If someone told me that a book full of foul-mouthed, tattooed bikers would have a similar vibe to the movie You've Got Mail, I wouldn't have believed them.
On Edge takes the traditional rough-around-the-edges biker MMC and adds levels of depth that had me crying and desperate to give him a hug. I absolutely devoured this book in one shot, because I refused to put it down!
In some ways it feels like a slow burn, but that's definitely not for a lack of spice! Be sure to have a fire-extinguisher handy in case your Kindle starts to overheat like mine did, because WOW.
If you want to take a chance on a biker romance, OR if you're looking for a Broody-Alphahole MMC who will melt your heart AND your panties, I definitely recommend On Edge!!!
If you love a twin-flame romance and traumatized MCs, a tough FMC and a morally grey brooding MMC this book is for you! It was a unique twist on the MC genre it’s definitely all about the bikes, but seems less traditional in how they meet etc. And don’t get me started on the ending. I thought she was going to do me dirty and leave me hanging for a minute.
I received a complimentary advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
This was my first motorcycle book and WOW. I felt like it was my own heart going through everything while also feeling like a giant cheerleader for Jake and Bec. The struggles they endured in the past and the trauma they had to move through in the present. It was such a heart wrenching story while at the same time being such a fun and easy read.
The story of Rebecca and Jake romance was really cute! Rebecca is an author writing a book on biker romance and Jake is a a biker! I really enjoyed the plot and the characters! The book was told in dual perspective from Jake and Rebecca’s point of view. This book had a lot of spice and includes a lot of hot sex! This book was a quick and easy read and I was able to finish in about two days or three sittings. I hope their will be another book or a follow up about Summer and Tony. I wish the story ended with more knowledge of how Rebecca’s story went,if she was able to finish writing, and publish it or not. On Edge was published on Friday, October 28th!
I got this book from a local author book fair and I love a good morally gray lead so of course I wanted to give it a go. It was just okay for me. It felt alittle long and then rushed at the very end all at the same time. I also didn’t love how repetitive some words/ phrases were. I was over “darlin” and her gasping by the end. I did love the representation of mental health struggles and finding ways to cope though. And how the characters helped one another get through their past traumas.
This book is so good and leaves you wanting so much more.
Jake, oh my gosh, he is freaking hot. He's a biker guy, but his past haunts him every day until he starts talking to a lady who wants to know about bikes.
Rebecca, she is so sweet, but you would never know she has her own ghost to fight with from what happened to her.
I'm so glad Rebecca and Jake help each other with their past problems and what they've been through.
This book has so many twists and turns. It has a lot of spice in it. I highly recommend this book if you love biker dudes, dark romance, and spice.

