Spring is in full bloom, love is in the air, and Cupid has taken deadly aim in Savannah.

Newly engaged, Royce Locke and Sawyer Key are ready to set the date and charge full-steam ahead into their happily ever after, but homicides and unresolved conflicts keep getting in their way. Neither detective has met a case they couldn’t solve, but their latest investigations will push their limits and challenge their faith when the line between friend and foe becomes blurred. And if that weren’t enough, a random encounter with a stranger will trigger a series of events that could either make or break the couple.

Love—often a thriller, sometimes a killer, but always worth the battle.

Marriage is Murder is book two in the Matrimony and Mayhem trilogy, the second story arc for Royce Locke and Sawyer Key. ** New readers should start with the Zero Hour trilogy before reading Matrimony and Mayhem. ** Marriage is Murder is a continuation of Royce and Sawyer’s happily ever after as they move into the next phase of their lives—professionally and personally. Though some storylines span the trilogy, this book does not end in a cliffhanger. Heat, humor, heart, and homicide abound. You have been warned. 18+

I'm a wife and mother of three teenage kids. I've been married to the same wonderful man for twenty years. I've decided that if I can survive raising three kids then I can survive anything!! I haven't uttered the Mama's curse yet, but it could happen any day now. You know the one..."I hope you have a child just like you someday."

I'm an avid reader and lover of all things romance. I've spent my entire adult life waiting to follow my dreams of becoming a writer. One day this past summer, I decided to just do it. No more wishing and hoping. I haven't quit my day job, but that is my ultimate goal...make a living telling stories of love.

I write contemporary gay fiction. I hope you will love reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.

4.5 “I love you most” stars

“You crashed into my universe like an asteroid and wreaked so much beautiful havoc. I’m so damn grateful for it.”

Just a small warning, this isn’t a standalone and must he read after the Ground Zero series for maximum enjoyment. As that series and this one follows the lives of the same couple.

One of my absolute favourite thing to read about is an established couple that are the main couple of multiple books and who have been through a lot spending cute domestic moments together. There just something about a couple that I know has been through hardship but made it work and is now just really strong and secure in their relationship that just melts my entire hart. This book is mostly just a murder investigation and Royce and Sawyer spending a lot of small domestic moments together and I absolutely loved it.

Brief Summary
Royce and Sawyer have been dating for years now. And they are currently planning the next step in their lives, settling down and forming their own family. All of that while doing their job as detectives and investigating crimes in their city.

Royce and Sawyer are one of my favourite book couple of all time and the more time I spend reading about them (this is their 5th book), the more they just get closer and closer to being my favourite book couple of all time. There is just something special about their connection that really does it for me. I just love everything about their relationship. I love the easy way that they care for each other. I love that their favourite part of every day is spending time together even if thats as simple as eating breakfast together. I love their unwavering trust in each other. I love how much they care for each other and how they face every storm together. I love how they banter and give each other a hard time but all because they love each other so much that they cannot help it. I love all of their bounding moments with their cat, Bones. I love how much they love each other and how they show that in everything they do, everything these guys do is tinted by their love for each other and they always keep the other in mind, no matter what. Just everything about the relationship that these guys have works for me and I never get tired of reading about these two together.

”It was like you thought the truth might break us, but, baby, I chose you. And I will always choose you.”

I just had the best of time reading about all of the time they spend together and all of the plans they’re making for the future. I’m just really rooting for Sawyer and Royce and i’m so happy that they’re finally getting everything that they have ever wanted. I have been following these guy’s story for a couple of books now so it just makes me so happy to see them so happy and in love. It’s always so nice to read about. And they just have the sweetest and best relationship, I love it so much.

“Two more months until you’re officially mine,” Royce said.
“Baby, you had me at first glare.”

I really appreciated how this book tied a lot of previous storylines in the series together. I really love how it continued a lot of the previously started storylines and developed them even more than they were in the previous books. I really enjoyed that part of the book and I loved how it tied everything in the series together.

This writer always has a way of pulling me into the investigation and making me super invested in them and it was definitely the case for this book. I was just engaged in the investigation and I couldn’t wait to learn more about it. It was just a very good time to read about.

