Ha sido un buen tomo. Iba con Tesla a tope y sigo apoyándolo pero...
Veo muy complicado que esta batalla la ganen los humanos. Belcebú está tochísimo.
Ahora ya no puedo odiarlo. Antes me daba grima Belcebú pero después de su historia ya no puedo.

Dévoré en un clin d’oeil, ce tome bascule un peu les schémas narratifs de la série, tout en nous confortant dans ce qu’elle fait de mieux : un duel entre deux êtres que tout oppose : un démon de la pire espèce et l’inventeur de la lumière pour tous !
Pour une fois, avant même le combat, les auteurs nous entraînent à la découverte de l’un des duellistes, en l’occurrence Belzébuth. Avec lui, c’est sombre, c’est macabre et que c’est triste ! J’ai beaucoup aimé cette plongée dans son passé et la réécriture d’un personnage culte de la mythologie par les mangakas. Ce n’est pas innovant mais que c’est pertinent. Ils reprennent des éléments que l’on connaît bien pour les détourner, les assembler et créer quelque chose de totalement inédit qui fait sens et bouscule. J’ai beaucoup aimé sa destinée à la Dr Jekyll et Mr Hyde.
L’enchaînement sur le match n’a même limite presque plus d’intérêt après cet épisode si riche et si fort, mais on l’accueille quand même avec plaisir, surtout que face à lui, il y a rien de moins que l’inventeur de l’électricité pour tous : Nicolas Tesla. Ombre et lumière, un schéma qu’on connaît bien mais qui fonctionne toujours. Nous sommes avec avec le mythe face à la science et c’est lumineux à suivre. Échanges d’opinions, philosophies de vie différentes aboutissent à un combat percutant et comme toujours dynamique, mais en plus original, puisque s’adaptant aux particularités de chacun. Belzébuth/Satan joue des vibrations de sa sombre âme torturée, tandis que Nicolas est en mode Power Ranger. C’est assez savoureux.
La mise en scène se veut assez classique dès que le duel s’engage. En revanche, ce sont tous les à côtés qui m’intéresse : discussions off, design des pages de chapitres aux allures mythico-steampunk, et bien sûr émotions que cette rencontre va faire émerger, car assurément Belzébuth, l’écorché vif, ne va pas en ressortir indemne, je le parie. Nicolas essaie déjà de le secouer et ce n’est que le début.
Reprenant mais pas tout à fait la même sauce qui a fait le succès de la série, une fois de plus les auteurs font un petit pas de côté pour adapter leur contenu et leur méthode aux personnages mis en avant cette fois. Sous le charme de la tragique histoire de Belzébuth, je ne peux que me laisser séduire par son combat électrique face à Nicolas Tesla. En espérant que la lumière finisse par le toucher !

I’m dropping Record of Ragnarok. This is the worst manga I’ve ever read.
Tournament arcs are usually my absolute favorite parts of manga and anime. The Dark Tournament in Yu Yu Hakusho, the Chunin Exams in Naruto, or Battle City in Yu-Gi-Oh, I love all of them. So when I heard about a manga that is entirely a tournament from start to finish, I was excited.
Sadly, this series completely fails to deliver. The biggest disappointment comes from the characters themselves. As someone who enjoys mythology and history, I found the portrayal of gods and historical figures shallow and often completely disconnected from their mythological counterparts.
The fights, which should be the heart of the series, are incredibly repetitive and boring. There’s no real strategy, tension, or clever use of abilities.
I almost never DNF manga. It’s easy to read, and I usually don’t mind pushing through weaker stories. But this was simply too much. I honestly should have dropped it much earlier.

So far, 7 matches have been completed, and the humans now have one more win than the gods. For the 8th match, Nikola Tesla has been chosen, while on the gods’ side, it is Beelzebub.
We get to see some compelling backstory for both fighters, which adds more depth to the upcoming battle. I had heard that this is one of the most iconic matches in the series, and now I can clearly see why. The theme of curse power vs. science makes it especially fascinating.
I genuinely felt bad for Beelzebub, as he was unable to have any friends and had to spend his life alone. Whenever someone got close to him, he would transform into Satan and end up killing them, which made his story quite tragic.
The fight is getting really interesting now, and I’m excited to read what happens next.

Since this is the beginning of a new round, it is a bit slower than the previous volume. The previous volume revealed that Tesla and Beelzebub will fight in the 8th round. Tesla wears a massive armor and boasts his science powers while Beelzebub is mysterious and many of the gods seem to hate him. Then, his backstory is revealed and I have to say it's very interesting because they made some significant changes regarding Beelzebub, Satan, Lilith etc. After that, the fight officially begins and it was good overall. I especially liked the ending of the book. In 3-4 months we'll see if science or magic wins this one.

Żarty o pierdach przy takim temacie... I zrobili z Tesli gundama, co za żenada.
Nie do końca rozumiem, czy on jest taki potężny, że nikt nie dał mu rady czy akurat osoby, które mogą go pokonać/zabić, jako że są mu bliskie i vice versa, tego nie zrobią. A tak w ogóle to chcę dodać, że skoro chłop dąży do śmierci, to nie starałabym się aż tak bardzo, by ten boski pojedynek wygrać, może by ta dziwna magia zwana nauką by go ukatrupiła.

Empezamos la octava batalla de una manera distinta. Empezamos con el flashback de uno de los combatientes y la verdad que fue un buen cambio. Belcebu resultó ser bastante interesante y su historia bastante trágica. De Tesla no sabemos tanto pero me cayó simpático. Ambos combatientes tienen una buena cuota de carisma. Pinta que va a ser una pelea bastante copada de leer.

A really great start to the fight as we get a really interesting backstory for Beelzebub as I do like that they combine both the original Baal the demon Beelzebub as it makes sense historically. The fight so far is pretty good and I love the contrast for both characters. As Tesla is shown to be a brilliant optimist while Beelzebub is the demonic pessimist and it works really well.

I believe this series has gone too long for its own good.
The novelty has been lost on me and while it still manages to give some sort of interesting backstories, the idea of keeping one guessing if the gods will win or if mortals will die is no longer engaging.
