DICE
There was only ever one woman for me, but I was forced to leave her behind when we were just kids.
Years later, my past collides with my present, and it leads me right back to her. But a long time has passed, and she’s had years of her father breathing poison in her ear.
But I won’t give up. After all, my birth name, Malachi, means ‘prophet, messenger of God,’ and I have a message to deliver, but it’s not from the good Lord above.
Astraea is mine, and I’m coming for her.

ASTRAEA
I remember him as a scrawny, messy-haired boy. Now, he’s a fully grown, beast of a man with arms strong enough to save me from my hell.
But leaving everything I’ve ever known is scarier than he thinks.
As the namesake of Astraea, the virgin goddess, I was raised to believe they need me to bring justice, innocence and purity. They need me.
But Dice comes for me, convincing me there’s more to this life than what they’ve taught me.
Just when I’m starting to see the world through his eyes, they find me.
Dice was right, but now it’s too late.
I belong to The Circle, and they’re not letting me go without a fight.

*This story contains triggers involving a religious cult.

I wanted to love this book but somthing was missing. I think it was the romance element I never felt any love, chemistry, any feelings really between Dice and Six. I also felt like this had very little romance in it and basically focused on bringing down the cult.

I also had issues with Six. I understood how she grew up but I never felt like she was brainwashed just in denial. I started to get annoyed because anytime she was presented with proof of what was happening she would think Dice was lying and making it up. Heck her oldest friend showed her physical proof and confessed what happened to him and she called him a lier. She also jumped to conclusions and ran away without talking to Dice, which led to some life altering consequences.

So all in all I'm a little disappointed with this book but will continue reading the series.

So Good!

Dice has loved Six since they were kids and he is determined to save her. Once she is recused from the Circle she is not sure what to believe.

This book was a emotional rollercoaster with some dark elements. But through it all Dice is determined to free Six and give her happiness.

I still love crazy Rosy

Wow just wow. I didn’t see this book coming but so glad I read it. You hear about cults and you don’t totally grasp what they are all about but I feel like the author gave us a very good insight into what goes on. I couldn’t imagine the research that went into this book but I’m so glad she spent the time and created this story. Six and Dice’s story is not for the faint of heart. This book should have all the trigger warnings so just be aware that it’s not just a simple love story. But none of Nicola’s books are so…… if you are looking for a book that will knock you on your bum this book is for you! Get it!.

Dice and Asterea

Both were raised within a cult that was far darker than anyone could imagine. Dice ran away when he was a young teen leaving behind the girl that he had never forgotten over the years. He’s searched for her and now has an in and is trying his best to break her away from her deranged father and try to show her what is really happening with the cult.

What a great read that made it a one sit read for me. It was full of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I loved the connection that Dice and Asterea had and the loving patience that Dice showed to Asterea. This is another winner for this author.

3.5 stars. I started this series a long time ago, but left off here. Definitely one of this author's better MC books, but you'll still be seeing the H do shady shit around other women while proclaiming his love for the h. 🙄 The MMCs here were cult victims. While the H Dice/Malachi escaped when he was young, the h Rae was in until 25. With the help of some insiders in the cult the MC breaks her free, but they had to go up against all her brainwashing she had, so it wasn't easy to break her indoctrination at first. Overall it wasn't the best I've read, but for this author it was really decent.

This has been a pretty good series. This story is about Dice & Astrea. They grew up together and he’s loved her forever. When they get separated, he comes back for her. She has a lot to work through, she doesn’t know what to believe. This book has lots of twists in it. A really good book.

I love Nicola Jane and this series is one of my all time favorites. However I do not like the religious cult trope so I didn’t love this book. Nicola weaves a great story and writes well developed characters so if you enjoy religious cult tropes I highly recommend this book!.

Better than I expected

I liked the story in general, and I love the MC found family relationships.

