Never Her

Rate this book

Luke

With that crooked smile I long to kiss, and her ocean blue eyes that stole my heart years ago, Paige is a weakness I can’t give into.

She was my one chance to know love before I closed myself off for good.

But it could never be her.

Because she belongs to my brother.

Paige

One look at Luke’s face and all I see is the twin brother who ripped my heart in two.

If it wasn’t for the business proposition Luke makes—and one I desperately need—I’d run fast in the other direction.

Trouble starts when our stares grow more intense, his eyes linger too long on my mouth, and his touch ignites something deep inside I haven’t allowed myself to feel in years.

No matter what happens, I can’t let myself fall for my ex’s twin brother.

He doesn’t do relationships or love.

And I’m scared I’m already in too deep.

A love story spanning over twelve years, NEVER HER is a deep, forbidden love romance with LOL moments, passion and angst, and all the feels. Can be read as a standalone.

This book was everything. It has amazing twists! And Luke… That poor, poor guy. He’s now one of my favorite male characters. The sacrifices he made and the pain he felt at seeing the girl he loved with his brother created a constant ache in my chest. He’s just perfect for Paige. And the way they got closer and she realized she actually loved him and not Bryant was so touching.

Now I can’t wait to see what Kayley has in store for Bryant!

I received a free ARC from Hidden Gems for the promise of an honest review.

It was really good. It is a second chance romance that span several years. Paige and Luke knew each other because Paige's father worked for Luke's father. Luke has an identical twin brother named Bryant. Bryant and Luke did not have the perfect home life. Their parents divorced and their mother drove a wedge between them but Luke always looked out for Bryant. In middle school Bryant played a cruel prank in Paige. On her birthday, Paige's mom forces her to invite Bryant and Luke. Since Bryant did not want to go and Paige didn't know Luke, Luke went to the party as Bryant and apologized. Luke realized he had a crush on Paige. This also started Paige's crush on Bryant. Fast forward a few years and they are all now in high school. Paige and Luke had a class together. Paige starts to have feelings for Luke but still has a crush on Bryant. Paige becomes a pawn in Bryant's war against Luke. Sacrifices are made and years later things come to a head.

This book is emotional. You feel bad for both Luke and Bryant because they were both looking for someone to love them. Paige was the only real person they knew and both wanted. The decisions and sacrifices that are made is gut wrenching. Paige is torn between two brothers who hate each other.

You know when you try a new author, and the book is so incredible that you want to devour everything by that author. This is that book. I could not put this story down, which is great until you realize it is three in the morning, and you have to get up in 4 hours. The relationship between Luke and Bryant bounces between tolerant and volatile. Paige is caught between in a conflict of the heart. She falls for one brother while wondering what would have happened if she was with the other. This is a great story of sacrifice, dedication, purpose, and healing. The emotions this novel brings forth just shows how powerful this love story is. It also shows that timing is everything. Not everything happens when you want it to but happens when fate chooses. I can't wait to read more by this author.

I love this book... I pulled an all-nighter for this one... yes... I was that hooked... I am in love with Luke... Everyone needs to be loved that dearly, the way he loves Paige... Please tell me it's not only a novel thing... please tell me this exists... I always go into depression after this type of novel... I want to witness this purity, once in my life... even if I am not the one feeling this... I want to witness it through others... that'll be more than enough.
Waiting for Bryant's story.

I don’t usually like this type of book, but somehow I couldn’t put it down. Poor Luke. Poor Paige. Poor Bryant. Lies. Tangled webs. So intense.

I was able to read this book in one sitting and I really enjoyed it.

Paige thought she was in love with Bryant, when in reality it was his twin brother Luke who she really had feelings for. Although the 2 were identical, they couldn’t be more different. Because Luke felt bad about Bryant’s situation, he helped Bryant win over Paige even though he was in love with her. He thought Bryant needed her more, when in reality, they both needed her.

This is a continuation with the characters from the story of “Mean Crush”. Luke and Bryant are identical twin brothers. They pretend to be each other one day - Luke goes to Paige’s a school mates birthday party pretending to be Bryant when they are younger to rectify a prank Bryant did to Paige Luke was mad about. Paige and Bryant who never get along spend a game of 7 minutes in heaven in a closet, have a deep conversation, and KISS at Paige’s birthday party (But it was really Luke). Paige thinks she saw a new side of Bryant who was real to her. When Luke arrives back home from the birthday party Bryant is not happy with his brother when he hears what happened.
Years later Luke still cares about Paige very much but, sacrifices and helps his brother Bryant and Paige get together as a couple. It killed him to see them together. Paige helped Bryant when he needed it. Later Bryant broke Paige’s heart. Luke and Paige reconnect again by chance. Paige helps Luke in a way that means everything to him. He has never been able to get close to someone until Paige. Luke needs Paige to see only him. A love story like no other! A great read. I received an ARC for this review.

Good.

Easy reading, with wonderful characters and quite a big dose of angst. The Mason twins sure made an impact on Paige’s life.

Cruel Intent is a great story. Paige and Luke have a love like no other and they know it from the start however twin brothers, half truths and confusion get in the way. I love how the story unfolds. I'm very glad they each finally got their "red skirt"

We first met these characters in Bryce's previous book Mean Crush. In that book we see Paige and her boyfriend Bryant, but little do we know that Bryant's identical twin brother Luke was playing a big part in their back story. In Cruel Intent, we see Paige struggle with feelings toward both brothers. There are misunderstandings and miscommunications that I'm not really the biggest fan of in romance books, but this story read a lot better than most with that type of conflict. This book covers a big chunk of time and skips ahead in time at certain points. I admit that I wanted a little more about what was going on during those time periods that were skipped over, especially with Luke. Overall, I enjoyed this and will surely recommend. I'm interested to see where the author takes the character of Bryant in the next book in the series.

