My Brother's Best Friends

Rate this book
They claim I’m the one thing they can’t have, and the only thing they’ve ever wanted .

They’re also the ones that took my v-card and ran me out of town.

Coming back to Lunar, New Mexico was a nightmare.
I had no choice after my life had gone up in flames.
Between finding out that my boyfriend had a wife and getting fired from my job, I had little desire to think about hot men.
But my brother’s plan to take me to our ten-year high school reunion delivered just that.

I always had a crush on them—the three delicious men I’d handed my innocence to.

August, the bad boy covered in tattoos, fried my brain.
Charlie, the sports star and all-American hero, had dimples to die for.
And Theo with his ripped muscles and a gorgeous face was a walking, talking wet dream.

The craziest part about them? They had gotten better with age.
The craziest part about me? I was no longer as innocent as I used to be.
And to top it off, my high school rival was now Theo’s ex-wife.

I’d had enough men cause me trouble,
to know that trouble was exactly what they would bring.
It was only a matter of a few “Lunar Eclipse” cocktails before the inevitable would happen.
They ruined my life once, was I ready to let them do it again? Hell yes.

it could have been amazing…

DNF at 48%
This book has a great storyline. Amazing chemistry between the men with Reagan. This could have been amazing IF she had a BACKBONE. The guys were awful to her and then when she finally let it out to them what they did to her they gaslit her and turned it on her. Telling her that they aren’t apologizing for the way things happened and then SHE apologized for her getting upset. ABSOLUTELY NO GROVELING. She was so d!ckmat!zed that she was a spineless doormat. Theo was the worst because of who he married and then REFUSED to apologize just because he got his daughter. He talked himself into thinking that an apology for what he did would say he regrets his kid. It’s gross and I had to stop reading once she told him to take her to bed. Sex scenes were amazing but I couldn’t overlook the gross way the FMC couldn’t demand an apology from either of them.

Don't waste your time

*spoilers!*

Reagan has zero self respect and the lowest self esteem of any character I've ever read. It took her 2.5 seconds to be salivating over the guys her were partially responsible for ruining her life and forcing her to leave the town she grew up in. They were too afraid to lose their friend so they allowed vicious things to be said about her, even allowing her brother to talk down to her. (I know they told him to stop but come on.) I've only DNF'd like 5 books my whole life and this one was close to being number 6. I seriously skimmed the last 45% of the book.

4.7 stars.
I absolutely love the humor that this author infuses in her books.
This was so funny and cute and absolutely heartwarming.
I’ve also really enjoyed the way she writes the relationships in her books.
I like that it wasn’t an argument for them to share their girl. That they just acknowledge that it was weird, that they’ve never felt like this before, that they could only ever share her and only between themselves and then they get back to focusing on her. It’s my favorite way for this type of book to go.

I also really like the FMCs in her books so far.
Reagan is so funny and clumsy and so unafraid to share her desires with her guys. It was hot as hell.
Plus we got the angsty emotions of what happened 10 years ago, plus trying to keep all of it a secret from her brother.

It was so good.
I still have a problem with there never being lube involved in the anal scenes, but I’m honestly just over it here, because what Did happen was just too hot to complain about.

I am so glad I found this author’s books.
They’re so good.

3 - 3.5 stars

This was some steamy yumminess! There were some wonky pieces that seemed inconsistent, but overall, it was a good read.

