soooo this was good and i really loved it, worth reading. spoilers below so please read at your own risk.

byron (34) met odette/madeline (22) when he went to her dad's clinic to relieve the pain on his back caused by sunburn. they did start in a wrong foot cuz he was a snappy jerk to her that time and she wasn't having it. despite odette's annoyance with byron's attitude she remained professional and perform her job as doctor (technically not yet she was still a student). and while they were in that room some sort of connection or sparks went up between them, but they ignored it.

that same night he went to this bar just to see her again. odette doesn't have a clue he would be there. and when their eyes met, the same spark ignited between them.

then odette also saw her ex was there with a new woman, and this pissed her off reminding her of his cheating and how he went sleeping around so much after they broke up (she wasn't brokenhearted, just annoyed). then she came up with the idea of having a freaking menage a trois (not a fan of this) which byron not so happily agreed but made somehow happened with the help of his friend whom he has shared women before.

again not fan of the sharing, definitely not! but the other guy only did kissing and some groping but eventually left both of them. then the night continued with just byron and odette. the next morning when odette woke up, he was gone but byron's father was in their room and threatened her to stay away from him or else he'll make her family suffer and blah blah blah. he also told her that he has a fiancee (which is a freaking lie!)

believing he lied to her, odette pushed him away and then three months have passed. she went to his office building to let him know that she was pregnant but byron's father and the OW was there. and they shooed her away. she got into an accident after exiting the building and luckily (or not) byron saw her and drove her to the hospital. then they were told she lost the baby (a freaking lie again!). since there was no need or something that connecting them anymore, odette asked byron to leave her and he did (i wish he didn't)

anyway, 6 years later, she's a struggling surgeon that works in WHO. and her sister stole a freaking diamond and now they were in contact with bad kind of people. she was supposed to meet this smuggler in a restaurant to give back the diamonds, but this guy suddenly required her to pay an interest of 1M and have it within 2 weeks. they were broke and it's impossible for her to pay that amount. and then call it fate or destiny, byron's monthly family dinner was also at the same restaurant. he saw her first and when he approached her, she was still mad at him and he still has no clue why.

with nowhere to go and 2 weeks almost closing in, odette swallowed her pride went to byron and ask for a 1M loan, promising him that she'll do anything. so byron, the ever loving obsessed guy even after 6 years took this opportunity to finally claim his girl and make sure she'll never get away from him, by giving his condition that she has to marry him before he give her that amount. and that's where the real fun starts.

i try to avoid books with second chance tropes as much as i can. i'm just not a fan of reading about wasted time or what they did during their separation. usually the guy slept around a lot with this kind of books while the gal remained celibate or was still pining for the guy (or maybe it's a me thing, that i ended up finding and reading books like this) thus making me banned books with second chance tropes in my tbr.

but i have to say this one isn't like that. they were separated for 6 years but both remained pining and celibate. they can't get over each other and imagining them with other people didn't do it for them. i loved their connection, and that the love they have for one another didn't fade even after years gone by. it was sweet seeing their family finally come together and how they slowly fixed and healed the pain caused by the circumstances or people around them. i also loved the epilogue and glimpse of their lives years after.

Safety warnings:
- No cheating (between MCs)
- OW drama (mild, H's father wants him to marry this OW. H has a casual relationship with this OW but ended it before he met the h.)
- OM1 drama (mild, h's childhood friend is in love with her but it was purely platonic on h side)
- OM2 drama (h's ex tried to grab her in the bar to "talk" to her, who also called her names)
- OM3 (not really drama, but H&h had almost a threesome with this OM3 and he was H's friend)
- Separation (1st - 3 months, 2nd - 6 years)
- Violence, suicide, drinks spiking (?)

Okay I'm calling it a curse now...

The slump is real...

I like MMF/MFM books. Which sounds weird when I pair it with I don't like sharing/menage.

↬ One is a real permanent relationship only with more individuals than the traditional pair.