Although I am glad there was no real outside the relationship sex or cheating, I don't like that the stuff with Josephine (but I liked how he handled it for the most part). I really didn't like his attraction or attention to the barmaid or him considering sleeping with her. I didn't like Rosey flirting with him. I generally like her, though. She's pretty funny.

He kept saying he loved her the whole time, so why did he sleep with other people? When she asked him how many times he's done that, he should have said zero because if he loved her, he would not have slept with other people or done those very intimate things she was asking. He kept saying it's always been her but then admitted more than once to sleeping with others in his narrative. In a romance, neither main character should be with anyone else after they've met and there should be no flirting or attraction to others during the timeframe of the book. No cheating and outside the relationship sexual contact of any kind or it's not really a romance.

I would have given it a 4 star rating if he hadn't been with others or been attracted to the barnaid or turned on by Josephine (even though he rejected her).

Book five in the The Perished Riders Mc. Nice comes from a evil cult he got away from. Now he bumped into someone from his past. He’s ready to set her free. The only problem, she doesn’t see the evil of the cult. Now Dice needs to open her eyes and hope she chooses him. Another great story.

Nicola Jane writes some awesome MC books and she proves it again with Dice from the Perished Riders MC series. This book had it all. Violence, Trauma, Love, Loyalty, H.E.A., Betrayal, Death and Trust. We learn more about Dice who does nothing in life without rolling his dice first. He was raised in a religious cult until he was shunned. He found a family in the Perished Riders and learned what the world is really like, not just what the cult forced everyone to believe. But in leaving the cult he had to leave behind the girl he was in love with for as long as he could remember, Astrea. When she turns 25 her time is up and Dice knows he has to save her from them and the fate they are forcing on her. The cult always moves around so not to be caught and when they show up in London he does everything he can to get to her. Even befriending an old friend that he had when he was with them who wants to save her as much as he does.
When he finally gets Astrea to the clubhouse they all learn how badly she had been brainwashed from the cult into their beliefs. Things have happened to her to enforce her beliefs because if she recognized the truth it would crumble her. She's done nothing but live a quiet, complacent life so not to cause the wrath of her father. She was just trying to survive. She knew there was a fate awaiting her when she turned 25 but she didn't know all of it. The cult were criminals just like most are but hid it from the women behind their beliefs and teachings. Astrea has a hard time adjusting and figuring out how the real world works. I felt for that girl, truly. They had her all screwed up but with Dice by her side she could survive anything. Not saying Dice doesn't screw up at times cause it's Dice. But he does finally put his dice away at times and goes with his gut feeling and what he knows is right. Even throwing himself to the wolves to do anything he can to save Astrea. Luckily for him he has the club, his brothers at his back and with them he can do anything. Just like Astrea has the girls of the club that start to show her what life is really like outside the cult.
Overall I think Nicola Jane did really great, especially when I read this is the 1st time she's written about cults in her story line. I think she aced it. Dice got his H.E.A. that he and Astrea have deserved their whole life and with it being together made it even better. This book can be read as a standalone but if you want all the backstory on the characters of the club I'd definitely start from the 1st book in the Perished Riders MC series. I can't wait to see what she comes out with next for us to read.

Dice: The Perished Rider MC Book #5 by Nicola Jane is a dark, disturbing, violent romance story that begins with Dice and his obsession to save Astraea/Six who he grew up with when he learns she will be the next victim of The Circle as these Lords torture, abused and sacrifice young women through lies and manipulation.