Review: Well this took me by surprise in the best way! Wowza, this was so emotionally charged and compelling.
Jake has toughened and numbed himself through the years as a means to handle his PTSD and past parental abuse (both physical and emotional). Women are just one night stands, he speaks very little and has black outs where he loses time (a severe PTSD trauma by product). However one night in a biker chat room he strikes up conversations with Becca, an aspiring author who wants to gain insight on the MC world for her romance novel.
Despite his broodiness and reticence, he can't shake how she's breaking through the tiny cracks of his titanium heart and making him feel. They eventually meet, their connection deepens but he has fears that his darkness and his true self will scare her or worse...hurt her.
I am riveted by how this slow burn relationship evolved so dramatically over them by just texts for almost 40% of the book! Their conversations just tugged at my heart...hearing their vulnerability, their pains of abuse, how they find it so hard to face that pain and then how we dive deeper into their internal POV's...it's highly sensitive but dealt with delicate care.
Jake is a grizzly bear, hulking, handsome, brooding, but in truth he has such a golden heart when he feels love and protects Becca like a lion. His bouts of black outs are both frightening and heart clenching stuff. In the the aftermath, he is a wreck and punishes himself and it breaks my heart. I loved him so much!
Becca is a survivor of an abusive ex-husband. The scenes of how she has fear of intimacy episodes are handled with great sensitivity. This story is about healing but also doesn't shy away from the harsh pain and ugliness. But amidst it all, these two wounded souls find strength and empower each other. Their love is hard won and by then end, forged in fire and steel! Highly intense emotionally with action/suspense. I want more!
OH. MY. GOD!!! I’ve always liked MC romance but they haven’t been at the top of my ‘love to read’ pile. Until that is Ashlynn Pearce and the first book ‘On Edge’ arrived on my kindle. What an absolutely compelling and addictive read. The emotions jump up and pull you in, the depth creating a beautiful, magical world that I wasn’t ready to leave at the end of the book. Jake is such a beautifully damaged soul. Hiding his need for love and acceptance behind his stoic alpha persona. The pain he endured as a child is a pain no child should have to be subjected. The sheer fact that he’s still functioning is a testament to his strength of character. While he may not be a poster boy for clean living, he is the epitome of a soul deep bad boy with a heart of gold for the person who could Manage to see past his abruptness, his cold ‘don’t screw with me’ persona. Jake is a truly beautiful character. His flaws simply make him that much more appealing. The urge to reach through the pages and tell him that I saw the man behind the mask and he was beautiful was like an itch I couldn’t scratch. Not to mention that the man was seriously hot!!! Bec. If I could have swapped places with her I would have in a heartbeat. She may be small in stature but mentally she is as strong as an ox. Watching her piece her life back together was awe inspiring. The pain she went through no doubt changed her, but from my standpoint it changed her in a good way. She’s a strong woman, even if it takes her time to realise that, she’s open, her soul as beautiful as her looks. Watching Jake and Bec battle their demons was heart rendering. They understood each other on a level no other could. Watching them get to know each other from the inside out was so spellbinding it was blinding. Their chemistry, passion and connection to each other was mind blowing, bright enough to light the darkest of nights. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series. I could not recommend this book highly enough. 20 million star review
Ashlynn Pearce wrote an amazing story. I fell in love with Jake and Becca's characters. On Edge is the first book of the Rolling Asylum Motorcycle Club series. It is about two individuals who are trying to recover from their past trauma.
Becca is a writer trying to gather information about motorcycle clubs on a bike forum for her upcoming romance novel. She accidentally messages Jake, thinking he is someone else. Jake is pretty much plays by his own rules, raised in a very abusive and dysfunctional family setting. He takes interest in Becca, which is unusual for him. Jake is mire of a one night stand, get out of my house, don't need your name kind of guy. Becca is standing at about 5 feet tall and is fiesty. She does not take any of Jake's attitude. She makes him into better man. I love that Ashlynn wrote Becca's character, a survivor who refuses to let her past stop her from living. Yes, she experiences triggers and may shut down from time to time, but she is not weak. She is divorced. Her ex is controlling and abusive and refuses to let her go, so he does stalks her from time to time. When Jake finds out that her ex is harassing her again, he starts feeling protective over her, especially when the effect of her past sneaks in when they are together. Jake experiences PTSD from his abusive past as well. He will blackout and lose himself without realizing it. Together, Becca and Jake heal each other and are just perfect. I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️++ and for the spice let ne tell you the spice 🥵 Ashlynn, thank you. Phone sex had a whole new meaning when it came to Jake and Becca's conversations, and I'm not complaining. On Edge does not lack any spice scenes at all. I gave it 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶+++ I can't wait for the next book, Toxic Edge. Hopefully, we get a glimpse of how Jake and Becca are doing.
“You can’t stop time, but you can make each moment count.”
On Edge deals with heavy themes, please check trigger warnings before reading.
I was expecting a cute little motorcycle romance book. I wasn’t expecting to feel so many emotions! Ashlynn Pearce takes the typical rough and closed-off MMC and gives him depth and a certain amount of trauma that made me tear up. I loved Jake; I just wanted to give him all the hugs and cuddles. Ashlynn was able to write pain in such a way that you felt it as your own. Tissues definitely became my best friend on this journey.
I found it hard to put the book down. You are sucked in by the prologue and were sad to see it end in the last chapter. I am so happy that this is going to be a series, so I can get to know and love the other characters as well!
In my opinion, this book had an amazing plot, and the spice was *chef’s kiss*. Between the chats/ texts, I felt like the characters were my friends. Especially with the 20 questions. Every character felt like they had depth, layers, and personalities. Everything was also very descriptive, including appearance. It made it easy to see a movie in my head.
I’m going to keep this short so I don’t give anything away, but if you like your characters to have a little bit of trauma and find a happy ending, then I would read this book!
Favorite Quotes: “I love the man you are. No one else understands me like you do. No one else is you.”
“You make me feel beautiful.” “Because you are.”
“I embrace all of you. No matter who you are to the world, you will always own every beat of my heart.”

