A random St. Patrick Day meeting between a commitment phobia woman and a serial womanizer leads to a quick, hot hookup. Ellie just out for some fun and Reese all about adding to her rep of fast shags in restrooms. Fast forward a year and St. Paddy's Day is here once more. Reese and Ellie bump into one another in a bar once again- is fate playing games??
Shannon's sizzling tale has a chance meeting growing into more as time goes by.

St.Patrick’s Day magic

Ellie and Reese have the same idea about not wanting a relationship. They hook up and are very good together, but never exchange numbers. They meet again a year later and their connection is undeniable. Reese has been in a very bad relationship before and trust is hard for her yet with Ellie she is so comfortable. The heat between them is so sexy. I really enjoyed this low angst holiday romance .

My major issue with this book was the writing was bad. First of all, whoever made this author afraid to use contractions needs to apologize. The lack of I’m, Can’t, We’re, etc. made it feel chunky and not how normal people speak. There were also a few grammar errors I noticed, the major one being “her and I” when it should’ve been she. I also hate it when books clearly try too hard to be trendy and funny, so the “the moon is in gatorade or something” line, gave me the ick.

There was so much repetition in this book! There is no need to switch perspectives if a different character is just going to say/feel the same thing that we already heard from the other narrator! I started skimming this book about 30% in, as I found most chapters started with the same points the last one ended with.

I will say the spicy scenes in this book were pretty good and frequent. Comparatively, the plot just felt forced and unnecessary, specifically the drama with the boss/dress. I’m usually not one for a book that’s porn with out plot, but I almost wish that’s what this book was.

Reece and Ellie's story is incredibly charming in its serendipitous nature. While the relationship development could have been more robust, I found the story enjoyable. It also contained several steamy scenes that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I particularly appreciated the portrayal of Ellie as a plus-size woman who embraces her body with confidence. It was refreshing to see Reece appreciate and love her for who she is.

This story starts quick and dirty in a bathroom bar.  A year later it starts back up as something more.  I love that this author normalizes therapy and doesn't make it seem like as soon as you find "the one" all your issues vanish.   Reese and Ellie are great characters. It was good to meet new ones and catch up with old friends as well.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I found the book started off a little vague in regards to Ellie’s relationships. There just wasn’t much story there at all, and I wish there had been more time spent on developing them. There also wasn’t much backstory to the main character or love interest. I would have loved to know more of their stories. So I found it a little lacking in character building overall. I absolutely loved the vibe between Ellie and the love interest. It was kind of meet cute, but not. The book had plenty of spice factor, that was written well. I overly enjoyed the story and felt the emotions as the characters experienced ups and downs. As someone with anxiety, I appreciated how that was handled in the story. I love that we got an epilogue and how the story came to a close. It was an enjoyable read and not emotionally heavy.

I received a copy of this book on book sirens to review, but my thoughts about it are entirely my own and I have not been paid in any way for my review.

'Lucky to Be Yours' by Shannon O'Connor continues the Holiday series that was started with 'I Saw Mommy Kiss the Nanny' and continues in that lovely queer Hallmark sort of movie that actually includes queer people, and gives you the same sort of warm and fuzzies that book did as well. This book, however, tells the story of one of the group of friends from the first book: Ellie, a plus size heroine who has pink hair and wants to be a fashion designer. She's not really looking for more than a one night stand and like destiny during a bar crawl on Saint Patrick's Day, she runs into Reese who also tends to prefer one night stands. After an incredible hook up at a bar, the two part separate ways.

A year passes, and while the two don't meet again the world continues to go on, and as it does, they think about one another often but it's not until the next St. Patty's Day that they run into one another once again and from there it becomes an extremely sweet and warm and sexy romance. I love the characters involved more than words can say, and the spice between the two of them is electric and practically bounces off of the page. More importantly than that, the chemistry between the two almost seems to spark when the two of them are both together and apart.

Additionally, I enjoyed the minor characters in this story, and the circles of friendship between queer people that definitely create a community that tends to be so important when the queer community is involved. There's always a slightly incestuous vibe in many queer circles of people who like one another but then end up not together. I know that they're getting their own books later, but I do wish we got more of them.

The one thing that I do wish that this book had was more resolution to the conflict with Ellie's work. While I know that's not the point of the story, it really does feel lacking that there's not more of an end for it with her being triumphant. For all of that I am hopeful that it will be touched on more in the later sequels to these books.

