Keep to yourself, look out for number one. That had always been Laec Matthews’ motto, his only defense against the murderous urges that lived within him.
But now a young girl has gone missing, and he’s suddenly got strangers asking for his help to find her. Against all his instincts, he finds himself drawn into a search that leads him across worlds and reveals secrets about his own demonic origin.
Can he sacrifice his own self-preservation to save the girl? And if he’s successful, what will be the cost to his soul?

I found this book through a social media ad and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I loved the fact that it's a fantasy and God is not the bad guy. The main character is well written and stays true to his inherent nature throughout the story. The dialogue between the MC and the other characters was my favorite part of the book. I would definitely recommend this to the fantasy readers in my life.