↬ The other is a temporary, sexual event.

When the book hit me with

“I seem to recall you like screamers,” I taunted. In fact, I saw it firsthand. It might sound fucked up to some, but sometimes River and I shared women. It worked in my favor. In and out. Keeping my scars out of sight. “I’m willing to bet that hasn’t changed.”

I thought "Oh no, let's hope this is just a random piece of information".

But I was wrong.

“Just this once.”
Ménage à trois, here I come!

The hero overhears her, so it could be argued that she's the one that gives him the idea. I skimmed ahead and as far as I could tell I don't think the secondary M does much more than kissing and touching, but damnnnnnn... Why is this happening to me?

I came for the accidental pregnancy trope. I don't know if they have a long affair or a ONS, but there's a chance she gets pregnant during the menage and that somehow just makes the menage even worse 🙃

🎧 Audiobook Review: Misdeeds of a Billionaire (Billionaire Kings, #2)

Author: Eva Winners
Genre: Second Chance Romance, Enemies-to-Lovers, Secret Baby, Contemporary romance
Narrators: Aiden Snow and Brooke Daniels

🦸🏻‍♂️ The Hero: Byron Ashford

Byron Ashford is the kind of hero who wears his scars like armor. From the moment he meets Odette, he’s drawn to her youth and vitality, even as he tries to convince himself she’s off‑limits. Burned — literally and figuratively — by past relationships, Byron is weary of women who play games or ignore his rules. His last entanglement ended in betrayal and humiliation, leaving him with a dangerous sunburn that echoes the injuries he once endured as a Navy SEAL.

Now anchored on the French Riviera, Byron works alongside his brother from their opulent yacht, juggling Ashford business ventures that range from jewelry to security. Yet despite the wealth and glamour, he’s restless. His back injury keeps him from enjoying the pleasures of the sun, and his simmering frustration makes him a brooding figure — a man caught between power, pain, and the possibility of something real.

🦸🏼‍♀️ The Heroine: Odette Madeline Snow

Odette is introduced with a spark of innocence and ambition. A Stanford medical student on break, she lends her skills to her father’s hospital on the Riviera. When Byron storms into the emergency department, Odette is instantly captivated by his golden‑brown skin, commanding presence, and undeniable magnetism — even if he greets her with a grumpy edge. Later, fate throws them together again at a nightclub, where Odette’s curiosity and Byron’s intensity collide in a way neither can ignore.

📚 The Plot

The nightclub scene sets the stage for chaos and desire. Odette, frustrated by her cheating ex and her own romantic dry spell, jokingly tells her sister she needs a ménage à trois. Byron overhears — and, with his SEAL buddy by his side, sees an opportunity to fulfill her wish. But what begins as a provocative arrangement quickly shifts. Byron’s possessiveness and growing affection for Odette push him to claim her for himself, determined to erase her ex’s shadow and the idea of sharing her with anyone else.

🌟 What Worked

• The villainous twist of Byron’s father confronting Odette the morning after — deliciously dramatic.
• The surprise pregnancy trope, handled with an unexpected detour that kept me guessing.
• Byron’s unwavering devotion to Odette, spanning six years of separation, gave the romance a thread of loyalty and longing.

💔 What Fell Short

• The names “Odette” and “Byron” felt mismatched for a sweeping romance — they never quite sang, and the fact that he sometimes called her Odette and sometimes called her Madeline was just odd.
• The middle section dragged, losing momentum before the story reignited.

🎙️ Narration

The duet narration elevates the material. Brooke Daniels brings Odette to life with clarity and emotional shading, shifting seamlessly between characters. Aiden Snow, with his deep, velvety timbre, remains a standout — one of those rare narrators you could listen to endlessly. Together, they create a dynamic listening experience, with male and female voices perfectly balanced across perspectives.

