I had a plan for my life and falling into bed with True Easton, the playboy guitarist of Shadow Phoenix, who had a different girl in his bed every night, wasn’t it.
After months of fighting my feelings and way too much to drink, I gave in to temptation, and it was hot as hell.
But going back to my regular life meant being a badass boss and never showing weakness -- and True was mine. I’d done whatever it took to earn my spot, and I intended to keep climbing until I reached the top. At least until two pink lines threw my whole life into chaos.
When I confessed my secret, I didn’t expect his reaction. If I believed him, I could have the family I never dared hope for.
It’s great to meet you! I’m a socially-awkward introvert who loves love stories. I’m not awesome at singing or keeping my house clean, but I somehow find the time to obsessively read romance novels. I consider it one of my many talents.
In my opinion, you can never have too many books (or french fries…), messy buns are a girl’s best friend, and I’d probably die without my laptop. If I wasn’t over-committing myself to future stories or procrastinating to meet my deadlines, I’m not quite sure what I’d do with myself.
Be sure to find all sorts of sneak peeks and my more than likely cuss-word filled rantings over on the blog. Oh, and if you’re a fan of getting in the mood to read and connecting to the characters that way, check out the playlists that accompany each story in the “Playlists” tab.
Too long No conflict Hero faked a relation with an actress in order to have more popularity and sell more records while his girlfriend (the heroine) was heavily pregnant. That’s a no for me. No man with integrity would do that.
There was almost no story here and A LOT of words.
What I liked: I really enjoyed the ow drama (especially when the ow gets what she deserves). I think Amara(h) was a great heroine and I liked how she stood by True(H) even if I wish she would have made him suffer for even agreeing to it. I enjoyed the part when True told Amara’s parents off and how the ow’s career went down the drain. I loved the friendship between Amara and Kennedy and how wonderful True’s parents were.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like how True just went to his friends house after what happen with the ow. He knew Amara would be upset and he doesn’t think to go home or at least call her to tell her what happened and where he was. He was the one that put himself in that position and all of a sudden he wanted everyone to feel sorry for him. After how sweet he was in the beginning of the book, it just went against his character. Also, Harrison was an ass to even suggest the fake relationship. He knew Amara was pregnant and that her and True was in a relationship so him suggesting a fake relationship made him a shitty friend (but I did like the ow drama).
***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: Ow drama. H and h had a one night stand at their friends wedding. The book starts with the h finding out that she is pregnant. She goes to her best friends house, who is married to the H’s best friend and band mate. H finding out that h is there goes to see her. h tells H she is pregnant and it’s his since he was her one and only. H is happy and after thinking about things decide to make their relationship work. H also decided to branch off on his own and make an album away from the band. Because H doesn’t have a huge following his “friend”/manager decide it’s a good idea to fake a relationship with an ow who is an actress. H goes and tells the h what the manager suggested and they both decide to let him do it. Ow is a mess and wants more. H gets a bad feeling but proceeds to follow through on the fake relationship. h goes back home because of her job. Two guys at her job give her problems but she tells them to stop. H comes to her and they decide to tell her parents that she is pregnant. They were not happy and H tells them off after h tells them that she is done with them. h goes back with the H to his place. Still getting harassed by the two guys, h finally decides to go to HR. Unfortunately her job finds out she is pregnant (from the two guys) and she is fired. h decides she will just stay with the H and work on her own website. H pissed about the two guys, decides to set them up by planting drugs in their apartment. Afterwards, they call the cops and find out that the two guys had a girl locked up in their basement (so it was actually a good thing H set them up and called the cops). During all this, the H continues to have a fake relationship with the ow. Ow kisses the H when H told her that he was not going to do that in front of the paparazzi. Ow also proceeds to get down on her knees under the table to try and give H a bj. H pissed tells his manager that he is done pretending. Manager tells H that the fake relationship is working with his fans and to give it one more week and to show up to one more premier. H agrees. Again ow tries to do more by sticking her hands down his pants while it being filmed. H upset goes to his friends house and proceeds to get drunk not telling the h anything. h wakes up not seeing H gets upset and goes into premature labor. Their friends finally get a hold of the H and he gets to the hospital. Of course h forgives him easily. Since H is finally done with the fake relationship ow tries to blackmail the H. When that doesn’t work, ow starts telling lies about H and tells the fans she is pregnant by the H. Ow runs into h and says some nasty things. H upset and decides enough is enough, proposes to the h and they get married shortly afterwards. H wants to come clean with his fans. h asks him to wait until after their daughter is born. Finally, they announce their relationship and daughter to the fans at his first concert. Ow lies are exposed and her career is ruined. HEA
Descriptive Sex: Yes
Final thoughts: This was my first book from this author and I definitely will check out more from her. I especially will go back and read Zen and Kennedy’s book.

