One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, USA Today bestselling author, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life. So she made a quick decision to quit her job and reinvented herself as a Naughty and Nice Romance Author.
Reader, Writer, #WalterThePuppy Owner, Dark Chocolate Lover, Ice Cream Worshipper, Vodka Aficionado, Coffee Drinker, she believes coffee and ice cream should be added as part of the USDA food groups.
This is a second book in the Billionaire Baines Family romance series and follows Ravina Baines as she sets her sights on freedom, a career and one tall, dark and dreamy man; unbeknownst to him of course.
Gabriel Knight, a sexy, rugged and irresistible British guitarist, singer and budding artist. Well, according to his newest neighbor, Ravina.
Gabriel's character is much more than being deemed Mr. Grump though keeping his brother ants and feelings to himself, with his focus on his daughter, Juliette. Plus, his heart split in two between being a musician and artist. Needling him and meddling in his affairs concerning his daughter. Delving deeper, this is not just about the romance, but about serious issues too. Family dynamics, child custody cases, and finding yourself, becoming your own.
Serious side and then the romance side: Spicy bedroom scenes, comic relief with fun banter as they figure out if they can be just friends or friends with benefits as he shies away from relationships.
For those readers just jumping into the series of Baines Family standalones, there are enough snippets riddled throughout to understand their family dynamics. However, reading the first book would greatly give the bigger picture 😘
I’ve been curious about Ravina Baines since we first met her. If you’ve read the previous books in this series, you know she comes off somewhat detached and haughty for lack of a better word. But as we get to know her a little bit in her brother’s books, she’s not the person we think she is and it was beautiful to see her transition to a woman that loves her family and especially her niece… this comes into play a little bit with Ravina and Gabriel’s relationship.
Gabriel Knight is the British singer and artist and his life is less than perfect. He’s really quite grumpy and not neighborly so when Ravina becomes his neighbor and she’s determined to be in his life because she’s intensely attracted to him. Problem is, Gabriel has so much going on in his life, including the custody of his beautiful daughter Juliette that Ravina is not on his “to-do” list!
I have to give Ravina credit though. She’s finally becoming who she’s meant to be both personally and professionally and watching this transformation was like a butterfly hatching from its previous life as a caterpillar. Along with this blooming, she goes after what she wants and that’s Gabriel… she just keeps forcing her way in until he just can’t avoid his attraction to her. And these two are sizzling hot. Oh and some of their verbal repartee is phenomenal.
Needless to say Ravina and Gabriel are actually perfect for each other even if it doesn’t seem like it. I loved their enemies-to-lovers story and how their relationship progressed through the book. There’s great family interactions from the Baines family and the love Gabriel has for his little girl is everything! This is a perfect addition to this series.
A true enemies to lovers romance with a real grouch of a main man. No matter how hard Ravina Baines try’s to win over Gabriel Knight, he remains a grumpy pants. He has no interest in relationships, or women in general, all he wants is to get custody of his daughter, to play in his band, and to paint. His nosy neighbour though won’t leave him be, always up in his business, she’s persistent alright. It takes a lot of time, a cute niece and a fist fight for Gabriel to finally come round, and guess what? When he’s not at odds with the world and walking round with a permanent scowl on his face, he’s quite a nice guy. In fact he’s more than a nice guy, he’s perfect in every way. A heartwarming and emotional romance with some super sexy times (of course, I mean, he’s an Adonis after all). Lots of family drama, and some fun time to boot. An enjoyable and entertaining read. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
The second Ravina spots the singer at her brothers wedding, she is attracted to the mysterious, British man. It turns out he is also her new neighbor. The man is an artist, a grump, and a single father. Gabriel is hard working, he loves his art and is fighting to get his daughter. His new nosy neighbor is constantly pushing all his buttons.
I loved Ravina and Gabriel’s connection. They were neighbors and really couldn’t stand each other. I love that Ravina never really backed down when it came to Gabriel and continued to push him and get him to spend time with her. Things progressed into something more over time and I loved it. Plus, the support that Ravina gave Gabriel when it came to his daughter, I loved it.
I absolutely loved Ravina and Gabriel and I couldn’t put this one down. I can’t wait to read Landry’s story!
If you’re looking for a single dad, enemies to lovers romance this is one to check out.
Ravina sees Gabriel at her brothers wedding reception, and feels an immediate attraction to him. She quickly realizes his broody personality isn’t so attractive. Soon, they find themselves in the company of each other again, where Gabriel continues to be a complete jerk every time they are around each other. Gabriel tried to resist her, to run her off, but Ravina slowly works her way around his defenses. Gabriel is struggling with some personal baggage, and Ravina is determined to help him. I absolutely adored the grumpy, bossy, alpha jerk, and Ravina too. A great storyline, super hot sexy times and lots of Baines brothers! I forgot how much I love overprotective Stanton! I was disappointed that the hit and run accident wasn’t a larger part of the story. I really wanted to know who was responsible. Still, a job well done!! Cannot wait to read about Landry!
