I never asked to be born a part of British royalty. When I left my old life behind, I broke a thousand-year tradition and became the black sheep of my family.
Now I live how I want, free from the weight of the crown. When the guys of Shadow Phoenix throw an unexpected challenge my way, I willingly jump in without hesitation—until a tiny spitfire of a woman throws all my plans into chaos.
Bellamy Frost’s cheeky mouth and soft curves are a recipe for disaster, one I can’t let throw me off my game. More than both of our careers are at stake, but keeping things professional may be beyond my capabilities. Freedom comes at a price, after all, and this time the cost may be too high.
This is the final book in the Ruined Rockstars series.
THIS BOOK WAS PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED UNDER THE NAME "TEMPTING HARRISON"
It’s great to meet you! I’m a socially-awkward introvert who loves love stories. I’m not awesome at singing or keeping my house clean, but I somehow find the time to obsessively read romance novels. I consider it one of my many talents.
In my opinion, you can never have too many books (or french fries…), messy buns are a girl’s best friend, and I’d probably die without my laptop. If I wasn’t over-committing myself to future stories or procrastinating to meet my deadlines, I’m not quite sure what I’d do with myself.
Be sure to find all sorts of sneak peeks and my more than likely cuss-word filled rantings over on the blog. Oh, and if you’re a fan of getting in the mood to read and connecting to the characters that way, check out the playlists that accompany each story in the “Playlists” tab.
I absolutely loved the story of Harrison and Bellamy. When the world seems pitted against them, the strong and sexy Harrison, and the witty and determined Bellamy learn what it takes to get them through the obstacles in their lives, not only together, but also individually. I loved Bellamy's sass and attitude- perfect match to Harrison's alpha wit. This was the perfect ending to the Shadow Phoenix series, though I'll admit I'd love to have more! Highly recommend this read!
Harrison’s book wasn’t one I was really looking forward too. You’d think we would have heard that Bellamy’s dad was his boss in the other books or we would have seen the way he looks at her in previous books, especially since she has been on the scene since Jericho and Moon’s book.
I think because she didn’t have a relationship with her dad this didn’t feel like such a taboo thing, there was never really any ‘threat’ that came up, and when the threats did come up they were dealt with straight away. Plus they didn’t include the band to help resolve the issues like they did in all the other books so I was disappointed.
They got together too fast, even after everything Harrison confessed too, Bellamy just rolled over and let him in.
Archie was funny and I loved the whole drag queen issue, but I thought it was horrible their dad was only proud of Harrison because he helped Archie out.
I felt this was a bit juvenile, which I guess it was because most of the people involved were only 18. Sometimes it was a bit creepy hearing Harrison talking about how he had feeling for her from around 16-ish.
We never really saw anything about the resolve in the copyright issue or her dads company getting taken down. We really should have seen the new PR manager too. And did they win both Grammys ? So many questions and no real answers.
I’m sad this is the end of the series because I desperately wanted to see Montana’s story and she’s the only one really left out now. We are going to see Connor and Ronin’s stories in the bodyguard series but I haven’t heard anything about Montana and that’s sad she is the only one who has been left out when she was a huge part of the series.
Pros: Writing was almost intriguing and the world had the potential to be interesting (but I'm probably just a rockstar romance fan in general)
Cons: This book didnt really have any plot to it. No "shape" if you will. Events just happened and at no point were the stakes that high.
The couple got together too fast and too easily even though most of the internal monologue with Harrison was creepy because he would over emphasize how long he has been into Bellamy even though she just turned 18. There were some serious ick moments there with how vague he was about how long he has been into her while also being incredible present in her life from the age of 8. Its feeling groom-y.
The bad guys were comically evil and very unintelligent.
The trajectory of the main band's career was incredibly unrealistic and practically fantastical.
But at the end of the day I can get through a lot of faults, but the characters being 2 dimensional with no real development of feelings or reasoning behind those feelings, other than shes hot and feisty/ hes hot and british, leaves me wishing I'd saved my time for a different book.
I gave the author a second chance and was beyond disappointed again. How can a taboo dads best friend book be this boring. He betrays her in the worst way stabs her in the back and she rolls over and instantly forgives him. And him what kind of a man at his age of being well into his thirties just destroys a young girls career and does everyone his boss says. He is pathetic for going along with his boss without a back bone or any warning to her. She should have fired him the second she found out he had cancelled her interview. In business you get one strike and then for the good of the band she should have fired him.
