Ludo Carstairs and Michael Garris – expert paranormal investigators – head to Poland. Former colleagues of theirs are in desperate need of help. Having broken into one of the plushest residences in Warsaw, a female agent has vanished into sheer emptiness.
There’s an item these colleagues have been hunting. A strange and whispered about object from the darkest days of Joseph Stalin’s Russia. One with such appalling power, if it fell into the wrong hands, the consequences will be devastating.
Could it be that the missing woman has not only found the object, but fallen victim to it?
Suddenly, outside the building, comes a horrifying death. Their driver ages five hundred years within seconds, so his body resembles a freshly disinterred mummy. It seems there are other hunters in this game, the inheritors of one of the most terrifying departments in the KGB, and they are closing in fast.
As danger arrives from all sides, Ludo realises the only way to save themselves is to destroy the object they sought. But this can only be done in the most dangerous place on the planet…
Can he succeed, or does death alone wait in The Bermuda Triangle of cities?

F.R. Jameson was born in Wales, but now lives in London with his wife and young daughter. He writes both historical thrillers and supernatural thrillers.
His books are, at the moment, mostly sorted into two different – but complimentary – series. The first, ‘Screen Siren Noir’, currently comprises of three novels: ‘Diana Christmas’, ‘Eden St. Michel’ and ‘Alice Rackham’. All of which tell the stories of beautiful British film stars caught up in Noir tales of blackmail, obsession, scandal and death. He is currently working on both the fourth and fifth books in the series.
The second series is more disturbing and scary, and lives under the moniker: ‘Ghostly Shadows’. Right now there is only one book published, a tale of supernatural revenge – ‘Death at the Shadows’. However, 2019 will bring four more entries to terrify and intrigue.

Introducing another supernatural being with very interesting powers, this book starts with a bang and doesn't slow down.
Can Ludo and Michael help these new acquaintances find a highly valuable object and even more valuable agent or will the forces in this abandoned city be their demise?
Jameson has knocked it out of the park again with the second book of his Ludo Carstairs series. A fun, mystery for any lover of the supernatural.
Excellent continuation of the Ludo Carstairs series! The characters are such fun and the mirror world that the author built was fascinating. Reading this book was like visiting wonderland, but a wonderland with Russian soldiers, attack bears and a girl who can kill with her touch. I don't think I'd ever be disappointed in a book about Garris and Carstairs.
This was such an action-packed book! I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one! I went into it expecting another supernatural murder investigation, but instead got a spy thriller/mystery with high stakes and a fast-moving plot! Garris and Ludo's characters continued to entertain me in this installment. Their dynamic is written so well with the way their personalities balance each other out - Garris with his cautious uncertainty and Ludo with his brash confidence in both their abilities (his confidence in Garris' piloting skills was SO funny!). All the new characters who were introduced had well-developed backstories, and I enjoyed learning about all of them. As mentioned before, I found the plot to be super fast-paced, and I loved how much action was going on - poor Garris and Ludo really couldn't catch a break! The story is so easy to get sucked into, and I couldn't put it down. This was such a fun read to relax with, and I can't wait to see what mysteries Ludo and Garris get pulled into next!
Thank you, FR Jameson, for providing me with the ARC!
This duo has some great adventures and this one was no different. When Ludo and Garris are dragged into an interesting situation, Ludo knows they might be in for something extraordinary. When things start going wrong right from the start, Ludo knows several things have been left out. More entities are involved with discovering the mirror and the person within. When the Soviets ask what seems to be an impossible task, Ludo realizes more than a case is at stake. The lives of all involved could very well come to an end. Following Garris as he tries to find a way to help Ludo was just as much of a task as what Ludo needed to do. The cleverness upon which Ludo finds a solution is why these books appeal to me. This story was written in a way that I could imagine it as an episode of a streaming channel could offer. Just the description alone of the helicopter escape was breathtaking. I look forward to more of these stories from this author.
What he have here is essentially a supernatural locked room mystery.