While I do appreciate the normalization of going to therapy and acceptance of space when someone is having a mental health issue, I do want to warn people that there are a few extremely brief mentions of past abuse and abusive relationships. Some people might not catch the more minor ones (like the Medusa tattoo) but it was a little bit jarring to read, even if O'Connor does handle the resolution with the characters quite well. This isn't really a complaint, more of a making the reader aware of such a thing happening in what is otherwise an extremely sweet text.

I recommend this book, and I'm giving it four stars. I will definitely be gladly looking forward to the next books in this series.

A great and sizzling way to spend a day! This story is not too heavy on the emotions but all the more on the spice. It’s a one night stand to forever trope and an awesome one at that. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Ellie is trying to make her way as a fashion designer but so far she only got as far as to being an assistant to a ice queen boss. Her life is not going as great as she planned, especially since she’s been in love with her best friend Bella but that’s unrequited. On Saint Patrick’s day she goes out with her friends and Bella brings a date. Painful as that is, Ellie tries to make the best of the day by dragging a hot woman to the bar’s bathroom to have her way with her. Enter Reese.

Reese is a womanizer, a do ‘m and leave directly after kind of girl. She has some traumatic relationships in her past and is in no way looking to repeat that in the near future. When a hot woman picks her up in a bar, she doesn’t expect to be thinking about her a year later. When Reese meets Ellie exactly on year later again on Saint Patrick’s day, she knows this is more than a quick hook up.

Soon Ellie and Reese realize that it’s not only their flammable physical attraction that keeps them close. As the relationship between Ellie and Reese develops they cross some hurdles, but it’s easy as a reader to root for them.

This is the second book in the series and it’s great to get a little update about the characters from book 1: I Saw Mommy Kissing The Nanny.

All in all, this story is a lovely one. And be sure to have a bucket of ice water ready while reading it, because it’s hotttt!

Lucky To Be Yours is another enjoyable read from Shannon O'Connor. The story is set in the same universe as the previous story in the series, I Saw Mommy Kiss the Nanny. The two main characters from that story make brief appearances in this story but this time the story revolves around Ellie, one of the side characters from that first story.

Unlike the first story, in which the romance and erotic aspects were probably the strongest elements, in Lucky To Be Yours, I felt that those were the weaker elements and that the character development was the stronger part of the story. There was a lot of time spent delving into the characters and their backgrounds which I really appreciated. Both Ellie and Reese were unique, fleshed out, and provided with thoughtful character development. Their relationship develops at a good pace and in realistic ways. I found many parallels between the events in this story and my own previous experiences.

The romance itself is fairly well written, even if a bit unrealistic here and there (as romance stories often are). The erotic scenes are, unfortunately, the weakest part of this book. There are quite a few of them here and the first one or two are pretty hot but after that they are all the same, there is very little variation between the scenes. Honestly by the end, I almost found myself skimming over than rather than excitedly devouring every word.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and is worth the time, especially if you have already read the first book in the series and want to dive a bit more into the world that it created.

This is such a cute book. Spicy AF. Two gorgeous lesbian characters. Plus size, survivor, and anxiety rep. Great set of LGBT side characters.

Ellie and Reese met a year before on St. Patrick's day in a bar. They hook up at one bar, not wanting any relationships at the time, just the fun. Then they meet again, at another bar, as they both were bar hopping with their respective friends, and hook up again. A year later, they meet at the same bar and day they had a year ago, and they are both more than ready to pursue a relationship together.

These two learn about each other, emotionally and physically, and it's just beautiful. I loved Ellie, with her being plus size and having pink hair, she reminds me of me, so it's great to see that she is being loved for all her curves and her beauty. I loved Reese and how she grew more confident about being in a relationship again, the more she was with Ellie. These two were just perfect for each other.

Lucky to be Yours can be read as a stand-alone, but is part of the Holidays with You series, the first book being I Saw Mommy Kissing the Nanny, so you see the characters Morgan and Lucy in this book. It's great to see where they're at now.

I honestly can't wait for Bella and Dylan's story.

P.S. That cover though. 🤌

The book is a quick, fun read!

The premise of this book is Ellie trying to get over her unrequited love for one of her best friends, Belle, Ellie's chance meeting with Reese and the pair eventually becoming a couple. They have their share of fun, angst, and a well-written happily-ever-after.

Beyond the couple's story, we get glimpses of Bella & Dylan and beloved Lucy & Morgan. There's mentions of an adorable doggo in the end, too.

