Moore Sisters #2

The Night Shift

Rate this book
A dark, steamy, enemies-with-benefits romance thriller from the author of The Publicity Stunt

One can't trust. The other can't be trusted.

Enticing. Deadly. Diabolically smart.
Holly Moore is not a good person. Not even a little bit.
Trauma surgeon by day and something a lot more sinister by night, her life isn’t as simple as it appears to be.

Charming. Unpredictable. An expert liar.
Theo Carter is the only one who sees Holly for who she truly is. The more she pushes him away, the more he pushes back.
He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. And what he wants is her.

But he’s not the only one who does.

When a very real danger from her past resurfaces, Holly has no choice but to set her grudge—and scalpel—aside and work with the man she’d much rather stab in the neck. Forced to form an unlikely partnership, Holly and Theo find themselves pulled into a very lethal game of cat and mouse. But it’s only a matter of time before Holly’s dark past catches up with them. And when it does, it all comes down to one burning question …

How far is too far in the name of love?

i’ve never read a dark romance book so captivating before. i’d get on my knees for this book bc wtf this was so freaking amazing. Tanuskha’s writing is on another level! LOVE the way she handles sensitive situations & love how relatable Holly is (minus the 🔪ing) BUT this is the perfect spooky season read! I CANT WAIT FOR U GUYS TO READ IT!

Also, Theo? every time that man opens his mouth i can’t help but giggle & swoon like a silly little school girl. He’s officially my new fave book bf.

ARC REVIEW

4.25/5

‼️ First things first, PLEASE READ THE TWs. This book is NOT for the faint of heart.

“All that matters is that if she’s drowning, I’d simply turn into the body of water she’s sinking into. I have no interest in saving her. I want all of her. The light, the dark. The good and the bad. I want it all.”

OMG. WHAT. A. RIDE. I wouldn’t say I’m a dark romance kinda girl, but if you were following my reading updates on this book, then you know I was having the absolute time of my life—not sure if I should be worried about how much I enjoyed something so twisted & disturbing, but it was a blast, okay? When I said I was lmao, I meant I was LAUGHING. MY. ARSE. OFF. I meant I was laughing until I couldn’t breathe & had tears down my cheeks. Tanushka Bhatnagar can write banter for days. She’s hilarious AF—but also scary AF. I have never read anything so unhinged & gruesome in my life. I would never want to be on this author’s betrayal list, even though she’s on mine—she knows why. 😾

Listen, I don’t want to give anything away, but if you want a book that will make you laugh, angry, kick & scream, blush, sob, & maybe throw up a little, I highly recommend this one. Theo Carter is THE ultimate golden retriever MMC. No other fictional man I know is as loyal & obsessed as this man & his POV was everything to me. Holly Moore is so rude—Theo’s words, not mine—but she’s an effin’ badass heroine you’ll always want on your side. And the twist?! I had chills when it was revealed & I just had chills thinking about it again.

PS. If you’ve read When We Were by Diana Elliot Graham, you should know that what’s his face finally gets what he deserves here.

This book was bloody perfect (pun definitely intended 🔪😂)

If you would mix the banter of lights out, with the plot of Butcher and Blackbird and add female rage of Lana Myers, you will get this book !! It’s perfection!

Bloody and gruesome sometimes but funny and hilarious at the same time. It’s a great mix of enemies to lovers and obsessed MMC 🤭🙏🏼

Highly recommend !!! 🙀 pls check the TW !! 👀
so happy I got to read it as ARC - thank you !! 🤍

I finished this book five minutes ago, and I already miss them.

I have been waiting for Holly and Theo's book for YEARS, and I am so so happy to report that it is even better than I expected. The Night Shift is funny and romantic and sexy and kinda scary ngl but it's okay because HollyTheo are the hottest couple in existence.

It is nearly impossible to put this book down—the sole exception being those frequent moments where you scream into a pillow because "oh my god, did he just do that????" or "WHAT DID SHE SAY????" Other than that, TNS will be glued to your hands.

The plot is addictive. The mystery/suspense aspect had me guessing for so long! The serial killer stuff was way more fun that it had any right to be, but Dr Holly Moore is hilarious, and I would let her stab me any day of the week. Theo can fight me on that.

Speaking of Theo, I am absolutely oBSESSED with him. It is entirely unfair that he is not real. His stalker obsession is ridiculously romantic, and I will never get over any of his dialogue. I'm sorry but what do you mean she complained that she didn't get to touch him so HE KISSED HER PALM???????

