What started over a century ago has come to fruition, and somehow, two lives from opposite sides of the same conflict discover they’re fated for each other. Did the fates get it right?
Everett Fabré was thrust into a life not of his own choosing when his entire family and the majority of his pack were killed during a tragical attack on their ship during the Civil War. One of only a few survivors, he and the others set out to continue on his pack’s mission: help those in need. When fate decided to intervene and he finds himself an enforcer in the newly formed Paranormal Council, never did he expect to scent his mate during a mission.
Jennings Williams’s birth pack…sucks, to put it nicely. They were the type of pack that made other paranormals immensely dislike wolf shifters. As the oldest and only unmated of his siblings, he decided it was time for a change and set out for Timber Valley to accept a position as a teacher in the new school for their shifter children. Finding a new friend in his next-door neighbor was only a bonus. But when his neighbor’s cousin returns from a mission, sparks ignite, and canines are involved.
Everett and Jennings struggle with their bond, and it’s no secret that Everett can be difficult. Will the new couple strengthen their bond in time before it’s lost? When new information is brought to light pertaining to the Evergreen pack and their involvement in the kidnapping ring is discovered, it doesn’t look good for Jennings’s parents. Can Everett be there for his new mate?
Everett is Book Five in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. Each book in this series will focus on a different couple, but these books are not standalones and should be read in order as there is an ongoing backstory that won’t be resolved quickly. This is a fated mate story in an MPreg world, and there will be babies in this story. You should expect all the normal shenanigans, knotting, biting, and remember that sometimes even fated mates need a little help.
I love Taylor Rylan's intersecting stories and characters but Everett and Jennings were not my favorite couple. I just didn't like the dynamic between them, everything felt forced. I called time of death at 49%. Hopefully Benjamin's story will be better.
I think this one is my favorite so far. I was very curious about Everett and he did not disapoint. He was gruffy and an *ss at times and in this book we could finally see another side of him I loved that. Jennings was perfect for him. He didn't take any bullsh*t Everett sent his way. They talked and explained things to each other. No relationship is perfect and we can see that in their story. They took more time than the other couples to really connect and that was more than ok
Another great read by Taylor Rylan. Everett, a wolf shifter, pack beta and is an Enforcer with the Paranormal Council. Jennings, a wolf and Julian’s brother (Julian was adopted, well stolen from his family) who’s Nikolai’s mate (their story was part of the Vampires of the Beloved Gem Series). I always thought that Everett was misunderstood and this book showed that, he’s a complete softy where his mate is concerned. Even though Jennings and Everett are fated mates, it doesn’t mean that everything is smooth sailing for them.
They need time to together so they can strengthen their bond but with Jennings new job, Everett’s work on the Council and Everett’s cousin Alexander constantly hanging around it’s not easy. I really didn’t like how Justin was towards Everett during this book. I really don’t understand why considering Everett was his beta and like a brother for over a century. Yes, supposedly Everett has feelings for Matteo (Justin’s mate), but they were already mated when Everett met Matteo so nothing ever happened between them.
Justin’s okay with Benjamin who had a s*xual relationship with Matteo, so why? Justin’s also angry about Jennings spending time with Matteo for some reason. Matteo’s pregnant again and he suffered from severe morning sickness with their first that he couldn’t feed from Justin and nearly died. Justin’s also annoyed that Jennings isn’t sick like Matteo. Yes, Justin is worried his mate but he doesn’t need to take it out on Everett. I’m really glad that Matteo called him on his sh*t and told him that he was being an a*sehole.
Wow, I can’t believe that Jennings parents (Julian’s adoptive parents) received money for adopting Julian. After the Council investigated further into the families that adopted stolen kids, they all a lump sum, and then regular payments until the children turned 20 years old. For some reason Jennings and Julian’s parents received nearly double the amount. It came out that they got more money as they included Jennings in that figure. I’m totally with Jennings on that their punishment wasn’t harsh enough. I thought Jennings and Everett were great together, and their chemistry was off the charts.