I absolutely loved this book, but honestly it isn’t very shocking. At this point Royce and Sawyer could spend 400 pages hanging out and reading the phone book together and I would think that it’s one of the best book I have ever read, I just absolutely adore these guys together and reading about their adventures.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.

4 1/2 I love you most stars

Sawyer and Royce have certainly come a long way, not only in their relationship, but also personally. Sawyer had to deal with his past coming back to haunt him putting more than just himself in danger. Royce had to deal with his family, ugh!!

The murder mystery in this one had so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. I felt like it was a Dateline episode. There were also a few cameos from Sinnister in Savannah guys.

Locke and Key are turning into one of my favorite couples and I cannot wait to read about their big day.

Royce and Sawyer making breakfast together, Royce and Sawyer feeding their cat Bones, Royce and Sawyer having lunch together in between their work schedules,
Royce caring for hurt Sawyer,
Royce and Sawyer loving on each other 🥵
ROYCE AND SAWYER PLANNING THEIR DAMN WEDDING!

Give me all the domestic shit 🤌🏾

This one was heavy on the mystery but I didn't mind because this author just has a way of gripping me with the story. I can't wait for book 3 but I'm also sad because I'll miss them 😭😭

I don't know how she does it (well, that's a lie, I do know, it's bloody hard work and fantastic research) but Aimee Nicole has added yet another awesome murder mystery for me to try and figure out who done it!

And this time I was so sure I had figured it out, only to be hit with another twist right at the end which was both brilliant and totally obvious once you knew it 😁

No plot spoilers here, as always, but the pacing on this book is a lovely mix of fear and heart-racing terror when a trip to the hardware shop for Sawyer takes a menacing turn and the more steady, chipping away of the clues which lead to Royce and Tara solving the Bon Jovi (that's what I'm calling it, it's not called that in the book!) murder.

Our heroes though, they're on fire as they move closer and closer to their own wedding and some of the sexy times in this book reach off the chart heat levels simply because of the emotional intimacy these two men have between them.

It's fan the flames hot at the same time as so beautifully vulnerable because of the trust between them.

There's a very clever secondary plot thread running through this one which started in book one and which concerns Sawyer's old nemesis Sheriff Wheeler and I was very happily surprised by the turn that took.

And speaking of surprising twists, there's another one which occurs that's much closer to home for the Locke boys as Royce stands up for his brother Jace when he marries Holly and I'm not saying I might have got a bit teary at their wedding but...

Now, with just one book to go, I have to say if this is the end of the road for these two amazing men, I'll be so very happy to have followed on their journey and will be wishing them all the joy in the world - after they finish solving the next murder that is!

4.5 Heart-eyes stars!! 😍 😍 Royce and Sawyer are seriously couple goals . Loved seeing them charting out their different paths professionally while still remaining on the same police force, all this while planning their wedding 🎂 🥂💞 and still burning the sheets (and all other surfaces) with their sizzling hot passion for one another 🔥 🔥
Unlike the last book, this one was light on the cold case and heavy on the homicide case and although I figured out the plot twists, it still had a few surprises that I was not expecting. Now that Royce and Sawyer are a settled couple, it felt like we as readers got a glimpse into their lives for a week while they went out and about their business. ❤️ Loved all the supporting characters too, they almost feel like family to me... and I'm getting more and more intrigued by their boss's back story 😉
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable book, I pretty much finished it in one day. Highly recommended to all fans of the Zero Hour series, Sinister in Savannah series and this current series Sawyer & Royce: Matrimony and Mayhem . All the series and characters are interconnected so you should certainly start with the 1st book in the Zero Hour Trilogy ; Ground Zero . ❤️ Enjoy!!

