"If I can move a reader, I am honoured. If those words I string together resonate with the reader in some way, I am thrilled. But if one reader out of a thousand experiences an actual nightmare because of what I wrote, then I will know that I've done my job right, and you may consider me ecstatic."

It is often said that “absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Indeed, this idea has been observed throughout history, from dictators and authoritarian regimes to corrupt leaders and politicians. When someone is given absolute power, they may begin to believe that they are above the law and their actions are not subject to any scrutiny or consequence.

Do you believe this to be the case?

Many would argue that this is not the truth at all. Believing instead in people’s inherent “goodness” to utilize such power for the purpose of helping others.

In Ken Stark’s novel, Miracle Man, we are presented with a story that thoroughly explores these concepts in a truly horrifying fashion. Buckle up and brace yourself for a chilling descent into the murky depths of the human psyche, where the shadows of the mind lurk and the unknown await!

Miracle Man tells the story of Milton Fisk, a modest librarian who harbors an enduring affection for his best friend’s sister, Debra. Despite his mild and unassuming nature, Milton uncovers an incredible power that sets him on a one-way path toward becoming the most powerful man on Earth. His love and affection for Debra manage to keep him grounded until greed and rejection derail Milton, causing him to transform into Elijah Zion, a man consumed by his quest for domination.

Even though Kings and Presidents bow before him, Elijah is not content with his immense power. He despises the only other person in history to wield similar abilities and will stop at nothing to destroy the old gods and be hailed as the one true ruler of the world.

Will he ever be able to find Milton again and enjoy the peaceful and loving life he once craved? Or is he too far gone as the stage becomes set for a final and horrific conflict?

I am no stranger to the work of author Ken Stark. This is the 4th book I have read and reviewed by the author. I have loved all of his work, and this novel is no exception. In fact, it stands out as my favorite!

Miracle Man is a chilling and thought-provoking horror novel that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the reader. Stark’s masterful prose seemingly flows with ease, evoking a sense of fear and dread with every turn of the page. The elements of horror are expertly woven into the story, building tension and suspense until a shocking climax that will ultimately leave readers reeling.

Stark definitely does not hold back in this work. There are many very dark themes that are explored in graphic and shocking detail. For instance, the themes of power, morality, and the dangers of obsession are presented in an insightful and terrifying way. In particular, the novel’s exploration of faith and the role of humanity in the face of god-like power, left me in awe as I became thoroughly engrossed from start to finish.

While there are many characters in the novel, this is definitely Milton Fisk’s show! The reader will be mesmerized while watching the descent of Milton from a humble and virtuous man to a god-like being worshipped by billions. Each step of his journey toward ultimate power pushes him further away from his humanity. From a thoroughly likable character to a depraved maniac. The stark contrast between Fisk's former self and his current persona as Elijah Zion, Miracle Man, is both fascinating and disturbing. This transformative journey is certain to leave a serious imprint in the mind of the reader!

Miracle Man is a top-notch story that will captivate the reading audience from beginning to end. It is a must-read for anyone interested in exploring the darker aspects of human nature and the seductive allure of ultimate power.

There are very graphic and gory scenes and the author specifically warns that his book is not for devout Christians. So consider yourself warned!

Who would have ever thought a pure and wholesome love would awaken something so vile and hideous? Milton Fisk was a kind, plain librarian at the library down the street who's had a crush on his best friend's sister, Debra, for years. All he ever wanted was to live by Debra's side, doing the most mundane things and loving her forever. But things changed when one day, he stumbled upon an incredible power that he knew not the origin of. After that, everything seems to be going fine until one bad decision after another, greed and rejection later. Suddenly the plain librarian down the street was no more. Now he wants to make the world forget about the powerful man from Nazarene and put into action his plan for a new world. He's willing to go to any length to accomplish his goals, whatever it takes.

Miracle Man by Ken Stark is a dark fantasy horror novel revolving around a man who came to wield such incredible power the world had only read about in books. Milton Fisk, his longtime sweetheart, Debra, and his best friend, Frank, were unsure what to do about this great power. Until Frank came up with a brilliant idea to utilize this newfound power to earn them a fortune. Milton's love and devotion for Debra kept him on the right track, not losing sight of his true self amidst attention and money. However, one bad conversation later and Milton slowly began to slip away.

Author Ken Stark has written a gut-wrenching horror fiction story. Miracle Man had me on a roller coaster of emotions. At first, it was all roses and sunshine, and then the light switched, and everything became darker, appalling…yet intriguing. The character development of Milton, now Elijah Zion, is intense and mindblowing. Readers can follow the protagonist's vile thought process and still be shocked and horrified. The change and progression in this character will keep readers on edge and glued to the pages as his devious plot unfolds and mere humans are left to try and stop him.

Miracle Man is a gripping horror novel that takes readers into a spiritual battle that will alter human existence. Ken Stark has written characters that readers will love and hate, but one thing is for sure, they will not forget them. This work of art was unapologetically flawless. Therefore, I recommend this book to dark fantasy and horror-loving readers. The author holds nothing back, and the book contains graphic sexual violence and gory scenes that are intended for mature readers.

The unsettling transformation of Milton, the protagonist, felt like a slow burn, a creeping dread that settled deep in my bones. I found myself both repulsed and fascinated by his descent, constantly questioning my own capacity for darkness. Stark's prose isn't just descriptive; it's visceral. He doesn't shy away from the unsettling realities of human nature, instead, he delves into them with a brutal honesty that left me shaken. This book isn't for the faint of heart, but for those who dare to look into the abyss, *Miracle Man* offers a terrifyingly compelling reflection.

Horror Deliciousness!

This is the (fourth?) book I’ve read from author, Ken Stark and if true horror is what you’re after, he NEVER disappoints! Although Miracle Man: The Rise of an Anti-Christ will surely satiate your primal horror-read-needs, it will also leave you wanting to download and read ALL of Stark’s solidly crafted, gory masterpieces. Bravo! Five huge stars.
