Rate this book
I thought I had it good – until meeting a hot vampire Barone in Florence thrust me into a whole different world.

Now, I’m realizing my entire life was a lie, my Summer Fae parents keeping me hidden in the human world because of some monstrous creature I’m supposed to be.

Everyone wants me dead here in the Fae realm – from the King of the Summer Fae to the ruthless Vampire Council of Italy – all because of powers I don’t have.

Or do I? As the hot Summer Fae Prince steps up to defend me, vying with the vampire Barone to keep me, I’m not sure I want any of it.

Because this world is dangerous, death lurking around every corner.

And the most deadly thing here – is me.

From an Amazon bestselling author in Paranormal Romance & Fantasy Romance, the Vampire Masters of Italy is a spicy dark fae fantasy romance with a hot vampire-fae love trio. For the best experience, the books should be read in order.

Completely hooked right from the start

Well, where to start? I loved, loved, loved Ava Ward's Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco series and was so sad when it ended. I cheered up immensely when she said that her next series was going to feature none other than the one and only Barone Quindici DaPonti. He occupied more of my thoughts than he should have done, after meeting him in the Royal Dragons series and I wanted to know so much more about him (even if I wasn't sure if it would be good or bad because of his past relationship with my beloved Reginald).
The book starts off with a bang as Ariana Summers meets the mysterious Barone DaPonti, then discovers she's so much more than she thought when attacked by something unearthly. She is saved from this attack by Quinn and another man who suddenly appears, seemingly from another realm, but also discovers that she has powers of her own.
Ariana's instant attraction to the dark and devastatingly handsome Quinn is obvious, and he seems taken with her, but she also feels a pull towards the sunshine and brightness of her other rescuer, Lucca, who also is intrigued by the beauty he saved. The two men are total opposites but both have something about them that calls to Ariana. Now in the Twilight Realm, she finds herself in potentially more danger than before and is torn between the two. Having been taught a lot of Twilight Realm history by her parents, but not knowing much of the actual truth about so many things, including herself and her family, she is at an extreme disadvantage when faced with decisions that could put her life in even more danger than it already is. Who should she trust?
Ava introduces us to another Red Letter Hotel in Florence, run by Quinn, and we meet the two closest to him who I love. One is cheeky and a little Dusk-like, the other is a bit Rikyava-y but without the smiles and warmth! They are great characters, as are Quinn and Lucca, and will take on a bigger role in the upcoming books I'm sure, just like Lucca's right-hand man will too.
Quinn captured my heart in this new series. He is so much more than I thought and I couldn't help but love him, even if I wanted to give him a slap at times! His backstory got to me and I understand so much more about him and the way he is now.
Lucca is also intriguing and his history with Quinn is complicated and fascinating. In The Royal Dragons, there was M/F, M/M/F and M/M (all as part of the Bind between Layla and her men) and I'm hoping that we get more M/M this time as well because I'm pretty sure that Quinn and Lucca were not just friends in the past. Their interaction is both sad and beautiful and I want so much more for them and from them.
The writing is as alluring and seductive as the story, as expected from this master of storytelling and language. Whilst reading, I felt as though I was wrapped in a sensuous cocoon of silk and velvet, completely oblivious to the outside world, totally absorbed in Ava's words.
I understand that there will be six books in the series and that's just fine with me, providing Ava doesn't make us wait too long for them!

The first book in a Dark Haven Paranormal Vampire Fae fantasy romance which is so exciting and hot, set in the Red Letter Hotel in Florence, Italy in the twilight Zone. Ariana is a young international art curator who is offered a job in Florence, where she gets attacked by a revenant and in response she discovers that she has Dark Fae magic. A renegade Master Vampire and a rebellious Summer Fae Prince come to her rescue and battle the revenant and then take her into their twilight realm. Ariana is from thereon forced to accept that she can never return to her own world and if she wants to survive must accept the Master Vampire’s protection by binding herself to him as her master through his Master’s Kiss. Ariana is an independent young woman and not prone to accepting anyone as her master but can she survive in this realm where it seems both vampires and fae are out to get their hooks into her, a dark fae who can give them so much power. The Summer Fae King has set an order to have her killed and where she not living in the Hotel under Quinn’s protection she would be dead already. Both Quinn and Lucca are into political intrigue and both have their own reasons to bond with Ariana to see their aims met, Quinn wants to use her for vampire progress whilst Lucca wants to use her in his vendetta against his tyrannical father, the King of the Summer Fae. To both she was just a pawn who added power to their political game, and Ariana would fight till the end to retain her freedom even in the twilight zone. The Dark Fae have long been eradicated because they have magical power of both fae and vampire and are greatly feared, and Ariana though new to this, is gaining magical strength very quickly. In this book we enter into the decadent world of the Vampire Masters of Italy, so get ready for the heat, political intrigue, dangerous enemies, loads of breath taking action and a love triangle. I really enjoyed this first book, love the characters and the beautiful descriptions of both the Hotel in Florence Twilight Zone and more so of the Summer Fae Home and of Valorhome, Prince Lucca’s tree house sanctuary. I just cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 of this very exciting new series.

