I am always for a sharp tongued and realistic fml! There was a great balance of plot, spice, and humor in this and the length was just right.

Maeve is a people pleaser, a woman that did as she was told and walked the line. With her wedding just around the corner, her whole world goes up in flames when she catches her fiancée with another woman. The good girl in her snaps, the bad girl wants a little fun!
Oliver moved back town to take care of his mom. He lives a bit of a closed off life, with his job as a police officer and his two friends. After a long day of getting his mom settled into a nursing home, he celebrates by having a fun night out of drinking. Mission; have fun and make friends. What isn’t on the agenda is the beautiful woman sitting next to him that looks likes trouble!
Holy mother of one-night stands. These two are hot and heavy from jump street. I loved every bit of it. Maeve reacted like any reasonable woman should after finding out her fiancé was cheating on her; balls to the wall, rules were meant for breaking! I loved all the shenanigans Maeve got into and how Oliver was always there with her! THE ROOFTOP SCENE!!! A super fun, funny and quick read!

I loved this book!!! It's a novella, so it's a quick read, but every word was perfect!
Maeve is a people pleaser, always does the right thing, never does anything wrong, she has never even been drunk before, but all of that changes when she catches her fiancé cheating on her. When this happens, she has had enough and decides it is time to start living life how she wants to live it. AND IT IS AMAZING!!! I love a woman who doesn't care and speaks her mind. Yes QUEEN!! And Ms. Elliot does an amazing job with this character. Her internal dialogue about how she changes and grows, is perfect. Then she meets sexy cop Oliver...
Oliver is the new cop in town. He moved to be closer to his sick mom and when he sees Maeve for the first time, sparks. Then when he sees her again, he has to arrest her. But nothing will stop the two of them from being together. Oliver is the perfect man for her. He lets her be whoever she wants to be and does not hold her back.
And the dirty talk in this book....girl! YES!!!

Must read!
You know when you hear some guy condescendingly say that a woman is “too much”? It means she’s freaking awesome and should be your best friend. That woman is Maeve! God I freaking loved her! As the oldest kid who has control issues and thinks I have to be perfect All. The. Time… Maeve resonated with me. I absolutely loved watching her pull the stick out, and learning who she really is. And goodness gracious.. freaking Oliver.. ugh! NOTHING is hotter than a good guy with a dirty mouth! That golden retriever energy mixed with dominance in the bedroom? Absolute perfection! The chemistry and banter was insanely hot! I enjoyed the reverse grumpy/sunshine vibe at the beginning of the book. Maeve had every right to be angry and watching her unleash it was fantastic. Oliver and Maeve’s banter was quick and funny and honestly it was fantastic foreplay. Even though this was a quick read with an instalove feel, it was believable and relatable. I loved every minute of it and I wouldn’t mind seeing more from them. Great job Daphne, I absolutely loved this book!

I can't tell you how excited I am to return to Havenport and this is such a great way to return. I absolutely loved Maeve & Oliver's story. Maeve has been knocked down by life, after all, it is always a joy to find you fiancé cheating on you mere weeks away from the wedding, causing her carefully crafted "perfect" life to implode. This leads to such a great journey of self discovery and prioritizing yourself over other's expectations.
You also get one sexy police officer in the mix and a lot of fun.

such a cute and steamy story
Daphne Elliot is a new to me author. I picked this book up for a reading challenge and i just enjoyed this story. A Touch of Wrath is a quick read (novella). Maeve is such a sassy female character. I love her spunk! She goes on a “bad girl” spree when she finds her fiancé cheating on her when she arrives home early after a work trip. She goes out and picks up a one night stand at a local bar. The one night stand turns put to be Oliver, a newish to town police officer. They have a hot and heavy one night stand. Maeve walks out in the middle of the night and they don’t meet up again when he arrests her a few months later. There is a lot of fun banter that had me chuckling throughout the story. Oliver falls hard for Maeve and reading their story to their HEA is such a delight.

A Touch of Wrath is a fantastic novella that will have you wanting more. What more is there to do when you catch your fiance with another woman three weeks before your wedding? Well if your Maeve and you are a people pleaser you decided to do the complete opposite of what the world would expect you to do. One-night stands are something that you have never done so why not when you meet one of Havenport's hunky officers, Oliver, at a bar. Well for Maeve that wasn't enough so she decided to take it a step further only then to be arrested by her one-night stand. This is where the story takes a turn. Hot steamy nights, a dirty-talking cop, banter that is great and personal growth takes place all in this novella. A definite must-read.

Maeve Watson has been a good girl all her life, but that changes when she walks in on something she never expected to see. All bets are off now. This good girl is ready to channel all her anger into being a bad girl.
Oliver is the new guy in town, and on the force. After his epic experience with "Angela" and then she ghosts him, he sure doesn't expect what he sees when he takes a vandalism call in this small-town. This call will show him much damage 'one small woman' can really do.
I loved every page of this good girl-gone bad quick read romance. Maeve Watson is definitely someone I'd love to take notes from. I highly recommend!

spicy story
Daphne did it again in this short but sweet and spicy novella! I wish I could have gotten a full length story for Oliver and Mauve but Daphne wrote an incredible short story that left me feeling warm and tingly and 100% emotionally satisfied with their love story.
My favorite quote for a Touch of Wrath is:
“Slowly, I was coming around to it. To a life where I called the shots and didn’t spend every waking moment trying to be the most perfect woman to ever exist.”
Every woman in existence needs this gentle reminder at some point in their life ❤️

This was a quick and fun novella to read! I enjoyed it very much!

After catching her fiance cheating, she's done playing nice. Done being good. Done people pleasing. She decides to live for herself. Even if that means breaking some rules.
Her rule breaking catches the eye of Oliver who is the new cop in Havenport. And let me say, the chemistry between these two is H-O-T!

Where is my Sergeant Sexypants??? LoL. It was really fun and s€xy read. I love Oliver and Maeve, the first meeting was intense and the second one too lol. Maeve is definitely a rebel girl, but she really needs it, to be finally free and happy. And Oliver is her personal guidance in this journey. This was a quick read full of love, romance and steam.

Absolutely loved the newest book in the Vices and Virtues series. Maeve was about to get married to a man who was just using her. Freeing herself after finding him cheating on her she meets Oliver the newest sergeant on th police squad where she lives. These two have such a funny, incredible happily ever after. New to Daphne's books and already a fan.

I absolutely loved this book. It’s a novella, so it was a super quick read. But there was so much packed into this story. It was funny, and heartwarming.. Plus, it has a kick-ass female main character, who decides she’s no longer going to live her life to please everyone one. Or try to be perfect anymore. Finding her fiancé cheating was a blessing in disguise for her. She went out, and had a smoking hot one night stand with a sexy cop, and got revenge on her cheating ex. And Oliver.. he is this sweet, guy. He encourages Maeve when she says she wants to be a little bit bad. These characters are wonderful, and the story was beautifully written. Highly recommend this, and any book by this author.

This is the PERFECT small town steamy novella!!
I absolutely loved the Female main character Maeve! She was a strong bad***!
Maeve was always the good girl who did what she was told but with her wedding coming soon and then her finding her crappy fiancé cheating on her she snapped and the bad girl came out to play! And oh did she ever!!

I absolutely LOVED this novella! Maeve was this perfect, goody two shoes woman, and then she turns into a straight BADASS who figures out who she actually is and how she wants to live life.
