... WHY??? How on earth could Erika fall in love with Kyoya??? He's a manipulative jerk! And I'm sorry, I have absolutely ZERO patience for his kind of bullshit! Especially that after what he did at the restaurant. I don't understand how Erika fell in love with him or why she even bothers to keep up the stupid lie that got her into this mess in the first place.
Tell the truth and dump his ass! He isn't worth it!
Anyway, there's also a short story tacked onto the end of this volume that also kinda deals with a boyfriend fake-out, but it's from the boy's perspective and it's actually really sweet. Oji decides he doesn't like Mio because she's a gyaru girl. But she did steal his first kiss so he can't ignore her like he used to. So he inadvertently gets to know her and then he actually falls for her (cause she's a good person under all that makeup). Very much a "Don't judge a book by it's cover" story.
This series has 16 volumes.

Bir gün önce ilk cildi okuduğumda devam edip etmemekte kararsızdım ancak bu ciltle birlikte okuma isteğim biraz kamçılandı sanki. Hisleriyle yüzleşemeyen Kyouya-kun'un öküzcüğe dönüşmesini okuduk.

actually enjoyed the side-story more than the main plot.

Erika just wants to fit in with her friends as they are always going on and on about having boyfriends and one day she decides to make up her own. Little did she know that she would have to prove that she has a boyfriend and when forced to prove it she takes some random guys picture. How did she know he went to the same school. What's a girl to do now but ask him to be her boyfriend and shocking he agrees to pretend but he's not going to let her off easy.
I like Erika she's easy to relate to I feel like any of us would have done the same thing she did in order to fit in. However, I would have made sure the guy I was pretended to date didn't go to my school. I was so conflicted about Kyoya but the more we learn about him the more I'm starting to like him. He has some redeemable qualities.

It's only recently started being published in English so I had to snap up the first two in the series as we wait for the third installment. I devoured both installments in one afternoon and I enjoyed them. It's a fast paced story that kept me turning each page wanting to know what will happen next.
I have high hopes for this odd friendship turning into more than just pretending. It feels very slow burn which is my favorite kind of romance. That artwork is beautifully done and very detailed the author has done a lovely job creating a captivating story. I'm looking forward to checking out more of the authors works as I wait for the next in the series to come out. Highly recommend if you like romance manga.

This sends such a wrong message... No, it's not okay "even if he likes you just a little bit" when he's being a jerk, toying with your feelings and sending mixed signals. That's not okay even if he liked you a lot.

I love the drama and the cute little love sense between Erika and Koya. The dog jokes arn't to bad so I really enjoyed this book and im excited to read volume 3.

I liked this volume, but something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not entirely sure how to even explain it. I do want to continue with the series though as sometimes manga is just like that and I really enjoy the storyline so far. We will see!

