Rejected Riders #1

Falling for the Enemy Alpha

Rate this book
She’s forbidden and I rejected her. But my wolf has other ideas . . .

I know Jess is different the second I lay eyes on her. For a human, she has one hell of a beautiful left hook.

Falling for Jess is the last thing I need. Our pack is on the verge of war with the grey wolf shifters and the rivalry between the packs dates back hundreds of years. A distraction this gorgeous is dangerous, but Jess is like no one I’ve ever met.

Then I find out why—she’s one of the greys.

They say rejection stings. Well, betrayal hurts more, and I’m going to make sure her pack pays.

The only solution is war, and my wolf is ready to fight. But when I discover Jess is already promised to another who plans to show her no mercy, my wolf can’t be controlled . . .

Seduced By The Enemy Alpha is the first book in the Rejected Riders series. It's about Jess, a wolf in the Gray Pack and Tex, the alpha of the Black Pack. The packs are longtime enemies, and lately the Gray pack has ramped up hostilities. Jess has hated being a member of the Gray Pack for a long time. As one of the unmated wolves she is forced to work in the clubhouse, tending bar, cleaning, cooking and trying to avoid the advances from the men.

Jess meets Tex one evening but she knows he's the enemy of her pack, so she tells him a lie to protect herself. She didn't expect him to pursue her, but he does and so begins their love story.

I really liked this one. It's interesting, fast paced and filled with danger, action and a bit of mystery. It kept my attention from beginning to end. I liked Jess for Tex. There was a part of the book that really bothered me though. One character had an extreme reaction to another character but not long after they had a change of heart. I felt like one, the extreme reaction went too far and two, the change of heart was too sudden. I didn't think it should be smoothed over so quickly. Besides that, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I look forward to the next book in the series.

I would recommend Seduced By The Enemy Alpha to fans of paranormal romance.

This was a great series opener that had great characters that were strong, alpha, or full of sass ;) I found the plot fast paced and definitely filled with danger, action, betrayal, some mystery and a fight for love. It really kept me glued to my reader and I loved seeing Jess and Tex come together.

Jess grew up the daughter of the Grey packs former alpha. She was home schooled & rarely allowed to leave their home. After his death she is forced to live in the club house & work the bar. She is treated badly. As she has no scent & can not shift she is believed human. Tex is Alpha of the Black Pack. The two packs are sworn enemies as the old Alpha ( Jess' father killed Tex's father ).
Out walking one night Jess hears a woman's screams & rushes to help. The woman is being attacked my two men. Another man also comes to help & together they save the woman & return her to her home. The man is Tex. He can't get Jess out of his head, nor the fact that she has no scent ( even humas have a scent ). He ends up searching for her & the two start to see each other ( though Tex has no idea who Jess really is ).
Theo is the man who killed Jess father & thus now Alpha of Jess' pack & intends to mate with Jess who keeps resisting him.
Jess has no idea who her Mother was but assumes she was human, hence why she is not a shifter. Tex is torn when he realises Jess is his mate. When he finds out who she really is he rejects her. Theo discovers she has been seeing Tex & beats her to within an inch of her life. I will say no more as I don't want to spoil it but I will leave you with questions: Will Tex & Jess overcome their differences & get back together? Why doesn't Jess have a smell?
Overall a really good story but sadly as seems to be the case all too often the book was spoilt by grammatical errors & poor editing. Hence the 4 not 5 star rating. Go read it!

Life in the Gray pack is hard for former alpha’s daughter, Jess Miller. She looks, thinks and acts differently and she has no scent. It’s worse under new alpha, Theo, who keeps watching Jess who status sinks to bottom of the pack while he directs pack activity to dangerous and illegal depths for his master plan. Most of all, Jess’ wolf hates having to back down instead of fighting.

Walking home one night, Jess ran to help a woman in distress but she wasn’t the only one. Gray pack’s rival and nemesis, Tex Jones, Black pack alpha, was at her back. Sparks fly when their eyes meet but Jess lies about who and what she is partially in an effort to shoo Tex away. The pair sneaks to see each other and soon recognize their true mate bond.

With supernaturals on the verge of war, truth about Jess couldn’t be exposed at a worse time and Tex sends her away in anger. Tex has been using his pack and strength to create allies among humans, other species and smaller packs, Theo went the divisive route with the same species to rule them all. Tex needs to concentrate on war but all he can think of is his rejected mate. His strong wolf mate; his mate that lied to him; his mate whose father killed his own.

NOTE: Title was later changed to "Falling for the Enemy Alpha" instead of the title found here.

Jess and Tex's Story . . .

Jess Miller, a female wolf in the Gray Pack, is stuck in a pack who had been secretly drugging her all her life. She wants nothing more to do with them. The alpha thinks he owns her and they treat their females badly. But she has never had any interest in any of them. So when she met Tex Jones, an enemy alpha of the Black Pack, she falls for him because it feels right. She lies to him about being human, and other lies as well, but a blood sample shows the truth. And Riley, the second-in-command pack member, told Tex that Jess had shifted into a wolf from the Gray Pack. Finding out her true identity, Tex rejects her, now knowing her father had murdered his father. When he confronts her, she can’t deny it and she runs from the pack and her fated mate. Has she escalated their hostilities into war now? Will she survive with no place to run?

There are still surprises coming in this story line, so grab your copy and see how broken-hearted Jess will survive what’s going on. And perhaps she will learn the truth as secrets are discovered.