Dice/Malachi left The Circle years ago when his mother was targeted by the Lords for her sin as he witnessed the Lords abusing young women through sex when they are drugged and put to death to appease the God they worship. Years go by as Dice was unsuccessful to find Six, he became this over the top dangerous member of the Perished Riders MC who became his family. Dice never forgot the young girl that he was forced to leave behind, now the time has come for him to get Astraea/Six before she is sacrificed. Dice uses a pair of dice given to him by his mother which he uses to dole out punishment to his enemies as well as making decisions for his club and himself. Once he is able to kidnapp Six he is faced with a defiant young woman who has been brainwashed. Dice has to make her remember their time together when they were young as well as her antagonistic behavior towards her father and The Circle. Little by little he explains to Six everything she was told was a lie and that her life is in danger by the Lords and her father as she is the chosen one. This story was intense, dark with plenty of angst and steamy moments between Dice and Six when she learns the truth from the young women Dice and his brothers rescued from The Circle about the horrors they endured. With Dice's help along with the ol'ladies from the club Six is experiencing the wonders of being free and experiencing everyday life and all the joys of the outside world. Soon due to a misunderstanding Six will leave the compound with her friend Cam aided by a young woman whom Dice and the club rescued only to be betrayed, now she will experience loss and extreme violence by her father and brother . The horrors Six endures only made her stronger and determined to save herself as she takes matters into her own hands. When Dice learns she has been taken, Dice with the help from his brothers come up with a plan to save Six during the religious sacrifice and take out The Circle. Nicola Jane has given us an ending that will have you on edge, it was dark, gritty and violent, but in the end true love will overcome all the evil surrounding cults and the innocent people who get hurt.

Dice's book starts with a threat. You find out very quickly that Dice is on a mission to find a woman. This is not just any woman. This is a childhood friend of Dice's that has been stuck in the cult they grew up in.

Dice discovered that his friend, Astraea, has been selected to start ceremony training. It is considered a great honor within the cult, but the reality is much darker in reality.

Dice knows he has a short period of time to get her out of the prison the cult has created around its members. When push comes to shove, Dice is willing to sacrifice himself for her. He breaks her free from the cult, but her doesn't realize all that she has become after he left the first time.

She doesn't want to believe her life has been a lie. It takes Dice, Cameron (friend who escaped from the cult) and the rest of the MC to help her as she assimilates to life outside of the cult.

Of course, in an MC, things are never that simple. The cult wants Astraea back and they will stop and nothing to get her back.

This book is heartbreaking as you learn what Dice and Astraea had to go through. The action and suspense keeps you on your toes to the very end.

I enjoyed this story and have to give Nicola credit for coming up with a story so unique to the MC world. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Nicola Jane puts her own spin with the MC and cult to create such a great story that had plenty of action and twists. Dice was born into the cult life but escaped when he was able to be killed off. Growing up he never forgot Astraea who was also in the cult, now that he's part of the mc, he has more resources to finally save her like he always wanted to. When he does end up saving her with the help of the mc, he has a tough time trying to undo all the brainwashing that's she's grown up knowing. The relationship between this couple is really good to see as they both try to connect with each other even though there's a lot of trouble that's surrounding them. I love that Dice is patient with Astraea and wants what's always best for her without pushing her limits. Astraea comes out of her shell and has more of a bite to her when she's with the club to grow her independence. The mc is very involved in this story, so to see how close they all are is very warming. Also who could forget Rosey, the author added her into the right moments in the story that really stood out and made me love her character, so I hope to see more of her.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Dice has a history with The Circle. A cult that does horrible things. After escaping and growing up, his thoughts turn to the girl he could never forget, Astraea. She is the daughter of The Circle's leader.

This book deals with brainwashing in addition to horrible abuse. If you have triggers please read the warnings. Astraea is a product of brainwashing and doesn't want to stay with Dice, even if it is for her own good. She is resigned to her fate. It is best to read in the series order.

The story moves along and you will be turning pages to see if Dice can win Astraea over. The brothers of the MC are throughout the story to support Dice. While I enjoyed the story, I didn't feel as involved with this book as I have in the rest of the series. Nicola Jane does MC books well and I got very invested in her characters. I did find the book an interesting read that I wanted to read and will recommend.

This was a fast paced, dark, steamy story of lost love and redemption.

Dice escaped the cult after his mother was taken from him, but he learned the truth over the years and he vowed to destroy those that took so much from him and still believed they were above everyone else using their lies and their power to keep their sheep in line.