As someone who has been in love with the books that Ms. Ava Ward has been creating since first picking up the Dragon Bind series, I instantly fell in love with Quinn once he was introduced in the series. When I found out that Ms. Ava Ward was in the process of creating a story and romance around the mysterious vampire, I couldn't wait to read!

From the first page and sentence, we are captured by the allure that is Ariana Summers and the immediate attraction to the Vampire Master and you will not want to put this series down. There is a gothic feel to the world of Florence Red Letter Hotel just like how one would expect from vampires. Ms. Ava Ward has managed to bring this atmosphere into modern light with the necessary hints to continue to make it feel like a gothic vampire novel. Its an amazing contrast to the Fae places that Ariana experiences in her adventures, where the Fae is more gossamer and flowy in comparison. The twists and turns that Ms. Ava Ward creates to further a story, catch my breath every time I manage to pick up a different novel of hers.

Action packed adventures, steamy romances, taboo rendezvous, sexy men, and kick-ass heroines; Ms. Ava Ward seems to blend the fantastical dreams of women into her stories creating characters and worlds that any woman would love to be apart of. I will continue to read this series and any other series that Ms. Ava Ward spins together. Can't wait to see where Ms. Ava Ward manages to carry us away with Ariana, Quinn, and Lucca. Thank you Ms. Ava Ward for sharing your delicious worlds with us.

I was so excited to learn that Quin would be getting his own series. If you’ve read Ms. Ward’s Royal Dragon Bind series you can’t help but remember the enigmatic and alluring Barone Quindici Daponte.
In the first book of the Vampire Masters of Italy series we get to visit the twilight realm again and unravel some of the mystery that is Quin.
Ariana Summers is a powerless fae that has been living in the human world her whole life until a chance encounter triggers her latent powers and thrusts her into the twilight realm trying to find out exactly who...and what...she really is. Drawn to both Vampire Master Quin and Summer Fae Prince Lucca, Ariana is torn between the light and night inside her and is unsure whom to trust. Both powerful men want to help and protect the dark fae newly opened to her powers, but neither have altruistic motives.
As with any Ava Ward book you can expect incredible world-building, deep and well-developed characters, strong and independent heroines, pulse-pounding action scenes and off-the-charts chemistry.

Ava Ward is at it again! Creating beautiful characters that live in captivating worlds. I’m extremely excited for this series because I’ve been curious about Quinn from the first time we met him in Ms. Ward’s prior series, Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco. This particular book is a deliciously slow burn. Ariana finds herself in quite the predicament and thankfully, two handsome men swoop in to try and save the day. We get a crash course on Vampire and Fae society’s past and present in the Twilight Realm. This installment takes us on a wild journey filled with magic, love, heart break, turmoil, and good old fashioned sword fighting! Can’t wait for the next book! A truly wonderful beginning to, what should be, another mesmerizing series!

This book was given by the author in exchange for a honest review.

So, we're back in the Twilight Realm for another adventure! Since Mrs Ward ended her dragon series last year, I was anxious waiting for the next series that was going to explore this colorful world. And boy, she didn't disappoint! Dark Master's Kiss is about Quinn, the Master Vampire that we met in the first series and Ariana Summers, a fae that believes she doesn't have any magic. Mixed in the middle we have a bright fae prince called Lucca Bellari, who has a past with Quinn. Since dragons are a more passionate race (and since I was used to Layla's "don't fuck with me attitude"), took me some time to warm up to this book, because I couldn't connect with Ariana in the beginning and since Quinn has waaaay more secrets than Adrian. But in the middle of the book I couldn't put it down since more secrets were getting unrevealed at each chapter! And the scenery doesn't disappoint too since this book is set in Italy, so we have a bunch of historical facts and art to set the tone for this amazing book! Can't wait for book #2!