I loved how Julian’s biological parents, his alpha father being the created bobcat shifter brought Jennings into their fold, and consider Jennings one of theirs as he’s their child’s adopted brother. Man, there was so many adorable babies during this book. I’ve already pre-ordered Benjamin’s book and I’m looking forward to reading it when it’s released. I’m hoping that his isn’t the last book, or theirs another spin-off as I’m really wanting Ramsey, Raiden’s, Damien’s, Luc’s brother Knox’s and Alexander, Everett’s cousin’s happily ever afters as well. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Everette and Jennings story just proves once again that just because you are fated mates does not mean that you don’t have to work at your relationship. I’ve never been a fan of Everette, but he does have some redeeming qualities when it comes to Jennings. The underlaying story arc is getting more interesting. I cannot wait to see what happens there and I am hoping to see more of Damien, Raiden, and the others. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Everett by Taylor Rylan is the 5th book in her Paranormal Council Enforcers series. I would advise you to read the previous books in the series because their characters and story lines are intertwined and continuing in this one. Everett is a Council Enforcer and is looking into stolen children who were smuggled and placed for adoption in one of the packs in St. Louis. While he is there, he smells his fated mate, Jennings, who has left for Timber Valley to become a teacher there. He finishes his mission, much to the chagrin of his council mates who thought he should leave immediately, and then goes home and finds Jennings. The story continues as they claim each other and then start the process of bonding and getting to know their likes, dislikes, and what their lives have been like, which for both of them, especially Jennings, was often not very nice. There are some struggles along the way but as fated mates their love endures and also includes a baby. Everett can be somewhat difficult and Jennings has ideas about what he wants but is sometimes unsure. There are also some problems with Jennings’ family being involved with the stolen children, and with a mission gone wrong and the worries that this causes. I absolutely love this series. Ms. Rylan’s world of paranormals is so unique and contains the created ones of warlocks, vampires, and shifters who are trying to make sure that each group is aboveboard and honest in their dealings and finding those that are not and doing something about them through the continuing story line. I like all the kinds of paranormals that live in the area and that each story features different ones and how they come to love each other. Everett’s and Jennings’ contain their own brand of angst and humor as well having characters introduced in previous ones that help, and sometimes hinder them along the way. I always enjoy reading about what has happened to those characters in the time since they had their own book so it is nice to revisit their lives and see how they interact with the main ones0. I also like the mystery of the continuing plot line and the slowly revealed clues as to what has happened and what they are going to do next. And the love scenes are very hot and add to the direction the story is headed. I highly recommend this series and this book and am looking forward to reading the next one to see what happens in the future.
This was the book I least liked in the series, and of all the series in the created universe, this is the second worst, second only to Canyon's Choice.
I have no sympathy for this couple, they definitely deserve each other. Jennings, a pain in the ass, indecisive, personalityless, ungrateful, annoying. Everett, hypocritical, insufferable, eternally rancid.
This series has many inconsistencies and this book has one that I thought only served to create more dislike for the character, Everett, his passion for Matteo and then for Garic, which was addressed in the previous book and here was tried to turn into just a misunderstanding . Also in the previous book, Justin is the one who calls Everett to talk and not the other way around as mentioned here. Justin was angry and went after Everett, angrily. In this book, Everett says that he was the one who insisted on talking to Justin, he was the one who went after him to resolve it.
Another thing is in relation to the time that couples spend together at the beginning to strengthen the bond, in other words have sex, in many books in the universe this is not discussed like this, as if couples needed to be isolated having sex and getting to know each other. In this book, Alexander was treated as an intruder by the main pair, when from the beginning he tried to help.
Everett, is that character that you either hate or hate. The way he was dismissive of Alexander and his need for companionship was the height of it. His only "care" for his cousin is to prevent him from interacting with other Alphas. When in fact he doesn't care about his cousin and doesn't like it when he looks for him, often irritating his cousin so that he stays away. Ridiculous.
I only finished this book, as well as Canyon's Choice, to follow the events of the series, but it took me much longer and I read Benjamin and Raiden first.
I would much prefer a book by Knox, Luc's brother, than this one by Everett, but what can I do?
**Alpha, sexist finds his partner in an Omega, unbearable, they get into a relationship, they don't get into a relationship, they finally get into a relationship, they get pregnant, boring drama, shooting, more boring drama, baby is born and the end.
