This third-grade pack includes Sadiq and the Fun Run (fiction) and Helping in the Community (nonfiction), along with a parents' guide and activity sheets. The fiction title features the popular character Sadiq, whose friends are all signing up to play football. When Sadiq asks his parents to sign him up too, they say he's too young. They suggest he try a different sport--running. From the start, Sadiq has a bad attitude about Run Club. Can his coach convince him that being tough and competitive doesn't always mean tackling and hitting? The nonfiction title teaches readers what volunteering is, why it is important, and how they can volunteer to help their community become a better place.

Anjan Sarkar is an illustrator based in Sheffield, England. Anjan graduated in 2001 from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA Hons degree in Illustration with Animation. He went on to work as a freelance illustrator providing images for advertising and concept artwork and storyboards for animation. Since focussing on children’s books in 2016, he has illustrated over 25 titles including picture books, chapter books and early readers books.