Oh! Ava Ward has done it again. She brings you in to this fascinating world so well I forget I’m just reading book. The way this author writes makes you feel every single emotion. I loved her Royal Dragon series and this one lived up to the legacy. Ariana is such a strong heroine. I love the way she fights for what she believes in. All while trying figure out this new world she’s been thrust into. She navigates those situations with grace and strength. I hate reading stories with washed out female leads. I definitely had to read this book in one sitting because I just could not put it down.

Another winner with new characters, secrets and families that go back thousands of years.
Our new star is Adriana Summer, a well respected Art Authenticator. She finds herself torn between two rivals for her affections, one dark and brooding and the other just the opposite. Yet she finds herself drawn to the both of them in different ways. Each of their stories are crossed because of their history and families. She discovers that she is now a part of the twilight realm. She must discover how she fits in this other world. How will she stand up to those against her or is it only the King that is her enemy? Can’t wait for more!

This is the first book of a new series by Ava Ward. I loved all of her Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco series. She does not disappoint with the Vampire Masters of Italy. I loved Quinn, Ariana and Lucca's story. It was absolutely enthralling and a masterful work. It drew me in and took me to the Red Letter Hotel in Florence. The book was well written and the scenes vividly descriptive. I can't wait for her next book. I was given an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Dark Master's Kiss first in a new series, Vampire Masters of Italy, by Ms. Ava Ward.I am so excited about this first spin off from the Red Letter Hotel, Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco (an amazing must read series) Dark Master's Kiss is about the mysterious often cold, very dominant but oh so sexy Vampire Baron Quindici DaPonti. We also meet the innocent but very strong fae Arianna summers hiding in the human world, and the summer fae Prince Luca. Dark Master's kiss takes us back into the Twilight Realm to the Red Letter Hotel of Italy. new friendships, challenges, battles, oh and sex. It all comes together to take us on a wild ride through fae world politics and family drama. Will the crazy king be stopped? Will Quinn learn to love? Who can be trusted? Dark Master's Kiss is a sexy, fast paced beginning to a promising awesome new series. Can't wait for it to continue.

I was excited to be back in the Twilight realm as soon as I began reading this book. If you're looking for a new book to read/series to start, just know that you can not go wrong with a book by Ms. Ward! Dark Master's Kiss is the first book in her new series, Vampire Masters of Italy, and a spin off of her recently completed series Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco. So if you're in the market for an escape from reality in the form of a new take on vampires and fae you'll want to be sure to check this book out! I'm excited to see Ariana, Quin, and Lucca grow and develop as the series continues.

When I finished the dragons of Morocco, I was a bit disappointed that one of my favourite series was over. Picking up this book was like stepping right back in and I loved it. Seeing the story start to come together with Ariana, Quindici and Lucca has me excited to see what’s coming next. This was so action and romance packed with mystery around every corner and it had me on my toes and wanting to keep reading. I dragged finishing this book out because I didn’t want to be done with it, amazing read.

I will say I was a little unsure if I wanted to move away from Ms Ava Wards Royal dragons. But this book is wonderful. To me it doesn't read as an off shoot. Masters kiss has a different either about it. Well worth a read.

Barone Quindici DaPonti appears in the „Royal Dragon of Marocco“ series. He was not one of my favourite characters then, so I started reading the book with mixed feelings. In the beginnig of the book he is still cold and calculating, but this changes more and more. Overall I mostly enjoyed the story, only the parts about the magic flaring/mixing could have been less often.

Anyone who has read an Ava Ward series will know that they enter a wonderful world; decadent and decorative, fiercely passionate and personally challenging. Dark Masters Kiss is the first in a series so there are new, unmet, characters to get to know. Arianna Summers, Quintici DaPointi and Luca Bellari, together with a cast of Fae and Vampire, walk through the pages with great abandon - with a fair amount of abandoning and reuniting as they go. You will revel in every page - Ava’s ability to create an amazing world will entrance you.

After finishing Ms. Ward’s Dragon Bind series I was excited to read her newest series that takes place in the same world and revisiting a special vampire we met in the other series. This story was super interesting and I loved all of the characters. This was a great start to a new story and I’m excited to see how it unfolds.

Pleasure strikes again!

Ms. Ward writes complicated, convoluted stories, and once again, she has done just that with this story. Great lead characters, along with the secondary characters, make me look forward to the next in this series. I hope it's not very long from now!

