given us a dark, gritty and fast paced story that has ridiculously sinful spicy moments.
Viks was always someone I had hoped we would get a story for. He was a mystery from the very first time we met him in The Sick Boys, and getting to finally unravel his secrets was incredible. Haley was everything I had hoped she would be. Sassy and unafraid to go toe-to-toe with Viks, strong willed and powerful, but she also had a beautiful softness and vulnerability about her - which I think went really well with Viks overprotective nature.
Absolutely loved it! As always - I cannot recommend this series enough.
The heroine is waitress and the hero is her boss. She is too stupid to live.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
She sees a drug dealer that she knows her boss is looking for. He tells her not to follow her to stay and be a waitress and be around other people. She ignores him, follows the drug dealer, gets attacked, drugged, and almost raped. Hero couldn't get the bad guy because he had to take her to the hospital.
Later on, they know the bad guy is after her. Hero leavers her in a room with a bodyguard. A guy she knows from school who keeps asking her out and won't take no for an answer wants to talk to her. She ignores the bodyguard and lets the guy in. Gee, you didn't bother to think he was working with the drug dealer who's been dealing at your school?
I am a fan of this author. I never know what to expect other than that there will be fireworks. That was the case with this book. The characters were intense as was their chemistry. I struggled, however, with the story itself. It just never truly sunk its claws into me. I felt like I was missing something. I am not sure what that is exactly because it should have worked, especially for this anthology. Even though this wasn't my favorite, it still was a nice addition to this anthology and the author should be proud of their hard work.
There are things I really liked about this book but I just didn’t really feel the chemistry enough to care. The characters seemed very static. The story is very representative of the trope and the twist at the end was good but I still feel like it wandered around without a place to go.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is a dark romance. You need to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. It will contain triggers for some readers. This is the story of Viks and Haley and the prequel to the Sick Boys series. Vicks is the boss that owns a club that Haley just so happens to work at. It is his life's mission to torment and antagonize her and he always without fail makes sure that she is his server when he is there. The man is also tasked to find out who is distributing illegal substances with his territory and he decides to bring Haley into his fold. Haley has this really kind of snark about her that you are going to love reading. The girl gives as good as she gets too and I loved that about her. It really makes for some fun reading. If you are a fan of banter in books then you are going to love the banter between these two. I don't really want to give the story away. You need to read it for yourself. I enjoyed reading this book but I also had some times where I was all oh goodness and had to take a break.
This is the prequel to the Sick Boys series. (Heart eyes) we meet a young Dean and his besties in a cameo appearance.
This story centers around Mitchell Vikson (Viks) and Haley. Viks is the boss with a club that Haley works at. Viks loves to antagonize her and always requests her as a server. The trope is enemies to lovers and it doesn't disappoint.
Viks is the bad boy in the expensive suit. He's tasked with finding out who is distributing illegal substances within his territory and brings Haley into the fold. Viks is in the employ of the notorious Mr. Carter, who is the father of Dean (Sick Boys).
Haley, love her snarky attitude. She gives as good as she gets. She doesn't hold back her thoughts. The banter is entertaining and their chemistry sparks on page.
When Haley's situation turns dangerous, Viks turns rather possessive and protective of her and let the angst commence!
Haley was the star of the show here. Ms. Smoke writes heroines that I can get behind. Strong, independent and not a damsel in distress. Haley stayed true to her character.
I really enjoyed this prequel to the Sick Boys series. If you haven't met Dean, Abel & Brax, jump in and enjoy. Highly recommend.
The prequel to the Sick Boys Series, and if you haven't read them - I highly recommend it. It's a dark, bully, enemies-to-lovers series with a pile of twists, danger and hotness thrown in... These guys take no prisoners 😘
Throughout the series we hear off, and meet Viks, this dark, mysterious, dangerous, loyal and lethal, ex-con turned settled gent and I have wanted his story from the very first time I read about him!!!
He is the main boss's right hand man and has taken a liking to Hayley who works at his bar. He also likes to annoy her lol, she's a tough nut, tells him what she thinks off him then continues on working with a smile on her face!
When Hayley becomes threatened, Viks turns caveman and it all kicks off!
What I loved most - Hayley doesn't give up her toughness, especially towards him. She still puts him in his place and she doesn't back down from him. Often you get the couple really settling down and agreeable etc but not with these two... Yes they're settled together but she doesn't give up her independence 💕
I could easily read more on these two!
*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review.
4.4 stars This is the prequel to the Sick Boys series and it is centered around Viks, aka Mitchell Vikson, and Haley. Viks is the enforcer for Nicolas Carter, Dean’s father, who readers meet in the series. He is a serious bad boy tasked with ascertaining who is distributing some illegal substances in his territory. Haley is an art student who works at Viks’ club. She is not thrilled to be working for Viks as he never fails to push her buttons but yet, she can’t stop thinking about him. Viks knows full well what he is doing to Haley and is unapologetic. However, when things are heating up, Viks reaches out to Haley for her help and it puts her in danger. The chemistry between these two is fire as Viks cannot seem to get enough of her feistiness. Overall, this is one enemies to lovers dark read that is a great introduction to the series.
“With every word he speaks, he tells both a truth and a lie. There’s no need to be frightened, Haley. I don’t bite. Lie. Translation: there’s every reason to be frightened and I do bite, but I don’t want you to be frightened of me, and I intend to make you enjoy the bite.”
Although I enjoyed this book, it was too predictable and the main female character lacked a backbone. You know when you watch a horror film and yell at the screen, “don’t go it the shower,“ but they do anyway. This was Haley always putting herself into stupid situations. However, I did like the main male character Vik. He was one of the bad guys and he loved toying with Haley each time he saw her. There was an easy way about him when speaking to Dean, he came across as a bit rough around the edges, but a bad guy with good intentions.