Το δεύτερο τεύχος του Λυκοκόριτσου είναι εξίσου απολαυστικό με το πρώτο. Βασικά, όσο το σκέφτομαι, ίσως να είναι ακόμα περισσότερο, καθώς "παίζει" σε τρία διαφορετικά επίπεδα, ένα για κάθε κεφάλαιο, αναπτύσσοντας τόσο την ίδια την πλοκή αλλά και τους χαρακτήρες που δρουν μέσα σ' αυτήν. Παράλληλα, δεύτεροι, νέοι χαρακτήρες κάνουν την εμφάνισή τους οι οποίοι σίγουρα στο μέλλον θα κληθούν να παίξουν σημαντικό ρόλο, αφού ήδη έκαναν αισθητή την παρουσία τους με ένα πρώτο, δυναμικό πέρασμα. Η Erika έχει αρχίσει να συνειδητοποιεί πως για τον Kyouya νιώθει κάτι περισσότερο απ' αυτό ίσως θα ήθελε ή ακόμα καλύτερα, από αυτό που θα ήταν φυσιολογικό να νιώθει. Μπορεί να την βοήθησε να βγει από μια δύσκολη κατάσταση ωστόσο, δεν παύει να είναι και ο βασανιστής της. Όσο όμως η επιθυμία μέσα της κορυφώνεται, τόσο δεν μπορεί να ελέγξει τον εαυτό της και αποφασίζει να ρίξει τις μάσκες και να μιλήσει με ειλικρίνεια. Αυτό ακολουθείται από δύο τινά με έναν κοινό παρανομαστή. Τόσο η Erika όσο και ο Kyouya, ρίχνουν τις άμυνές τους, άλλος λιγότερο, άλλος περισσότερο. Το θέμα είναι πως αποδέχονται την κατάσταση ως έχει, μπαίνοντας πλέον σε μια νέα τροχιά. Εκεί κάνει την εμφάνισή του ο κολλητός του Kyouya, ο Takeru, ο κλασσικός κολλητός που συμπαθεί πολύ την κοπέλα που τριγυρίζει τον φίλο του και αποφασίζει να την βοηθήσει. Βέβαια, στην προκειμένη, ο ζήλος είναι λίγο μεγαλύτερος από το απαραίτητο, αλλά αυτό οδηγεί σε ένα κεφάλαιο απολαυστικό, με πολλές κωμικές και διασκεδαστικές στιγμές, που δεν ευτελίζουν όμως το βαθύτερο νόημά του. Δεν θα σας πω ποια είναι, αλλά στο κεφάλαιο αυτό, υπάρχει μία από τις κορυφαίες ατάκες της σειράς που σημαίνει πάρα πολλά. Πλέον, όλοι έχουν ανοίξει τα χαρτιά τους και η Erika ίσως να έχει μια ευκαιρία. Βέβαια, το τελευταίο κεφάλαιο, είναι αυτό που ανατρέπει τις ισορροπίες. Ο Kyouya γίνεται πιο αντιπαθητικός και απαράδεκτος από ποτέ άλλοτε, η Erika πληγώνεται -και με το δίκιο της- μέχρι εκεί που δεν πάει άλλο και όλα κρέμονται από μια κλωστή. Ουσιαστικά, έχουμε το ταρακούνημα που χρειάζονταν και οι δυο τους, έστω και σε διαφορετικό πλαίσιο. Το ταρακούνημα εκείνο που ξεκαθαρίζει ορισμένα πράγματα και θέτει κάποια αυστηρά όρια. Αυτό το manga, θέλοντας και μη, σε κάνει να χαμογελάς... συνέχεια! Και κάποιες φορές να θυμώνεις... ή να έρχεσαι σε δύσκολη θέση... Και ναι, αυτή είναι η επιτυχία του, ότι μέσα στο πλαίσιο της υπερβολής που εξελίσσονται κάποια πράγματα, μοιάζουν απολύτως λογικά και φυσιολογικά και κυρίως, ταυτίζεσαι με πρόσωπα και καταστάσεις, ενώ ανυπομονείς για την εξέλιξή τους.

