Rate this book
Love.the grandest experiment of all.

Resonance Mates, Book 3.

As a young Alvian lab tech, Jaci knows her place in the orderly, emotionless society her race has established on the planet Earth. While preparing a batch of experimental skin patches, she is accidentally exposed to a gene-altering agent. In a matter of days, she's assaulted with raw, primitive, forbidden emotions she has no clue how to handle. If her superiors find out, she's a dead woman. Her only hope is to seek help from the human test subjects held captive in pens below the city.

Before the aliens came, cousins Mike and Dave used their psychic abilities to their advantage in business dealings. Now they use them to stay alive, keeping a sharp telepathic eye out for ways to help themselves and others improve their lot.or escape. Their friendship with Jaci has always been more than simply captives and caretaker. Now that her DNA has changed, their shared resonance is the stuff of legend.

Inevitably, Jaci's emotions expose her to deadly Alvian justice. Suddenly she's in the race of her life, seeking the only safety she's ever known ... in the arms of her human Resonance Mates.

Warning: This book contains graphic language, ménage a trois, naughty dream-walking and scorching hot alien loving, set in a post-apocalyptic world.

4 stars — I think I remember this series ramping up even more as it went on, and that seems to be the case in my rereads as well! I mean, I’m still only meh on the erotica part (though this one was better than the first two), but the world and the overarching plot and the start of the revolution and Grady and Bill and Sam and ahhh!! I’m just really enjoying all the little pieces that are coming into play, and how they’re weaving together.

It’s funny, normally I’m not a huge fan of secondary characters getting “screen time” in my books, but I’ve really enjoyed the glimpses we’ve gotten into the heads of Grady and Bill in particular. They have such interesting stories to tell, and while I know Grady gets the next book, I’m glad we get something from Bill since he remains a secondary character (if not an important one) for the rest of this series (AFAIK). I can see where it’s going with Sam, and I’m excited about it, even if it’s in the background.

And even though Caleb’s visions feel a bit convenient in setting things in motion, I find I don’t even care. It’s fun to see how all these different parts work together to set things in motion.

I mean, sure, Jaci, Mike and Dave were actually pretty great together. But if it had just been their story, it probably would have been another 3.5 star rounded down again. It’s the rest that has me excited to read more.

Jaci, Dave, & Mike are a good triad. Watching her develop emotions and learn how to deal with them as an adult made for a good twist on the romance that developed between them.

I can't wait to see if Mara 12 ever changes how she is.

This is such a fun and unique series. I love these stories. They are so unusual but fascinating. I love the characters and can’t wait to see the next step in the overall story. Looking forward to the next one.

This is book three of the Resonance Mates series and things are heating up. After losing Sinclair Prime when he was sent out to assassinate Davin Mara 12’s experiment to restore emotions to her people has had a setback. The demonstration that Davin put on at the end of DAVIN'S QUEST has forced the Council to authorize the experiment or risk losing the crystal talent in their people. By breeding the emotions out of their people they have also been breeding out the talent that they depend on so heavily. Jaci 192 is preparing the skin patches for the next stage of the experiment when she accidentally gets a patch adhered to her skin. She knows if any of her people find out that she will be imprisoned and/or killed. She confides in a human named Ruth about what happened because the emotions are overwhelming her. Ruth directs her to a pair of cousins that are already attracted to the lab tech. So begins a journey into dreamwalking and determination.

The cousins had a successful business before the aliens came and destroyed everything. These two evaded capture for a very long until Grady Prime was sent after them. Michael and David have been using their telepathy to keep the rest of the prisoners in their area up-to-date on what is going on. The have a vid unit that allows them to access entertainment and news outlets and to books as well. Michael is the more spontaneous of the pair. He is the one that keeps David grounded. David is a healer both of the mind and the body. As rear as a physical healer is a mind healer is that much rarer. These men are tenacious and driven. They are always looking for a way out of the prison they have been in for too long. They are both intelligent and well read. I liked both of these men especially when they realize what has happen to Jaci.

Jaci is just a lower level tech that thinks she will never amount to much. The structure of the Alvian society doesn’t encourage greatness in the individual work group of each profession. A Jaci will always be just a tech. So her confidence is a little lacking. She knows that she is never going to be chosen for the experiment she is helping with or that she will ever be able to have any children. Even both the gene therapy she is a kind and caring keeper. Ruth and both men have liked her even before she gets her emotions. Jaci is pretty good at hiding what has happened to her and I am not sure how the powers that be find out that she is compromised. For all her lack of confidence Jaci is a fighter and she doesn’t give up when things get bad. I liked her quite a bit.

There are many things happening in this story. This is not just Jaci, Michael and David’s happy ending it is the futher development of the ongoing story line. We get to see Sinclair Prime now called Wild Bill. We find out something about him that are very unique and shows once again that science without conscience is not a good thing. We also meet Sam he is the man that save Ruth from being raped in the first book. Sam is the father of Ruth’s child. Bill and Sam become friends in this story and I hope that will both become mates for Ruth. Harry and Caleb are always in the background trying to help as many humans as they can and of course they just keeping adding to those that want to help from among the Alvians. I am off to start the next book so I can find out what happens next.

I finished this book, but it really disappointed me. I was so impressed by the concept behind the first book in this series that at the time, I had wished the writer had left out the erotica scenes and focused more on story. I really thought the alien invasion story line had promise. In book two, it went downhill with too much of a happily-ever-after story line, and in this one, it's even worse. I didn't believe for even a second that things would not work out perfectly for the heros and heroine. It's just too romance-y, not sci-fi/action enough for me. I found it so boring, I skipped most of the sex scenes. (M-F-M menage, in case you are curious.) I really hate smug HEA endings!

In this book a lab-tech alien named Jaci accidentally doses herself with a gene-altering compound that gives her emotions and she falls in love with two human men. Eventually, they escape the alien complex and stumble upon the perfect place for the humans to hide and mount a resistance.

The story continues with Jaci, a low tech Alvian (Alien). She is part of Mara12's workers and accidently gets the patch with the dna/genetic alterations. She is faced with feelings she's only heard about and studied in the breeds kept in jail. Even before the altertion of her dna, she had always cared for Ruth and her baby, and two cousins, Dave and Michael. She is able to explain what has happened, afraid that the other Alvians will know what she has done. She must come to terms with her feelings if she wants to stay alive.

Bianca D'Arc delivers another hot romance novel filled with tension, surprises, and drama.

The resonance mates series is one of my favorites by this author. This is a story of humans with psychic talents. These talents help them survive in a world which has been taken over by aliens.

The aliens in this series have bread emotion out of the population. They have done horrific things because of this. This particular story centers on an alien science tech Jaci192 who through a lab accident acquires emotions and how this changes her life. She finds her resonance mates within the human prisoners she takes care of. The world building is well thought out. Her journey to her HEA is done with sensitivity to both sides of the conflict alien and human.

I really loved this book. I am addicted to the series. This book explored the relationship of an alien woman, Jacie with two Breed cousins, Mike and Dave. THe Breeds are imprisoned and Jacie is the caretaker. Everything is fine until Jacie accidentally injects herself with emotion activating genes. THen her whole world is thrown into turmoil. You do get some glimpses of the O'Hara family as well as many characters from previous books- Sinclair Prime, Grady Prime, Harry Hara, Callie, Devin and Rick. It takes the story a bit further, Breeds are growing stronger.

Hmmm, wierd dialog. I didn't read the first two books and I was able to keep up with the story fine which is always nice, but I just didn't love this book. Much better romance and much better menage books out there in my opinion. However, I did read it in one sitting and there were some hot scenes :)