💬 Final Thoughts

This audiobook offers a dark, seductive premise layered with betrayal, desire, and family conflict. The flashes of intensity are compelling, but the story sometimes rushes past its own shadows, leaving emotional depth unexplored. Thankfully, the narration adds richness and texture, ensuring that even when the plot falters, the listening experience remains engaging.

I’m pretty new to the world(s) of Eva Winners, but I gotta say, even in my newness I can appreciate that she is a very talented writer of the dark and twisted persuasion. Her stories skirt the edge and she is exceptionally good at it. I love stories that push buttons and/or lurk in the dark corners of society but it takes talent not to make then cliché and trite and Eva has that talent. I haven’t come close to catching up on her backlist because there’s only so much one can #binge when it comes to this genre, but I’m getting there, and the more I read the deeper my respect gets for Eva’s talent.

Misdeeds of a Billionaire was everything I expected it to be and more! It was full of dramatics with chemistry abound! I’m not going to tell you that the storyline is unpredictable, because it isn’t. I’m also going to tell you that some of the plot-points were just … sigh … a little eyeroll inducing, BUT, somehow, she pulled it off without me giving up on the story. I wouldn’t say that this is one of Eva’s dark romances, but it does have some crossover into her mafia worlds. I’d call it more romantic suspense than anything else. Anywho, it’s entertaining, well written, likeable characters and not too farfetched of a storyline (but borderline lol)

I will continue with my quest of reading all words by Eva Winners at some point in my lifetime. Do with that information what you will :)

I couldn’t finish it! Where’s the moral and being a possessive man? ‘Like the don’t touche her’. I was excited to read about Byron’s story but then the chapter where Odette wanted a threesome? Wth! I thought she’s a good girl, a nurse pursuing to be a Dr.

I can not continue this book. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻/5

Me gusta.

“Misdeeds of a Billionaire” is the story of Odette and Byron.

Wow this was a roller coaster ride.

The book starts with the hero’s father trying to harm the heroine’s baby. We then flashback to their first meeting - the heroine who is a medical student meets the older, sexier hero. Sparks fly, she thinks he will give her a menage a trios- he first agrees and they *almost* go through with it until the hero kicks out the other guy suddenly (no sex with OM).
After the wild night- tragedy strikes. Sequence of events lead to a betrayal, a suicide, a heartbreak, pregnancy, accident, secret non miscarriage, lots of angst, and time moves on.

Years later, our heroine is on the run from the drug mafia when she bumps into the hero. Circumstances lead to him discovering about their son, and we see a blackmail and marriage of convenience. Soon demons from the past are exposed, the hero and heroine understand the depth of their love, we get loads of sex, drama, romance, angst and a happy ending with detailed epilogue.

I was pleasantly surprised by this story. My jaw did drop at the almost threesome but the rest of the story was so engaging and heartfelt it kept me hooked, and the ending was worth it. I am so excited for their older siblings’ story.

Safe..ish- apart from almost threesome they remain loyal to each other

Will be reading this because both MCs were celibate during the 1st 3 month separation as well as the 6 yrs after that per reviewers!

Note to myself: There is a mild 3 some with heroine, OM & Hero in the beginning but only a kiss and groping - per reviews.

Thank you Eva Winners for this ARC ! I absolutely loved this book and as soon as I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. Byron and Odette are meant to be especially after being apart 6 years and seeing each other . They still have that connection. And when everything came out the stayed stronger.

This book is interconnected with several of the authors other books due to those characters making appearances, but I think you can jump into this one without having read those and then go back to catch up.

This story is told in past and present, starting with how Byron and Odette meet. Bryon is the eldest son and has done well for himself, with a stable business and solid relationships with his siblings. He can be dominating and ruthless at times but tender towards the people he cares about. He isn’t afraid to take initiative but also knows when to step back (even when it hurts). He wasn’t into settling down either until he meets Odette.

Odette is an aspiring medical student when we meet her and has hopes and dreams. She has a close relationship with her older sister and father. We see that she wears her heart on her sleeve, but as years pass, she becomes more guarded and keeps things close. Odette still remains dedicated to her profession and while she isn’t one to back down, she keeps family at the forefront and most of her choices revolve around them.