Non ho la minima idea perchè io stia dando 3 stelle a questo manga, perché onestamente non ne ho motivo. Credo di aver odiato il 90% di quello che ho letto per tutti i 16 volumi eppure, in qualche modo, sono arrivata alla fine. Forse per curiosità, forse per i personaggi secondari, forse perché gli shoujo tossici sono il mio guilty pleasure. Fatto sta, eccomi qui.
Senza perdere tempo, partiamo dalla cosa che ho odiato più di tutte: Kyoya.
Credo che Kyoya sia uno dei peggiori protagonisti maschili che io abbia mai incontrato in uno shoujo. Non è il classico bad boy arrogante che sotto sotto è innamorato perso della protagonista e lo dimostra a modo suo. Kyoya per gran parte della serie sembra semplicemente disinteressato a Erika come persona. La insulta, la umilia, la tratta come se fosse un cane, la prende in giro continuamente, non le dà rassicurazioni, non la sostiene quando ne avrebbe bisogno e, soprattutto, sembra passare più tempo a farla stare male che a renderla felice. Specialmente terribile il capitolo in cui la definisce "maiale" quando "ingrassa" (e qui ci vorrebbe una parentesi enorme per descrivere lo schifo provato nel leggere commenti simili rivolti ad una sedicenne MAGRISSIMA, non immagino nemmeno come possa arrivare a delle bambine/giovani ragazze che leggono).
Il problema non è nemmeno il suo carattere iniziale, il problema è che in 16 volumi c'è una crescita minima, se non inesistente. Ha qualche momento carino? Sicuramente. Qualche scena di gelosia, qualche gesto di premura, qualche dimostrazione d'affetto. Ma stiamo parlando di forse una manciata di episodi sparsi in un'opera lunghissima. Troppo poco. Non basta un abbraccio ogni tanto a compensare pagine e pagine di comportamenti tossici, di vero e proprio bullismo mentale e fisico perpetrato ad Erika. Se almeno ci fosse stata una backstory di un certo livello per giustificare una tale cattiveria, un tale distacco e una tale apatia, almeno avrebbe avuto un senso. Invece, più semplicemente, è un personaggio orribile sotto ogni aspetto. Sembra miserabile anche dopo che si sono sposati e hanno avuto una figlia.
E qui arriviamo alla seconda cosa che mi ha fatto perdere anni di vita: Erika.
Perché se Kyoya è insopportabile, Erika riesce nell'impresa di farmi esasperare quasi allo stesso modo. Vederla accettare qualsiasi comportamento da parte sua è stato frustrante oltre ogni limite: si scusa continuamente anche quando non ha fatto assolutamente nulla di sbagliato, si colpevolizza per qualsiasi cosa e sembra incapace di riconoscere quando viene trattata male. Non si prova tenerezza per lei, nemmeno pena, solo esasperazione per quanto un personaggio possa rivelarsi ingenuo, imbarazzante e soprattutto umiliante. E' talmente servile da dare il voltastomaco. Qui non è neanche un discorso di sadismo-masochismo, qui si parla proprio di deviazione mentale, perchè non è accettabile in nessuna situazione essere trattati così e non andrebbe minimamente romanticizzato.
Non credo esista rappresentazione di un personaggio femminile umiliante quanto lei. C'è addirittura una scena in cui un vecchio amico di Erika la schiaffeggia e prova a molestarla e LEI COMUNQUE PENSA DI SCUSARSI PER AVER FATTO QUALCOSA DI MALE. È veramente un insulto a tutte le donne e specialmente alle ragazze più piccole che leggono questo manga. NON STATE CON DELLE PERSONE CHE VI TRATTANO COME KYOYA TRATTA ERIKA, E NON COMPORTATEVI IN MODO SERVILE E STUPIDO COME ERIKA! È la prima volta che leggendo un manga NON tifo per la coppia principale, sarei stata più felice se Erika si fosse messa con il dolcissimo Kusakabe o letteralmente con qualsiasi altra persona.
La loro relazione è così sbilanciata da risultare quasi imbarazzante da leggere.
Andando avanti, menzione "speciale" anche a Rena. Non ricordo l'ultima volta che un personaggio secondario mi abbia fatto incazzare così tanto. Mettersi in competizione con la propria cugina per un ragazzo è già abbastanza squallido di suo, ma il suo atteggiamento arrogante ha reso ogni sua apparizione ancora più irritante, avrei voluto schiaffeggiarla. Stessa cosa per Kasai, altro personaggio che sembra esistere unicamente per creare problemi inutili.
Eppure, nonostante questo, questo manga ha una qualità ENORME: i personaggi secondari.
San, Takeru, Kamiya, Marin, Tezuka, Kusakabe... loro sono il vero motivo per cui non riesco a bocciare completamente questa serie. Sono divertenti, ben caratterizzati, hanno personalità distinte e spesso risultano molto più interessanti dei protagonisti stessi. L'amicizia che si crea tra loro è probabilmente la cosa più bella dell'intera opera. Tutte le scene scolastiche, i compleanni, il diploma, il Natale, i viaggi, momenti di gruppo... sono quelle che ricordo con più affetto e nostalgia. Anche se sono un po’ arrabbiata che l’autrice non abbia fatto finire insieme San e Takeru…
Comunque, loro sono i pilastri di questo manga, se non ci fossero stati loro, sarebbe stato una tragedia.
Ed è proprio questo che mi lascia un po' di amarezza. Perché questo manga dimostra come l'autrice sarebbe stata perfettamente in grado di scrivere relazioni sincere e personaggi interessanti. Per questo fa ancora più strano vedere quanto la relazione principale sia stata romanticizzata nonostante fosse così tossica.
Alla fine gli ho dato 3 stelle perché, nonostante tutto, mi ha intrattenuta. L'ho letto con leggerezza e così dovrebbe essere per tutti. Ma come storia d'amore non funziona per me. Non mi ha fatto battere il cuore, non mi ha fatto sognare e soprattutto non mi ha trasmesso un'idea sana di amore. Non capisco come abbia valutazioni e recensioni così alte.
Però devo ammettere che le note dell’autrice in ogni volume sono ESILARANTI, la adoro!
Le 3 stelle sono tutte per gli splendidi personaggi secondari e per la loro amicizia! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A mi sinceramente me encantó, me gusta como poco a poco la relacion de ambos se va volviendo más confianzuda. Kyouya Sata es un completo raro... es perfecto para todos, pero su lado oscuro es tan sexy... hace que sienta interes por este personaje