Okay, I’ll admit, after Atticus my favourite character in this series has been Everett. I always got the feeling that he was quite misunderstood and that because of that (and people judging him harshly for things they possibly didn’t quite understand) he became pricklier and pricklier. No matter what I always just felt he was truly a sweet guy. This book absolutely proves I was right and I feel smugly vindicated haha. Everett was a total sweetheart and I’m glad that despite his mating not necessarily going smoothly 100% of the time, he had a mate willing to listen to others and see that Everett wasn’t always to blame. Jennings was a cutie, if occasionally a bit frustrating. He had the best of intentions and I think was just thrown with everything in his life changing so abruptly; what mattered was his belief and support of his mate who really needed someone in his corner. I do admit, Justin has really tarnished himself with his actions. I expected better of him and honestly, no matter how possessive you are of your mate, acting the way he did with Everett made me frankly dislike him. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a good person in general but I just can’t say that I like him. Everett deserves better and I’m glad he’s now got so many people around him who see what a great guy he is. I’m looking forward to the next book and I’m really glad we’re getting to see more of Raiden, Ramsey, Benjamin and Damien. I love them as characters (I really hope we get their books) and they way they interact with others is really fun/sweet (depending on the circumstances) to see.
Their mating got off to a rocky start and once they realised why, they tried to deal with it but I felt much of it was more to do with the insecurities that Jennings had rather than his initial friendship with Alexander, who was pretty much snubbed by them both, but particularly his cousin, Everett. He even referred to his family, but they were all on Jennings's side through Julian and no mention of Alexander, his actual blood relative.
I'd have liked to have read/known why Jennings experienced no pain in childbirth from Constantine.
The conflict between Everett and Justin in the last book continues, but neither really addresses it here, and it doesn't add value to this book, but suddenly, it's resolved with Justin apologising for being an ass by text!
Enjoyable but insufficient detail regarding the Evergreen pack/Alpha Adam and the justice meted out to Julian's "adoptive" parents was rather compassionate given their crime! The sisters really need to take a leap off Treasure Mountain.
Why was Ellie upset/so keen to talk to/question Jennings... friendship/curiosity?
I look forward to finally finding out what the mysterious presence on the mountain is.
I wonder what Canyon has in store for Alexander?!
Sadly, there are still plenty of unmated enforcers, but the series is coming to an end.
I'll admit I skipped through most of this book and portions of Garic, I'm hoping Benjamin 's to include council as well as romance.
Personally this book fell flat for me because your first 20 years your parents are crap, but no abuse...well none was mentioned, but you are now over 123 years old and still blaming your parents for insecurities of not being enough and loved when your brother and his partner show you love and consideryou family for over 100 years? Nope, don't see it.
The other books contained more about the council, this one, Everett gets shot and we get barely get any information. :(
It felt this book was just to continue the series but no real effort was put in, for instance, thr cousin Alexander is all over them as a newly mated couple but seems to have disappeared once they get pregnant, which is a third through the book and you hear no more about him, even after the baby is born.
Personally I would have loved for them to be involved with the parents' sentencing to spice the book up, but oh well. If you are reading through the series you miss nor gain anything with this book.
This one was a bit weird for me. I had felt bad for Everett in previous books for wanting the wrong people and being sad about his mate situation, along with his tragic past and his strained relationship with his alpha. It's a lot for one guy to deal with. Then he scents his mate while on a mission and has to wait to get to them? I would have lost my mind with impatience. I think Everett conducted himself just fine when it came to Jennings (which I think is a stupid name but whatever, I blame his horrible parents). Could Everett be an asshole? Of course. But, honestly, I really didn't see that big of a difference between Garic and Everett or even Reinhold and Everett. It's like the author just recycled the Alpha MC for each of these books and added just a bit of personality to make them seem different. We also get another instant baby and now I honestly can't tell which babies go with which couple; there are way too many characters in here and way too many kids under 5. At least in this one we get some action with the Nasty Pack in St. Louis. Overall I enjoyed this one and I'm going to continue on to Benjamin in the hopes that this one may be a little bit more interesting.