Astaea was raised by a monster to be the woman a man can depend on to do as she's told, but when she finds herself in the real world and the world as she knows it comes crashing in around her, there's only one man that can save her and protect her, but she thought he was the bad seed for so long she has a hard time reconciling who this man is now.

I loved this story, it was dark, gritty, action packed, tragic, and oh so good. Dice is a determined man that knows that Astraea has always been his and he will keep her this time, but he will have to get to her before the her life is tragically destroyed by those that were supposed to protect her and keep her safe.

Dice - The Perished Rider MC
@nicolajaneauthor

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

The 5th book in The Perished Riders MC series is the story of Dice and Astraea and what a book it is.

When Dice was thrown out of The Circle at a young age he vowed to himself he would return for Astraea. So when he comes back into her life she wasn’t expecting her life to be turn upside down and everything that she believes in to be a lie.

Astraea goes through a lot and you do feel for her, but you also feel for Dice having to live through what they did.

We are gutted this is the last book in the series as we really enjoyed every single one of them. Would love to have books on some of the other brothers. Fingers crossed it’s not the end.

Definitely recommend reading this series and we will definitely be reading the authors other series.

Happy Reading

I love me some MC Romance where the MMC is a former cult kid who either ran or was booted. Dice is that MMC in this book, and he has loved Astraea since they were rebellious little kids stuck in the cult. Dice (so named because he always carries this pair of dice with him, rolling for all decisions) and the club are going after his former cult kid, the Circle, which has alarming practices towards women. They rescue Astraea, who doesn’t want to be rescued, and put her in intensive therapy to get her past the brainwashing and mindless obedience. Because the Circle has plans, and Astraea is next.
I’d give the book a 4.5. It’s because the side members of the MC don’t, IMO, get enough page time or development to make this a true 5 star book. However, the main characters exhibit growth, so kudos for that.
Book contains NO CHEATING, although SA is discussed/implied.
Heat, about 1.5 chili peppers, with EXPLICIT sexytime.

This book had some many twists and turns. You are brought into the book and you feel like you can see the book playing our infront of you. I loved catching up with the club and also seeing a few surprises that came alone the way. Ms. Jane did an amazing job with giving us Dice’s story. A departure from the norm but no less worth the read

Another enjoyable read in the fantastic series it hit different and whilst dark, is dark in different ways.

The one thing this series has delivered so well is a diversity of characters, of storylines and of tropes within the MC genre.

Cults being the main theme here, the story covers this topic well. In depth but with feeling, the experiences of the characters are used as a launch point for danger, intrigue and romance with the brotherhood of the mc as strong as ever.

Great characters, Astrea/six is delicate yet strong in an understated way and Dice has oddities about his personality which endear him to you so much.

Worth the read and I’m excited for the next in series.

I loved Dice and Astraea's story. Dice (Malachi) is a member of the Perished Rider's MC and he is trying to get Astraea away from the cult from which he escaped when he was younger. She is coming of age for the ritual in their cult and he needs to get her out with some help. He needs to rescue her and show her the cult and its beliefs are wrong. Will he be able to show her this foreign world is the place to be or will she want to go back to the only world she knows in the cult? I don't want to say too much more and spoil the story for you.
I received an advance copy from Booksprout to do my honest review for NNBB. If you love an MC contemporary romance you will love this story of Dice and Astraea.

Dice & Six

I smiled, cried, laughed, yelled, and almost three my tablet across the room. Dice and Astraea. Astraea grew up together and had a very special connection. When events forced him to leave her behind the cult they were in turned her against him. He returns for her, but they are gone and he lost until he still an old and with his help rescuers her. Their story has so many twists and turns. I loved that he called her six and going on this journey with them as truths were revealed and their feelings for each other were made know. Six was stronger than she realized and I loved seeing her grow. I loved catching up with the club. This book has all the feels and I can not wait to see what happens next.