I enjoyed the way Ellie being plus-size wasn't used as a crutch or a redemption arc in the story, neither was it glossed over as something to be embarassed about - we love a confident, curvy queen who's happy just the way she looks and isn't afraid to flaunt all she's got.

Reese's delicate past and her trauma response are woven into the story with gravitas, neither grossly overutilized nor half-heartedly dismissed. Her friendship with Mitchell starts off sounding stereotypical and cliched, but the story does it justice by the end.

Ellie and Reese are two, very passionate, people in love. And they're do not shy away from sharing that passion each other. I do love me some 🌶️🌶️🌶️, but there is such a thing as too much 🌶️ and some steamy parts of the book were, in my opinion, a bit of an overkill.

But the book is, overall, wonderfully written. The characters are endearing and the dialogues, delightful.

Overall, a fun read.

“Lucky To Be Yours” is a novel that revolves around two strangers meeting at a bar on St. Paddy’s day, and them hooking up for a quickie only to keep meeting up again and again. Their amazing sexual energy drawing them closer together than either was expecting, but there is not much else to the story than that.

When I first picked up this book, I put it down after the second chapter, as I didn’t think it was my cup of tea. I picked it up again to do this review, and was surprised that it wasn’t too bad of a read, but it still wasn’t my cup of tea. This novel is filled with lots of sex and not much else. The main characters and their best friends are one dimensional with back stories that real rushed and not throughly thought out or explained to the reader. There were however times in which the author tried to express some meaningful plot points and observations, but they were sporadically pieced together between sex scene after sex scene.

If you like lots of graphic sex and a simple plot line, then this is the perfect book for you. I am giving it 2.5 out of 5 stars. I was graciously provided with an advance copy of this novel for review through BookSirens.

Lucky to Be Yours by Shannon O'Connor, is a spicy Sapphic romance novel by Shannon O’Connor, set in New York city with a link to the St. Patrick celebrations.

The romance is between Elle, who is trying to make it in the world as a fashion designer, and Reese, a womaniser who is out for a good time.

Lucky to be yours is a novella of about 130 pages and on the one hand is full of sex scenes with a bit of plot in between, with links around how St Patrick’s day is mainly celebrated by drinking.

The main trope of this romance novella is one night stand to forever, which is played well with the first meeting being a quick scene in a bar's bathroom, but as the relationship went on the scenes becoming, more tender.

As this is a romance story there is a 3rd act breakup, which plays on Reese's history which does read very c;unky and could have been handled better but with Luck to be Yours being a novella there was not enough room for it to be done any better.

Having said that, it did seem to show how Reese and Ellie's relationship developed over time.

So with Luck to Be yours by Shannon O’connor being a quick read being about 130 pages you can do worse than whiling away a few hours reading this sapphic romance.

If your looking for a cute FF holiday romance this book is for you!

It’s perfect if your looking for a short read or if your just looking to get into the upcoming holiday spirit!

Ellie and Reese are so cute together! I love how they both aren’t looking for a relationship. But end up meeting each other and wondering if they actually do want a relationship, they just couldn’t find the right person.

Definitely would recommend reading this book! Especially if you love FF romances, St. Patrick’s, and woman who aren’t looking for relationships but can’t stay away from each other!

Blurb:

A curvy pink haired goddess, a womanizer & one unforgettable St. Patrick’s Day.

The last thing Ellie was looking for was a relationship. She was only twenty-four, why did everyone her age suddenly feel inclined to settle down? These were our twenties for crying out loud. So when she goes out on St. Patrick’s day, she fully intends to find a girl, bring her home and never call her again.

Enter Reese Williams, the eternal womanizer known for having a good time in bar bathrooms and not calling the next day. When she tempts a certain pink haired babe on St. Patrick’s day, she expects her to be as obsessed as the rest of them. But when she leaves without asking for her phone number, she can’t help but think about her. So when they continue to run into each other all day, is this fate intervening or the luck of the Irish?

Will Ellie finally settle down and call Reese back, or will their lucky night be just that?

Review:
When I found out Shannon had another book coming out I stopped everything and the other book I was into just to read this. Funny and sexy spills all over this book. I love that the main character is a curvy girl as we need more representation in all thing’s especially books. This story is about Ellie and Reese who meet at a bar and hook up, then part ways and find each other at another bar that same night. Neither wanting to take it further go their separate ways. Bella is in love with her best friend who had no clue and Reese is healing from past trauma. So when they run into each other a year later they immediately want to hang out and go on a date that day. There is something that keeps pulling them together and making things seem so much easier then past relationships. Though can this last? Great job on this cutie and sexy book I’m excited to read over what may come in the future.