Byron and Odette’s “meet cute” might be be one with tension also attraction and the two of them have sizzling chemistry the more they interact. They do come across challenges and barriers though which perpetuate the angst and heartache that come between them. They definitely have a push and pull dynamic as they get their second chance, all the while developing and proving to us the family unit they should be. There were times where I was wondering the tissues were.

A lot of side characters contribute to this couple’s relationship, and each of them deserve shoutouts. We have each of their siblings for example who will always have our main couple’s back. We do get antagonism from a few set characters and the author does well in making them not so likable.

Overall this was an engaging read and I wonder what is coming next!

Misdeeds of a Millionaire is the first book that I have read by Eva Winners. This is the second book in this series and can be read as a standalone. This book was exciting, nail-biting, gritty and heartbreaking. Eva Winners is a wonderful writer. Her characters have depth, have chemistry with all the characters in the book. I really enjoyed their interactions and backstories they all had. The world that she created is amazingly detailed, original and captivated me from the first chapter. This book had action, angst, drama, mystery, and a whole lotta heat. I was excited for the way the book ended. I loved that it wasn't rushed, and parts weren’t just glossed over. This book ticks all my boxes when wanting an enemies to lovers, second chance billionaire romance with a few surprises thrown in. I enjoyed every bit of this book and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Odette is smart, independent, and has her life planned out. I loved how strong, loyal and determined she was throughout this book. I loved the relationship she had with her sister. They were so loyal to each other. They stood by each other through thick and thin. Byron was a total Alpha throughout this book. He was dark, broody, obsessive and possessive. He was a man that got what he wanted and wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted most. He was very loyal to his family and the ones he cared about most. I especially liked their chemistry in this book. They were explosive in more ways than one. The angst they felt through this book was face fanningly hot.

This was such a beautifully written book. I loved the plot so much. It was a roller-coaster of emotions. It had me fist pumping, wanting to throw my e-reader, swooning for the MMC, and cheering from the FMC.- Brooke

This storyline got me hooked from the beginning! Too bad that it didn’t deliver!

So hear me out. It started off very interesting. But it turned quite predictable and then it just felt like the author was fucking with us by prolonging the talk that had to take place between the main characters!

The way that the MMCs father ruined the FMCs life was horrifying. And it’s understandable that she would hate the MMC and his family afterwards. But daaaamn, are the characters dumb or what? Why did I had to read 80% of the book before it was revealed to the MMC that his father had driven the FMC away. And why did she keep avoiding this subject?

I absolutely hate when authors do this, cause it’s so obvious that they are trying to make the story longer, but it just has the opposite effect!

I mean, if I went through what the FMC did, I would stand and scream at the MMC and threaten bodily harm if his father showed up. Instead she just agreed to marry him to get rid of the situation that was caused by her idiotic sister.

And God damned it. The fucking sisters SHE RUINED THE entire story. Like what the actual fuck! I felt like this was a story about the FMC and her sister and not the FMC and the MMC. She was literally in the way, ALL THE FUCKING TIME! So this story lost all the stars cause I could literally not stand the sister. The was an unreliable and dense person that caused every single issue.

You know what would have had made things interesting. If the FMC was a surgeon during the day and a diamond thief during the night! And the sister wouldn’t have been a part of this story!

Anyway, I’m giving this 2/5 stars ⭐️ Interesting storyline but yeah, it could have been a million times better!

Byron and Odette. The famous Ashford big brother that we’ve met many times already and a young med student.
The prologue was intense and got me hooked instantly. And the book continued that way.
I was turning the pages and I couldn’t believe what I was reading at times; there were some surprise elements and twists. And a lot of angst.

Byron was amazing. I just loved him. So good with her and Ares. He respected her wishes above all, during all the phases of their relationship.