Stop I'm literally screaming. Some parts of this manga is so cringe and embarrassing, and I'm confused as to what actions of his made her fall in love, you know, I can understand a crush even liking him, sincr she never felt like this before but to fall in love?????? And I'm never the one to blame the girl, but I mean, come on, he has repeatedly stated exactly what he thinks about relationship and love and the way he treats women. And then she goes on to say that she doesn't want to change him and doesn't care and will love him anyways, like girl must be out of her mind. And then she goes on to change herself to fit in with his image of attractiveness. Her blowing up in the cafe was kinda satisfying but telling him to die is a bit much, but I guess they're perfect for each other in a way because he also said if she wants to jump off a bridge. Also I get if he can't accept her feelings or doesn't feel the same at the moment but there is no need for him to turn her feelings in to a joke. I honestly think to a certain extent, this is just too messy people getting together.

I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review.
I really wanted to like this more, however, Kyoya, the main guy, is really getting on my nerves. I get that it's supposed to be a tsundere type, but he kind of takes it too far. In this one, he literally acts one way one moment and then laughs in the girls face to the point she can't take it. Then he comes in with a gift and it's all okay again? It honestly took me out of the whole story. I might give the 3rd one a chance, but if the guy lead keeps going down this path after that, I might not finish this series.
One thing I did like was the introduction of Kyoya's friend from middle school. He was my favorite part of this whole volume because he was a big himbo. I almost wished it would have turned in to a love triangle. His friend was funny, sweet, and supportive of Erika.
I'm on the fence with this one. I want to keep reading because I love the author's other manga Ima Koi, but this one takes tsundere a bit too extreme and less on the soft side for me.
I really wanted to like this more, however, Kyoya, the main guy, is really getting on my nerves. I get that it's supposed to be a tsundere type, but he kind of takes it too far. In this one, he literally acts one way one moment and then laughs in the girls face to the point she can't take it. Then he comes in with a gift and it's all okay again? Wolf Girl and Black Prince began when Erika, tired of hearing her two classmates brag about their boyfriends, decided to make up a boyfriend. When the two girls pressured Erika to see a picture of this “boyfriend”, Erika took a picture of a random hot guy on the street. Unfortunately the guy is actually a student at her school and while he shows a princely attitude to his classmates has some big personality flaws. Erika quickly explained the situation to him and he reluctantly agrees to play along for a price. Erika must be his dog!
In volume 2, the couple run into Kyoya’s middle school friend. They stop and catch up at a diner. When the three part, Erika follows the fiend and asks for advice about Kyoya. The friend agrees to help her. Having help in her love/hate relationship with Kyoya gives Erika hope. With Christmas fast approaching can Erika reach his heart or has she already reached it and he wont’ admit it.

