In a fast-paced, rapidly changing world, children struggle to cope with the sheer multiplicity of stimuli and expectations. It could get overwhelming for the still-developing minds of the young. How do we get them to pause for a moment? What will help them take on challenges calmly?

The book is packed with 75 Sanskrit and Hindi verses, including transliterations in English, with explanations, and encourages kids to include the practice of reading and chanting into their daily lives.

Very sweet and handy book for children but equally useful for grown-ups/adults like me who didn't have the opportunity to learn Sanskrit during our childhood. Although its pretty late in my life that I have started learning Sanskrit I think it is never too late to connect back with my roots. There is a treasure house of knowledge (Vidya and Gyan) in our culture hidden in the various texts and scriptures. It will be most unfortunate for us if we do not pursue and gain from that knowledge. This book is a good beginning for today's children so that they are introduced to our scriptures from a young age. At least, the sparks an interest in the kids.

Uplifting, soul stirring book- Highly recommend as a School teacher.

Being a teacher, my job is not limited to just teach children in schools. In this age of Kali, i being a history teacher try to inculcate the values and wisdom of our great Indian culture and heritage, so that these little ones could grow as ideals like Shri Ram, Raja Harishchandra etc.

Searching for a book to recommend to the librarian of my school, i just glanced through the introduction to author Swami Mukundananda, i got inspired to read this book as he is not only a vedic scholar but also highly educated i.e. IIT, IIM alumnus.

To my amazement, i found it an ocean of pearls of highly elevating wisdom. As I swam across it, I felt that all the contents were close to my heart, it includes all the values i always wished to inculcate in the hearts of those innocent ones...

Like for example, in the junior classification,
The sloka on seeking forgiveness from mother earth triggeres a 'soul search'.
The Sloka on Vishnu "shantakaram bhujagashayanam" is a thought purifier.
In the senior section,
the sloka on guru throws light on the positive impact of Guru and his importance.
The Shanthi Mantra " Om Bhadram" is what we all should aspire for.

In this manner, the book covers every aspect of our life. It gives us a treasure chest of knowledge to learn and shape ones life. It is a soul- stirring book for everyone, i being an adult got inspired reading it and surely would uplift the hearts of little ones and they would grow into great human beings as i always desired... I have ordered few copies for my school, will order more in future. Thank you.

This book is a consolidation of key shlokas and mantras that are easy to comprehend, remember and implement. A must buy for every household. It has Sanskrit and Hindi verses, including translations in English (with explanation) that encourages readers to include the practice of reading and chanting in their daily lives.
I believe that a habit of reading should be inculcated in children from the very start. Books like this are the perfect choice to get kids interested not only in reading, but also in our spiritual ways. I cannot help but recommend that everyone should have a copy of this on their bookshelves. It's a handy reference to have when you've always chanted something by habit, but would like to have a better understanding of what a particular shloka & mantra means before we bring it to our tongues.
I picked this up on the ocassion of Diwali and I can truly say I couldn't have bought anything better.

This short book is filled with wisdom, for it comprises shlokas, mantras, bhajans and wisdom nuggets for juniors as well as seniors. Divided into two age groups, the content is easy to remember and comprehend. In this fast-paced life, the children hardly have any opportunity to indulge in spiritual learning that helps in cleansing the soul in the long run. Hence, this book is worth their time because it offers snippets of wisdom in simplified and engaging form. There are supporting illustrations that are cute and delightful to look at. I opted for this book for my daughter and I think every parent should have this on their shelf.
