Wes Cartwright is a high-powered banker. Someone has dumped petting zoo animals on his family's ranch. Felicity is a Christmas card artist. To inspire her designs her boss is sending her somewhere cold and snowy. Felicity helps Wes to clean his ranch. He was going to sell the ranch, but Felicity came up with an idea. An enjoyable read. Loved it when all the Cartwright family got together for Christmas. 4☆
The book and blurb you have on Amazon entitled saving Wes is not about Wes but rather Luke and Madison. Very disconcerting and pretty much annoyed me enough trying to figure out what was going on to just close it and stop reading. You really ought to fix this.
I downloaded a book called "Saving Wes" but he was a secondary character, I suppose the content of the book belongs to "Saving Luke". So the review is for that book.
The first chapters are about Luke and Madison, then they go to the old farmhouse and meet Wes and the other brothers, next chapters Luke and Madison again. So quite clearly the books were interchanged.
There were a lot of inconsistencies and the book could use a good editor: - although Luke never read the letter before he made fotocopies for everybody for this meeting and then reads said letter; - Madison buys the house, gets the keys, has somebody set up electrcity, the pipes burst, she calls Luke, he calms her down for an hour, switches off electricity, drives her to his house, she takes a long hot shower and changes into dry clothes, they go to the meeting, discuss the shocking news, he organizes a crew to take out her old carpets, they go there and watch - and the reader is to believe all that happened in ONE day? - the renovation of her house is super fast as well: putting in electricity and plumbing in one day? magic craftsmen!!! - Jesse, a football player, was in knee surgery during the meeting, he shows up at Luke's house the next day; I doubt it is possible and done to leave hospital, get in a plane and drive a car the next day, later he uses Luke's gym. Usually professionals in sport would start with physical rehab under supervision immediately and driving a car is not possible due to the cast.
A lot of the story is told not shown, we learn that Madison got the recipes from Felicity, why couldnt we read the telephone call? The same applies to her interaction with Jesse.
It was fun to read her interviews of the former poker players, those scenes were well done.
Madison saw the potential in an old abandoned house in Apple Pie Creek. As host of a cooking show held there, she had fallen in love with the area. After paying more than she should have, she delightedly began cleaning it up, planning to stay there while renovating it. To her horror, water pipes burst all over the house. Not only was it a complete disaster, but she also became convinced that she had a ghost in the house. I enjoyed this sentimental story, but do not like or believe that the spirit of the lady who first owned the house still lived there. That is a cruel deception, but it was good to learn more about the history of the house and the town, but especially about Brad, who came to her rescue. The story is well-written, without any errors that I noticed. Enjoy!
The book I read was about Luke and Maddison. Not Luke? So I’m not sure where the mistake is but saw another reviewer comment this same thing so something must have gotten mixed up. I didn’t finish it after a few chapters. It’s probably an okay cutesy read but it just felt a little too straight forward and a little bland. She’s cute, he’s cute, she’s nice, he’s nice, they both like eachother, they already know eachother so we don’t get to see them meet. The writing is dual point of view so we know what they both think about everything all the time so no mystery there. I can’t even imagine what a conflict between them would be, except that they have a long distance thing possibly in the way but obviously there will continue being reasons for him to stay to help Maddison and then eventually he’ll just stay for good for her. I’m not compelled to keep going.
The Cartwright family had been torn apart since the tragic accident that had killed their mother. The six grown siblings had all gone their separate ways abandoning the home they grew up in. Wes was forced from his difficult long hours and stressful job to return to the home farm because of animals dropped and abandoned there. Felicity had a new boss and given furlough time to change her artistic style or be fired. She visits her sister in Montana that joins the Cartwright farm. Could Felicity and Wes convince his siblings to keep the home place or would it be sold? Would Wes return to his high stress job and would Felicity be able to meet her bosses demands or be without a job. Many events mold this story into a fun read.
The Cartwright and Sutter families are tied together, and not in a good way. All the Cartwright siblings have fled their ranch and it is about to be sold to one of the developers following the new ski resort nearby. Felicity Perez is a Miami artist, losing her commercial job to a ne wave of monotone graphics. Spending time with her cousin Cammie, she meets Wes, the eldest of the Cartwright siblings. They manage to reinvent themselves and each other, and a real deus-ex-machina saves the story and the day.
The review originally posted for this book was really a review of Saving Luke, but it appeared on both Goodreads and Amazon as Saving Wes. I have not read Saving Wes and have tried to correct my review although the listings are wrong.
Title was "Saving Wes" but it's Lukes story. 5 brothers one sister series. I've only read the one and I sure you will have to read all of them to figure out what really happened, a mystery. Short, sweet and descriptive writing. Montana looks beautiful in writing. Meh story.
The characters in this book are amazing their story warms your heart but it also plays on your heart string. I can't wait to find out what happen to the rest of the siblings as their story unfolds
i was expecting to read wes's story but it was lukes story plus in the sutter books they are cousins to cartwrights mistakes over wives and mothers names inboth series, very disappointing
This is a great story and perfectly written! This is the second book I have read from this author and both is absolutely amazing and I definitely recommend reading books from this author they don’t disappoint!
I can only say how much I wish I could have had a life like this, or at least similar. Still love Cowboys at 74 years of age. 😍 👵.. Now on to Asked story. 😁.
10th book I've read this year (February 2023) & it's definitely my favorite so far. It's cozy, sweet and clean, can't wait to read the rest of the series. 🥰
Wes and Felicity make a perfect team. I loved all of the many family members. This is my first from this author, but not my last! What a sweet, clean romance.