Sawyer and Royce are now engaged to be married and still heading up separate divisions of the Savannah PD... but they have worked it out between them, and all is well in their lives. Aimee Nicole Walker has again brought us an amazing story filled with special moments of love and gripping moments of chaos and violence, and a storyline that will keep you interested and invested in the story. This three-book series needs to be read in order even if you are familiar with Sawyer and Royce from other series. The guys are starting to plan their wedding but thankfully Sawyer’s mom steps in to help. Meanwhile, Royce is called out for a homicide when a wedding planner is murdered. Sawyer is busy also working to get answers for two missing people that disappeared in the mid 80’s. All the while there is a string of burglaries sprouting up around town. There’s also drama that pops up from Sawyer’s past that needs dealing with. What I love most about this entire series is the amazing love between these two men, which remains unbreakable, even when events involving family members puts their relationship to the test. i also love their cat who is obviously "IN CHARGE". On to book #3.

I don't even know how to describe the love I have for Sawyer and Royce as individual characters as well as a couple. Throughout these books they have grown and grown and now they are in place where their love is just there. It's amazing to just be there with them as they have moments of blissful love.

The mystery in this one was sooo good. I was beyond invested in it. I can't wait to read the last book but I'm also a little sad, not even close to being ready to say goodbye.

How can I not give this 5 stars? I don't ever want to stop reading about Sawyer and Royce. I want to see them get married and raise babies. I want to be there when they retire and quietly sell hardware. I want to watch them sip iced tea in their 70's while snuggled up on a porch swing, reminiscing about their first kiss and that time they almost died (plenty of times to pick from). I just love the way these two men love each other and can't stand the thought of saying goodbye to them.

This was another interesting and engaging mystery that gave me just enough information to make me feel like I missed my calling as a detective before reminding me why that's not true. With Sawyer and Royce working in different departments there was the opportunity for a whole other layer of storytelling that I thought I'd resent (I really loved them working together) but am totally on board with now. They're both in their element and it was fun seeing them circle back to each other at the end of each day to talk through their troubles and eat ice cream in bed.

There was also a lot of tying up of loose ends left open from the Zero Hour Trilogy, which made me happy but also served as a reminder that this journey is coming to an end. I'm just putting this out there - I'm expecting an ensemble cast in the last book! I want all the cameos! And I just want to reiterate that I would not be mad if Julian the tailor got a story of his own. Just saying. Again.

“Your mouth will always be my favorite thing that sucks."

3.75⭐️

Back with Royce and Sawyer as they start their journey into planning their wedding with the help of Evangeline. This mystery is about a murdered wedding coordinator who got shot in the head with an arrow. Classy.

This was entertaining as always, and as I am in the midst of planning my own wedding I can relate to the ups and downs of going through that trauma. Once again, Royce and Sawyer are the perfect couple with a sex drive of a teenager — horny 24/7 — which, for some reason, when it comes to these two, never sits right with me. I don’t know. I think the fact that their love and lust was SO instant, and they really never have any actual fights, just feels exhausting to me sometimes. But I still love them as characters. I can just never not roll my eyes when they are literally in the middle of something important and one is thinking about sinking on the other’s cock. Shit is weird, bro. Just my opinion though.

Either way, I actually got the mystery on the first pass, because even though I have like 0 brain cells, I think I watched a show where this kinda happened. Idk why — maybe I had a stroke and my brain cells multiplied for once. Either way though, the mystery being solved by myself is never a downside to me personally. It’s always how the characters navigate their way into solving a mystery that is the best part for me. So it was fun to watch.

Overall, this is just another Locke and Key book that leaves me wanting to continue, even with my face cringed at points.

Locke and Key are engaged!!! Finally!!
They are planning their wedding while continue to grapple with murders and horrific events. And as a bonus, some of the events mentioned in the Zero Hour series have finally came to a conclusion.
I was actually upset after Locke and Key assigned to different departments, but the plot is still beautiful. I love them so much as a couple!! And very excited for the next book when these two finally tie to knot!

This is the second book in the sequel series to Zero Hour and cannot be read as a standalone as they follow the same couple.

Another fun installment in the life of Royce and Sawyer, newly engaged and planning a wedding with a dash of murder on the side.
The best thing when you're reading about an established couple is all those cute domestic moments and banter along with seeing them grow so much throughout the books. Give me all the domestic stuff!!!!

I enjoyed the mystery and it had a fun twist. The cold case is minor in this book and I'm looking forward to finding out more in the final book. Gonna miss them!

