Some secrets should be carried to the grave…

For magical mom Zoe Clarke, everything is perfect. Her paranormal twins have started school, she’s back at work part-time, and for the first time in five years there isn’t a single piece of bad news for her to report at the Moon Grove Messenger.

But when an unsigned pamphlet exposing the dirty laundry of Moon Grove’s elite begins circulating and a prominent warlock is later found dead with a copy stuffed in his mouth, Zoe must unmask the author before their anonymous accusations tear Moon Grove apart.

Between the pseudonymous suspect and the growing discontent among the paranormal population, Zoe knows she has to get in on the secret — especially when the pamphlet begins calling for violent revolution.

Will Zoe stop the scribe? Or will word of mouth — and the killer — run riot?

Sorcery and Secrecy is the eleventh book in the Magic and Mystery series of witch cozy mysteries. If you like supernatural secrets, revolutionary rabblerousers, and magical murder mysteries, then you’ll love this lighthearted eleventh entry in Lily Webb’s spellbinding series.

“Sorcery and Secrets” the 11th instalment in the Magic and a Mystery series by Lily Webb. If you like supernatural secrets, revolutionary rabblerousers, and magical murder mysteries, then you’ll love this series.

Some secrets should be carried to the grave…

I loved this instalment, Zoe is back at work and the twins Blaize and Ellie are at school but the struggle is real. Touches on bullying in the classroom, politicians not keeping their promises but what was his secrets…

Every instalment is better than the last! Like I have said many times before Lily is very talented in her descriptive writing and because of this your pulled into the story right away. I read in about 3 hours, as it was that good .

There were plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing on who the culprit is. Overall this was a great paranormal cozy and I hope there will be plenty more to come.

I highly recommend this series to all my friends.

After stepping down from the head witch position, Zoe finds herself asked to investigate when a new publication points the finger at the new head witch. Who is the snitch? Love the series and this book was a great read!.

This is book eleven of the Magic & Mystery series and the main character is Zoe Clarke, the former Head Witch of Moon Grove, a mixed paranormal community and still a reporter at the Messenger. She retired from her position as Head Witch after a very dangerous period battling rogue warlocks who wanted to split the paranormal community and having her twins, Blaise and Ellie, with her shifter husband Beau, made her want to do something less dangerous so her kids didn’t lose a parent! Recent elections for the post of Head Warlock have seen her successor Heath, replaced by the wealthy business owner Paxton Rathmore, whose family have been making robes for witches and warlocks for centuries. Zoe’s twins are getting settled at the school for paranormals in town and Zoe prepares to go to work at the Moon Grove Messenger, the local paper. She gets a call from the former Head Warlock, Heath, asking her to investigate a new and unsigned pamphlet that has been distributed around town, which contains certain allegations about the current Head Warlock, Paxton. Her boss Mitch, sends her and Jaina Thornton, a correspondent for Le Creux Lantern in Georgia, to go and interview Paxton. He has been refusing all calls for interviews from Jaina and Mitch himself.
When they reach the town hall, they have to get past the gargoyles who act as security in the town and one right outside Paxton’s office as well. On entering, his secretary is all worked up and on entering his inner office, they find him dead! One of these unsigned pamphlets is found stuffed in his mouth by the local police officers, Mueller and Barratt. The pamphlet is by someone calling themselves ‘The Snitch’ and cast doubts on the recent election and some undue influence placed on influential voters. Mitch has sent Zoe to investigate, hoping her telepathic powers could get her to find out the truth about what really happened in the elections, but now she has something much more serious to investigate. Beau doesn’t like her placing herself into the middle of a possibly dangerous investigation, but it is what she is really good at. All he can do is ask her to be careful and help with the kids, as well as her gran, who looks after them while they both work. Zoe had hoped that the Head Warlock would continue the inclusive agenda she and Heath had started for paranormals in Moon Grove, after all the problems she dealt with years ago. But all these accusations are stirring up trouble in the community and calling for violent revolution! Zoe doesn’t know if she can trust Jaina, who is another who can shield their thoughts from her, as could Paxton. For now, she has to work with her to find and stop the Snitch before something more deadly is written and spread around town, and also find out how Paxton died!
Add to this some teething problems for her son Blaise at school, with his former best friend Cade, and she feels a bit hopeless as a parent. She gave up the demanding role as Head Witch to spend more time with the kids, and now they have started school, that has been reduced. Jaina has some secrets of her own that don’t get revealed until the end, which give good reason as to why she is in town and wanted in on this story. Paxton’s brother Dante is also somehow mixed up I everything, as with his older brother becoming Head Warlock, he thought he would take over the family business. It seems Paxton was not very good at keeping promises and has a few people who dislike him, including his reluctant wife Sierra. Angry mobs start causing problems by the town hall and if they don’t find out the truth soon, matters will escalate. A story with magic, family life and the issues of raising a shifter child as well as a magical one, dangerous investigations and the purity of children’s hearts at the end. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Zoe and Beau have returned to work now that the twins are in school during the day although Zoe finds it strange being away from them during the day. Zoe has long since retired from her position as Head Witch but it seems she cannot quite escape politics as easily as that. A new scandal in town involving the recent election of a new Head Warlock has her drawn back into the thick of things. Beau is worried when Zoe agrees to help as he’s covering the story he says it has a feel of danger to it. Turns out his intuition is correct because the warlock in question turns up dead the next morning. The investigation has many surprising twists and along the way Zoe finds herself actually liking her coworker/rival Jaina. And in the end Zoe is part of the resolution of another mystery in Moon Grove this time it might also be the beginnings of something new and exciting for her.
Full of paranormal mysteries along with its residents Moon Grove is an enjoyable and exciting place to visit. Never a dull moment for Zoe or the reader!.

as a working mom, Zoe has been lucky to have the support if her Grandmother for help around the house and childcare.

