Write what you know. Isn’t that what they always say?
Though I currently live in the flat, flat lands of Indiana, I’ve spent most of my life in West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. As I have found out, you can take the girl out of Appalachia, but you can’t take the Appalachia out of the girl.
So now, I write hot, heartfelt contemporary romances with a magic mountain twist.
When I’m not haunting the house at all hours writing, I have another life as a PR/marketing writer, wife to my long-time husband, and a mother to my two sons, who are rapidly fleeing the nest. Come sit with me for a spell. I've got some stories to tell you...
This was a new to me author, and I was pleasantly surprised with a great read. It was definitely an emotional journey and packed a punch. Jenna and Wade had a hot and heavy relationship for almost a year when he was a big shot on the rodeo circuit. She’d run away at 16yo and worked her way up as a barn rat to a manager, and was his right hand everything. He was the rodeo king and she was the buckle bunny though, and his family was less than welcoming. They had a terrible falling out as he was spiraling out of control, and she fled and disappeared. The story begins 10 years later with both of them living a much different life. After a career ending injury, he’s sober and moving to a farm he inherited from an aunt. She owns a dinner in the same small town and a cottage next to his farm.
There’s a lot to love about this story. Young Wade was a rodeo king, but also a pretty selfish Jack off with the way he treated Jenna. Even though he loved her. He definitely has a lot of self discovery throughout this book. His life is completely different now. He’s no longer the superstar, he’s sober, he’s walked away from his family. But he hadn’t seen just how much he’d failed Jenna. And she let him. She followed him around without a second thought. She had her own baggage, and she spent most of the book with the idea that shoving it in a box was better than unloading it on someone else. But she wasn’t immune to his charm, she wasn’t unwilling to give them another chance.
I loved the small town community. I loved the way they supported each other. A teenage Savannah shows up in town and Wade steps up immediately. Seeing all the relationships grow and develop felt real and natural, not forced or contrived. There’s no OW/OM drama or third act break up. Overall, it was a well written emotional journey for two broken people who found their way back together.
Jenna Coleman was a teenage runaway. No one, especially Wade, knows the horrors she endured in her father's house. She fled and never looked back. She now lives in Sirensong Falls where she runs a mountaintop cafe. The previous owner had taken her in when she had hit rock bottom. She's built a successful life for herself but there's still been something, or someone, missing.
Wade Deckers is former rodeo bull rider cowboy who has been searching for Jenna for several years. Only after unexpectedly inherited a farm does he discover she lives nearby. Will this finally be his chance to make up for the past?
But the past doesn't always stay in the past. It can pop up in the future and cause you to finally deal with it if you ever want to heal and move forward. As the past catches up with Wade, Jenna is there to help him. But when her past crashes into her...

This was Wade & Jenna’s book. Jenna’s come a long way from her days as a desperate teenage runaway, working in barns and chasing after cowboys. Nearly twenty years on, and she’s found a place to belong in Sirensong Falls, running a successful mountaintop café not far from her cozy little clapboard cottage. Life is good. Peaceful. Until Wade Deckers, “the most reckless man in rodeo,” crashes back into her life. Wade can’t believe his luck. All those years of searching for Jenna, and he’s found her living next door to the farm he’d never expected to inherit. But she’s not the wild, adventurous woman he remembers. She’s wary, and still wounded by the way their fiery love affair had ended. He wants to make it right. It was a sweet, emotional one for me. And anew author. Am voluntarily leaving my review.
Two broken hearts, two broken people, combine into one beautiful love for each other. Both felt rejected by their disfunctional families, and then Jenna was hurt by Wade, while he was the top bull-riding cowboy in the country. Now both find themselves in Sirensong Falls. Wade knows he screwed up royally and is willing to do whatever it takes to get Jenna back. A surprise (I won't give away the plot) provides a twist, with both good and bad results. Jenna's mother's arrival sends Jenna running - again. I stayed up late to finish it, hoping for that happy ending. I also look forward to the next book in the series, the preview sounds interesting.
Jenna thinks she has finally found her new home. She came to Sirensong Falls and started working in a cafe. The woman there took her under her wing. It was the best thing for her. Now she owns the Cafe and loving it. As long as she keeps her past in the past she is fine. Then she sees someone form her past and it shocked her. Wade was in her past and she would rather not see him. It brings up too many memories she can’t deal with. But Wade has other ideas. Now that he found her he does not want to let her go away again. Looks like he has a lot of work to do. Let’s find out if he makes it?
Jenna has a small town diner and is content, away for her hard background. Wade is ex-rodeo and starting the second stage of his life as a small rancher - right next door to Jenna. They start to open up to each other, but even worse is headed their way. Great chemistry, entertaining situations and banter. Terrific ending.

I loved this second chance romance! It had all the elements I adore in cozy, small town, hallmark with spice stories…
A fierce heroine who’s worked hard to overcome the hardships in her life. A hero who’s turning over a new leaf and remaking himself into the man he thinks she deserves.
There were some grammatical errors throughout the book that took I found very distracting, but overall this book kept me entertained, which is all I ask for from a romance. There are some heavy topics discussed as well, so check trigger warnings if you have trouble reading about certain topics.
An interesting easy read with several twists along the way to keep you guessing up to the happy ending. I plan to see what other books the author has written.