On Edge was a cute read. The book has dark themes to it, which in turn makes it more into the dark romance genre. It has been quite some time since I have read something on the tamer side. All in all, On Edge is a great read for anyone starting off in dark romance.
We follow Rebecca (Becca) and Jake (Jag).
Rebecca is a divorced, aspiring author who is stuck in a rut trying to write a Motorcycle Romance. The problem is that she has no idea where to even start with. Diving into a Motorcycle Forum she stumbles upon Jake.
Jake is a broody, adrenaline junkie who is plagued with an extremely dark past; fueled with nightmares and blackouts. Jake likes to be alone, not really having a big group of people he stays around. I wouldn't consider Jake being a ladies' man, just because he doesn't really go pursuing female. They just seem to fall into his grasp for one night only.
One night Jake is going through a forum when he stumbles on Rebecca. His curiosity gets the best of him, and he indulges in her questions. Questions one-night turns into talking daily. Then eventually meeting up in person. Jake is attacked with a foreign feeling. Not really knowing what it is, he has a hard time allowing himself to give himself to Rebecca.
I would rate the spice in this book a 3. Just because I felt like it was repetitive with the moves and the saying. I feel like the characters could have said a lot more when it comes to that sense. Not just the same two or three phrases.
This book had me absolutely engrossed from the very first page to the very last! I couldn’t put it down and read it in one day.
The main characters, Jake and Becca, first meet on an online motorcycle forum as Becca is wanting to learn about the MC life as she is wanting to write a MC romance. In the past, they have both suffered from emotional and physical abuse and Becca has received counselling to help with her PTSD but Jake absolutely refuses to speak about it to anyone other than Becca. It is totally heart wrenching to learn the level of abuse he has encountered throughout his life
This is the first book in the new ‘Rolling Asylum Motorcycle Club’ series. It’s well written and the storyline is totally captivating and enthralling. I cannot wait for further instalments in this series, I hope Tony and Summer, Jake and Becca’s best friends, have a story! This book is a definite must read and would highly recommend if you like dark and gritty, smoking HOT and STEAMY MC romance. An excellent 5 star read (I would award if more if I could)!.

On Edge follows Jake who is tough, antisocial and has some serious childhood trauma which leaves him never letting anyone get close to him or thinking about love. Becca is sweet, loving and trying to start her life over and become a published author after divorcing her abusive husband. Jake and Becca meet in an online motorcycle forum when Becca accidentally messages the wrong person for research purposes regarding the book she is writing. This is where the story grabbed my heart and refused to let go.
Jake is protective of Becca and shows her how she should be treated in life. Becca gives Jake what he has never been given before love and affection. This story had me crying, giggling and cheering for Jake and Becca to see what everyone around them can see that they belong together. I loved that the characters were relatable, and with both main characters having survived abuse the subject was handled perfectly with so much strength, healing and growth. I can't wait to read the next book in this series and if MC romance is your vibe than this is one book you will definitely want to read.
Jake, the rough and gruff biker teddy bear, has my heart 100%. I'm a complete goner for cyber love, and Ashlynn did not disappoint.
Jake lives life on edge, chasing for that second of light in all the hours full of darkness. Bruised and battered after a childhood from hell, Jake's trauma runs marrow deep. His emotional pain on the best of days is on a 12 out of 10. Until Bec. Bec and her brown eyes, and her deep understanding of everything that makes him tick.
The twists, the turns, the love <3 (whispers: the spiiiiice)
Favourite quote: "Finally, I don't have to spend another night without you."
GOD, considering Jake is who he is, the power of this quote... SWOON.