Her twins are very connected, yet they have different needs as Blaise begins to show his shifter traits, and his sister Ellie clearly has more witchly talents.

Life as a reporter for the Messenger has been mostly less harrowing than her role as Head Witch. Things seem to be getting exciting now - and more dangerous

Several members of a prominent family have been reported deceased by an upstart news publication that seems determined to encourage unrest.

Can Zoe help resolve the cases, keep herself and her family safe, and deal with mom issues for a growing shifter ?

Prejudices and power plays make things more challenging as things seem to be changing for Zoe once again.

Sorcery & Secrets is book #11 in Lily Webb's Magic & Mystery series. I haven't read the previous books, but they are most certainly on my list to read in the beginning of 2023!

Cozy mysteries is one of my absolute favorite genres and I've been recommending this to my friends who also enjoy the genre and to people on Goodreads that ask for recs.

Though this installment is later on in the series, I didn't find it hard to keep things straight. I adore Zoe and was excited to see that her husband is a shifter (shifter books are my guilty pleasure)! Add in their cute twins and I couldn't put the book down. Jaina was a bit annoying, but she grew on me.

Webb's writing is descriptive, witty, and makes you want to keep reading and then read all over again.

I hope a new installment is out before I reach this book again down the road :)

I requested a review copy of this book from Booksprout in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lily Webb is the excellent para cozey mystery writer that has written this series with witchy and all sorts of other paranormal characters bringing them to life with every day issues such as excepting each other for who we are, not what we are. While also bringing intrigue, mystery, mayhem and murder into the who done it world of her para cozeys. I was up way past my bedtime reading unable to put this mystery down because the plot carried me through enchanted and captivated me from the first chapter .I enjoyed it emencely and suggest that if you enjoy para cozey mystery murders with a flourish of mayhem in paranormal small towns then acquire "Sorcery and Secrets " for a magically intriguing and enjoyable bit of entertainment. Oh how time flies! I love that we are back visiting Zoe now that the twins are at school and she has returned to work with the Moon Grove Messenger.
When an anonymous note is delivered around town sharing people's secrets, which leads to the death of a warlock. Zoe must investigate before the people of Moon Grove are called to arms and use violence against one another.
Can Zoe unmask the anonymous rebel?

I loved visiting back to Moon Grove. I have missed this series and am glad Lily Webb has gone back to see how Zoe and her family have grown in the time since the last book.
Highly recommend this book and though you can choose to read it as a stand alone, I would say that it is better read as part of the Moon Grove Series.

Zoe is so happy that for the 1st time in a long time everything is going well. Zoe comes from a long line of magical family members. She has magical powers and her twins has paranormal and going to school for the 1st time. So Zoe can go back to work part time. She is so thrill with life right now, and since everything is going well she has nothing to report to the Moon Grove messenger.
Until a pamphlet appear telling everyone dirty laundry, can she figure out wrote it. Before she can figure the author out, a warlock is found dead with the pamphlet in his mouth. Can she figure out who killed him before the riot gets out of control.

Zoe and Jaina are a good team. I was annoyed with Jaina like Zoe was at the beginning, but as Zoe came around, so did it. They were forced to work together, but it was a good fit with their different (paranormal) skills. They needed each other because neither could have solved the mystery on their own. They both rushed head-long into danger but it all worked out in the end. I'm looking forward to seeing their friendship and business venture evolve. I hope for more magical hijinx next time! This is part of a series, but I had no problem falling into the mystery without the backstory.

Zoe Clarke is back and in investigative mode when an unsigned pamphlet exposing Moon Grove's dirty laundry is circulated. There's a lot going on in this book and this author really knows how to take the reader along on a great mystery. I loved getting to catch up with all the quirky characters in Moon Grove and getting to meet new ones too. The writing is well done, the characters are well developed, and the story is packed with intrigue, mystery, suspense, magic, and so much more. Sorcery and Secrets is book eleven and a great addition to the Magic & Mystery series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

A mystery is afoot. Zoe is now reporting after giving up her Head Witch position. The new Head Warlock is being of accused of various indiscretions. Who is snitching on him and why? Sierra and Paxton have secrets. A new character is introduced who seems to be a perfect compliment to Zoe. Enjoyed visiting these characters again. Love the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Book sprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Amid trouble at school which ends well with the true culprit revealed for it, a mysterious murder is discovered. Zoe is assigned to take care of it especially after discovering the murder. Past secrets are revealed and unsavory business practices as well. Paranormal powers make the case interesting and a bit dangerous to solve but Zoe does with some help.

Succubus To Be You

It was great to be back in Moon Grove again visiting my with old character friends.

The twins are no longer babies and have distinct personalities. Grandma is a still around knitting and let's not forget Luna the talking çat.

If you are a fan of this series this book is a must to catch up with Zoe and her crew.
