My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Retribution at the Ranch. I'm a big fan of Lenora's work. I really enjoyed this one. It's well-written, action-packed and full of faith. I know you are going to love it.
Heiress Amelia Garcia is hiding out in Texas. A PI has found her and wants to take her back to her uncle's ranch. Her uncle has recently died. She has no intention of going back there. As they are talking someone starts shooting at them.
PI Marco Landon has been searching for Amelia for two weeks, he' tired and cold and she meets him with a gun in hand. How is he going to talk her into going back with him? Then they are attacked by shooters. She thinks the shooters are after him but he's sure they are after her. Can he keep her safe and find out what is going on?
A terrifying journey but God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A plan for peace and not for destruction even in a this time of political unrest.
Amelia's fiance David died when his truck hit a tree. David's dad did not like Amelia so he refused to let her come to the funeral. She packed up and moved away from Leo and the Triple R Ranch to start a new life. She built a cabin and was happy there until Marco, a PI, was hired by Samuel, Leo's lawyer, to come and find her. Leo had died and Amelia was needed to be at the reading of the will. The night that Marco found her, someone came and set her cabin on fire hoping to kill both Amelia and Marco. She lost everything except her camera equipment and a few of her possessions. Marco takes her back to the Triple R Ranch where according to the will she learns that Leo left his ranch to her. A man was killed and other strange events start to happen so Marco is kept on the payroll to protect Amelia until the mysteries are solved. Marco and Amelia start to develop feelings for each other but hesitate to pursue anything until that mystery is solved and she is deeded the ranch. Then Marco hopes that they can build a future together.
Setting: Texas This book took me longer to read because my husband and I read it together out loud and we only read a chapter or two a day. This book was full of suspense and almost every chapter ended on a cliffhanger, with a crisis or a flashback of something bad that had already happened. We enjoyed discussing the book and trying to figure out who was responsible for all the suspenseful things that were happening on the ranch. This is my second book by Lenora Worth and I would read more books by her.
Enjoyed this story. Marco and Amelia story was exciting from start to finish. Marco became Amelia protector and one she could love. Both came from pasts full of heartache. Amelia came home to a ranch she really didn't want. But there was one who wanted it more. He tried to get rid of her. But God and Marco came to her aide. Looking forward to more by this author.
This is the first 5-star rating that I have given in a while. The author provided us with a different type of plot. Action occurred from the beginning to the end. She had several instances of beautifully descriptive language. There were 2 times where Marco and Marcus seemed to me to be speaking about the same person. Were those typos? A very good book and I will look for more by this author.
There was suspense , danger, heartache, and romance, that keep me captivated throughout the book! The connection between Marco and Amelia was exciting, intense, and so interesting!! Great book!!!!