Back to Holly because she is the love of my life, actually, but her character development is unrivaled. I am a HUGE sucker for the fmc that doesn't think she's capable of love or being loved and the mmc that loves her like breathing trope, and that basically describes TNS. Holly has been through so much, and she hides everything beneath her scary serial killer mask, but Theo sees through it and gives her the safe space she needs to be herself and OH MY GOD I AM GOING TO START CRYING I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

Suffice to say, this is one of my favorite books of all time, and you need to read it. Right now. No excuses.

Thank you to the author for my copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Absolutely hooked from the get-go. The level of unhinged is insane, you think you know what I’m talking about, but you don’t, when I say unhinged I mean gotta get myself checked out. 🫠

I genuinely appreciate how the characters did undergo their development but they always remained themselves, I loved the fact that Holly was 100% Holly from front to end despite undergoing her development. That truly made my feminist heart happy because I’ve read books before where the heroine was supposed to be a real badass and then proceeds to turn into some helpless damsel or lovesick bitch throughout the book and that was definitely NOT the case with Holly, so big applause for that! 👏🏻

Theo is clearly completely, thoroughly and utterly fucked in the head crazy for Holly, but more importantly than that is that he never, not once, has tried to change her or make her feel like she has to be anything else than herself. To him, she is – and always has been perfect. Holly has an incredibly hard time trusting, with quite the traumatising past and an overall “don’t breathe in my direction” personality and I love how real the author kept those key aspects of Holly alive until the very end. Theo might be an absolute nut job but he was never a simp, It made the relationship building and the dynamics between Theo and Holly so real. ❤️

The humour is just *chefs kiss* no notes, I laughed out loud. And I don’t think you understand how important that is, I’ve read SO many books where an author clearly attempted but the jokes just completely fizzled out and died. I can’t even recall that many books where I actually laughed. The author did that incredibly well! 🙌🏻

ARC REVIEW: The Night Shift by Tanushka Bhatnagar
4.5/5
Boy oh boy was this book worth the wait. I LOVED the banter between the main characters Holly (femme fatale baddie who I want) and Theo (delusional simp who I also want). The yearning (!!!), gore (please read TWs), the thrill and mystery, heartfelt moments sprinkled all over the book, the knee buckling smut- I'LL CRASH OUT IF YOU DON'T READ IT!!!

What I really really liked was how Theo saw Holly for who she is and not her trauma. He didn't try to change her to be more palatable. He let her be her stabby, angry-at-the-world, amazing self. There were moments in Holly's POV where I saw pieces of myself and I didn't feel so alone.

If you like medical dark-rom-com and morally grey characters, this one's for you.

Thank you so much for sending me the ARC. I'm so bummed the series has ended but I'm really looking forward to the next paranormal series. ALSO THE EPILOGUE (AprilParker my babies)!!

I need to start by saying I had no idea what this book was about. I finished book 1 in the series and Kindle suggested book 2. OMW what did I stumble across?! This book is quite long but so well written, funny, scary, intriguing. I'm almost embarrassed to say I loved it. Does it mean something is wrong with me? A lot of trigger warnings that I missed and honestly the harm to animals were the biggest one for me. But again I have to give kudos to Tanushka for her writing style. It just pulls you in and I couldnt put this book down. One of the most memorable books I have read in a very long time. But please read the blurb and trigger warnings as Im sure this is not everyone's cup of tea.

Where do I even start?!
I am so so so beyond honoured to be chosen to read this as an arc 🙌🏻
Let’s try and do this without spoiling anything, Theo and Holly are quite possibly my new favourite book couple. The banter, the absolute chaos, the storyline, everything about this book was honestly flawless. I loved the twists, the tension, the chaos, the spice, everythinggg.
Honestly go get ready to read this when it’s released, it’ll have you on the edge, it’ll have you shouting “what the hell?” It’s amazing

Disclaimer: I got an ARC copy in exchange for a review. It doesn't impede my review.

I was pleasantly surprised. There were so many things that I liked in this book

The banter; the way that Holly and Theo would always have a spat was amusing and highly entertaining.

The mystery; I love it when I'm right about the mystery. Figured it out lol.

Wholesome; For a book about murder, it was surprisingly sweet and cute how Theo and Holly were. Y'know for psychopaths.

I think this is one of the first dark romance that I actually enjoyed.

4.5.

For Dog.

But because that seems a little petty, I rounded up because I really did love this book. Even more than the first, which was saying something since I was a Beta for the first and have been waiting patiently with my hand outstretched for this one.

I loved Holly. Not as much as Theo, but you get my drift.

Unhinged and gory. Beautiful and well written. If you haven't read the Moore Sisters books. You're missing out and should probably fix that.
