Unfrozen Four #3

Rate this book
Emory Scott doesn’t have it very easy. With constant comparisons to her dead sister, she dreads her family, even when she loves them.
However, there’s something she hates even more than being compared to her sister. Or rather one other person; Miles King.

Miles King has lost the love of his life to childbirth, leaving him behind with a daughter to care for at the mere age of eighteen.
Brooklyn, the daughter he didn’t know he could ever love so much that her safety was the most important thing to him. He would do anything to keep her safely by his side.

So what happens when someone threatens to take Brooklyn away from him?

In order to appear like a man that has his whole life together, one that doesn’t still mourn the death of his girlfriend, even four years later; he only has one choice if he wants to impress the social services: Marriage.
Marrying the only person he knows cares about Brooklyn as much as he does should fix everything. And it sure helps that Emory can’t stand him, but loves his daughter, because it means there won’t ever be feelings getting involved.

But what if the one drunken night they had turns into something more than just a hookup? A baby, for instance.

What if suddenly two people that swore to never get involved with one another ever again, are now forced to learn how to coparent?
And what if during the months they have to spend together, they discover unimaginable things about their shared past?

3.5/5 ⭐️
3.25/5 🌶

Tropes:
- single dad (of 4yr old girl)
- second chance romance (they dated for years in their early teens)
- heroine is his daughter’s aunt
- heroine is the twin sister of the hero’s dead girlfriend
- marriage of convenience
- dual virgins ~ they took each others virginity (we don’t get the scene)
- miscommunication (the first time they broke up)
- dead girlfriend/baby mama
- the baby mama was a bitch
- no cheating
- plot twist

POV: first person - dual

Type: interconnected stand-alone (book three)

This was very entertaining and I loved the epilogue + extended epilogue very much.

One of my main issues was the writing. The author doesn’t know the difference between past and present tense. And some words were odd, I had to reread sentences to grasp the correct meaning. There would be words that are used but was supposed to be another word.

Example: The red rose paddles aren’t as defined, as curved as a real rose would have them, but I suppose getting curves into a mini rose is almost impossible.

Instead of paddles, it should be petals. This happens quite a lot with many words.

this book was good, okay, but i just didn’t like the fact she’s his ex then he falls in love with her twin sister (millie) and they have a child and she dies, then miles falls in love w the twin sister AGAIN, like the whole ex part was unnecessary, and the “reason” emory and miles broke up in the first place was sooo childish and immature like wdym she was being weird after having sex? 😭😭😭😭 well they were teenagers so that’s probably why but still

and i absolutely hate the “surprise pregnancy” trope 👋🏻

added the 0.5 cus the chapters were really short and i loved that😍

i didn’t hate this book but i didn’t LOVEEEE it either, i just liked it

I AM IN LOVE.

What more can I say?
I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review, and phew...
I knew I was going to love this book because I loved the last two books already and Miles was who had caught my attention in Nine Days already.
The second I heard single father I was sold. And now look at this masterpiece!
I have to be honest, I am not a pregnancy trope lover, BUT without it, I think this book wouldn't have had the same effect as it does now (not saying why bc spoiler) and therefore I absolutely love it in here. It's not the main focus of the book, but it fit so perfectly well into it.

Emory, where do I even begin? She is the perfect mixture of sassy, grumpy and emotional. She is so strong yet at the same time so easy to shake that it made me shed tears for her every now and then. She deserves a better family, but I think she got that one now.

Miles, he is everything I did NOT expect him to be. I thought he was going to be a manwhore like he was made out to be in the first two books, but boy was I wrong. He is the absolute most adorable man to ever exist. If he was real, I'd be begging him to love me. Not only does he have a dirty mouth, he also know show to sweettalk like a king. (see what I did there???? Because Miles KING? no? Okay.)

And Brooke, oh sweet little Brooke... she owns my whole entire heart. She's so funny in her own ways, yet so totally sassy and adorable at the same time. The way she always wanted Miles to kiss Emory AHH! *cute agressions*

Overall, I loved their whole relationship. Miles and Emory were MADE for each other!