Gabriel only has room in his life for one woman and that is his daughter. Although he is determined to distance himself from Ravina she is slowly breaking through his walls and has him wondering is she might be the exception to the rule.
Ravina was drawn to Gabriel from their first meeting and finding out he is her neighbor has her convinced they are meant to be. She isn’t about to be dissuaded by his surly attitude and is determined to support him through all the challenges that he is facing.
Gabriel is going through a difficult time and doesn’t need any further complications, but Ravina shows him that they are much stronger together than apart.
From the moment Ravina sees tall, dark and sexy singer Gabriel Knight she instantly drools. From afar the man is what dreams are made of but when she ends up moving in across the hall from him, he ends up being a crass and unapologetic grump. With grit and determination Ravina breaks down his walls and the two embark on a wonderful romance. But can Gabriel overcome the hurt from his past and start anew with Ravina? Or will his past ruin any chance at a HEA? With great characters and a storyline that kept the pages turning this was an enjoyable read.
Give me more of the tall, dark and dreamy please and thank you. Gabriel is broody, aggravating and I want to place a claim. Ravina is fierce and independent. These two are a match made with sparks that ignite when they are in the vicinity of each other. I love this family and catching up with everyone. You will laugh and fall in love all over again with these characters. One click this right away.
I just love Ravina and Gabriel. Their story is a mix of the best tropes IMO (by that I mean they're my favourites). Though Gabriel was not interested in having any kind of relationship with the other gender after what happened with his ex, the sparks between them just fly off-the-charts. It kind of started one-sided, but Ravina is a very determined woman. And I don't always like that kind of female MCs but it works for the two of them. I really enjoyed their story.
This book is definitely sexy with beautiful characters that makes you fan yourself while reading. As always love it and a big fan of Ms. Hargrove’s work.
OK, so one thing that you need to know about me is that when I love someone, I love them for life. And this lady has a special place in my heart. I've had the chance to be with her in person on a few occasions and I feel it wasn't enough time, so I'm hoping that she considers coming to my country for a few days... Hey, a girl can dream. A.M. Hargrove is not only an amazing person but also a spectacular author. Her books are so sweet with a touch of hotness in between. Just go read her books and get ready to be amazed. Tall, Dark and Dreamy is her latest release and it's the second book from the Billionaire Baines Family novels. But one side note. This series is going to be about the Baines siblings. But to fully enjoy this book, read it in this order. For The Love of English, For The Love of Easton, Tall, Dark and Bossy, and then Tall, Dark, and Dreamy. Just go for it and you'll see why. This new book explores the lives of Gabriel and Ravina. Gabriel is the lead guitarist and singer of a band. But that's not his only passion. His other love was to create art and he's achieving success. He's a closed-off man that doesn't want to mingle or have small talk. He's in the middle of a custody battle, a very ugly one but he will do everything to be able to be with his daughter. When his band is invited to play at a wedding... Ravina is a firecracker. She's feisty and tells what's on her mind. When she sets her eyes on Gabriel, it spiked her curiosity as well as her desire. But can they be an item? Seriously, this was the book I needed at the moment and when "The End" appeared I was sad. So sad. I wanted more. Stellar plot, is well written, super sweet, intense, and engaging. There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone silly, jeez, stubborn much? I understand that a bad relationship can make you want to avoid it altogether but why don't you open your eyes and see what's right in front of you? The way the story progressed left me wanting to keep reading and reading. I didn't wanted to stop for anything and when someone interrupted me I was so freaking mad. The characters worked perfectly with each other and it was amazing to get glimpses from other characters from previous books. Books you must read. Easton kept stealing my heart, and Juliette was there as well. These two little girls were adorable. I loved this book so much and I'm sad it's over. Now I'm here sulking around, waiting for Landry's book. What an Epilogue... Another great book A.M. you nailed it once again and I need more... Like right now...
i think this author's books are getting a little boring for me...
the execution felt subpar, and pretty narrated. the hero went from being an asshole to not-so asshole and back to asshole again, like can you make up your mind what kind of hero you wanna portray??
as to the narrated part, parts where i feel it should have been written out with more details (eg: the custody court case between the hero and his ex) was just briefly explained and sweep under the table. parts where it totally feels redundant was written out in details, pff~~~~
also, the hero and heroine started out as some kind of friends with benefits, so the sudden turn around to the "i love you" doesn't feel right somehow or other, like it totally lacks the development path from fwb to a proper relationship...
additionally, the hero was being disowned by his father because he wasn't keen to join the family business but when he invited his parents to his wedding, they attended??? it doesn't make sense somehow, like where is the link? from being disowned and not talking to them, and wanting to bring the heroine to his home country to introduce her to his parents, to them attending his wedding... did i miss anything because something is not adding up... like come on, seriously????
so far, i am totally not impressed by the series. hence, probably not gonna continue it, and i will stop reading this author's book because it is making me lose interest as of now.

