Through the Eye

Rate this book
Through the storm, Through the Eye, Book 1 of The Legends of Elanimar is the birth of many noble stories to come. It is a tale, a legend, an adventure that demands nobility and honor, hope and faith. The journey that he sets out upon is by no means a safe one. Can he stay the wrath of the Dark Lord and restore the realm to its former glory?
Eamonn Ethrundson is tired of running. The hindrances of his selfish uncle undermine his mother's last that he search out his father, who has been lost at sea for the past eight years.
Soon, his world is to be turned drastically upside down. A strange traveler confronts him, delivering the young man hope and help from his own troubled fortitude. In return, he asks something of the boy. He claims that a prophecy concerns him. It heralds the doom or glory of a whole other realm, a dangerous world in which the legacy of his father still heroically lives on. But for how long?
Meanwhile, the prophecy fails not to speak of certain death. The catch is...
Only Ethrundson can fulfill it.

When you turn to the first page in this book, be prepared for an adventurous tale that will take you on a journey with the characters as they come alive in the vibrant words. In this book, The Rise of Ethrundson: Quest of a Thousand Questions, Eamonn goes on a quest with loyal companions to bring back the Light to the worlds which are being taken over by Darkness. The author, Trinity Vinton, through the story, tells the reader how to find hope in the midst of despair, to be strong when you feel fear, and most of all, in the midst of a thousand questions, look up towards the Light, take courage, and go onward. Throughout the story, there is laughter, sadness, joy, questions, and inspiration. This book is a favorite of mine and will be a treasure on my bookshelf!

When Love's price is paid,
In Hate's eyes made,
All shall be made right
And the light shall return again.
And ever after shall all speak
Of the day that caused the dark to run;
The night when rose the darkling sun
On the night of the rise of Ethrundson.

Much of a story’s effectiveness depends on how well the characters are presented. Trinity Vinton the author of, The Rise of Ethrundson: Quest of a Thousand Questions does just that - she presents her characters so well. She takes the reader on many adventures as she narrates the inspiring story of a young man, Eamonn Ethrundson, who embarks on a sea-faring journey to find his long-lost father, Ethrund Arvidson, who mysteriously disappeared. Though he meets many difficulties along the way, Eamonn always remembers the light that shines in the darkness - he keeps his faith throughout every trial he faces. This is an incredible, prodigious work of a great young author, who is able to warm the heart of any reader.
On top of this, the illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful! Reading this book made me feel as if I knew each character personally, as if we've been friends for the longest time.

This book will surely make one laugh at the passing of one scene or the other. Although, there may be a few emotional parts as well. So, as you near the 19th chapter, be sure to have a box of tissues at hand because you will need them!! This will surely be a treasure glowing among many other treasures upon my bookshelf! Five stars and beyond!! I would recommend it to anyone especially if you’re looking to go on an adventure. The writing reminds me very much of Tolkien's: upon the opening to the very first page, you are swept away on an adventure that you sometimes wish had no end!!

One last note: I very much appreciated the Christian allegory. It really kept me intrigued by the whole plot. Trinity so intricately intertwines her beautiful Faith in her writings!

This is a captivating and enchanting story about a young man trying to discern the mysterious circumstances surrounding the disappearance and fate of his father. He finds clues and helpers during his quest. The reader delightfully discovers that the story is rich with allusions and truly a mystical journey about searching for identity and mission.

Trinity Vinton succeeds at the monumental task of weaving together a tapestry of disparate characters that encompass many wonderful aspects of human nature. Their rich personalities range from profound to lighthearted, and the reader cannot help develop a bond with them – as if they are good friends or family members. The downside is that they must battle evil during their journey.

It is both astonishing and ironic to find a recently published book, which reads as if it came from the Medieval period. If you want to feed your imagination or need riveting entertainment, then this is the book for you - an outstanding page-turner!

Quest of a Thousand Questions was an exciting adventure story full of countless twists and turns. Very well written and a fun read! I would recommend this book for all readers, most especially fans of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. There were so many good lines throughout the book which I desperately wish I had highlighted but I didn’t have the heart to mark the book. Keep up the good work Trinity Vinton, I look forward to reading more in the future!

P.S. I was totally unsuspecting of the plot twist at the end, but looking back you so craftily left little Easter eggs. Very well done!

And last but certainly not least, my favorite characters would have to be Finn (I loved his character!), Killian, Finna, and Runa.

This is one of the most thrilling, satisfying things I have ever read. The author seamlessly intertwines together themes, plots, and character development with a flawless style. The use of symbolism especially gave it such incredible meaning, leading to a perfectly epic ending.
This book is a standard for all aspiring young authors who seek to capture the excitement of truth in one work. You’ve done it, Trinity! Keep up your great effort! I can’t wait for what you have next!
