The hero was in serious condition after an accident. A reclusive woman named Marion found him unconscious lying on the beach. She took him to the cave where she lived a solitary life and nursed him back to health. He recovered physically, but had amnesia, with no memory of his name, past life, or where he was from. Although he's unaware of it, in the past he used to see visions of a beautiful, red-haired woman. That woman, Gillian, has been having dreams every night about a handsome man with kind eyes and a gentle manner. She doesn't know him, has never met him, but he seems very real to her. She's an artist. She paints a portrait of the man she sees in her dreams. When the man is fully recovered physically, Marion insists that he leave. So he sets out to try to discover who he is, what his name is, and if anybody in the area knows him. Using a time portal in the castle Gillian has inherited and where she is living, a family from the 17th century who live in that same castle in their century has booked rooms and are currently onsite. Gillian has her suspicions about the group because something about them just seems off. The man with amnesia ends up at the castle, which seems familiar to him. When Gillian answers his knock at one of the doors, they are both shocked to see each other. Through a chain of events, the man encounters first Connor, then the rest of the castle guests, in the process learning his true name (Orick), recovering his memories and his friends, who had thought he was dead. A skeptical Gillian is persuaded to travel back to the past with Orick and the others. I enjoyed Orick as a secondary character in the last book. The ending in that one was heartbreaking, and I'm so glad he found love in this one. There was some angst in this one, too; I'm sorry he and Marion didn't have more time together after a secret was revealed. I think Gillian and Orick's decision about which century to live in was the best choice for them. I'm also glad that the wedding scene possible disaster was avoided. Eoghanan and Orick are my favorites of Bethany Claire's heroes in this series so far. Loved this story; I couldn't put the book down until I finished. On to the next book!