Whoa ... Gabriel and Ravina's story is heart-wrenching and steamy and funny ... all at the same time. Gabriel's backstory broke my heart on multiple levels. No one should endure what he went through, fictional character or not. Ravina, on the other hand, is the light to his darkness, and thanks to her perseverance, she keeps him from drowning in his negative emotions and lets him see the silver lining. I loved all the characters, main and secondary, but especially the children with their little quirks because they lighten up the story so much. This suspenseful story kept me on the edge of my seat and had me turning the pages as fast as I could read because I just HAD to find out what was going to happen next.
I love this series. I'm so glad it's Ravina's turn. She went from someone we loved to hate to someone we just loved. We she sees the dreamy guitar player at her brother's wedding, she had to meet him. When she moved into the condo across from him, she thought luck was on her side. Until he showed her the writing on the wall. He was dark, broody and a jerk. Gabriel does not know what to make of his new neighbor. She is little miss sunshine and he has a lot on his pate and wants to be left alone. If course the best laid plans never work. Ravinia is tenacious and starts breaking down his walls. This book is whitty, sexy and has our favorite precocious chld Easton. What more could you want in a story?
singer, painter, songwriter, events coordinator, self-love, self-discovery, single dad, single parent, family found, steamy, wealthy heroine, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, British accent, childhood trauma, family drama, marriage, parenthood
Loved this book. Loved Mr grumpy Gabriel Knight with all his attitude and dirty mouth. New book boyfriend. And then I loved miss stubborn and sunshine Ravina (seriously not common name) too. Though their relationship felt like it moved so quickly I was really entertained by their banter, fights, and their falling in love with the other denial.
I mean if the name alone isn’t intriguing enough than I don’t know what to tell you. Because I mean the band had me interested right away. Then I found it was an enemies to lovers romance I was sold. This is Ravina and Gabriel’s journey and all I’m going to say about it is. That you must grab it and read. It is a great heartwarming and emotional romance with some very steamy moments. Plenty of family drama to keep you interested. And lots of entertaining fun times throughout the book. Definitely a must read and a highly recommended book.
TALL, DARK, AND DREAMY by A.M. Hargrove is book Two in the Baines Family Series. This is the story of Ravina Baines and Gabriel Knight. Ravina first sees Gabriel at her brother's wedding where he is a singer. Ravina later finds out that he is her neighbor and starts to try to get to know him. But, Gabriel is a grumpy man who has no interest in doing a relationship. Gabriel's focus is on getting his daughter, the band and to be a artist. This starts their story and I really enjoyed it.
First off my favorite Easton was back you have to love her she’s adorable. Ravina has truly grown to be independent and my goodness Gabriel is just how do I put it at first misunderstood hot Brit until you get to know him. But the two are meant to be like cookies and milk or cake and ice cream. There back and forth her determination and persistence and his protective shield he had up was for sure to crack. My opinion I loved it and was another great read from A.M. Hargrove. Please keep them coming. I can’t wait for Landry’s story. 💕
Interesting perspectives on troubles of belonging to a wealthy family. The pressures to be what the parents want and/or living with the consequences of tragedy. She is ready to break free of family home and business to start her own business (which will be referred to but nothing indicates any clients). He left his family in England for his art and music. His wife left him, taking his daughter. He wants daughter in his life. This is an interesting study. It has a lot of very specific kink sex. I skimmed it.
I don’t even know if I have the words for this book…it gave me severe whiplash! Everything moved so quickly, Gabriel hated Ravina then he couldn’t stop thinking about her then he told her to back off and leave him alone then he’s madly in love with her plus he was such a jerk!!!! I get that this was a Grumpy/Sunshine book which is one of my most favorite tropes but add all the back and forth and I just couldn’t get into the book!! I almost DNF’d it a half a dozen times…
A tale so charming it'll make your heart do somersaults, this family saga serves up romance like a five-star chef dishes out gourmet love. Buckle up for a weekend literary romp that's sharper than a comedian's wit and lighter than a soufflé of pure entertainment.
This book is a non stop adventure and love story! Kept me up at night because I couldn’t stop reading it! The originally grumpy artist/musician, Gabriel, is eventually pulled out of his misery by Ravina a rich and successful wedding and event planner. This book is a must read for lovers of romantic adventures.
When Ravina spots Gabriel singing at her brother's wedding, she falls for him, but he is reluctant to get involved. Part of a series, she is the only female of a wealthy family. Complications arise from an ex-wife and a custody battle, and bossy brother. Quite enjoyable.
There is nothing about this author books that I don't love and this book just proves that. Come and let A.M. Hargrove lead you on a journey with another member of the Baines family that you will always remember.
I was drawn into this story. I enjoyed the banter betweennRevina snd Gabriel. These two are perfect for each other. The road to their happiness wasn't easy but all of it was worth the struggle they had to go through. Oh and cute Easton she was so adorable.
I throughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It had the right a amount of steaminess, intrigue and I loved the characters. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
Too much detailed sex scenes for my taste. Also, I didn’t like the big time jumps. Ending was super rushed. I would have liked to see more of their relationship developing and them getting to know each other.