I was loving this book til the suggestion that the only way for True to be successful solo artist was to date a drama queen actress!!! To do this while your girlfriend you say you want to marry is pregnant, is totally wrong!!! Especially with her issues!!! True could never redeem himself in my eyes for his selfishness... Tried to continue reading, but just hated True too much to finish...

This was really slow to start but Amara and Trues story was really sweet. I wish her family would have reconciled with her rather than just their bust up when they found out she was pregnant but I love how protective true is even if he does make stupid choices like listening to Harrison about lexi
This book had me from page one! I loved the previous book and this one did not disappoint! This series is awesome! If you want a book to keep you glued to the page and steamed up all over, here you go!!!!
The 2 stars are only because it was really getting good but 43% into it and the publicist tells True for his solo album to make it big he has to pretend to date an actress that said publicist is working for. True has a pregnant girlfriend who he supposed to be in love with. And he’s going to do it. Sorry not sorry but that is the most stupid selfish thing I can think of to do. It might get better but i dont know and I’m not wasting my time reading such bullshit. Amara needs to move on baby or not. Just him thinking about it is grounds for cutting ties with baby daddy. Bye and I won’t be reading the next 3 books either.
Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well. I'm not going to go into detail, no spoilers, just read the book if you are even mildly intrigued by the blurb. You'll thank me later!
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.

Although True and Amara have a dynamic relationship, punctuating every other sentence with the "F" word is tedious, boring and annoying. Both True and Amara speak with the same "voice" and women usually do not use that much unnecessary profanity. Not to mention how much it disrupts the flow of the story. 1/3 in, not sure if this book is worth my time to continue. DNF
Why on earth would a publicist suggest fake dating an unbalanced movie starlet as a way to promote your upcoming album? Dude is in a loving relationship with his baby mama and you’re going to suggest a fake relationship for months up till baby is born?
So what happens when you fake break up? Your fans and the world will just understand that while you were supposedly dating someone you also knocked up someone else and now youre marrying them?
And We’re supposed to believe the paparazzi didn’t camp out at his house during the drama and not catch his baby mama living with him????? 🙄
Also Dude never gets mad at his publicist friend over this stupid PR plan when starlet goes psycho and posts does bad things including publicly harassing his baba mama. mmc let’s PR friend get away with it says it’s ok and doesn’t make him fix anything till after his album releases.
So it’s ok for baby mama to stress, have early labor scare in hospital for mmc to be sexually assaulted in book more than once by starlet but not just fix it with simple press release? Ummmm fire your friend cause he sucks as PR rep…. Where in the real world does this happen? That’s right it doesn’t.
Let’s be honest, fans love someone showing off their baby mama, posting updates. That would have been great PR plan.
This plot line is acting like the book’s public at large is stupid and so are the readers of this book? Life doesn’t work like this plot line……
Figure out a better plot… a better 3rd qtr drama, try harder, take your time writing, try to see the world through your readers and society as a whole and say to yourself “would this plot line work in the real world?” or you’ll end up on a lot of “do not read this author again “ lists. 🙄
So the book starts off with her reading a positive pregnancy test. She was a virgin and had sex exactly one time, after her best friend's wedding.
The hero has been obsessed with her since he met her. She wouldn't give him a chance. He was shocked she wanted to have sex with him at the wedding. He has not been with another woman after he was with her, even though he has many opportunities.
Basically the entire book is the hero holding her hair while she pukes, him making her waffles for her pregnancy cravings, him telling her she's beautiful, her having "hormones" and needing the hero for sex multiple times a day, etc.
I had a huge problem with some of the plot. To sell his solo album, his publicist suggests he "fake date" a movie star. He talks it over with the heroine. She does not want anyone to know about her or the baby. She wants him to have his dreams come true.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
The "fake date" movie star starts all kinds of trouble. She tells people she is pregnant with the hero's baby and he wanted her to have an abortion. She claims he dumped her. So for months the hero and heroine are ignoring her claims in the gossip magazines and just focusing on their baby.
After the baby is born, the movie star goes to the hospital and claims she lost her baby. Hero eventually files a lawsuit against her. He wins. He marries the heroine and they have a baby girl named Phoenix.
I was just so angry that he agreed to "fake date" someone while he claimed he was so in love with her and their baby. Of course, his album sells very well.
The quality of writing here is below even KU standards, which is honestly rough. Conflicts are resolved in literally ONE SENTENCE. I don’t know what the point of literally any of this is because there are zero stakes. Every character talks exactly the same, from the rockstars to the FMC, raised by extremely conservative Indian parents. Ok, sure. The FMC and MMC already know each other before the book begins and we’re never really introduced to any other characters, they just…show up—EXCEPT for the FMC’s bff, who we learn likes to make up curses? Idk, it was very silly.
I can’t tell how old these characters are, but they *act* and *talk* like they’re approximately 15. Since the FMC has a masters and is in a leadership role at her job, I’m assuming she’s at least 26? Far too old to be acting like this and ESPECIALLY too old to associate with such silly people. How silly, exactly? Well, the MMC, at his big age (idk what it is but if it’s over 15, he’s too old to act like this) is REBELLING against his parents with a nose ring. Literally, the book tells us explicitly that his nose ring is an act of rebellion against his parents.
What else is extremely silly about the MMC? How about when he expresses the desire to be ‘in’ the FMC while she’s throwing up from morning sickness, even going as far as to detail how she’d ‘squeeze’ around him.
Anyway, he keeps calling her ‘mama’ and i don’t like that so I’m out.
Amara was raised by a nice traditional family which means you wait until you marry a nice boy before you hit the sheets. But wow two lines her life was all planned and this wasn't on it. True had been trying to get Amara's attention for what seemed like forever and for a moment he thought he had but now he's be relegated back to his corner again. However Amara's stunned by his reaction to her life altering news never once in a million years did she think he'd be jumping up and down with joy. I'll will admit my reaction to this next part had me gritting my teeth wondering why an intelligent man would allow themselves to suckered in the way True did after all he's in a committed relationship but then I also realize men are stupid creatures and in the end True proved just how stupid he could be by agreeing. Now if only he can keep his sanity while praying his relationship will survive this big bump in their story and not murder anyone.