This book, while still full of heart that is to be expected from Taylor’s writings of paranormals finding their fated mates, is much more about the building of a relationship. They are fated mates but things do not come easy for them. This has been more the norm for the MCs in this particular series but Jennings and Everett seem to suffer more than the previous ones. Poor Everett’s behaviour and actions in previous books comes back to bite him in this one which his mate finds difficult to swallow; and Jennings who has wanted to find his fated mate for years and years seems to now not make him the priority he should be and their bond ultimately suffers in the beginning. It definitely took me back to Honey Creek where Sam and Ivan’s bond was discussed. This book is not as steamy as Taylor’s previous offerings but depicts more of a real life couple who meet and know they are destined to be together but encounter stumbling blocks as they attempt to merge 2 separate, VERY different lives and eventually find their own rhythm. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Overall, this one was enjoyable. Everett wasn’t nearly the jerk he was made out to be in previous books and Jennings was a sweetheart. The plot was odd though…little things that could have been easily avoided were used as ploys. For example, Everett’s cousin, who had befriended Jennings was almost vilified for coming over to see his friend…it was used as s reason for the mating bond between Everett an end Jennings to not solidify right away. Dude, he’s a doctor for shifters, he is probably knowledgeable about shifting bonds and if not, he is your friend and cousin, just communicate. There was also a lot going on with Jennings bio parents whom he was estranged from so it didn’t really make a difference beyond reiterating that they were terrible. Also, the ending was super abrupt and just weird. I know this sounds like I didn’t like, which is incorrect, I did. It just was not great writing. This is a very uneven series but this entry was saved by the sweetness of Jennings and the supportiveness of Everett.
Everett is the fifth book in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. There’s a lot of crossovers with previous characters so you’ll want to read them in order. I have been waiting for Jennings’s book for so long and was so happy when we finally got his story. And Everett was perfect for him. Everett seemed like a prickly person until we got to know him, he’s just a little misunderstood. He’s been working all his life to help find missing people and when he’s in St. Louis, he scents his mate only for them to have already be living in Timber Valley. Jennings is starting over as a new teacher in Timber Valley, he has a new friend who happens to be Everett’s cousin. They will have a few issues along the way, but their HEA will be well deserved. I honestly loved everything about this story! We get more babies, give me all the babies!! Overall, a fantastic addition to the series and I cannot wait for more! Well written with addicting pacing. Highly recommend.
29 books in and I'm committed. This paranormal universe is amazing and inspiring... be aware that at this point in the series, you need to have the background to understand what's going on. Taylor Rylan keeps allowing the characters to speak to her, confront their struggles which resolve over time, and then bring in new characters to move the story along. I love that each book is not an endless repeat of previous stories. The stories are important because the worlds of Honey Creek, Timber Lake, the Amherst Coven, the Emerald Gem Casino, and the Paranormal Council keep intersecting, making the stories that much more interesting. Everett and Jennings are not prepared for their fated pairing, and they have to work hard to unify their lives. But it's their love for one another that helps them grow into their union. Along the way, new mysteries are revealed, and new connections are made. Enjoy your time with these two... we haven't seen the last of them yet!
This is a paranormal romance, fifth book in the fifth interconnected series. I have loved these series because there’s an ongoing story that weaves the series together but this one was rather boring. There was too many descriptions of minutiae of every day process like washing hands: turning on water, squirting soap on hands, rubbing hands together, then rinsing hands in warm water and reaching for a towel, then drying hands. When there’s a whole book of all the minute by minutes descriptions and yet then only referencing off-book conversations, it just ends up rather boring. It’s the first time that I’ve felt that the series would have been better skipping a book entirely. It’s hard for me to share my honest opinion here because I love so much if this authors work.
Everett and Jennings are fated mates but that doesn’t mean that they are without their struggles on the way to their HEA. They need alone time to strengthen their bond but it’s just not happening. Steamy moments are not a problem but the deeper bond connection is lacking a bit. Everett is working on changing his past behaviour and Jennings is going back and forth re his teaching commitments and family togetherness but communication and the longed for alone time bring them as close together as fated mates should be.
The overall story arc continues which keeps things interesting and so many couples are adding to their families. This is another enjoyable and easy read in the series but it shouldn’t be read as a standalone.

Each time I read a new story in Taylor Rylan’s Paranormal Enforcers series I think that it’s the best one yet! How can it get better? Take a character that you really didn’t like in previous stories and show a wonderfully warm and loving side to them as they find their HEA! Everett and Jennings may be fated mates but they have to work for their happy ending. This story has lots of feels that I have come to expect from this author. The character and world building are amazing and leave you wanting more! stories in this series! This review is an honest and unbiased reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy of the book.
Ev has gotten a bad rap.. because he was fixated on Matteo despite knowing that Matteo was mated to Jordan ... once he discovers his mayr, everyone expected him to do things a certain way. But Everett is his own person and does things his own way.