FRTC

Plot --- 3/5
Writing Style --- 3/5
Main Characters --- 2.5/5
Supporting Cast --- 2/5
Steam Level* --- 4.5/5
Violence --- nothing significant or graphic
Triggers --- emotional abuse/self-esteem issues
Language --- some
POV --- 1st (h)

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild (nothing descriptive); 2/5 - 3rd base action/1 home run; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere (a couple of full-on steamy scenes); 4/5 - yes please! (erotica territory); 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

I gave this 2 stars because Reagan was a spineless doormat. She got thrown out of town 10 years ago thanks to the men who are the MCs in this book all because she slept with them back then and they were too cowardly to admit it so she got bullied but as soon as she comes back 10 years later she's all over them. Not only that her twin brother still treats her like a kid and the men are still too cowardly to speak up about being with her because they are her brother's best friends.
I think the ending would have been better if she went back to her ex because at least he had the decency to tell her brother that he loved her unlike the MCs who were still cowardly.
There was no grovelling and no apologies from them and I cringed everytime she went running to them and the icing on the cake is that one of them had married and divorced the girl who bullied her and made her life hell at school and he had a kid with her. So overall this was a disappointing read.

I really enjoy all of this authors book as a brain break when I am reading something heavy. It really is just Hallmark Smut. Same premise, so far, in every book but somehow the dynamics are different in every relationship.

I always know the destination of these stories but the journey to get there is still fresh.

I have to say, this might be my favorite one. I loved the crazy protective brother, the best friend and coolest sister-in-law.

I DNFd.I may be a bit harsh as I truly didn’t get into the book. These three boys ruined her after their prom night together. Let the town gossip bully and harassed her. They disrespected her- the sister of their best friend. 10 years later she’s back and acting like a simpering stuttering teenager and throws herself back into bed with them after the first night. I hate women like this. I wanted her to have some self respect and finally stick up for herself. To say fuck you, you hurt me , and Make them work for her affections. She’s a weak MFC and I’m over it.

Pushover female lead, male lead that married and had a child with the woman who severely bullied the heroine. Hated every character and I wish I could wipe this from my memory.

if she writes it I’ll read it

Every time I get a bunch of arcs I feel drained and I ALWAYS read Rebel Blooms books to get me back into reading.

This book was so good. Can she even write a bad book?? The answer is no!

This book follows Rea, August, Charlie and Theo. The guys are best friends with her twin brother and have been in her life forever. After being bullied and made to look like a fool she moved to LA now she’s back in Lunar and these boys are SEXY MEN

The spice was amazing, the story was amazing and had me kicking and giggling the whole time!

If you are looking for a quick and easy but spicy read then this is the book for you!

It’s brothers best friends, second chance ish, single dad, small town.

It was okay but I had to rate it one star because it just felt very rushed. Not only that but how many times is a guy (GUYS PLURAL) gonna hurt you for you to grow a backbone. It’s just plain out annoying and I’m glad they got a happy ending but I just wish it was written better and not just having to throw in a surprise pregnancy to suddenly erase all the issues they had before.

Plot is okay and it’s an easy read so I recommend it if you want something light and smutty?

I also wish it focused more on Russ’ relationship with his sister because that also felt very surface level, they’re literally twins, it couldn’t have been that hard for him to get over his overprotective nature.

Just writing this has me thinking of more problems, like if they were twins why was it that she got bullied so harshly and her brother watched it happen? But he was so “protective”. If they were twins why was it such a big deal for his three best friends to be with her? Besides the whole that’s my sister thing it wasn’t like she was actually a child to them or she was younger than them? They could’ve easily ran in the same group of friends or been in the same classes or just been in the same social groups. It’s just confusing to me, all these people treated her like crap and it all could’ve been prevented

Buddy Read with CatLady - May 2023

"Do you understand how damning it is for someone to be wanted in the dark and denied in the light?"

I saw another reviewer call this book 'Hallmark Smut', and I have to say, they aren't wrong. Meh characters, unrealistic plot, tropes galore, and a helping of smut combine in this book to give us a RH standalone that, well, exists.

Some of the little ideas were good. I had some smiles, maybe a laugh or two. The spice did tend to feel one-dimensional to me - I didn't get any senses engaged, making it feel a little 'tell, don't show'. There were occasional moments that totally felt like lost opportunities for spicing things up.

"Idiots. Each and every one of you. Except Reagan. She’s just a victim of hormones and hot men. Some things can’t be helped.”