There was a lot of miscommunication/ secrets/ bad decisions, especially by Odette but I can’t exactly blame her because she was young and scared.
So far, this is my favourite E. Winners book. I couldn’t put it down. I understand that it might not appeal to others but personally, I loved it.

-Dual 1st person POV

Overall: 4.5/5 ⭐️ for me.

disappointed

2.75… I really wanted to love this book & I kept changing my mind from 3 ⭐️ to 2.75 ⭐️ but ultimately I was disappointed in this book. I felt as though the book was unnecessarily long & slow. It’s split into 3 different parts when it could’ve just been 2 (the first part should have been the prologue & then the second part should’ve been the actual first half of the book & then Fast forward 6 years later to conclude the book). & I feel as though this book is a good example of miscommunication & I don’t like it. If the FMC just would’ve talked to the MMC & told him what happened they both could’ve saved time & heartache.

Repetitive.

If there's one thing Eva is gonna do and we can rely on, it is her reliance on one or all of the following:
1. years between circumstances
2. a secret baby
3. pointless assumptions leading to miscommunication

When this is the bread and butter of the books, it truly gets exhausting. But, I guess the meaning "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" is where her writing falls. At this point, I suspect she'll change it up when we readers get tired of it and stop buying the books.

DNF @ 40%. I like a good soapy romance but this was missing heart. And it was *too* fast paced? Every chapter had a little plot twist and so far the only thing missing seems to be the evil twin (maybe that shows up after 40%). Also the main characters aren't as intelligent as their doctor & billionaire status would lead to you believe.

My Rating: 5 stars!

**ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review.**

First there was Alessio. Now Byron. Give me an Ashford any day! 😍 Phew. This was another exceptionally addictive love story from the Billionaire Kings series, but even more so, another phenomenal piece of narrative writing from Winners! I can’t get enough of her books.

Byron and Odette had me mentally and emotionally invested in their journey from the very first page. The opening scene alone had me perking up with giddy interest. I hadn’t expected more than half of the developments that occurred and I just about broke down in tears through a handful of them. I couldn’t have asked for two more lovable, relatable, genuine MCs to read about. Their story was swoony, unpredictable, suspenseful, and all-around heart-palpitating.

This is a dark contemporary, billionaire romance with an age-gap, second-chance premise. Winners has an intricate web of interconnected books/ characters from different series’ that can all be read as standalone novels. If Winners is a new-to-you author, you’ll learn character crossovers are a common trait in her books. There are a handful of supporting characters that make appearances in this one that have/ or will have their own books. The gradually developing secondary storylines are the perfect addition to the main narrative. They add further zing and dimension to the overall storytelling, and just made me anticipate reading their books even more.

It’s well-paced and told from both MCs points of view. From the misunderstandings, to the secrecy, to a lot of the what-ifs between Byron and Odette wrapped up in crackling sexual tension made this one massive page-turner! I enjoyed this book so much I could’ve read more, but will happily settle for rereading instead.

I enjoyed the smattering of dark and gritty elements incorporated in the story that helped build-up and maintain suspense throughout. It toes the line of mafia themes too, giving these characters’ world a sense of danger. The world-building is vivid, extensive, and gives a taste of what Byron Ashford’s life is like having endless money, luxury, and powerful influence.

I found Odette to be a likable heroine. At times she was a little out of her depth, but her constant determination, love of her family, and fierce values made for a relatable character I easily connected and sympathised with. For a powerful billionaire running an empire, Byron has a lot of common dreams in life. Despite his difficult upbringing and brutal experiences, he’s protective nature and willingness to choose a different path makes him such a striking hero. There’s a slight push-and-pull but there’s no denying these two opposites fit so well together.

It does contain sensitive subject matters that may be triggering/ difficult for some readers to read. It touches on depression, suicide, physical assault, drugging, and graphic violent acts. It’s intended for readers 18+ only.

