Mira Michaels’ sister has invited her to a Jersey shore bungalow for a long weekend of fun and sun and sand, even fuzzy kitty, Arnold, is along for the trip. But when a body is found under the boardwalk, Mira must learn to work with her famous sister if she wants to solve the crime.
Julia spent her early childhood in a small town in Pennsylvania very similar to Pleasant Pond. Her house, also an old Victorian which her dad renovated, was indeed haunted.
Short story about Mira visiting her sister Darla for a long weekend at the beach. Ozzie and Arnold go along, but Arnold has a very minor role in this store. Ozzie gets a little more action when she discovers a body under the boardwalk. Extremely short, the book wasn't as well developed as the usual length books in the series. However with great beach food, mystery, and murders, it was fun to read and imagine the warm sunshine and sand between my toes. It was nice to see the sisters working together and combining their strengths and talents to unravel the mystery.
Mira and her sister, Darla, meet at the New Jersey Shore for a weekend of sun and fun. It turns out that while they’re there, there’s a lifeguard competition going on. But when Mira’s dog, Ozzie, discovers a dead lifeguard under the boardwalk, Mira and Darla turn finding the killer into a competition to see who can solve it first (and Darla promises not to use her psychic abilities to help)! A fun and interesting cozy mystery, number 10 in this delightful series. I received a free ARC copy of the book and write this review voluntarily.
A super cute cozy mystery! Mira is on her way to the beach for the weekend with her sister. There's only one rule: no psychic stuff. But when Mira stumbles on a dead body, the sisters decide to team up and solve the case before the weekend is over. When a 2nd body turns up, they get down to business. Mira want to prove to her sister that she's just as capable of solving murders as Darla is, without psychic abilities.
Adorable. The sisterly strife is there. Julia koty perfectly depicts sisterly jealousy and love while also tossing in murder. A great read!
Another enjoyable read. This time Mira is having a long weekend away with her sister, Darla. Arnold & her little dog are with her. Sadly, they discover a dead body under the boardwalk & late discover a big dog which has been hurt. They take hi to the vet & find he has broken ribs. Then another murder. Too much for them to stop investigating like the Police have told them to! Yes, they solve the crime.
This was a good read, but I wish it had been a little longer. But, since I have not read any of the other books, I guess that it could be that I was not just knowledgeable enough with the characters to read a short story about her solving this murder. I enjoyed Julia Koty's style of writing and I will probably read more of her to understand these mysteries better.
Super cute book. Kinda short but I really enjoyed how Mira and Darla worked together. I do have to say I did miss the rest of the crew from Pleasant Pond and I did see an error in the story with regards to the last time Darla saw Mira. If the books are in the correct order Darla saw her at Christmas but it was mentioned the last time she saw her was the time before.
A fun look at the main character of the Mira Michaels mystery series and her sister. They both solve mysteries in different ways, and put aside their differences for the greater good. I look forward to reading more about their adventures in full length novels.
This was a fun book to read! I enjoyed visiting the Jersey Shore and trying to solve the mystery. The characters were quite good especially the interaction between the sisters. The pets were a great addition. You will enjoy this book.
This is the first time I've read this author, but I don't plan on it being my last. This book has a well written entertaining storyline and just love the interaction between the characters. I received this book as a Free copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Mira and her psychic sister Darla and cat Arnold and dog Ozzie are at the beach for a weekend vacation. Of course murder follows the two sisters and they are challenged to solve the crimes.
This was a quick but fun read. I really like this series… just wish the books came out faster. I absolutely love Arnold… he’s so snarky!!! Happy Reading :)
These cozy mysteries are my new favorite genre. Very interesting story of two sisters, so different, yet so much alike. Their murder solving skills are awesome. Thanks for another wonderful great book Julia Koty. I really enjoyed it!