First of all, I wish I had these girls' confidence!! It was really nice to see so much passion right from the start. I absolutely love stories like this with fate and people finding each other again, and Shan did it so well! It was also very affirming and reassuring to see Reese's past and trauma be dealt with so gently and for Ellie to handle it well. As someone who deals with trauma and panic attacks, I always hope I can find someone who can meet me where I'm at like that. On top of that, I really appreciated a sapphic romance that didn't end with kids. I'm someone who's never wanted kids, so sometimes it just doesn't appeal to me as much to always have characters who have kids and things like that. My only critique really is that there were one or two things that are very dependent on knowing the cultural context, such as the medusa tattoo. It's not a problem for me, but I could forsee someone not knowing this adopted meaning behind it. As always, Shan did an amazing job, and I loved it so much!! Please keep writing plus size sapphic characters, and I will keep showing them all my love!!

Initially, I was excited by the opening, and I liked the meet-cute. That said, very quickly the desperate need for edits frustrated me. There were awkward continuity issues with using present tense but sometimes past tense, and not always appropriately. Additionally, many times the author could have used “it’s” instead of “it is,” which sounded stilted. There was odd punctuation (missing commas, incorrect use of semi-colons, periods that created weird sentence fragments), and then some contractions didn’t have apostrophes (“Ive” instead of “I’ve” and one “din’t” instead of “didn’t.”) Then there were missing words and other typos, so that wasn’t fun.

Now, if the writing has been otherwise great I’d maybe have been able to deal with the punctuation and stuff. But the writing was just ok. For example, the thread about Ellie’s boss gets dropped entirely, the issue about being afraid of PDA never gets explained nor resolved on the page, and what about the grandmother? It feels like the entire book was left in draft form and needs beta readers to push for further development, and proofreading.

An entertaining erotic rom-com.
This book is the 2nd in a series but can be read as a standalone. It is written slightly better than the previous one in the series and shows even more promise. However, continuity problems and lack of editing still make it fall short of its potential.
The story is great, a wonderfully original story with some really good sex scenes. The structure is done well and the pacing of the story makes sense and is realistic. The characters are a bit more rounded up in this book and I loved to see a bit of a developmental arc in both of them (though not enough and it's mostly told and not shown).
I am giving extra bonus points for a plus-size MC representation. Always appreciated and done very well in this case.

T&T:
Tropes: one night to forever, fem/butch, holiday romance
Triggers: abusive ex (off page), PTSD-related panic attacks, unrequited love
Rating: I gave it 3 stars and with a bit more editing it could have so easily become a 4 stars book. The potential is enormous.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A cute, sexy, fun, smutty St. Patrick’s Day themed read. This FF romance has a touch of comedy and Hallmark style moments. What started as only a quick hookup turns into a second chance at love.

Ellie and Reese meet on St. Patrick’s Day, repeatedly. They both have dominant personalities and are looking for nothing more than a good time. They aren’t in a place where they want a relationship and both realize that. So they leave each other as just a fun hookup.

A year later, with some luck, they meet again. This time they are in different places in their lives and are ready for more than just a hookup. Ellie and Reese decide to take a chance and see where things go.

This is a wonderful read and I really enjoyed it. The plot flowed and it made it a quicker read for me. Ellie and Reese have great depth and are well developed. They are relatable too. The way they communicate freely and support each other is genuine.

What an amazing chase encounter on St. Patrick’s day one year for Ellie and Reese! Ellie is secretly in love with her best friend, who happens to be dating someone. She decides that maybe she can find someone to have a one night stand with. Well, it looks like Reese is that someone. Both not looking for a relationship, but their connection right from the beginning is electric. How does this chance encounter turn out? Wait til you find out! Even after running into each other the next year, it seems Ellie and Reese pick up from the previous year. Can Ellie possibly find someone besides her best friend to form a connection and be with. When a certain something happens that triggers Reese, what does this mean for her and Ellie? The banter shared between Ellie and Reese, and the way they can’t keep their hands off each other; made me keep my fingers crossed that they would have a happy ending. I read this book in less than a day! I just couldn’t put it down!

