reo and nagi's development is probably one of my favourites. both together and individually, they've grown so much and just seeing the way the play during matches is incredible. reo's ability is also my favourite, lol. but also, i kinda feel like reo is giving up his goals and dreams for nagi. the way the dream changed so drastically doesn't really sit right with me. i don't want him to give up just for nagi. they are amazing as a duo, but i just don't want them to overshadow each other when they can be such great characters on their own.
oh no, i fear mankisser city are gonna lose. stop putting football in my yaoi manga!
but seriously. reo and nagi. they’re so toxic and codependent, but at least reo was happy now that nagi came back to him. he was smiling. he even called that big greedy seal “my treasure” again. when i catch you, seishiro. (UPD: i just found out that “my treasure” was translated into german as “mein schatz”. is it gay to call your friend like this? i think that’s a yes).
it was painful to see that scene where nagi’s fire gradually died out. like, i know that from this moment on, everything will go to hell. little fool, think faster. your ego is right there next to you. it’s not just about beating isagi and it never was.
reo and nagi’s friendship is one of my favorite things in this manga.
“ever since you invited me to play soccer… i’ve always been with you.” stop i’m going to cry ❤️🩹 ILOVETHEMILOVETHEMILOVETHEMILOVETHEMILOVETHEMILOVETHEMILOVETHEMILOVETHEM
i honestly feel so blessed to see my fav duo figuring their shit out 😭 i’ve only been waiting…idk like 15+ VOLUMES for this!!!!!
ALSO BITCH THAT CLIFFHANGER THOUGH
i swear is isagi doesn’t score in this next volume IM GOING TO THROW HANDS-
That one toxic couple that gets back together easily the moment the other coaxes the other after being in bad terms for a period of time; that is Nagi and Reo. It's lowkey funny to see Reo wavering the instant Nagi says the slightest bit about them being together again. All of his efforts trying to be independent being pushed aside just because of his treasure. But in all honesty, Nagi is lowkey the one who's more into Reo. He's just having troubles communicating and Reo is susceptible to misunderstanding, so yeah. And it's even more funny when you think that they will be undergoing another break up soon, haha! I love them so much!
Il duo Reo - Nagi è inarrestabile. Nagi rimane nella mia triade dei preferiti, ed è una goduria vedere queste partite. Forse questa è quella che, in questa nuova fase, mi sta divertendo di più.
Look, I understand Isagi is the main character. And thus, his grow will be slower than the side characters, who seem already 10 steps ahead of him. And that’s where the issue comes. He seems so far behind everyone else because despite gathering small bits and pieces after each game he is still not as good as the rest. Or, for a lack of better terms, his ability of scoring and being a “good player” comes all from a shoot of luck and a bit of extra thinking. His physical abilities are in a normal range, no where close to people like Rin, Reo, Chigiri or even Bachira.
Reading 6 chapters back to back of Isagi trying to level up, but ultimately failing to do so, not only it’s extremely repetitive but also frustrating. The story feels stuck. You either level him up or he is good as gone.
Moreover, this volume was absolutely, ass. One way to destroy Reo’s character and the development he made. In whatever way you wish to see it, Nagi and Reo’s relationship always had romantic subtones to it. Their pull and push feel like the one of a toxic couple who has no boundaries. Once again, after Reo had made his mind up, here comes Nagi stealing his spotlight and making him his dog. It’s such a shame. Because his character is pretty much reduced to A) pretty rich talented boy or B) Nagi’s shadow. That’s it. He has nothing going on for him but that. It’s always “I need to level up to show *nagi* that I am better than him” or, even worse “I’m going to work to make *nagi* the best in the world”… I BEG YOUR PARDON? WHAT?
We just got a glimpse of what his capacity is. What he can archive if he pushes himself into the full “blue lock egoist mode” and what do you do? Bring him back to square one? Stop making them depend on each other.
That aside, Chigiri, I absolutely love you. He keeps slaying while looking pretty as always. You go king. 💅🏻
This series gets cringier with every tome ngl. The cheesy one liners paired with this constant idea of consuming each other (in a sports setting, whatever that means) is getting somewhat old and overdone. The art work is still cool, but it's getting so edgy I might accidentally cut myself with the plot.
Blue Lock at its best easily. We have everyone adapting their dreams, goals, and ambitions to the next level, whether it be Reo, Nagi, or Isagi. We see new abilities learned, new techniques employed, and the rise of new stars as the Blue Lock players assert themselves. Fantastic volume, Reo, Nagi, and Isagi were really the stars.