We're all victims here. I don't think Rebel Bloom is the author for me.

omg…? this book had so much potential????? it went downhill when miss girl became a doormat. like what’s the rush babes? suddenly they all got to her in LA and proposed? i expected some grovelling not her just leaping to one of the boys and folded. i literally dnf-ed the last “reconciliation” or the lack thereof idk

the fact that she got bullied so badly that she had to leave the town for a decade because of that shit and she’s back obsessed with the boys, pisses me off. and her tool of a brother too

Just…no. I hate the whole we have to keep the heroine/hero a secret and sneak around because someone else will be mad about it. I hate that for basically the whole book the heroine felt like shit because she was constantly denied having a real relationship that she didn’t have to hide. I hated that she so easily gave into the heroes after what they did and are doing to her. I hated that Theo married the heroine’s bully after she was so mean that she made the heroine leave town. I just did not like it at all.

Hate. Would never read again and would not recommend.

It feels like the writer just had a bunch of ideas and threw them together. None of the characters were likeable except the kids, and I despised how weak the female MC was with the guys. Like no explanation or apology before she’s right back in with them and they acted like dumb teenagers.

There’s an hour I’ll never get back.

I wish this one had more of a grovel from the guys. Also we never did find out how the mean girl found out what happened back in high school, was she just creeping around like is her habit and saw something? Or did someone tell her? This mystery will haunt me till the day I die.

Finally a reverse harem that isn’t centered exclusively around ✨trauma✨ (though there is some past bullying and poor behavior that’s discussed/worked through). It made me laugh multiple times, and had very good spicy scenes.

The spice just hit differently in the book. In a very good way! 🥵 I enjoyed the guys POV and guy chats. Some funny parts I laughed out loud for. ‘I want to go horseback riding’. I’d read this one again. It’s under 300pgs too. I feel like I need more to this story. I was a little sad they didn’t stand up better for her or grovel harder for her. TW: P

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of story there was to go along with the smut. Is this realistic? No. Do I care? No. There is enough character depth to make this fall on the side of plausible.

I do wish there had been a conversation between Reagan and Russ after he found out about the relationships. She deserved an apology from him.

Good escapist fun!

Loved it!
I really enjoyed this book! This was the first book I read by this author and she didn't disappoint. I thought there was some of everything and it gave me all the feels. There was humor, angst and loads of steam!! It was delicious steam too! I really liked Reagan and her guys were drool worthy. I loved the storyline. At first, I thought I knew where things were headed and then things changed again. It kept my attention and I couldn't put it down. Overall, I loved it and look forward to reading more by this author!!

Pretty good but Reagan has no back bone so it brought it down a star! I feel like she forgave them to fast but it’s three hot guys so I can’t fault her to much! Also her relationship with her brother is weird. It was just cringy that he had so much say in a grown woman’s life. Also the 3 MMC are okay being a jerk to her but not her brother? Like they lose their balls when he’s around but don’t mind screwing her behind his back? Ugh yeah again not to sure why she didn’t make them grovel more. Either way it has some pretty smutty areas and solid storyline.

it pains me to dnf a book because it feels like leaving a part of me but this is the second time id dnf a book and i surely wont be ever thinking about it at all because seriously? the guys were the reason she had to leave her town, one of them married the bitch who bullied her, had a daughter, and still have the audacity to want her? and right after she came back, they were at it again like nothing happened!? years ago, they lied sleeping with her resulting for her parents and brother to look at her like she's a slut being delusional. for people to make fun of her. and they didn't do nothing. the men dont even have the balls because they're afraid to lose their friend because they fuck his sister. they're adult huh? i seems to forget because they act like a horny teenager especially the fl here. girl is older than me but dont have a slightest self respect and pride to herself and act like shed never taste a dick in her life. i hope the writer have a happy life to even think and worst write a story plot like this. BOOTOK IS WORST. RECOMMENDING STORIES LIKE THIS SEEMS STUPID. WE READ BECAUSE WE LIKE MEN WHO HAVE BALLS AND NOT SOME SICK HORNY ASSHOLES. ROMANTICIZING THIS BOOK IS A BIT MUCH FOR EVEN SOMEONE LIKE ME.

