I loved this book so much that I want to give it to everyone I know. The concepts are broken down into digestible chunks and it's very interesting. Life-changing read.
I picked up the book to explore my interest in therapy and see if there were any tools in there that I could apply to my clients.
The good news is there are lots of applicable tools but ,more importantly, it’s helped me become more self-aware and recognise some aspects of myself that I can work on.
If any of these words and phrases resonate with you then I would recommend you add this to your reading list;
- people-pleasing - perfectionism - busyness - self compassion and a harsh inner critic - developing emotional intelligence - understanding your nervous system
This is written so well and the information is put in a way that it can be implemented in every day life. So informative and clears up SO many misconceptions I’ve had my entire life! Definitely life changing!
I read this three months ago and it's really had a positive impact on my mental health.
It's an excellent guide to understanding your nervous system, building awareness around your feelings, and reliably moving back into a comfortable state.
I’ve read a few books with similar themes to this one however I liked the focus that Abby took with hers. Her approach to mental health and subsequent actions is pragmatic and realistic.