I really liked their relationship with that being said it's really fucked up how he used to date her and then started to date her twin sister but then she "died" and he was back to her. The plot of the twin sister being alive is very boring.

* Miles King - kind, caring, protective, selfless, fatherly, considerate, sweet
* A really sweet and heartwarming read
* I love the little interjections from Brooke, it made the book a lot more lighthearted and sweet in moments when dealing with some really hard topics
* I have been a fan of the author’s writing style for this series and this did not disappoint. It’s very consistent and I loved the “boyfriend application”
* On the surface level, the plot seems unfocused and very messy but I think it worked, Emory and Miles make a great match despite their complicated history

The plot twist at the end was actually so stupid it made me loose brain cells. Ps. I’m a twin and this book even being a thing feels like a hate crime

You are my world

This book follows the story of Miles, his daughter Brooklyn (Brooke) and his dead gfs twin sister Emory. Miles stepsister tries to take Brooke from him. Worried he goes to his lawyer who tells him CPS might get involved. To try and make himself look a better parent he decides to get married. Emory agrees to Fake marry him for Brookes sake. They get married and Emory becomes I’ll and later finds out she is pregnant.

Emory starts getting strange notes about miles not being the person for her. After much convincing from Miles, Emory starts painting again. We find someone else broke Miles and Emory up when they were teenagers by lying. Miles quits the NHL for Brooke. They find interesting documents in Millie's old room. The CPS case gets closed and oddly Holly (Emory's mum) knows. Turns out she did to split miles and Emory up. Emory goes into labour and needs an emergency c section. Miles freaks out.Emory gets a surprise visitor while Miles is at a ice hockey game with Brooke. We find out some crazy truths from the past that leaves you reeling.

I love the unfrozen four series so much! I love how Joelina writes the characters and how much growth they have and the twists in this book are amazing! The way she forces so many emotions from you at once is incredible. I'm gonna be so sad but excited when the last book comes out. Thank you for being amazing Joelina!

There was so much going on in this book, it was too much, but at the same time I felt like nothing was going on. Idk how to explain this.

The only thing that saves this book is Miles and Brooke's father and daughter relationship. Miles has been literally the best dad ever and how he took care of Brooke melted my heart every time.

But other than that I didn't like anything else. The marriage of convenience that lasted 2 days because they were already loving each other, the entire issue of child care that was so predictable, the accidental pregnancy that was so unnecessary and dumb,... I could go on and on and on. Like I said too much things going on at the same time that I didn't know what to focus on.

Also the "love triangle" between Miles, Millie and Emory didn't felt right to me. Miles marrying his ex-dead-girlfriend's sister and his daughter's mother and then having another child with her is soooo weird. Idk but the fact that Emory is Brooke's stepmother and aunt, and that Brooke is Eden's sister but also cousin is... too much.

ok so i should start here, this book so far was a really heartwarming read ❤️‍🩹
Miles King..he was completely different from what i thought he'll be
truly he's so selfless, kind and caring 💗
i want a man like him 🥹🫶🏻
Emory Scott, the best and strongest character of the book..shedeserves everything i swear..i hated her parents, they literally were
degrading their very own daughter and made her somehow feel inferior of her twin sister...she was the sweetest character 💖
+ the plot twists were literally so unexpected i don't want to spoil the book for anyone (maybe i already did 👀) like the accidental pregnancy i kind of liked that thing i don't specifically hate that trope so yess...🫣
and and and baby Brooke...i love her...she's an adorable baby, i loved her interactions with everyone in the book..she's a sunshine baby 🩷🩷
+ what can i say about Miles and Memory (🫰🏻🫠) i loved their relationship from like lovers to enemies to lovers again..but im glad Emory found her way back to Miles and got what she deserved and what he too deserved..and they both deserve all the loveeeee<333
you guys should definitely read this book aswell the whole series..❤️❤️

did i like this book? yes.
did i love this book? yes.
i regret reading it? no.