The writing is effortless to follow and sucks you in immediately through its characters. Byron and Odette had an initial fling the quickly evolved into more. Although there’s some surprising twists and turns, the growing complexity and angst in their relationship had my undivided attention. As backstories and recollections of past events are steadily revealed, you’ll eventually see Byron and Odette’s relationship come full circle.

I’ve become obsessed with this book. It’s now one of my top favourites by Winners. It has a satisfying combination of romance and suspense within an in-depth storyline. The synopsis hooks you in, the characters keep you intrigued, and the overall storytelling makes it unputdownable. The familial dynamics and interactions were another addition that I truly enjoyed seeing. There’s a diverse cast of personalities that brought about a lot of heart, cheeky banter, and genuine bonds.

I would absolutely recommend this book (and the series) to fellow romance readers. I think it has a little bit of everything that makes it a worthy read. It has a solid plot that was well-executed, captivating, fleshed-out characters, a constantly progressive narrative, and a romance the concluded on a well-deserved HEA! I’m not complaining about the locations this story was set in either. It had me travelling to different places without leaving the comfort of my own bed. I couldn’t have asked for a better romance book to escape into. It left me happy sighing!

I'm a big fan of Ms. Winners and while some of the tropes spoke to me more than others, this book still knocked my socks off! Byron Ashford is the oldest of the elite Ashford family. One day, he's treated in a hospital by younger med student Odette and is instantly bewitched by the fiery, smart beauty. The attraction is very mutual and hits full momentum later that night at a club where they give into the scorching chemistry. The next morning, Odette gets a surprise visitor making threats and leaving her second guessing the entire night before with Byron. That one night has far-reaching consequences in the immediate future and six years later. Now, a single mom, Odette, must turn to Byron for safety from some dangerous criminals. His condition is marrying him as he's never stopped loving her. Odette agrees but has been burned before, and the same threats still exist ready to ruin their happily ever after.

The author always writes super jealous, alpha, possessive, obsessed heroes that are ruthless, and Byron definitely fits into that category. I loved seeing him as a family man with his siblings and the family he created with Odette. His priorities clearly show, and he stands by them unequivocally. His love for Odette is so moving in being willing to sacrifice his happiness for her own at a major turning point in their lives. He loves his woman and would go to war again for her in a heartbeat. Odette is a fantastic mix of intelligence, heart, and passion. She has a fiery nature with a sharp tongue but ultimately possesses enough emotional intelligence to know she needs help when she finds herself in a life or death situation. Even if she has to swallow her pride, this woman does it for her family, and I couldn't have been happier to see her reason through things. She's feisty but not the annoying feisty, and I was thrilled to cheer that heroine on. I had so much empathy for her and how much damage she had to take while admiring her strength to rebuild. Together, these two couldn't have made a more perfect couple, and I found their story to be memorable as well as heartwarming. This is shaping up to be yet another great series!

★★★★☆

Odette and Byron met when he was being treated for the burns on his body after an accident he had. Byron was very snappy from the beginning and Odette is not the one to have it. She kept everything professional and kept him in line, as well. This was part of the reason for his attraction towards her. Though later that day, at a bar, they met again. Her admission to wanting a menage a trois led to some things with Byron and his friend. BUT Byron is possessive of her so it was only making out with his friend and him watching Byron and Odette. And then he left them to finish their rendezvous.

Things don't end well the next morning. Byron had left to get breakfast but somehow his father managed to get into the hotel room. He said some out of line things to Odette that made her push Byron away. The months that they were away from each other, Odette went to find him at his building but encountered his father again. Thing after thing happened and they pushed each other away for 6 years.

After these 6 years, Odette is back with a little secret. A secret that had affected them once before (one that Byron thought was gone). So when Odettte finds herself needing help, she reached out to Byron and he has his own wants to their agreement.

I loved their story so much. I am not a fan of love triangles so I'm glad that one scene was cut short and didn't lead to much. Byron and Odette's connection was amazing. There was no denying it from either side of them.