I love the side characters, especially Tara and Candy, who are so in love with each other! Also I'm so with Royce, there's definitely something going on with their chief Mendoza and Abe lol

I'm never disappointed in a book starring Sawyer and Royce and Marriage Is Murder is no different. In between planning a wedding is one of the wackiest cases Royce has ever worked on. Not to mention Sawyer has his own issues to deal with in his case and his personal life. Of course we get the heat and the sweet which I just love.

Evangeline is full speed ahead with taking over plans for the big day. Well except for the cake tasting, like Royce would miss that with his sweet tooth. With all the wedding prep going on in this one it makes me excited for the next book when these two finally tie to knot. It feels like Royce and Sawyer already have their happily ever after, but a wedding is just the icing on their relationship cake.

While Sawyer is busting on another cold case, with the help of Jonah, Felix and Rocky, Royce and Tara are investigating a complicated murder with a twist.

Amongst all the mayhem, Royce's brother Jace and his fiancé Holly are finalising their wedding plans and their big day is approaching rapidly.
Sawyer's mom, Evangeline is proving to be an excellent wedding planner for her boys, the date is set and Sawyer is finally able to give Royce his engagement ring.

But history has not yet been solved and is causing mayhem for both men.
Royce’s family members are again trying to make sure he is not worth of happiness and Sawyer has to deal with his nemesis, his previous homophobic Sheriff who's outright hatred causing him to leave his job at SFPD in order to keep his sanity.

I love this amazing read, with all the characters of their ever-growing extended family, making up the Savannah universe. I'm very much looking forward to read the next book in the series.
And of course I'm more than excited to read Chief Mendoza's book, Just Say When!!

This was absolutely awesome and definitely my favourite Sawyer and Royce book so far .... although, now I have even higher expectations for the next book.

During the previous books I had some troubles connecting with them or with the timing.
But this book was flawless: the characters awesome, their relationship lovely, the balance between romance and mystery perfectly done (and I loved the mystery part) and the writing and flow of the book really delightful.

This author is a favourite of mine for her hits but there are some misses in between and I am so happy that this one was such a joy to read.

Can't wait for the next book.

WOW WOW what a ride this author has taken me on 🥰🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩🤩. Again, Aimee has not let me down with any of her books.

This was a brilliantly written book, the suspense was well written and kept me glued to the pages.

The love between Royce and Sawyer was just amazing to read. Their love for each other just grabs you and you can't wait for more.

This is a really good series to read, I now can't wait for Killer Honeymoon.

Romantic Suspense

Bravo Ms Walker. Another superbly written mystery/suspense story. Cleverly written, the plot is both intriguing and entertaining. No spoilers here, you just need to read the story. I love how the characters of Royce
and Sawyer have developed together on their road to true love. Their love making in this was so beautiful , their connection so tender. Great story, already looking forward to the next episode.

More fun with Locke and Key!

Another swoony, sexy, fun mystery with two of my favorite MM characters by one of my favorite MM authors.
I rarely enjoy more than two books with the same MCs, but between this and the Zero Hour trilogy, I have loved watching these two guys grow together.

We are back for the seconds part of the Royce and Sawyer trilogy. I don’t know how the author can still produce so may good murder mysteries and they are only getting better. That is why I love this authors work. You get equal measure of romance and mystery which I love.

Royce and Sawyer are planning their wedding with the help of Sawyer’s mum, Evangeline. When Royce is called to a murder scene is finds a wedding planner with an arrow through his heart. There are lots of suspects in this one including: an ex-wife, business partner, twin brother, and ex-business partners. Throughout the investigation I found it hard to figure out who the bad guy was. Then when the guy was arrested, that wasn’t the end of it. I love that you are along for the ride while investigating the murder and not just being told what was happening.

There is also a secondary crime happening and that involves armed robberies. While out shopping Sawyer end up in a shop while an armed robbery is taking place and he can tell who one of the robbers is. Sawyer is also investigating old missing persons cases and using the sinister in savannah podcast to ask for information. At that robbery he meets someone with ties his nemesis, the sheriff. That leads him to helping her and putting him in a rough spot because he doesn’t like the man.