I'm so excited! I just finished reading and I just want to know Quin's secret plan! This book is gold, the scenes are so well depicted, you can actually imagine everything with full details. The places, the dresses, the people... So much Magic, opulence, decadence. The Fae Prince, Lucca, the master vampire, Quidinci, and the dark Fae Ariana they are such great charecters that they just seem real. I'm Addicted to this Author and this new series is my happy place.

Ava Wards new book Dark Master's Kiss went beyond my expectations and is mesmerizing. It is a hot pace adventure with so many twist and turns that I had to read the first chapter twice.
Imagine being an excellent art curator in Florence, Italy when a very magnetic, charming, sexy Quindici DaPonti walks in. You become very aware of energies swirling around him, you are uncontrollably drawn to him, a magnetic lure that makes you dizzy, then the room begins to alter in magical ways you could never imagine and you question whether you are human or not. From a romantic beautiful setting like Florence, Italy Ava Ward takes us on a journey fraught with danger and so fast pace it makes your head spin. Ms. Ward's characters are lush in description and varied in abilities from dangerous to sublime. Her heroines are smart and strong and Arianna Summer is no exception plus she is independent and hates being used, don't you, but she won't let anyone get away with it. And what better combo then to have two sexy hot men right in front of you, one Quinn and one a Fae prince. There are so many surprising, jaw dropping revelations on all levels you will not want to miss this new series Vampire Master's of Italy, Book 1 'Dark Master's Kiss'.

I received this book as an ARC. I love Ava Ward's books. I want to say that I am really glad that Quinn finally found out love is good. I liked his character from The Dragon Bind series ok. But now we get to see more depth of him. His story makes more sense to me now. I also can't forget the rest of Characters from his Dark Haven. Ok, there is nothing I don't love about this book and can't wait to read the next.

*Characters in this book include:
Barone Quindici DaPonti, Prince Lucca Bellari, and Ariana Summers.

* Before anyone reads this book I would recommend reading Ava Ward's other series Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco. It is not necessary to read that series first as Lucca and Ariana are not even present in that world as of Book 9. Quindici does show up in a number of those books in that series as a side character involved in the main plot and has tie to one of the main characters as they have a shared past. It is in book 9 of that series that we learn from a Revenant that Quindici DaPonti is more than meets the eye.

*Now this book, I didn't hate, but I didn't love it. I skipped over lengthy scene setting descriptions. Some information was repeated when Ariana is interacting with different characters which was repetitive and tiresome after awhile. What we learn about each character in this book is kind of superficial. Honestly, I didn't care what happened with any of these characters because of this, except Quindici because I have more exposure of him from the other series. I am curious if this opinion changes after reading book 2.

*There is kissing and only one scene involving intercourse, if anyone needs that information.

*I am going to read book 2 of this series, but I am not loving this series as much as I did the Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco. There is something missing in this Vampire Masters of Italy series so far and I am not sure what it is specifically.

*There is going to be a 3rd book in this series, Light Fae's Love. You can read a description of it on Ava Ward's website and it is to be out in Fall of 2021. I don't see it on Goodreads or on Amazon as of this review. Having read book 1 and read blurb's for books 2 and 3, this series should have only been two books in my opinion for what is going to be offered for story line.

**I do wonder if Layla and her Royal Dragon Bind will make an appearance in this series at some point. I hope they do and I think so far the series needs to have them in it for an update on them and some umph for this series.

Poetic language

The writing in this book is vividly poetic, verging on purple prose. The story reads as though it were translated from another language, some of the words and phrases jarring and awkward.

The book takes place over only a few days for as long as it is. The POV switches in some chapters without warning, so the reader needs to be aware of what's going on. The story isn't as explicit as expected, but that is not a criticism, just an observation.

I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series, especially since I loathe cliffhangers. But what's here is an enjoyable story.

Intense

The is a complex story with amazing characters and a history that enraptures the reader. The author builds up a fiery romance but then doesn’t quite bring it home; the author builds up then the deed is done and moves on to the agenda; like it was an excerpt that needed to be there but not followed through. The details of the story are so enthralling, a little more sensuality would make it a 5/5.

Good start of a new series.

The lead characters are great. I like the descriptions of what Ariana sees with her growing magic. Ariana has to navigate her way in the vampire and fae worlds. Intrigue, magic and action face Ariana. Two males vue for her to ally herself with them Can she trust anyone? I do not consider the ending a true cliffhanger, but the story continues in book 2.
