Mirrors Never Lie is the first is the Scarred series - a BRAND NEW SERIES by bestselling gritty gangland thriller author, Edie Baylis.

A new scarred series novel, this cover is so eye catching you just have to pick up and see what's inside and I certainly wasn't disappointed, mirrors never lie oh do they?.
Zane Morelli has done his time for the murder and robbery of David Masters, he marks the scar that shows he betrayed the firm, stepping out of prison the man who put him there Flame who is alive and kicking will pay but all in good time, Zane's brother Marco also thinks he betrayed the firm and need Back in with his family.
Erin Langley is out waiting for Zane's release she will make him pay for killing her family time in the slammer is not enough for her, and Zane is soon to know a connection with her and Flame, that boils up this book you wont be able to put it down.
This read has to be my best so far this month, it hits your emotions on so many levels, that is so twisted right through for these characters. I just eagerly await more to come, fantastic just what you need to push all your buttons.

well, what a book I love this author s books but this her best yet, Erin Langley wants revenge so bad for her family she will do anything to get it. Zane Morelli was sent to prison for a murder he did not do. the day has come he is out. But he has not informed his brother or the firm as he does not trust them. Zane thinks. Flame is died. He in for a big surprise. there are a few twists in this book. once you start you won't want to stop family you should trust but not in this, I so can't wait for second book.in series a belter of a read so recommend.

This book is about the eldest son of a London Gangster who has been in prison for murder whilst in there his father has died and he has become boss of the gang or has he? He knows he was framed and seeks revenge but does he know who framed him? This was a riveting read and I'm ashamed to say I was rooting for a convicted murderer. How did the author do that? This is the first in a series and I'm going to have to follow Zane Morrelli to see what he gets up to in the future.

Wow. What a fantastic read. Great characters and a a great storyline. A really good first book in a really good new series. Another belter from a fantastic author. Really can’t wait for the next one. Definitely 11 out of 10

Thrilling from start to finish telling the tale of 2 people out for revenge...Zane has been released from jail ..none of his family know. Erin is seeking justice for the death of her father. Erin and Zain meet and a brilliant story of love hate sadness and murder comes together. Am eagerly waiting for book 2 in this series !

Thanks to edie baylis for letting me review an arc of mirrors, never lie. Well, what can i say, what a fantastic start to a new collection. Zain morelli has just been released from prison, he is led to believe an old adversary set him him up and has been killed until zain sees him alive and kicking...... Zain is on a mission......
Erin langley is due to marry anthony.... but not for love...... for revenge..... she wants his empire she also wants to kill zain morelli as she was told he had been the man to kill her father......
w.o.w what a book, fast-paced, great plot, great characters, im in love with zain..... I can't wait for book 2. If you're looking for a new series, this must be the one. Im hooked...

An excellent example of the genre, an easy to read, well paced delve into the criminal underground worlds and divided and double crossing family loyalties.
The level of gore is pitched just right for me, enough shock factor and plausible feel of threat and authenticity of the bad guys but not over help for the sake of it.
I warmed to the characters and bought the backstories and the dialogue and plot lines flowed well with some slick twists and turns and a good dash of romance.
My copy was presumably pre proofread as quite a few typos / errors, not least more than five occurrences of ‘on route’ (sic) which was a bit distracting but as I say no doubt will be weeded out before release.
As with any good story I definitely feel I need to know what happens next as I’m invested in the main characters and I look forward to reading the next in the series.

This book raced along had me from the start of the story.
This book is the start of a new series from this author. Its not for the faint hearted graphic and brutal an easy read story.

Fairly graphic, be warned. Zane and Erin both have vengeance in their hearts. But who is really the one who deserves their rage? When it comes to the mob, it's all about power. Plenty of scheming, violence and criminal acts. At the same time, the main characters drew me in and kept me reading.

A good read . Thought this a bit different from Edies usual style. Less gritty. Good characters. Look forward to the second book, hopefully with less grammatical errors. Whoever proof read this book missed a great deal of mistakes.

Brutally graphic, raw. Definitely not for the faint hearted. Revenge is the strong thread throughout, violent, emotional, rivetting.

This was a departure from the wide range of genres I've previously read/that I read, so I thought I'd go for something a bit different.
This is the first in the 'Scarred' series and centres around London gangsters, Marco and Zane Morelli, with the protagonists being two very different brothers fighting for control of 'The Firm'. Marco's brother Zane is being released from prison after being wrongfully convicted, and he's out for revenge, unaware that someone else is also out for revenge and he's their target. It's a fast paced novel which packs a lot into it including the goings on of the criminal underworld and complicated family dynamics. There's a cliffhanger at the end which led me to immediately reading the second in the series.