Ludo Carstairs and Michael Garris are once again on the case after being asked to help solve a disappearance. This time however it’s not a public affair, they have been asked to help another secret organisation with their troubles.
What I appreciated in this book is that it managed to spend most of it in a very limited time/space. Book one took us all over the place hunting down a serial killer, but here we spend a good chunk of time in one apartment. Book two was definitely a much more fast paced affair and I think that’s great when it comes to keeping a book series fresh.
This one also opened up a lot more in regards to the breadth of the supernatural elements out there in this world, which again is promising for the continuation of the series.
I look forward to the next adventure and hope to see more of Ludo living up to being the namesake of the series.
Mirror, Mirror, on the wall...do Russian parallel dimensions exist?
Ludo Carstairs and Michael Garris continue on their adventures as members of The Organization. The Organization are investigators of the strange, uncanny and supernatural.
This time, they find themselves forced to investigate a parallel dimension which is controlled by a relic of a man left over from Stalin's reign.
The Ludo Carstairs series promises action-packed adventure and unique paranormal activities. I enjoy that like in the first book, Mirror Demon has a completely original concept. I will continue to read this series. The books are highly entertaining, and great for breaking out of a reading slump.
Many thanks to the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a fabulous novel from start to finish. F.R. Jameson has done a great job with this very clever story. He has that unique ability to pull you into the story, so nothing else exists around you. Probably the stand out for me is that there is always something happening, and the story moves along at a good pace, with so many great characters. Ludo Carstairs and Michael Garris are once again called in to investigate something truly bizarre and mystifying. However, this is the sort of investigation they both excel at, anything that sits outside of what’s considered normal, and what’s about to unfold is anything but normal. I spent so many wonderful hours reading this novel. Strongly recommend this as a wonderful read. 5/5 Star Rating.
This is the second installment of the Ludo Carstairs series. I really do love the world that Jameson has created here. It has a great urban fantasy yet detective saga feel to it. As always the Ludo/Garris duo is a dream to read about. I really have grown attached to these characters.
Without saying too much, the stakes feel really high really fast in this book. It really felt like no one was safe so I couldn't put the book down, I needed to know what happened next! This is a great follow up to The Nemesis Touch. I can't wait to see what situations these characters find themselves in next time around.
I really enjoy the duo aspect between Ludo and Michael their relationship just flows for me, I think that is one thing that I really enjoy in these stories. I also love how the supernatural elements he puts into these mystery novels! I was intrigued by them when he asked me if I would like to read them an I am sure glad I said yes! I will say looking in a mirror takes on a whole new meaning to me, another great story written by F.R. Jameson they always keep a good pace for me an always come with good twist.
I hate mysteries, yet I made it through this book. It takes a powerful author to not only get me to agree to read a mystery but to make it all the way through without rage quitting. Jameson has some skill, even if I wish he would stop convincing me I needed to read more mysteries.
Amazing twists and turns. Just didn't do it for me, because it was a great mystery.
The perfect second in series! Suspenseful, addictive and entertaining! A very well-written book with wonderfully-interesting characters. The suspense builds at just the right pace as the story unfolds. Will keep you swiping the pages furiously. Worthy of your TBR list. I am so excited for the next in this series!!!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book from in order to read and provide a voluntary and honest review, should I choose to do so.
Ludo Carstairs and Michael Garris are back in the second of the Ludo Carstairs Supernatural Thrillers. This one involves a mirror unlike any other mirror that anyone has come across! The two enter forgotten and abandoned cities, whole other realms that exist within the the mirror! Believe me when I say I will pause and peer a little bit deeper into any mirror I use from now on!
Another fantastic adventure with Ludo Carstairs! I absolutely love the characters that F.R. Jameson creates, especially Ludo with his amiable arrogance. This book was full of action that kept the pages flying. Also, the Russians had bears!!! I love the balance of humor in the story, and the little bits of scifi-fantasy elements. It’s truly a perfect balance for a fun paranormal mystery thriller! Definitely looking forward to book 3.
