From USA Today Bestseller Holly Mortimer comes a small-town, second-chance romance sure to make readers swoon!
Thirty-eight years old, and moving back in with my parents. That's definitely not the path I saw my life taking.
Unfortunately, I'm out of options.
Divorced, broke, and trying desperately to launch my career as an influencer, I just need time to get back on my feet. Of course, at this low point in my life, fate decides to kick me while I'm down. Who should appear as soon as I pull into their driveway, but Everett Malone.
Ex-best friend.
Mister sunshine and roses.
The town's hot as hell mayor/ lawyer.
The last time we spoke he was dumping me at prom. I need to focus. To get my life in order. But one look at him with that sexy suit and a smile, and I'm officially influenced...
Travel romance writer, Holly Mortimer, will transport you to the shores of romantic Ireland, where you'll lose yourself inside the drama and the love that is The Murphy family. From oldest to youngest, these five siblings fall in and out of love, travel the Irish countryside and learn that loving someone, doesn't always go as planned.
Holly transports the reader into her world, filled with travel, babies and lots of alphas!
Eleanor, freshly divorced and running her own business as a social media influencer, decides to leave LA and her ex (who trashed her credit and spent all their money) for home, at her parents' house in Canada. Upon arrival, she sees that her old neighbor Everett - now the mayor and the town's lawyer - still lives next door. She finds him to be supremely frustrating, and he draws out her competitive side like nothing else.
She wants to spend her time focusing on herself, expanding her business, and healing from the divorce, none of which should involve the aggravating and sexy mayor. Of course, she lives next door to him, and they have a lot of history, a lot of unfinished business. Can she sort everything out, build her brand, and overcome the vast debt she was saddled with? Will she repair her relationship with Everett?
There was a lot to like in this story; a lot of spice, some laugh out loud moments, and likeable characters. However, it felt a little unfinished. There were characters like her brother, who was mentioned once or twice, but didn't really play a role. There was her business that she spent the entire book obsessing over, only to completely abandon it in the end. The epilogue was great for showing her growth and the engagement, but there was absolutely no mention of her social media. What happened to it? If she left it by the wayside, or outgrew it, at least tell us that.
I liked it enough to find out how everything played out, but I don't know if I'd seek out more books by the author. Maybe. I'm pretty forgiving and would probably give her another chance, hoping for growth and improvement in her writing. I guess it's a good story, I just needed a little more. Canada sure sounds lovely, though.

Super cute story that will have you smiling at most parts. It was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely one to check out if you like a good story and some romance.

Thoughts :
- Loved Larry. So cute!
- Liked Ellie's parents but wish her mother could be a bit more understanding and think before she actually speaks.
- Wish I could know what Everett was thinking.
- The steamy moments started off hot like the mood seemed just perfect. However, when they were doing the deeds if you know what I mean😉, I just did not feel the attraction or connection between them at those times. It was like someone else was writing that part. At first, I thought it was just me. But as I went deeper minus the pun, I felt the same. So maybe it was the way the author actually wrote? I don't know. But I think writing steamy scenes are not everyone's forte. And that's okay. The washroom moment, damn! Both the moment and mood were hot but still, I just did not feel it. I think the writing of these steamy moments could have been improved a lot. Also, the pattern and wordings were annoying at one point.
- I liked Everett and Ellie's long heart-to-heart talks. I think it happened a few times. The biggest one was after the first time they had dinner together.
- Kudos to the proposal Ellie got.
Overall, I really enjoyed it minus the bedroom moments. I mean I am not gonna lie, I was afraid when I started this book. Because I did not find any reviews or ratings on Goodreads. But I am so glad that I gave this book a chance. Worth it.