Jennings has always looked forward to finding his mate, but after moving to a new town to be a teacher he never thought his fated mate would be his new neighbor's cousin.
Things are about to be crazy for Jennings and Ev but they just need a little time to discover just what their mate needs.
Great story and I can’t wait for Benjamin's story!
An extremely well written story! There was a lot packed into this one but not in a distracting way. These two had to through quite a bit to reach their HEA! I truly enjoyed how many characters from the other books/series were in this one. Once again, that didn't detract but enhanced everything and it's always nice to see old friends. It was also nice that we got to hear Everett's viewpoint on issues that occurred in the previous book. Taylor Rylan is no longer a one-click for me but rather an immediate pre-order because I know they'll be absolutely worth it!
YES finally Everett got his HEA with the lovely Jennings... Oh my heart these two sure know how to keep you on your toes but Agh they are so good together.
Everett is an Enforcer with the Paranormal Council and can be let's say difficult but when he senses his mate he definitely puts his all into it, I loved the change with him and how he was with Jennings.
Jennings is just adorable and I love his feisty side, he doesn't let Everett get away with anything. Taylor has done a beautiful job with telling their story, I had a hard time even putting the book down when needed. Ha! I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I’ve been waiting for this book to come out. It’s the next book in Taylor Rylan’s Paranormal Council Enforcer Series. This is Everett’s book who’s fated mate is Jennings. I absolutely loved Jennings. He had to get over some of his insecurities especially with Jennings family history. Everett was patient with Jennings while they started to form their bond and Jennings went through his insecurities. But they were able to work through everything. Absolutely loved the book.
You scented your fated. Now you have to go find him!
Can this series get any better? Each book seems to outdo the last. This story features enforcer Everett and his fated, Jennings. This world is vibrant and alive; unique with the Created ones... the first paranormal creatures of their kind. It is vividly detailed so you can easily visualize everything. There is angst, danger, and a bit of baggage. There is also understanding, family, and lots of sexy times. Join Everett and Jennings on the road to HEA. You will definitely love this book!
So, Everett is one of those characters that you dislike so much only to find out that he is not as bad as you first thought. Jennings is absolutely adorable and is steadfastly supporting his brother. Everett and Jennings have a battle to get their HEA but it is one that they refuse to give up on. I really enjoyed seeing more sides of recurring characters as well as side eyeing secondary characters on who will get their story next.
Taylor Rylan has made another story that I couldn't help but love. I am so happy that both Everett and Jennings got their happy ending. I just love these two! I know that Everett was a character that I was sure I would like but Jennings is definitely the perfect mate for him. Yes their relationship started off as rough. So it just make their happy ending even better. I can't wait for more in this world. I absolutely love this world that has been created!
This is the fifth Book i the Paranormal Council Enforcer's Book Series.
Another fantastic read from this Author I'm in love with all of the couples and their adorable babies . Everett and Jennings story was cute and I enjoyed it . Looking forward to Benjamin finding his one I hope it's the little fox that lives with the Vampires . Or Ev's cousin although I don't think so but you never know .
Everett has been waiting for his mate even almost falling in love on the way. My heart hurts for Everett with everything he goes through before he finally gets his happy ending with Jennings. Everett & Jennings are absolutely wonderful together, taylor is amazing and always know whose meant to be. She always seems to know exactly what her characters wants and gives it to them. I can’t wait to see whose talking to her next. 😀❤️
I’m so happy that Everett finally got his mate. Although his and Jennings mating didn’t get off to the best start I’m glad they finally got it all worked out. I loved Everett and glad everyone finally saw him for the great man he is. I love the enforcers series and can’t wait to some more of the amazing characters get their mates.
Council Enforcers has been the best of Rylan's series since the Warlock's of Amherst. This book gives us two wolf shifter Fated Mates. And even fated ones need to communicate and spend time allowing their bond to build. Life gets in the way, but with helpful friends and found family, the pair get it right and earn their HEA. A good solid, enjoyable story.
I think Jennings and Everett's relationship took more effort to establish their relationship than the previous ones. I enjoyed their story and I agree with one of the other reviewers. Everett was misunderstood and often hurt at how he was treated. I was glad to see them happy. Recommend reading.