I read this under the original (?) title of 'Tempting Harrison' and uhhhhh this is the kind of age difference story that is not for me. I really only read it because I wanted to finish out the series.
The fact that they knew each other and were in each other's orbits when she was a kid and he was an adult doesn't sit well with me. And then the whole, oh but she's eighteen now, it's cool, like... I know he's not lurking around, waiting to pounce on her the second she turns eighteen, but there's still something about it that just doesn't work for me.

The last book of this series Harrison is the band's publicist and his boss seems to be an Ahole. This book didn't do much for me. I didn't like his relationship with Bellamy, i usually don't mind an age gap but she is only 18 and is just starting to be an adult so I had a hard time with this one. And what father wouldn't want their daughter to be the best she can be and support her? This book was my least favorite of the series. I am sorry to see the series end as I want to know more about Grayson and Quinn.
Once again, another winner by Heather Ashley! I loved, loved, loved Bellamy. She is feisty and fun! Harrison is also amazing and I couldn't get enough of Atticus, Archie, and Lennon. They are loveable side characters that bring a lot of fun to this book. I loved following Bel and Harry's (hahaha) relationship. There's plenty here to keep you interested throughout the whole book. Lots of romance, angst, and of course sexy times!
Shadow Phoenix series ends with a bang! Loved Harrison throughout the series, and that little temptress Bellamy. She’s eighteen going on full adult. Harrison is an honorable man, and although tempted, wouldn’t cross lines with her until she was of age. The age gap here was never squicky. I’m sorry the series is over. End notes make it sound like we’ll read more of this group in future. Which will be welcomed news.
Wow. As a Shadow Phoenix book this was a bit disappointing as there was very little of them in the book, however, that aside, this was amazing! I absolutely loved Bellamy and Harrison, and the chemistry they shared was off the charts... a little skewy about the fact that she was so young when he began to have feelings for her and that he was kind of family to her in many ways... but still... hot and steamy and a great read!
This one was definitely great, as all in the series have been. I’m sad though because I feel like there are more HEA’S I’m desperately craving. Grayson, Quinn, Atticus, Lennon, Violet & Archie all need their stories too, so I HOPE the author reads this and goes…Hmmmmm. Looking forward to SO much more! I’m all in for the Hollywood Guardians though because Connor was most definitely on my list of wanted HEA’S. I can check the bodyguards off my list now! YaY!!!!!
This story was not only about a rockstar romance but also included a large side dish of intrigue. The culprits are very close insiders which makes trying to understand motives a little hard to take. Again, very strong and focused female with possessive, yet devoted partner ... swoon!
I will edit when I finish but so far I’m not loving how Harrison is just going along with all of this. I also don’t mind age gap but the fact that he’s know her since she was a literal child and acted as a backup father figure and also had feelings from her when she was still underage gave me the ick. I love this series so far but this book isn’t the one for me so far.
The first 3 of this series were great. Also, liked 5. (Playing Jericho was a little too dark for my taste) I just couldn’t get into this one. The age gap was definitely a factor....but their story didn’t really hold my interest either.
Tempting Harrison is the last book in the Shadow Phoenix series. Heather does it again with this riveting story of friends to lovers. Harrison is a man that unfortunately listens to the wrong person. He knows what he is doing is hurting the one person that he secretly loves, but his boss is his boss. He is responsible for promoting bands/singers but when Bellamy's band is on the table he doesn't. When the boss tells you to shut her down you listen, well because 1st he's the boss & 2nd she is his daughter. Bellamy just wants to sing and have that one true love. The problem is her one true love is much older and works for her dad. She has problems with one band member who happens to be her ex. What happens when Harrison & Bellamy act on their urges? Will Bellamy ever find out what Harrison was doing to her & her band? How does Daddy deal with everything? I have read the whole series and each book gets better and better as you go through the series. The plot has twists and turns at ever corner and is gripping right from the start. The development of the characters and their chemistry is what makes you not want to put the book down. Heather definitely has you wanting more as you read through this book. I am sad this is the last one in the series, but I'm hopeful that she will be writing more books in the near future. Heather is one author that should be on everyone's TBR list.