i started this series this month because i wanted something different and i got to know this universe. i love every character of this series and i adore miles and emory so much.

i enjoyed every second of it and i didn't even realize when i finished it. every thing that happened was a so sweet. i loved how miles and emory were together. omg, don't get me started on how sweet miles is. the way he cares for emory, for his daughter is flawless. perfect!

i usually don't like pregnancy trope and single dad, but this book is the sweetest story i've read, and i adore sweet books. the plot twist there. i expected it or i was more like what if this would happen. though, i am more than happy things happened this was. i now believe miles' love more.

it is a great story to read, this one and the other bookz too. i love this circle of friends and i love the way these books are written.

i can't wait to read grey's book because omg i adore him.

Poorly written

This book reads like it was written using voice to text. I had to rewrite some sentences in my head for it to make sense. Certain words didn’t make sense, for example instead of tucking his daughter in, he “tugged” her in. I couldn’t wrap my head around how so many errors made it past the writer, editor, and publisher. As for the story, the characters are cute but I would have preferred if the protagonist wasn’t the twin of his dead baby mama. I would have preferred best friends or step sisters even. I continued reading to get to the big plot twist but it was pretty predictable and by the end it was left unresolved.

No hate on the other.. I just can’t do second chance romances or romances that feel like they’ve settled with the other sibling because that sibling they were with died. I should probably read it to the end to see if its like that but he was already comparing between the two sisters and my heart is just breaking.

"I love yo Emory King. I love you. I love you. There won't be one day of our lives that I will not fcking love you. Does that mean nothing to you?''

tropes:
second chance
toxic families
single dad
fake marriage
unplanned pregnancy
reconnecting

So I went into this book pretty blind, like I did not now what the tropes were and the only thing I did know was that Miles had a daugther because I read the previous books. And let me tell you I did not expect any of the things that happend, the PLOT twists omg, I was shocked so many times and in a good way!.

This book is about Miles and his daughter Brooke, and you see him struggle to be a single dad and go to college at the same time. When he gets reported to CPS he needs someone to be his wife, and he decides that Emory also the aunt of his daugther is the best choice for that. Not everyone is so happy with their marriage and the already bad relationship with Emory and her mother gets even worse. While married Miles and Emory find out many things from their past and also their way back to each other. Then they also find out Emory is pregnant. People are trying keep the two of them apart no matter what. And you just wait for the PLOT!.

I'm just gonna leave it at that and if you want to know you're just gonna have to read the book. Their relationship was rocky at the start but so strong in the end!. Also the relationship between Emory and Brooke is SO SWEET I cannot!. How she calls her Memory and still does that years later is everything.

Joelina outdid herself with this book, it was such a rollercoaster story, everytime you tought the plot was over another one came!. The story never became boring, it kept being entertaining the whole time. This story was such a real one with real topics and serious situations, just one word AMAZING!.

If you love a good book with the single dad and fake marriage trope than you should definitely give this book a try!.

Wow! At the beginning of the book I was confused and creeped out, but the story grew on me. The more I learned about Emory and Miles, the more I liked this book. The plottwist was unexpected (for me), I was shocked lol, it made the book even better in my opinion!

Where do I begin?
Emory, oh sweet Emory. I think she is one of the best female characters I have ever read about. I cried for her from the very beginning, literally! She was pictured by her very own family as the "mistake" Child, and the sense of inferiority she had towards her sister was very heartbreaking to read. She is the sweetest, most caring person and a truly bless to read. I felt really connected to her in a deep way even if I have never experienced any of the things she went through. She owns a special place in my heart.

Miles, at the beginning of the book I was a little mad with him, I have to be honest. He had a very wrong idea of who Emory really was, like he didn't know her at all, even if he dated her for three years (you will find out why I think that while reading the book) . I really didn't like him throw her away so easily and date her sister. In doing so, he just made her feel even more inferior to her sister. She didn't deserve that. But in the end he is one of the most perfect and tender father/husband in the whole world. The sense of protection he has for his daughter and Emory was really comforting to read.

