Love Beyond Dreams

Rate this book
Magic lingers inside all who call Cagair Castle home.

Gillian Wright dreams of the same man every night—his kind eyes and gentle smile as familiar to her now as her own reflection. She looks forward to her nights spent with him, but when she starts to hear his voice in the winds around Cagair Castle, she can’t help but wonder if he’s more than a figment of her imagination.

Only pain comes to him when he sleeps. His dreams give him glimpses of all he can’t remember when awake. His name and memories are lost to him in a way that leaves him troubled and wanting. Then the opportunity for a new life places him in the path of a lass who seems to already know him. Could she be the key to helping him remember?

Bethany Claire is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Scottish time travel romance novels in Morna’s Legacy Series.

Bethany’s love of storytelling has been a lifelong passion but, convinced it would serve her best to follow a “conventional” career path, she tucked that passion away and went off to college.

Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Months away from graduating with a degree in elementary education, she finally realized writing was the only career that would make her happy.

So one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the registrar’s office and withdrew from the university on the spot. Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full time and is following her dreams.

I was absolutely thrilled when I found out which character this book featured, I thought he was lost forever! It was a nice twist that really made the story that much more interesting and completely drew me in. I also really loved the new characters we were introduced to, they added a lot to the story. And that twist at the end was just heartbreaking!

I LOVED Orick and Gillian's story. Their story is my favorite of the entire series. Reading the other 5 books in the series was worth it entirely for THIS book.

This was a good comeback after the disappointment from the last book. I loved that right off the bat our characters are time traveling forward in time for a change.

It seemed like Orick's declaration of love was a little rushed. I gets that it's fate and such but I found it along the lines of loving someone at first sight and telling them that. It's enough to scare any modern girl off and seems out of place in this series. I also felt like Orick wasn't as lighthearted and sarcastic in this book as the last. Maybe he needs to be around Adwen for his sense of humor to show but I really miss it.

About 2/3 of the way through the book I felt the book becmae too silly/goofy almost. This one and the last one along with In Due Time haven't been up to Ms. Claire's standards and I find that and them disappointing. Fingers crossed for her next series that she's refreshed and back with her good storytelling and romance. This is where the book loses me, again with the ending too rushed, with a horrible wedding scene. I like the idea of it but I don't believe the two characters are in love. They've hardly spent any time together. Haven't gotten to know one another. Not to mention it seemed such an odd thing to introduce Marion then not have her around for 100+ pages then bring her back only to reveal who she is and kill her off in 10 pages.

The continuity is a little wonky still at times but over all an enjoyable book if not a 5 star.

Recommendation:
A definite yes after book 5’s sadness. This is book 6 in the series so make sure to read the first 5+ ones before starting this one.

Gillian has claimed ownership of Cagair castle (in the present) after Jane’s mysterious disappearance and has set about renovating the castle to its full glory. Until her world is turned upside down by a group of strangers renting the castle for a few days for an obscene amount of money. Her guests seem odd and when she finds a dirty ragged man wandering the mist, she doesn’t think life can get any weirder. But then she learns to time travel.

Orick disappeared over a cliff to plunge into the sea and to his death, the trouble is… he doesn’t know who he is or where he’s from. What he does know is Gillian is the fairest woman he’s ever seen and wants to get to know her better.

After the sadness that soaked the pages of book 5, this story was one of hope and finding your way out of self-imposed darkness. Gillian is a strong character with a good moral compass and a deep internal flaw she must overcome in order to survive and thrive. Their romance was one of sweet moments and respecting personal boundaries that was wholesome to read.

Audiobook Review:
Lily Collingwood is, as always, enjoyable to hear. The book was 6 hours as usual, the recording quality was excellent with no hum or distortion and made the entire focus on the story.

Morna's Ghost is the sweet and clean version of Love Beyond Dreams
Book #6

Gillian Wright dreams of the same man every night his kind eyed and gentle smile as familiar to her as her own reflection. She looks forward to her nights spent with him, but when she starts to hear his voice in the winds around Cagair Castle, she starts to wonder if he's more then just her imagination.

Pain comes to him when he sleeps. His dreams give him glimpses of all he can't remember when he's awake. His name and memories are lost to him in a way that leaves him troubled. Then the opportunity for a new life places him in the path of a woman who seems to already know him.
Will she be able to help him remember? If he ever remembers will it destroy him or will it make him stronger? Will they be able to overcome the odds and fall in love?

Once again Bethany Claire takes her original book and turns it into such a sweet retelling that it warmed my heart. Ms. Claire is one of the best time travel writers who I have ever been lucky enough to come across. Once again Bethany Claire shows us that she is the Queen of time travel.