basically the only thing that's keeping me from screaming out the door is bc the whole "manipulating" part is kind of a joke? like he doesn't TRULY want her to be his dog😭 i think😭

anyhoo by this volume apparently erika has already decided she's fallen in love with kyoya and confesses her undying love to him- only to basically be rejected, but bc of the strange nature of their relationship, is still his girlfriend

Erika admits that she likes Kyouya, but as usual he doesn't do emotions well. He can fake it with the best of them, but then he turns it around like it's all still part of the act. If he didn't care though, why does he keep going after her and buying her a "collar" (necklace) for Christmas. Can definitely see how Erika would get whiplash and maybe more than a bit of emotional trauma trying to read him and chasing after a relationship. Despite his harsh demeanor, can't help but wonder if there's a ring of truth in his words - what person would willing go through so many things so thoroughly for the sake of this lie if they didn't actually enjoy spending time with each other at least on some level.

Says Kyouya could use some character development. Besides that, I know in the rest of the series, he’ll probably show more of his caring or nicer side towards Erika, perhaps & hopefully with some changes!
Despite that, I enjoyed reading it. The characters may not be the most likable but the story and tropes catches my interest. It’s something I read lightheartedly but there was some angst that I encountered, but overall, just fun to get through!
The manga illustration is also nice! I like the visuals and comedy in this manga.

Erika is very conflicted over her relationship with Kyoya. She likes him, but is constantly getting mixed signals from him. Sometimes he is exasperating, sometimes his is aloof, and then sometimes he is quite charming and almost human! She is always feeling wrong-footed around him. And then when she is trying to get over him, he shows up and gives her a Christmas gift. What is she supposed to do? As a bonus, Ayuka Hatta provides a short story involving a clueless boy and girl who knows what she wants and takes it!

It’s pretty obvious from the outside that Kyoyo likes Erika, but is being all nonchalant about it for reasons I don’t really understand. It’s hard to believe Erika is “in love” with him so quickly, so much so she’d put up with the constant teasing and uncertainty, but I’m glad she didn’t keep what’s she’s feeling to herself. Kyoyo might be hiding his true feelings but at least Erika is being upfront and honest. Maybe one day he’ll follow suit. I do appreciate that he actually listened to her and came to see her on Christmas Eve.

Kyoya is super toxic. I don’t know how Erika can take this. I would’ve dropped him like a hot potato ages before this and just claimed to my friends that he’s a loser and moved on. I get that to some degree that Kyoya might like Erika, but to trick her at this point is major red flags. I’ve got the 3rd volume checked out from the library so I’ll read it but I don’t know if I want to continue this series if this relationship is going to continue to be so toxic. Also the little one shot at the end was super cute with the gal pal and the nerd boy.

I’m so happy to be re-reading this series. There’s something so satisfying about an early 2010s romance story plot. (I love seeing the flip phones.)
This story still holds up for me. I appreciate how slow MMC is to change his ways. Erika is also a solid character and isn’t too whiny like some FMCs of that time. This makes me want to watch the anime again too.
I hope to be able to read all the next volumes~

When Kyoya said “And scene!”, I almost threw the book!!! What an ass!!!! But I know deep down he cares. He’s just scared of being vulnerable and doesn’t want anyone to able to hurt him. Boy’s got some trauma (some mommy issues) to deal with!
I loved that Erika and Takeru teamed up. It was hilarious. I love these kinds of shojo antics.
And the short story at the end of this volume- about the nerdy boy and the gyaru chick? Absolutely hilarious!!! I loved it.

This was a little less heart warming than the first volume but I loved it equally as much. I liked how Erika wasn't trying to change him but make him feel the same way as she does to him. I think that is what got me hooked onto this manga out of everything. And kyoya having some difficulty in loving Erika cause he feels like he will be in pain when he loses her is also so real of him. Idk why I even liked this series tbh but it is and will always remain close to my heart.