I loved Mean Crush, the first book of the series, and Cruel Intent is a good follow up. The love triangle of Luke, Paige, and Bryant in high school ends with her choosing the wrong brother but years later Luke and Paige get a second chance. Waiting for these two to get their act together was a bit frustrating but ultimately they work it out. Overall, I found this book to be an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the next book of the series.

I loved this second chance romance storyline. Twin brothers both wanting the same girl, one brother who loves her, bows out and allows his twin the chance to find happiness with Paige. When Bryant breaks her heart, destiny provides Luke a second opportunity to win the heart of the woman he loves. Lots of attraction, chemistry, deception, and twists in this great read, and I can hardly wait for the next book. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Oh what a story!!! I wasn't sure how this would play out with identical twins and the one girl they both love. It was nothing I expected. It was so much more!!! These brothers had been though alot growing up, but Paige was the one who could see them both and understand. Cruel Intent starts with Paige's 14th birthday party, a game of truth and dare and lasting memories. Luke, Bryant and Paige's story is a second chance emotional read of misunderstandings, twists, turns, sacrifices, and love. I can't wait for Bryant's story and more from this series!!!

Although this is the second book in the series, it can stand alone. Of course, it's better if you read the first book first, but this story is self contained.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, especially the second half. The thought of being involved with identical twins (albeit at separate times) is mind boggling to me and offered a unique twist to this book. I absolutely love this author's writing style; her books are well written and a joy to read.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Cruel Intent is about how is a love story between 2 twin brothers and a girl.

There are a few twists and turns in the plot and makes you wonder what would happen next. This story between the twins is something I've never read before and I think it's quite interesting and refreshing.

Likes:
✓ I like the analogies used in the book!
That one day, maybe you'd see I am your red skirt, just as you are mine.

✓ The pace of the book was good and didn't feel stuffy at all.

Dislikes:

✗ I've given this book 3 stars instead of 4 because I think it was too short and could have been longer. There definitely could be more at the end.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

So sweet!
Torn between twins and a lifetime of unrequited love. Luke and Bryant are identical on the outside but inside they couldn't be more opposite.
Having known them from grade school through high school, Paige likes both for different reasons. Luke steps aside for his brother even his feelings for Paige are strong. It's so heartbreaking!!
This is a great story with ups and downs and past secrets coming to light. I loved all the characters, even though Bryant was a big jerk most of the time. Great read!

(I also recommend the first book in this series, Mean Crush. It is about Paige's best friend, Tabitha, and her complicated feelings with Paige's older brother, Reed.)

Such a great book. I read it in one day. I felt like I was part of the story and in Paige and Luke’s lives and world. I was sad to say good bye, although very happy with feels.

I read this as part of the ARC team.

I really enjoy this author’s light and easy, yet emotionally deep and real characters. These characters were no different. I identified with how their characters and personalities. She did a good job of providing background, moving the story along and communicating. She uses multiple avenues for conveying the story which I really enjoy—the texts and email conversations are fresh and clever method.

The story was your typical genre—friends to enemies to friends, ex’s brother lover, which brother? But the approach was definitely unique. The character and love portrayed in all characters was deep. The author had me guessing how she would wrap up the loose ends and tie it neatly in the end.

OMG, I love this book so much!!! I wasn't sure how Kayley was going to top Mean Crush, but she certainly did it with this one!! I was so into the story from the very beginning, I just couldn't put it down. I ended up reading it in one afternoon. I absolutely fell in love with Luke, and I loved him and Paige together. This was such an amazing story, spanning from the time Luke was 15/Paige was 14, until Luke was 25/Paige was 24. This is one of my top 3 favorites I've read this year, and Mean Crush is one of the other two! Absolutely recommended!!!

I received a free ARC from the author, and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Life List - Read this book! - This is one book I have really been looking forward to. After reading the sneak preview in Mean Crush I was left desperately wanting to read the rest. I loved the idea of twins switching places, one being nice and one being mean all because the nice one had fallen in love with a girl. Very romantic and sweet but this particular moment paved the path for a long journey of choosing the right one and lots of decision making which Paige found extremely difficult as she is very indecisive. The book was so much more than I was expecting, I was up late reading because I couldn't take my eyes away from this engrossing page turner.

It was so challenging, trying to put myself in Paige's shoes. How would I cope if 2 twins competed for my heart? I really don't know if I could have switched...

That being said, Luke is my favourite. His love is so generous, giving and true, so deep and unwavering, and so forgiving.

He is a true wolf at heart - including having one mate only for his whole life on this whole planet.

I was moved to cheer and hope for him by feelings ripped from deep inside me by all the words written on each page. Well done, K!

Wow

What a twist . I really felt sorry for Luke the most in this book the stuff he had to deal with at home with his mum his twin and then with Paige and still come out the way he is such a gentle soul I loved him. His story was so compelling. Looking forward to read his twins book to understand him better

Did not feel the connection

I had had high hopes for this read but as much as I liked it it was missing the excitement I had when I read Perfect Enemy. It was an ok read and I would recommend the series so far.