I'm always a fan of a spicey book with a baby troupe, but just no. The only reason I can give 1 star is for the humor. I'm all for living your best hoe life and I live for the sex scenes, but the story was not giving what it should've gave. Reagan was horrified of a rumor from a decade ago, so she decides to sleep with them again the first night she's in town? If she had a backbone, it wouldn't have been so bad, but the, "I can't control myself around them" was such an ick for me. It takes a lot for me to rate a book negatively AND right a review, but this was so hard to finish. I didn't want to not finish it due to pride, but I will never, ever read this book again. I even liked the idea of MMMF, but the story was annoying. If you want to read for the spicey aspect, cool, but the story was awful. 0/10, would not recommend lmao Way to start off the new year with this horrible choice.

Quick sexy read. This book was a good read. It felt as wholesome as a rh can get lol. I saw where a few people said they couldn't finish cuz they were upset that she fell back into bed with them 10yrs later but come on now that's not that big kids are mean especially in high-school so it's not a big deal I thought about skipping it because of those reviews but I'm glad I didn't. The only reason im giving it a 4 was because there were some typos and because I felt as though the junk with Jenny wasn't properly finished and we didn't get a delivery epilogue nor a talk with iris about how she was going to have a step mom and a sibling(even though it might not be a sibling in blood it would be one in spirit). Other than that the story was wonderful.

DNF😫

Pathetic MFC, she reminds me of a cat in heat, I'm sorry but I can't with womans portrayal of other woman this pathetic, and mindless over D**k (And this from someone who loves reverse harems) after she was left alone to go through the humiliation, then to boot her only friend gets lopped in with all the bad memories this chick is not very likeable, and still gives into all of them I'm thinking okay they will apologize and explain why it went down the way it did but nope. Then she gets the news of Theo and the threat I thought she might follow through with staying away from him. The night she went to Theo "to talk" I stopped reading cause I knew she was gonna sleep with him just no with this book.

Aggg!!!

I freaking love this book. It was cute and amazing. I can say that it is another situation with an overbearing brother who thinks he has more say than he actually does. But the sister just going along with it. That really irritates me because who said you can dictate anything or treat your sister like 💩💩💩??? Okay rant over.

Reagan left home when she was 18 shortly after a rumor circulated about her being a lying slut. All of which could have been stopped had August, Theo, and Charlie told the truth. But they didn’t because of Reagan’s brother Russ. See why it’s irritating. I get not want your friends to like your sister but when you allow and believe rumors and lies about the sister you should know better than anyone and push her away or treat her like 💩 then you are problem.

So after being called out for being a “home wrecker by her boss’ wife, whom she was dating and hadn’t known was married, and then subsequently fired from her job because her boss’ partners didn’t want to make any waves. She moves from LA back to Lunar. She stays with her brother in the basement of the house that used to being to their parents before they passed and belongs to both of them.

She rekindles things with Charlie, Theo, and August after another one nighter following their class reunion. And from there it becomes this whirlwind sexathon with all the feels attached. The only problem, because of Russ, they are determined to keep it a secret. 👈🏽 DO YOU SEE MY PROBLEM WITH RUSS YET????

Anywho, as things progress Russ’ wife Lisa, who I freaking love figures it out. And Reagan’s best friend Meagan knows because Reagan always tells her and her wife about it. As it gets harder to keep things under wraps Reagan’s high school bully Jenny only makes things worse with her jealousy. Seriously, Jenny was a miserable twat.

By the end I still don’t like Russ. But Reagan gets her men. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Yay!!! And all the blackmailing can stop. Oh wait I don’t think I mentioned it up too. Just read it if a lot of spice, a little comedy, and romance is your thing. I promis these 4 won’t disappoint. 😏