Dice was raised in a Cult, but after the murder of his mother, he escaped and managed on his own unil old enough to enlist. He then joined the MC. Decisions are made on the roll of his dice. His major plan is to find and save Astraea, his long life friend in the cult.
Through a unexpected encounter he reconnected with Cam and to Astraea. Things are difficult as she does not believe him, engrained in the cult life and beliefs. Her life is in danger and she acts recklessly ignoring the obvious and denial of her circumstances. Her recapture puts everything and everyone in front and centre of the cult's intentions of revenge and retribution.

Blew me away

Be warned though, this book is not for the faint if heart.

I Absolutely loved Dice's book, it had me feeling every single emotion. When I tell you this book is a rollercoaster of drama I'm not exaggerating.

I wasn't expecting Nicola to go the cult route but I am so glad she did.

It's kind of a slow burn that starts when Rea and Dice are kids, but Dice sees The Circle for what it is a sick cult. So he did what he could, he left and found a real family with hopes of saving his friend and the girl he has always loved, but at what cost.

Rea has learnt to be a good daughter, and followed all the rules so that when she turns 25 she can fulfill her duty to the Lord's, The Circle and her father, bit what she doesn't realise is that it's all been a lie.

Dice and Astraea's story is kind of a difficult read. It delves in to being raised in a cult and the consequences of that. I know these things happen and I'm not foolish enough to think it's not often because I'm sure it's more frequent than anyone realizes. All the same, the things people do in the name of faith is sickening sometimes and Astraea's father is just that, a major sicko. This couple doesn't have a very easy path to their hea but Dice is diligent in his quest to help "Six" find her true potential. This story is about betrayal, deception, truth, trust and love. It's an excellent, page turning story that will have you on the edge of your seat.

I can understand that this story took a while to write. The background on Dice and Astraea. It’s some heavy stuff! But as always the men on motorcycles do everything for their lady!
The smut is well written, Nicola writes so you don’t wanna stop reading. The side characters are also amazing. You get to follow main characters from other books as a side in this. I love it!
To come out of a cult like Astraea does is not easy, your entire way of thinking is questioned. It takes time to heal and Dice sees and knows that. I love that he puts her first!
Now I want Tatts or Roseys story soon!.

Talk about one sick cult. Both Dice and Astraea grew up within the cult as friends who were always looking for a way out until Dice just left one day never to be seen again. Astraea was brought up to be the perfect sacrifice not really knowing the extent just thinking she would marry and live in relative peace. Little did she know the depth of depravity her family will go to until she is reunited with Dice and he and the club will stop at nothing to rid the world of this cult.
Loved Rosey and her constant bickering and popping up wherever Dice was, slowly getting to see the real her and she is growing on me after hating on her.

Now, the group she resides with wants to complete their plans for her….led by her father. Dice has to stop it, before its too late.

Wow!! This was one of the best stories I’ve read! I never thought that this particular topic would be something I would want to read….and was a little hesitant to start this story because of that. But, sooooooooo glad I did!!! This author makes the situation so believable, makes you empathize with the characters, makes you feel like you’re there!!! Her depiction of Astraea was spot on….and Dice is the best!!!! Excellent, incredible read!!

This is book five in this series and I really really need more! Told in first person POV by the main male and female characters. I just love how much Nicola is bringing awareness to the less talked about issues in our world.

I love how Dice makes his decisions. I love how Astraea finds her inner strength when she truly needs it. The chemistry between these two is so steamy. Their love and journey to their HEA was suspenseful, questionable and long overdue.

These side characters just keep getting better and better. I seriously hope there are more to this series because there are a couple characters that I really hope get their HEA!

Another great Perished Riders MC story of Dice and Astraea. A tough story involving a bad cult, I'm not really into cults. If it was another author I might have chosen to pass on this one. But Nicola approaches each plot hard and fast .
Dice and Astraea grew up in the cult but Dice got away when he was young. Now he found her and with help, gets her away. She's been brainwashed and it's a tough road getting through to her. Of course, she's in danger still from her dad and brother and the cult. This is a dark story of evil, light because of Dice, scary, eye opening for Astraea and so much more.