The hero was in serious condition after an accident. A reclusive woman named Marion found him unconscious lying on the beach. She took him to the cave where she lived a solitary life and nursed him back to health. He recovered physically, but had amnesia, with no memory of his name, past life, or where he was from. Although he's unaware of it, in the past he used to see visions of a beautiful, red-haired woman. That woman, Gillian, has been having dreams every night about a handsome man with kind eyes and a gentle manner. She doesn't know him, has never met him, but he seems very real to her. She's an artist. She paints a portrait of the man she sees in her dreams. When the man is fully recovered physically, Marion insists that he leave. So he sets out to try to discover who he is, what his name is, and if anybody in the area knows him. Using a time portal in the castle Gillian has inherited and where she is living, a family from the 17th century who live in that same castle in their century has booked rooms and are currently onsite. Gillian has her suspicions about the group because something about them just seems off. The man with amnesia ends up at the castle, which seems familiar to him. When Gillian answers his knock at one of the doors, they are both shocked to see each other. Through a chain of events, the man encounters first Connor, then the rest of the castle guests, in the process learning his true name (Orick), recovering his memories and his friends, who had thought he was dead. A skeptical Gillian is persuaded to travel back to the past with Orick and the others. I enjoyed Orick as a secondary character in the last book. The ending in that one was heartbreaking, and I'm so glad he found love in this one. There was some angst in this one, too; I'm sorry he and Marion didn't have more time together after a secret was revealed. I think Gillian and Orick's decision about which century to live in was the best choice for them. I'm also glad that the wedding scene possible disaster was avoided. Eoghanan and Orick are my favorites of Bethany Claire's heroes in this series so far. Loved this story; I couldn't put the book down until I finished. On to the next book!

Another great addition to the sweet, clean versions of the Morna's Legacy series that have been released as "The Magical Matchmaker Legacy" series. I enjoyed reading this and reacquainting myself with Gillian and Orick's love story from "Love Beyond Dreams." This one is one of my favorites as I could imagine myself up in the castle tower painting with Gillian and living in a castle that has been retrofitted with all the modern conveniences. And dreaming about a Scottish hunk who actually shows up on your doorstep in real life, what could be better than that?

It was pretty good but it was my least favorite of the series. The whole amnesia thing was kind of annoying. And I wasn't a huge fan of the new characters. I missed the old ones. Even though we do get to see the older characters it wasn't enough in my opinion. They were just there for like a second and it was very superficial. We didn't get to dive into their family relations like we previously did.

I Loved all six books! Six-year-old Cooper plays a strong part in all the books. His personality adds so much to them. The love stories are intriguing, with the right amount of humor, pitfalls, and successes. I found the contrast between life in 649 and modern times to be interesting. If you like historical romances, you'll like that aspect too, I bet. Bethany Claire is always a good read. Never be afraid to go for her books!

Good light reading

Bringing one of the main characters back from death and the intriguing weaving of this story made it fun to read. Bethany Claire's writing has improved greatly throughout the process of writing the "Morna's Legacy" series of books. I could not guess what the next surprising turn was going to happen next in this novel which I really enjoy.

This is part of the Morna's Legacy Time Travel series that I love. There are around 12 books and I love all of them that include people traveling back and forth in time in Scotland. Each book is based on a certain couple helped with love by Morna but they all intact with each other. Some are based more on people moving back in time and some move forward but they all interact together.

Orick is such a great guy and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him find his match. Adorable Cooper makes many appearances which was a joy.

I also liked how the characters went to the future, that was different, in a good way!

If you still haven't checked out this series, please start at book 1. They are sweet, romantic time-travel romances!

Sweet telling of a favorite

I had forgotten how much I love the story of Gillian and Orick. This "sweet" version of their tale warmed my heart as much as the original. As always, Bethany Claire's stories keep me engaged from start to finish.

Orick and Gillian

Orick so richly deserved this spectacular story with an amazing woman. Orick is that guy who is unassuming yet is so important to everyone. He is just a heartbreaker who can heal that special woman who needs her heart healed. Absolutely a 10 star read.

Another great storyline!

I loved how this story came out, was sad about his sister and hoped for a better end for her. Once again Cooper just about steals the whole show. The ending insures that I will read the next book!

Such an awesome read

Orick is by far my favorite character in this series, I loved his book. I wished they would have written in a happier ending for his sister though. He is the best guy truly, and he makes an awesome couple with Gillian

Orick Rules!

I think during each book that the dashing Scot is the best so far. For whatever reason, I think Orick wins the "best Scot aside from Jamie Fraser" award.

Good Story!

The time spent between Craig and the recluse was great but I wish they had shared more of their early family life to make their time more heartfelt.