And little Brooke, where do I even start with her? She is the perfect daughter who loves her daddy with all her heart. She really is the sweetest.

I absolutely loved this book!
I didn’t think I’d ever like the single dad trope but this book proved me wrong it was amazing!

I absolutely love how miles is with Brooke it was the sweetest thing I have ever read, she truly was her world. Even after Emory came into the picture she still was still his world and even Emory was his world.
Miles has a big heart and that shows very very much in this book and I loved reading it. Seeing all the love he shared to everyone and the happiness he would bring them and the happiness he received back.

The little family of there’s was so cute and I love how it expanded into them wanting more children it was truly so sweet! I absolutely adored how close all the friends are and seeing the other characters from the other books I love it whne books do that!

I was very shocked when I found out that millie was alive! That took a turn I never thought would happen but I am kinda glad it did because it proved to miles that he never truly loved her how he does Emory and that’s sweet.

This was such a good book better than the 2nd one but not as good as the first but very close though!

I absolutely loved this book, Seven Months is definitely one of my favorite books now!!

I’ve had this book on my tbr for a little while but kept putting it off because I didn’t know if I would like the fact that Miles dates both Emory and Millie. After seeing yet another TikTok about this book I figured it was time for me to read it and I can tell you this book didn’t disappoint!!

I had some trouble getting into the story because of the whole thing with Millie in the few first chapters but the further I got in the book the more invested I was.
That plottwist came so unexpected and I just had to keep reading so I could see what happened next.

I looooved Em and Miles together and the plot of this book was so good!! I finished the book in 2 days (just like the other books of this series) and I can’t wait until I can read the next one. :)

4.5 ⭐

I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Damn, this book was a whirlwind. I absolutely DESPISE Emory's family, and our sweet Emory. She reminds me so much of myself. She's a little firecracker but also our emotional queen. I LOVE the pregnancy trope so this was a huge bonus.
Brooke is a sweet angel and she reignited my baby fever.
I would have given this a five star review BUT I guessed all the plot twist from like 10 chapters. It made it more fun while reading though.

It was also fun to see Aaron and Colin. That bonus chapter at the end was also chefs kiss.

All in all this is an amazing read and I am so grateful to Joelina for allowing me read this.

I liked this book so much that I couldn’t put it down.
I read it while i’m eating, before going to bed. I was suppose to study but this book was calling my name!
The only thing that drove me insane is the fact that he dated Emory but when they broke up he dated her TWIN SISTER and at the end he got married to Emory. I mean this is so messed up.
The fact that Brooklyn and Eden would be both siblings and cousins is just not right to me.
A part from this, I really liked Emory and Miles as a couple. They are so cute together.
Emory’s family is the worst ever!!
Millie is actually a bitch and I didn’t expected anything she did, she left me speechless.
To be honest, I would love some more books about Miles and Emory’s children, I think that they would be amazing!

Received this book as an arc, and I’m not disappointed at all. I lived for the enemies to lovers and the tension omg. I really don’t know what people have against the accidental pregnancy trope but I like it so I liked this trope in this book, and even though some don’t like it, it’s not even mentioned every chapter. There are not many book characters for who I feel bad about their lives, but Emory just hit different. I was so flabbergasted by how poorly her family was treating her. I’m so glad she found her way back to Miles and Brooke. Oh Brooke, I love her so much, she is probably one of my favorite character of the series. Anyway, I loved this book and I definitely recommend it!!!

I kind of hate miles he broke up with Emory then he got with her TWIN SISTER only 18 DAYS later like what the fuck. I mean like he said he loved her but only took him 18 days to forget about her and he knew she was insecure, especially about her sister, so he just decides to go date her. And I hate Mille like she is such a bitch oh and their parents like what the fuck is wrong with them in the head to treat Emory like that. But I just had a few issues and I I is with this book but other then that I really loved it ❤️😗