Tex never expected to meet his mate when he walked into the bar that night. Beaten and bloodied, Tex tasks his pack into watching over Jess and vows to protect her. Jess, who has always believed herself to be a mortal human, is both terrified and intrigued. She hasn’t had any good interactions with shifters in the past, but she is drawn to Tex in a way she doesn’t understand.

Their chemistry ignites and soon they are giving in to the passion between them. Tex and Jess grow closer as their connection deepens. But there is still the threat lurking in the shadows. An unknown enemy stalking them and just waiting for the chance to strike. As Tex sets out to find the answers he needs, he uncovers a shocking betrayal that rocks him to his core and causes him to lash out and send her away.

Why is Jess being hunted by his kind? Why has Jess been being drugged? What does their connection really mean? With war looming on the horizon, who will make it out of the battle alive?

"I knew it worried her when my inside opinions slipped outside of my mouth."

Jess has always felt alone, like an outsider in her own pack, but accidentally meeting the Alpha of a neighboring pack leads to one troubling discovery after another.

Tex is his pack's Alpha, and he leads them on an honorable path, defending others, protecting the weak, and caring about those around them. But Jess opens his eyes to a blind spot he never imagined he had.

This stand alone kindle unlimited book is an intense read as loyalty and pack comes front and center. There are some questions Jess has long wanted answered, and there's a whodunit feel to breadcrumbs in the story, information being found (or not), and at the moment of the big reveal, it feels genuine, right, and earned.

This is marked as book 1, and I'm definitely interested in revisiting this world with hopes Lilly gets a book, and I wouldn't mind Kate finding a better life thanks to the actions of Jess and Tex.

Tex meets his mate in a bar, but when he finds her she is beaten and bloodied. Tex arranges for his pack to look after Jess and he vows to protect her. The more time they spend around each other, the more their attraction builds until they give into it. But what happens when Tex finds out that Jess is from a rival pack, will he be able to get past the betrayal he feels and be there for Jess when she is in danger again.

This is a shifter fated mates romance story. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

this fast-paced shifter story kept me glued to the pages. Jess and Tex are rivals from different packs. Jess is scorned by her pack and is made to slave over its pack members something she hates. She meets Tex one night and lies to protect herself, but his wolf knew that she was theirs. This story is filled with exciting twists and turns that had me cheering for Tex and Jess to get their chance for a happily ever after.

Jess is the former alpha's daughter, she has always been different. The current alpha of the gray pack wants her as his mate. She hates him.
Tex is the alpha of the black pack, when he meets Jess his senses start to push to see her. The electricity between these two is amazing.
This book has it all shifters, MCs , rivalry, betrayal and impending war. It is exciting and I couldn't put the book down. I needed to see what happens while sitting on pins and needles to see what would happen when Theo finds out about Jess and Tex.

The story sure run me in circles. I was hooked & needed to find out more as I read. Tex is a true alpha but I sure was happy to have slapped him for the pain he put Jess through. Jess was pure spunk, sass & bravery. What an incredible story of love, betrayal, the fight for love & pack. All the mixed species brought so much into the story. Excellent read!.

From enemy packs, Texas and Jess are suppose to depise one another. Fate has a different idea about these two. Jess is a powerful wolf with no scent, she's different and her pack dislikes her. Tex is the alpha of his pack. He protects those that are weaker ,but he'll let nothing stand in his way as having Jess as his mate. There's plenty of danger and drama and hot steamy time.

This was an interesting beginning to a story where Jess meets Tex one evening and things heat up and go sideways. Problem is that they are from rival MC gangs and packs and things are going wrong and war is brewing. Lots of action, danger, crazy characters and that pesky war coming. Lots of different creatures and Jess and Tex were an interesting couple. A bit of mystery and suspense add to it all too.

Beautiful

The world this author wove is not only intricate, it was also full and beautiful! Absolutely loved this book! The history and plot twists kept me on my toes. However, the twist of her parentage was pretty easy to pick up on earlier in the book, actually reading about it was something new, horrifying but beautiful and different. Definitely a good read! Can’t wait for Riley’s story

Good

Jess and Tex are both wolf shifters. When they cross paths neither realize at first they are enemies. He's the alpha of the Black pack and she's a shiftsrof the Grey pack. A pack she wishes she wast a part of so lies to Tex. What will happen when he finds out the truth? Can these two get past it? Will there be a HEA?

I almost always love shifter books and Roxie Ray is one of my favorite authors when it comes to shifters. She is a great story teller and this book is no different. Tex and Jess are great characters and I loved reading about them. Another one out of the part for me by Roxie Ray.

Action, action, action slow and fast for all levels of the book- steam, aggression, love and mistakes to be worked out and made up. First in the series. Looks good! Spicy, Alp- up and ready to go! good read.

Tex and Jess' story is so good. The love they share could be felt through the pages of their story. There was never a dull moment. It was hard to put down to sleep at night. I kept turning pages.

Really EXCELLENT 😁

This story was definitely different, with so many nasty things that beat you down 😕. But she found her forever even if she almost died to get it 😃. Awesome story and well worth reading 😊. Thanks Roxie, I truly look forward to reading more 🤓.

kept me riveted!

Jess’s story was awesome. I loved her metamorphosis. And all that “babe” talk was sexy as hell. The cover did imagery did not prepare me for how rich and deep these characters were, or how much I’d like them.

A Turning Point

I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of drama, suspense, and action. The trauma was tastefully written with care. Excellent reading.