Not a lot of conflict or drama like the last book, there were some good and funny parts in this.
I saw the whole lexi thing coming a mile off as it’s what PR managers do to get sales.
Amara was funny and laid back for most of this, she seemed to blossom once her parents were out of the picture.
True was always the sweet one, the one who was there for everyone and was true to his feelings. He obviously did a shitty thing by having Lexi in his life, but he was forgiven and lexi got a hard case of karma thrown her way.
Honestly nothing in this surprised me it was just 2 people who liked each other, one didn’t want to admit their feelings and then fate decided to drop a baby on them, they didn’t even really wait to rush into the relationship and nothing really tried to stand between them.
I loved how Maddox and True dealt with the situation of Amara’ Scott workers who harassed her.
Interested to see Maddox story as it should be different as he is the deep brooding and dark one
This book was great to read, Amara had a one night stand with True and finds herself pregnant a few weeks later. She’s obviously concerned at how he would take the news, especially as he’s a Rockstar, however, he’s delighted much to her surprise. Their relationship is sweet from the beginning and he’s very supportive. She has a lot to contend with, not just with work colleagues but also with parents that disown her, True really comes through and helps her to adjust. There’s quite a few twists and turns and one towards the end that l didn’t see coming but suffice it to say that justice was served to sine particularly nasty individuals. I liked how Amata’s friends rallied around her, especially when True was trying to break into the solo singer world. Excellent book with a fab storyline.