Shannon O'Conner really did a great job weaving the story of Ellie and Reese. These two have depth, understanding with an unexpected love of a lifetime.

Ellie, a budding fashion designer putting up with a job to "pay her dues". She has a love for her best friend Bella. Reese is a broken, yet healing person coming off several toxic relationships where her last one left major marks on her.

On St. Patrick's day, Ellie and Reese met while out with friends. Bella is with Dylan and Ellie needs to forget this. Reese and Ellie hookup for quick one in the bathroom. From there both their lives changes as they have a connection neither understands.

An unexpected romance story that takes a year to come full circle but leads to the love of a lifetime where neither knows how they could ever live without the other.

“Lucky To Be Yours” by Shannon O’Connor was a quick and cute holiday read. The romance and erotica felt like the biggest parts of the story. Some parts of the FMCs, Ellie and Reese, felt really immature. Some parts cheesy but some parts were steamy.

Example of the cheese:
“I probably sound like a f**k boy and that’s fine, I wear the label proudly, although sexist. Sometimes the best things have to end before they truly begin to appreciate them.”

Example of the cute:
“Just like every time in the past year, it feels like I’m walking on air while she kisses me.”

Overall, I enjoyed the read and I liked watching the relationship form. I wish there was a little more character development. I would definitely read more books from Shannon.

Fun and entertaining FF story that would make THE perfect hallmark movie 😉 Ellie and Reese’s story is centered around a meet-cute on St. Patrick’s day in New York. Ellie is nursing so major heartache and Reese is there for a good time. They go their separate ways at the end of the night, but never quite out of each others mind. A year later and a perfect kismet of circumstances finds them back at the scene of last St. Patrick’s day, minus the heartache.

Ellie finds herself wanting a relationship and knowing all there is to know about Reese, while Reese must dig deep and confess the darkness of her past. Both doing whatever it takes to make this new and exciting point of their lives work.

Both women are driven, fun, and strong and the chemistry and spicy time is enough to send anyone into overdrive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you BookSirens, and Shannon O'Connor, for the ARC.

This book was a super cute cozy St. Patricks Day romance. I loved it. Meet up again after a connection-lost trope I'm a sucker for. Ellie and Reece were adorable together. St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays, so it was great to have a nice romance to read. There are usually not a lot of books around the holiday.

My one complaint is that when Ellie and Reese first met, Reese's language threw me off, and it took a little bit to get used to. I would also have loved seeing more of Ellie's relationship with her grandma.

I recommend reading this book.

First of all I want to say that I love the fact that it is around Saint Patrick's, it's a holiday that isn't often used in books, so I really like that.
The set-up of the book was good and quite nice, especially the fact that there is mention of problems that aren't just swiped away like it's nothing, the novel includes the mentions of therapy, which I can only applaud, since making it less a stigma.
You also notice that this author is growing in their writing, as I've read quite a few books by now and I notice that there are less inconsistacies than in her earlier books. There are though a few mistakes found throughout the book.
In general I did really like the book and the spice in it.

Classic romcom with a meet cute, quick hook up, redemption and HEA.

I loved that without going into too much detail, we were given a vision of what the ladies looked like. The friend group was great.

After the firsr one, I did skip the sex scenes as I wasn't "in the mood" but what I did read was HOT

I'm a reader who if the character raises their eyebrows, I do too. By the end or this story I had winked about 4 million times (I exaggerate) hahaha

Enjoyable, quick read.

Female/female romances are not my normal read but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Both Reese and Ellie are strong dominant characters and it’s refreshing to see them be able to relax and have someone take care of them.

My only complaint is that Reese abuse story is not really talked about or explained and then it was just like their fight never happened. The idea was to portray a healthy relationship and by not addressing the fight doesn’t seem very healthy to me.

Overall this book was good I devoured it in like 2 hours. Smut literally started within like the first couple chapter and it jumped right in.

Thank you to BookSirens and the author for an e-ARC of this title to read and review voluntarily. By now, I have read quite a few of Shannon O'Connor's titles, and I have to say that she's really hit her stride with this series in particular. I love that this holiday themed collection is focusing on a group of three friends who find unexpected romances over specific occasions, and this one is Ellie's St. Patrick's Day random hookup-turned-something worth pursuing. I found these characters to be pretty well developed and compelling, and I appreciated some elements continuing over from Morgan's previous Christmas story. I'll be continuing with the series for sure!
