I’ve known Dawn for many years, and what I love about this book is that she allows herself to be vulnerable and shares her authentic self! Dawn has spent years refining her trade as a financial planner. She knows the field of finance. But more importantly, she cares about people. This shines brightly throughout this book.
Here’s what I love most about this book: ⁃ it intertwines the practices of financial planning with a self examination of your values and beliefs. ⁃ It is a book of action…bring a writing utensil and be ready to reflect and answer questions about your objectives, thought processes, goal setting, career and financial planning.
I loved walking through the process of refining my values, and thinking about how I make better choices when they’re aligned to the values most important to me. It was great to examine what my true values are, vs what others expect of me.
Dawn points out that we control our thinking and choices, including how we make decisions. This really got me thinking about negative thoughts and patterns that collect over the years, even generations! These habits and fear affect how we live, our self worth, and how we apply it all to every aspect of our lives.
After going through this reflective, action oriented process, Dawn continues by providing specific action oriented worksheet style chapters on career, income, spending, and ultimately growing your wealth. This is such a useful exercise. It takes time but it’s a worthy investment.
It is very clear to me that Dawn put her heart into this book. It’s a practical guide for anyone. It’s packed full of knowledge with specific actions to take. When I think about skills our teenagers leave high school with, I’d say everyone one of them should complete this book! Dawn: LIVE WELLthy 101 on campuses everywhere!!