I really loved this book, it had a little of everything. It had a sexy handsome rockstar, guitar player of Shadow Phoenix. Even though this story starts out with a pregnancy which I usually hate, this story was good. Amara was Kennedy’s best friend and from the moment True met her he fell for her hard. On the night of Kennedy & Zen’s wedding, True and Amara got drunk and hooked up. That was Amara’s first sexual experience. When she realized she was pregnant it was on. The story is really sweet and romantic and I adored True. These two characters had great chemistry, off the chart hot. If you liked the book Suddenly Dirty by J.A. Low then you’re going to love this book. You also will love The Baby by Cian Ceinwen- it’s excellent. So this story has some unexpected things like a crazy movie star but it all works out in the end. It’s really a lovely story and I recommend it highly.
Very insta-love. Very repetitive. Low conflict, which I appreciated as someone who just wants to read fluff and smut right now and as someone who gets tired of overly manufactured romance conflicts. Could've done without the fatphobia, even if it was generally in regards to getting bigger with a pregnancy. And could've done without the weird fear of the Me Too movement ruining a reputation. And while I appreciate authors trying to write more inclusively, Amara being Indian felt like it was kind of shoe-horned in to explain why her parents were super traditional and wouldn't approve of the relationship - which was also kind of glossed over pretty early on in the story, and then everything about her family and her culture was just forgotten.
This was a nice read for a lazy Sunday afternoon, but nothing worth getting excited about.
I have been wanting to read a rockstar x baby momma book for quiet sometime already and I finally read one but it was like too quick. Their story was...good ig. But things were too repetitive, it didn't exactly show HOW they fell in love. The story was more like a LOONG epilogue. The development, actually there was no development. The characters had already "fallen" for each other. It was insta-love-like thinking about it. I hated that brat though. Damn. She just didn't get the hint. Anyhow, I loved the bonding between his family and her. They connected and became in love with her like before they even met her.
* This is the first book I read from the series and I sort of regret not reading Kennedy and Zen's one first. Maddox though? Oh yeah, he is so going to get eated up by me. It looks more intriguing.
I was ... not a fan of this book. The first one was decent but this one was not.
1) If you're going to include a storyline about human trafficking, don't trivialize it by making it like one paragraph long. Coworkers literally tried to human traffic her and all the characters ignored it and acted like it didn't exist. In fact, it disappeared right after that so there was literally no reason to include it and act blaise about it.
2) That whole fake dating/PR stunt just pissed me off. You're with someone and you feel like shit for even thinking about doing this but you still do it. And then you don't take actual measures to get her to stop ... like putting out a restraining order or something. GTFO.
This had so much potential to be a cheesy but good book. Instead, it was cheesy and anger inducing.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story of True and Amara! They were so good together. The tension was crazy, the aggravation was tangible, and the HEA was amazing! And the steam... let's not forget the steam!
True- the good-hearted boy of Shadow Phoenix- the crazy popular band, and Amara- the head-strong, determined working woman, shared a fun evening and got something they hadn't bargained for, but couldn't walk away from. This story shares their journey, tackling everything that comes along with True's fame, their struggles and rewards with their friends and family, as well as keeping Amara's wishes and goals in mind. I loved how this one played out. Recommend!
True love does not always come in the package you might expect it to. Amara had one vision of how her life would proceed and it did not include love with a playboy rocker. They might not have had a chance if they but an interesting turn in life gave them a chance to think differently about how happily ever after could be. Their story comes with some drama, he is a rocker. But loving True is worth it for Amara to find true love and family.

This is the second book in the series. It should be read in order. Amara is Kennedys bestfriend. And True is one of Zen's (Kennedy and Zen are from book one) after months and months of trying to get Amara to notice him it finally happened at the reception of the wedding. Amara always put school and work first. Also having very strict parents left her a virgin. So when after her one and only time having sex she ends up pregnant she is very scared. Not only of what her parents will say but also True. Nothing will prepare her for what's about it happen.
This book in the series was a little better than how these guys were starting out as far as True flat out was ready to love Amara. It was almost Insta love but he was the romantic one. Harrison disappointed me with his supposedly great Public relations idea. It was not a great idea especially for True. So the author irks me twice with people who should be experts....and really fail. Connor did it with security for Zen and Kennedy. Otherwise, its four stars...worth reading!!! Great characters who have grown up a lot from first book.

H almost gets a WILLING bj from his fake gf (OW) H kisses OW in front of paps OW sticks her hands down H’s pants and gives him a hand job
Oh and the h is pregnant with H’s baby while this is happening.
The H is very male/ peer validation centered and after he cheats on the h decides to go hang out with his friends and get pandered to and patted on the back for his cheating 🙄
This author is a misogynist. 🏴☠️ if you are curious about the story but don’t give her any clicks, attention, or money.
This is book 2 to the Shadow Phoenix series I hadn’t read book 1 but after reading this story I will be getting book 1 plus this is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and this is the story of True and Amara, I ♥️♥️♥️ this story it’s a very emotional story the characters had 🔥 chemistry with some drama and an unexpected pregnancy. This is my 1st read and review for this author but it won’t be my last and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Somehow nothing of substance happens and yet it does? The writing was mediocre and definitely could’ve done with another round of editing but what annoyed me the most was the lack of character depth and personal growth. No one ever got mad or had any real emotion outside of complacency and when they did, they just magically got over it after talking it out for two sentences and it was never brought up again.
2.5 Stars Just ok for me. True is the guitarist for Shadow Phoenix and another great guy deep down. I guess because the books in this series are heavy on romance that the author had to get creative in attempting conflict. Unfortunately for me, it seemed too far fetched to be believed. The dark and mysterious Maddox is up next but not sure I am up to continuing right now.