The relationship between these two is still as strong as ever and I am happy to see them both settles down more. The sex between them is still as hot after all this time together. The scene is the shower shows that and I loved all the sexy daydreams they were having. They are a lot stronger as a couple and it makes me so happy to see commination. They talk about their problems and solve them together.

There are a few things for these guys to work through and in this one they did that. Royce had his family drama and I’m just glad that he is getting his sister away from that. He has grown to see that he is not a bad apple at all. Sawyer has the sheriff to deal with and what happened to him at the end made me so happy. His karma was a long time coming. I can’t wait for the next one, but I am so sad that it is the last one in the trilogy.

I reviewed this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

Before you read further, make sure that you have read all the Sawyer and Royce books leading up to this point, as it is really important to have read all the nuance, and intrigue, as well as the goodness, romance and passion to this point. The author does a very good job of giving reminders if it is a little while since you read the last one, but it is done a bit like a reminder someone gives you at a wedding, to make sure you are up to speed, not repetition. Be warned :)

I enjoy reading about these guys so much, that even an evening at home, feeding the cat and talking about their upcoming wedding is totally engaging. But rest assured there is a lot of mystery, a bit of family drama, and the righting of some wrongs to ramp up the tension and make this all the richer a read.

I am already looking forward to the next book, but also hoping that the Walker has a few more adventures for them up her sleeve - I really like to think these guys have more stories to tell.

Marriage is Murder is the second book of the second series with Locke and Key. I highly recommend not reading this book without knowing the content of the Zero Hour series or having read the Magnolia Murders.

I simply adore Locke and Key and could read 20 or more books about them. Their banter, their obvious love, and all the shenanigans they partake, there is not one thing that I did not like about them.

The previous books have set a high bar and this one did not disappoint. Sawyer and Royce are their usual selves and they have to solve a lot of mysteries and challenges. What more could someone who knows them wish?
Again a brilliant sequel and I can't wait to read book three of this series and hope there will be another one!

Everything you love about Royce and Sawyer is still alive and well in this spin-off series. The romance between our MCs really jumps off the page and that’s the reason why 5 books in I’m still excited to read more about these men. The big murder mystery is great, full of twists and turns while the smaller crime has the potential to create conflict for our men. It’s great how Aimee has developed their characters individually and as a couple while it feeling so organic. I would continue to read about Sawyer and Royce in their 50’s still solving crime if Aimee continues to pump out books at this level. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is the second book in Sawyer and Royce Matrimony and Mayhem and was so well written and I love Sawyer and Royce who are now planning their own wedding but with Sawyer working on a couple of cold cases, Royce working a homicide of a wedding planner and a string of robberies will they ever get a chance to plan.

With some great sex scenes, a good mystery, and two great guys this is a really well written romance and drama. I love all the side characters like Candy, Tara and the rest.

My only complaint some of the new side characters had similar names and I kept getting a little confused who was who.

I can't believe there is only one more in the series I love these guys so much.

Okay, while I have been binge-reading this series, it occurred to me as I was reading the NEXT book - who the fuck murdered Leo/Larry?

Did I miss it while skimming through the monotonous and overkill sex scenes? Maybe I had an extra glass of wine and don't remember? I even tried going back through, but to no avail.

I'm a little pissed. Someone/anyone please private message me if you can tell me the resolution without spoiling it for others.

2 stars for an unresolved MAIN mystery until I know differently.

Thanks.

A lot of beautiful romance between two wonderful men , Sawyer and Royce….
Aimee Nicole Walker has written a superb book with just the right amount of romance and mystery a great balance, which makes this story a book …

A book that had me reading during the night as it was impossible to put down.

Marriage is Murder picks up Royce and Sawyer's story from where The Magnolia Murders ended. With the pair newly engaged and ready to set a wedding date.

But before they can do that they have Holly and Jace's wedding to attend and more cases to solve including the murder of the part owner of a wedding planning business and a spate of armed robberies that Sawyer finds himself caught up in.

And with plenty of heat and sweetness. Not to mention twists from Royce's murder investigation this was a really enjoyable read. That I'd happily recommend to others.
