Vigilante Justice is my first read by Jacquelin Thomas, but it won’t be my last – and I have several of her books already calling to me from my TBR list.

Everleigh is one of the most compelling heroines I’ve met so far in a Love Inspired/Suspense book – the secret daughter of a serial killer, a young widow, a single mom, a professor trained in behavioral science. Even just one of those elements would make her intriguing, but all of them combined gives us a truly multi-faceted character with lots of layers to explore. As an added bonus, her personality is warm and witty, and I enjoyed spending time with her and her adorably sassy daughter on these pages.

And there’s swoony Declan who splits his time between being a detective and being a criminal justice professor. His big heart and protective nature make him exactly the right person to help Everleigh and her daughter, and the fact that he’s close to his family makes him even swoonier. He also respects Everleigh – and her mind – enough to not completely relegate her to the sidelines in the investigation, and it was pretty cool for me to watch said investigation fictionally take them 10 miles down the road from where I currently live in real life. When you live near a large city like Atlanta, that’s usually the locale that you see most often in novels – understandably so. But to see several of the smaller towns around my home mentioned was a fun treat that I don’t usually get to experience.

Bottom Line: Vigilante Justice by Jacquelin Thomas is a riveting suspense novel with complex layers and engaging characters. Readers will love meeting Everleigh and her daughter, as well as Declan and his family members, and they will be deeply invested in their safety as men intent on murderous (though misguided) revenge hunt them down. I was captivated by the various dimensions at play – and I was surprised (pleasantly so) by more than one of the twists. If you’re looking for a book with diverse characters who steal your heart, high-stakes suspense that doesn’t get too high-intensity, and a sweet romance, then you need to read Vigilante Justice as soon as possible!

A good sorta -mystery

I wanted so much to love this story, because I enjoy a good mystery. I also like a little romance, even a brief interlude. The mystery part was taken care of nicely. I suspected their was another person hiding in the pages who orchestrated the killing sprees. The romance part was missing in action. The storyline lagged a lot, and I had a time staying focused. Overall, this was a good story. 4.0 stars.

Power in Fear

Losing the ones you love back to back, gives one the strength and courage to keep pushing. This ie especially true for Everleigh, she now has to protect her precious and her self.
Will she do it alone?
Enjoyed the voice of Rae a child who spoke with authority and belief.

Excellent read

Excellent read, I liked the characters and storyline. Everleigh had a rough few years with the death of her husband and mother. She also found out some news that potentially put her daughter and her life in danger due to the actions of a father she never met. Declan a handsome professor/ police detective comes into their life. This is a mystery thriller, they are working to find the vigilante that wants to harm Everleigh and her daughter. In the process attraction and forever happiness is on the horizon.

Baby, I read this in one night. This novel was not my general genre, however. I needed an all night read. Everleigh and Dr. Blanchet did the thing. I was so happy and proud of them. Baby Rae will grow up proud of them and herself. Loved it.

Imagine getting a anonymous letter from someone that you and your daughter is going to die. This is what happened to Everleigh Taylor and she is determined to find out who is behind threatening her and her 5 year old daughter Raye.
Everleigh goes to a fellow colleague professor Declan Blanchet who is also a Charleston SC police detective.
She suspects that it could be Wyle Gaines who befriended her mother and when she passed away, Wyle Gaines was upset that Everleigh wouldn't sell her mother's house to him.
Then there is the horrible secret of who her father James Ray Powell, a convicted serial rapist and murderer serving jail time for his crimes.
Someone is targeting anyone that is related to Powell also. Can this be a coincidence?
The storyline pulls you right in from the very beginning. There is a lot of plot twist and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I usually can figured out who the person is that is committing the crime but this storyline had me guess wrong and I didn't see that ending coming as to who is really the culprit.
This is Jacquelin Thomas's third mystery and suspense book she has published and I must say each book tops the next in excellent Storylines and Plots along with a little romance.
I highly recommend this book to read.