On Edge is the first book from the Rolling Asylum Motorcycle Club series
This book had all the feels was it was truly an emotional rollercoaster from the very first page. Jake the mmc had such a awful childhood it was heartbreaking 💔
Becca a writer & is wanting to write a MC romance.. Jake & Becca meet on an online mc forum, I love how they got to know each other and talking throu there past traumas…
This book was dark, gripping & I loved the chemistry between the mmc & mfc the plot and spice was so good 🔥
This is the first in a new series, and this is Jake and Becca’s story. These two first meet on an online MC forum, when Becca is researching about an MC novel she wants to write. These two have both endured emotional and physical abuse in their pasts, and they find solace in each other. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and an action packed, emotional roller coaster, with heartbreak, romance, healing, and love, which leads to an entertaining, heartwrenching, haunting, tragic, and steamy captivating page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This book is about Bec that is working in writing a book on bikers. During her research she comes across Jake who is a biker. Jake has a bit of trauma that he has not completely worked out and has made him the way he is. When jake decided to reply to Bec he did not see coming how life changing that would be. Their story is amazing, and I loved hoy they complemented each other and helped each other heal. Having the right person is so beautiful and unique. The book is descriptive and well written. It is easy to follow and the spice in this book is extremely good. To the author send these types of books my way any day.
I loved how this story unfolded, and how Jakes story slowly explained why he was so withdrawn/antisocial/asshole-ish. He met Becca online on a biker forum as she was gathering intel on bikers so she could write a biker romance.
Becca understood Jake as she had her own demons and had some tools from her own therapy to help with PTSD/Blackouts/meltdowns.
Jake is an amazingly well written character as is Becca.

Man learning about Jake's past like that was rough.... but how Jake and Becca met was pretty cool and unique. I really loved how their relationship started and how it expanded throughout the book without them meeting. I also really loved how Becca needed/wanted Jake. Gosh these two were meant for each other to help each other through their pasts, and pains. I loved this book! Also let me tell you On Edge was the perfect title for this book! Once you read it you'll understand.
Omg! Omg! Omg! This book. This book is everything! I do not think Jake could be sexier if he tried! The backwards hat, the swagger, the cut … he is just delicious! The love and care he shows for Becca had me swooning! Becca is such a sweet, strong and understanding character and I rooted for her the whole time! Both MC had gone through some of the worst experiences, yet they still stayed true to their loyal and loving selves. I loved this book SO much! I just finished it, yet I want to read it again!
These two have so much personal baggage! This whole relationship is doomed from the start. Jake never had an easy life at home as child. Becca lost her father at a young age and then married a horrible man. The shared trauma between them is what they bonded over. But it is also what tore them apart. What happens when all of that comes together? Read this book to find out!.

Emotional rollercoaster is how i describe my feelings as I read this. Did I want to smack Jake than hug him tight? Yes. Did I want to yell at Becca to get a backbone than praise her for her strength? Yes. These two deserve every bit of happiness & the scotching blaze that sizzles between them. Amazing secondary characters. Awesome start to the series.

Wow! What an incredible emotional experience in a book! The relationship between Bec and Jake was magic. The way they leaned on each other and found solace in each other was beautiful. The sex was steamy hot. There was dark past flashbacks which made me cry for the characters. When they found their HEA it was perfect! Great job by the author!!.

Arc review: I would love to thank ashley for giving me the opportunity to read this book I really enjoyed. I highly recommend other to read it. This was my first book of hers and she didn’t failed me cause I got attached to the whole story and the characters the book had everything I wanted to read in I can’t wait to read more of her books as well cause she became one of my favorite authors to my list.
Well this definitely had everyone including myself on edge! You have this super charming biker who literally makes you want to squirt from how he is described to how he comes off. Can be a bit too much, at times, but it was his charismatic self that had me wanting to continue reading.
The biker scene and vibe was pretty awesome! I liked how I can feel me being side by side with the guys.
This book was seriously so good. I absolutely devoured it in literally 2 days. From the second I started reading it, I was hooked. Jake and Becca were everything I didn't know I needed in my life. For me, I was able to connect to both of their stories and honestly, in a way, this book taught me a little about healing in it's own way. I also relate to the way they meet and instantly connected. And the spice, of my gawd, the spice was spicccceyyyyy!!!

I found this book to be a very entertaining read. The plot was well written and flowed really smoothly. Lots of MC action and suspense are all in this book. The main couple had very romantic chemistry between them. I would recommend this book to anyone else who may read this genre.

This was a really enjoyable MC book! It was different than your usual MC Romance and I found that really great! The way the relationship between Bec & Jake came to be was so unique and fun to read, and the drama and trauma that came with it was so heartbreaking but when it came back around, ugh it was everything BEFORE another twist, which then gave you a beautiful ending.
